Enlarged Cursor

Today I turned my computer on, and woah, a huge cursor appeared. It was just a large pixelated white arrow. I am not sure how to change the size of the cursor. Nothing else is enlarged. Does anyone know what this is all about? I restarted, and still the same.

as a guess, try looking in System Preferences - Universal Access - Mouse&Trackpad, see if cursor size is set to normal or large.
could be some other issue causing it though.

  • How can I resize my enlarged cursor?

I don't recall how I did it, but I inadvertently enlarged the size of my cursor. How can I bring it down to normal size? Any help is greatly appreciated.
I also need to sharpen (darken) text—it is grey and hard to read.

Looks like you've made some changes in the Universal Access/Accessibility section of System Preferences. You can change (back) the cursor size and alter the contrast there.

  • My MacBook Pro (Latest, Retina, Mountain Lion, 10.8.2) won't work with HDMI..!?!!!?!?!

I usually connect my MacBook Pro to my TV through a HDMI cable, I never have to change any settings or anything, I just turn on my TV, plug in the HDMI cable to my MacBook and my TV, and it does the rest itself. But I tried to do this yesterday, and my computers screen just went blue, then briefly flashing my original screen before going completely dark. I can then only see an enlarged cursor, and it slowly, veeeeeery slowly, peices together my screen (NOTE: it is doing this on my TV AND on my MacBook, so I can't see anything on either screen for ages unless I remove the HDMI cable) it took 40mins to peice together about 1/3 of the screen, and even then, it was insanely glitchy, I could hardly press anything... How can I fix this? Keeping in mind that I cannot see my screen while the HDMI cable is in... And I know for a fact that it is not a problem with either the TV or the HDMI cable because it had no trouble connecting my other Windows laptop to it... Someone please help!!!

This is just one of the glitches you'll find in Apple Mac OS X. One day something works and the next, or a few hours later, it doesn't. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for it. It just happens.
About the only way to fix it is to Reinstall, at least that is what I have found I've had to do in some circumstances.

  • Computer won't start from hard drive or CD, and won't perform system recovery.

I have an HP Pavilion g7-1314nr. Yesterday it froze and I held down the power button to turn it off. After turning it back on, it started a disk check. I turned it off during the disk check, and upon trying to boot it back up, it told me booting failed and to press CTRL-ALT-DELETE to try again. After multiple attempts, it stopped displaying this message.  Under system diagnostics, I ran a boot test, and it failed. Attempting a system recovery brings up the start-up windows logo, and then a black screen with an enlarged cursor. This morning, I inserted a recovery disk and told it to boot from internal CD/DVD drive. Like system recovery, it brings the Windows logo, and then a black screen with an enlarged cursor. My computer is incapable of booting from either the hard drive or a CD. What do I do?

    Hi @TeridaxXD001 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion g7-1314nr Notebook and issues with Windows 7 and starting up.  I recommend to restore the BIOS defaults. You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings which should resolve the fan issue.
Here is a link to computer won't start for Windows 7. There is a section on getting past the HP Logo screen.
If that does not help at the end of the document it shows you to do a hardware test.
Please note remove any and all USB devices before troubleshooting. Disconnect all non-essential devices
    Hope this helps you out.
    Thanks.

  • Display suddenly "enlarged" and now moves when i move cursor

So my toddler just did some random key pushing on my laptop and all of a sudden my display has "enlarged" and is moving around when my cursor moves (I move the cursor to the left, the screen moves to the right). All functions are working correctly, it's just super annoying. I restarted my machine (no help) and also checked my display size in preferences and made it what it should be, 1440x900, but nothing. Any ideas?
    Thanks

Open the Universal Access pane of System Preferences, click on the Seeing tab, and turn off Zoom.

  • Is there any way to enlarge a cursor on a graph, or attach a .bmp image to it so that it shows up better?

I am using an intensity graph to display position (and information) from GPS, using the graph's cursor, point only without crosshairs, to indicate the location. Sometimes it is hard to find the cursor. I would like to enlarge it, make it flash, attached an led indicator, bitmap image or something to make its location more obvious against the background data. I've thought about attaching the LED indicator, but cursor position would need to be calibrated to the screen aspect ratio. This works, but its difficult given that the graph has varying Scales. Does anyone know an easy way to make the cursor larger or more obvious using any of the methods mentioned above?

