Enough access privilegdes error on itunes on windows

Hi , I can't sync my Iphones with itunes I am getting an error about not having enough access priviledges

i been having the same problem. Now my music library is in a removable drive. I think i have found the solution to my problem and hopefully this helps everyone else too.
iTunes 7 for XP has a new service that REQUIRES to be on and running at all times every time you use iTunes "*Apple Mobile Device*" when it first came out i notice the extra service and i set it up for manual start, thus i never had a problem after that; Because most of the information i was getting was that this service is for the iPhone, which i do not have... THEN iTunes had another update since that and that is when i notice the problem. I restored the service back to normal and now it is working.
On Windows use your mouse hit "start" menu
then hit "run" in the little window
write "services.msc"; with out the "" and hit "ok".
A new window should be open.
*DO NOT MESS WITH ANYTHING HERE UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT U DOING!! Read FIRST!* Look for the
service name "*Apple Mobile Device*" service selected with your mouse. Double click it a description panel popup *READ THE CENTER OF THAT WINDOW* and
*read the status of it*. hit start to
*change the status to "started"*. Just
above it it says "Startup type" to the right there is a drop window. Selected and *select "Automatic"*.
To close the window make sure you hit "Apply" then "OK".
Now you should be looking at the Services Control window. Go ahead and close it, thru "X" or file menu(it does not matter which way) Restart your computer and try again iTunes.
+_Now please remember this worked for me and i am just passing this down to anyone who may need this done..._+

  • "Access Privileges Error" in iTunes 5

I get an error message when I close the prefs box in iTunes 5.0.1. The error tells me iTunes tried to update the default player for audio files but I don't have enough "access privileges" to do this.
This happens the first time I close the prefs box after opening iTunes. If I close the prefs box a second time, I don't get the error message.
I have the only user account on my computer so I'm the administrator.
I see a few other people have had this problem. ( b noir, "Error occurred while updating the default player" #1, 12:09pm Sep 8, 2005 CDT) But the fix identified there -- turning off Microsoft Anti-Spyware -- didn't work for me. I tried doing that and reinstalling iTunes, but I still get the error message. I also tried turning off my AVG anti-virus. Still no luck.
This doesn't seem to affect the operation of the program, but it's an annoyance.
    Anyone found another fix?
    thanks
    Paul D.

    hi Paul!
This doesn't seem to affect the operation of the program, but it's an annoyance.
hmmm. how about if you head into the Add/Remove control panel and toggle the default media player setting back and forth a few times?
(don't know if this works or not, but i once had a thread go silent after suggesting it when the Antispyware thing turned out not to be a factor.)

  • Error installing iTunes on Windows 7 64-bit

Tried installing iTunes 9.2 for Windows 7 64-bit. "An error occured during the installation of assembly "Microsoft.VC80.CRT, version="8.0.50727.4053",type = "win32", publickey token ="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",process or Architecture ="x86". Please refer to help and support for more information. HRESULT: 0x8007054f.
Ive tryed uninstalling and re installing. But i cant seem to get it to install. iTunes shows up in programs but its not installed correctly and wont open.

    HRESULT: 0x8007054f.
On Windows 7 systems, one thing that might help with that code is installing the following security update:
[Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update|http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=766a6af7-ec73-4 0ff-b072-9112bab119c2&displaylang=en#filelist]
Does that install, or do you get a 1935 error citing the same HRESULT for the security update?
If the update installs, try another iTunes uninstall/reinstall again. Do iTunes and Apple Application Support install properly this time?

  • Error upgrading iTunes for Windows 7, 64 bit

S'okay. Good to know about this now rather than later on down the track. I'll reply in two ways: first with some "big picture" advice about the disk damage, and then secondly with another technique for getting the iTunes install to go through (even though we can't get the disk damage fixed).
I am very concerned now because CHKDSK found 13 file sectors unreadable but freezes before it gets them fixed. My computer is only about 2 months old! I'm not sure what to do now.
    (1) Okay, it's best to keep your data well backed up. I'd try another chkdsk every few days to check to see if the problem is evolving. If it looks like it's getting worse, send the PC in for warranty repair. Prior to doing that, be sure to deauthorise the PC for iTunes, because otherwise replacement of the hard drive may convince the PC it's a completely different one from the one you've got authorised, and you may end up with two different authorisations on the same PC.
    (2) In the meantime, let's have another go at getting your iTunes installed. The problem here is that your iTunes is getting stuck trying to delete the damaged file/folder and replace it with a new one. So we'll try convincing it that the existing damaged files/folders don't exist ... that way it will creat a new one from scratch.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
    Open the C drive.
Open the "Program files (x86)" folder.
    Open the "iTunes" folder.
    Open the "iTunes.Resources" folder.
    Open the "pl.lproj" folder.
    Rename the "rentedmoviesplacard.nib" folder "rentedmoviesplacard.nibOLD".
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Error Updating iTunes On Windows

Sorry I can't seem to find where to start a new topic...
For the last few months my Dell Studio is asking me to update iTunes/Quicktime but each time I try it gives an error and then backs out of the update. When I connect my iTouch it also tells me I need to update and I get the same issues. Why can't I update any more? It was working fine prior to Sept/Oct.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit system.
I've asked questions here before but never get a reply. For the money I paid for the iTouch they should offer a basic support instead of charging you as soon as the warranty runs out in a few months.
Thanx for any help you can provide.
    <Edited by Host>

    As close as I can recall the error was;
    Error getting file security
    Quicktime 7.66.????(not sure exact #'s)
    Get last error;5
I tried to unistall Quicktime and all others associated with it (ie, Bonjour, Apple applications, etc)but it would give that same error then stop the uninstall process.
    Thanx for the quick reply

  • Error installing iTunes for Windows

While installing iTunes 7.2 for Windows(XP), I encountered the Error: 1921.Service iPod Service (iPod Service) could not be stopped.
I can not even uninstall the iTunes(4) that I already have on this computer, for the same reason.

that can happen sometimes if the itunes installer is having a hard time shutting down either itunes or quicktime (or applications using quicktime) prior to the install. so let's try a "download, restart, then install strategy."
    leave your ipod unplugged.
download and save a copy of the itunes installer to your hard drive. (do not run the install on line, and do not start the install by clicking on the iTunesSetup.exe (installer) file just yet.)
    iTunes 7.1.1.5 Installer
shut down running applications and restart the PC.
do not open any other applications prior to attempting the iTunes install. switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.
now start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.
does the install go through properly this time?

  • Launch error for iTunes on Windows 7

I recently installed the latest update for iTunes on my PC and when I attempted to launch I received an error stating that one of the .dlls "is either not designed to run on Wondows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support." I tried downloading and reinstalling iTunes and also removing and then reinstalling but received the same error. I recently upgraded my PC from Vista to Windows 7 and wonder if it is related to the problem.

    Many thanks.
Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7,now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)
Re: I recently updated to vista service pack 2 and I updated to itunes 10.2.1 and ever