I came up with this solution but I now do not think it is what you are looking for now that I reread your posting. My example reponds to mouse clicks from the user on the intensity graph and it moves a highly customized picture control to where you mouse up. You can learn how to modify controls in the "LabVIEW Custom Controls, Indicators, and Type Definitions" manual.
I think what you want instead is to programatically move the cursor and have an image move to the new location. I could not figure out how to do this reliably. The problem is that the cursor location is given relative to the data and there is no property that gives the postion relative to the screen. I have in the past come up with fancy algorithms for making this conversion but all my s
olutions were flaky--they did not work right when the VI as loaded from file.
Attached you will find my example. The logic for controlling the picture control movements is not finished but it gives you an idea of what you might expect with this method.

  • Broken cursor when enlarging brushes in Photoshop CS4...

    http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/4281/76281276aq6.gif
I'm expriencing a broken cursor when enlarging brushes in Photoshop CS4 [see pic]. The cursor is OK at small sizes, but start to get but off after enlarging past a medium size. Can this bug be fixed?
WinXP, 3GB RAM, NVIDIA 6800 GT video card

    >This fixed the problem.
actually that masks the problem. the fix is still an updated video driver. if the latest one for your card doesn't work, keep using that setting for now, but write to the card manufacturer and report the bug.

  • Brush Cursor Disappears while Enlarging It

The brush cursor is visible while the brush size is small, but upon enlarging it, it gradually disappears, section by section, until it completely disappears and i cannot tell what i am painting or cloning. I have messed around with the preferences, but  to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Phil

This sounds like an old problem, fixed a while ago, by nVidia.
Visit the nVidia web site and download the latest drivers for your video card.  Hopefully it's modern enough that they'll have new drivers for it that will solve your problem.

  • In Lion, sometimes clicking on close button or tabs doesn't respond as if the buttons aren't there, i have to move the cursor away and move back to make them work again, anyone can help me?

I'm not sure if anyone had run into this issue. Clicking the same place on the display sevral times will cause the click to stop working. For example, if i open safari and click on the Show Reading List button, it will work the first time i click it, but stop responding to my command as i click more, as if the button is not there, i have to move away the cursor and click somewhere else and move back to click the button to make it work again. And it happened everywhere, not just the show reading list button. The scrolling and moving are normal.
In fact, I have my trackpad replaced in an apple store for this issue but it turned out this is not a hardware problem, and it is not only my problem. Ironically, i found the same issue on several of the demo Macs inside the apple store. So anyone can help me here? Thanks.

Hi manni394, what version of Firefox are you running now?
Firefox 22 has a new way of setting the default zoom level: it is based on your Windows font size setting. So, if you set Windows fonts to 125% (enlarged 25%), your Firefox pages also will be enlarged 25%. On pages that do not adjust their layout, you may get a horizontal scroll bar.
To reduce the zoom on a page, hold Ctrl and tap the - key (the one on the numeric keypad or the one on the number row of the keyboard). The zoom should be reduced for each tap.
If you want to globally adjust your zoom level to be lower, you can use either of these add-ons:
    * [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/ Default FullZoom Level]
    * [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/ NoSquint]
If you already have one of those add-ons, check the default/global zoom level in case it needs to be adjusted.

  • How can I get a more visible cursor on my MBP?

I'm using Reflector to display my iPad on my MBP so I can display on a wall with a classroom projector.  I would like to use a large bright cursor on the MBP to point out tools on the iPad.
Anyone know how I can change the cursor?
    Tx, Stacey

You can open your Applications folder>System Preferences>"Accessibility">select "Display" in the left hand column>in the right hand portion of the window move the "slider" for the "Cursor Size" to the Right to enlarge the Cursor to the size you want.  Unfortunately that is the only adjustment possible for your situation.

  • Running 10.9.2, out of the blue I can no longer minimize e-mails in Mac mail program.  I have to put the cursor on the upper edge of the screen to show the tool bar that allows me to scroll down to quit mail to get out the of the program.

Recently my mail program has changed itself and I can no longer see the red, yellow and green dots allowing me to close minimize and enlarge.  To get out of mail I have to put the cursor on the top edge of the toolbar expanding to another toolbar that will allow me to quit mail.  This is a real pain right where my mother never kissed me.  How do I get the dots back?

Move the mouse to the far upper right corner of the screen.  You should see a blue box with two arrows pointing inwards.  Click that blue icon.  Sounds like you put the Application into whats called Fullscreen Mode.

  • Why doesn't my cursor change when I click the selection tool?

When I open any file, the object -- in this case, an image -- is already selected.
I want to enlarge the image so I click the buttons to do that. Normally I would pick 125% or 150%, but the dropdown menu does not open. I tried clicking the up arrow/down arrow buttons. Nothing happened. I tried double-clicking on the numbers to type a percentage; tiny blue horizontal bars appear on either side of the default "100" as if the machine is trying to highlight the number, but can't.
I click the Text tool, get the I-beam, and can click in a text box.
After all that, I click the selection tool. Nothing happens. My cursor is an I-beam. I cannot change it to anything else.
I have installed and uninstalled InDesign several times in an effort to correct this and related problems.
Installed from media -- original disks -- encountered problem -- uninstalled & reinstalled -- problem not solved.
Downloaded installation files from Adobe. Same result.
Uninstalled & reinstalled InDesign only. Still no go.
Reimaged computer back to factory settings, created desktop installation point for CS4, installed CS4 from there. Still no go.
Is it possible that there is some kind of incompatibility between CS4 and my computer? It is a new (one week old) Acer Travelmate laptop. Got it from TigerDirect, a trustworthy merchant.
My OS is Windows 7, but this shouldn't be a problem; CS4 runs fine with Windows 7 on another computer in my house (which, unfortunately, is occupied most of the time, or I would use that).
    Any ideas at all?
Please help. I have a project deadline coming up and really need this particular computer to work.
Thank you thank you thank you.

    Bob! BOB!! You did it!!!
I would give you money if I had money.... The next best thing I can think of to offer thanks is give you a great recipe:
1 pizza crust of your choice
    olive oil
8 oz of goat cheese (more or less to suit your taste)
    1 medium tomato
6 large cloves of fresh garlic
4-6 oz of sliced black olives (more or less to suit your taste)
    fresh or dried basil
For best results, all ingredients should be organic or at least of highest quality available
    Oven 350
Pre-heat the oven to 350 (important to do this). Dice the tomato to 1/4-inch bits and dice the garlic to 1/8-bits or as near as you can. Slice the black olives if necessary. Brush the pizza crust with olive oil. Blind bake it for 3 minutes or until two rooms smell really nice.
Spread on the goat cheese. Sprinkle on the basil, tomato, olives and garlic as evenly as you can.
Bake the pie for 15 minutes and check it for doneness to your liking (crispy or not).
Serve with salad and a cold white wine for a nice dinner for two, or cut into 2" squares for appetizers at a party.

  • Problem with Cursors in Photoshop CS4

I am only seeing partial cursors (i.e. semi-circles or truncated brush tips) for cursors when I enlarge the cursor size.  This is happening across all tools wherever I enlarge the brush tip.  I tried resetting the preferences and updating the video drivers with no luck.  I am running on Windows XP Professional on a Dell desktop using a Dell monitor that has an nVidia GEForce 8600 GTS video driver running version 6.14.11.5851.  I had updated the driver to the latest version but the PC became unstable, causing a system dump and "blue screen of death", so I rolled back to this version.  I also use a Wacom tablet with the setup.  It had been working fine and I am not aware of any changes to the system that would have caused this.  I have an open ticket with Adobe for about two weeks but so far the problem has not been resolved.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you updated Photoshop to vession 11.0.1?
Have you tried turning off OpenGL in preferences?

I have three iWeb sites, to which I have added Slide Show and Click to Enlarge features on Photo pages. They are all published via web.mac.com.
