Enquiry about audigy 4 [NON-PRO] & audigy 2

Hi, I would like to make an enquiry about a few creative products.
I am currently intrested in getting a T7900 speaker system.
However i have doubts on the soundcard that i should get.
Could anyone identify the difference with a Audigy 4 [NON-Pro] and a Audigy 2 ZS.
I couldn't find any through comparison on these 2 products in the whole creative website.
And also, is the T7900 7. speaker system compatible with either of the 2 audigy sound cards.
Which card would you recommand me to go for too.

Well im feeling lazy ATM so I have no technical data to pass on. I would say thought the differents are :
: Price,, hmm get which is cheaper
2: The Audigy 4 would have ( at a guess anyway?)?more settings/tools and banks for media creation and the like.
Other than that, not a great deal between them. As far as games go, they both do the very same thing and with DVD movies they would produce the same rates as with music.
Id say, get the ZS if your into games and DVDs+music, or get the A 4 for the same reasons + Media creation/mixing and stuff like that.
Like I said, to lazy to research it further but close enough

Audigy 4 non-pro, multimedia probl

Hi there,
Got the Audigy 4 non-pro card, and I'm sticking with it for a long time... but it does have a few problems, I was hoping some of you may have the same problems and could help me. The first one may not be a problem with the card itself.
The thing is, I have a certain DVD-title that has Linear PCM Stereo and DTS-Digital 5. Surround soundtracks. The stereo works fine (let's say in Windows Media Player), but when I switch to DTS (hoping for a surround experience), there is no sound! I am able to have surround sound with most DVDs, although it's usually Dolby Surround. Do I need special software to play DTS soundtracks? I know that PowerDVD (or whatever its' name) has to be upgraded for DTS, but the Windows Media PLayer does have a DTS logo thing, when I play it, but there is no sound!
The other problem seems to be more serious.
When I work with MIDI, or play MIDI files, there's a strange lock-up of the system, although on an irregular basis. Sometimes, suddenly, instantaneously, everything stops, and there is a sustained and quiet MIDI sounds, as though the last notes are held, and the system is in a state of complete lock-up. Does anyone have a problem with taht? Or a solution, even better!

I think you should try some modded driver. It will provide better sound. Try these following links and find out which driver will give your favorite sound. But remember to back up your system (system restore is a good choice before doing so)

do audigy 4 and audigy 4 pro drivers differ? the newest pro is only beta and a few months older than the "non pro". also, despite having bought a 4 pro, it never says so, neither in the system or when using autoupdate (installed products: Sound Blaster Audigy 4, DR release 2.5.0), auto update does not tell me to download the non pro driver though. I'd be glad if someone could tell me which driver to use

You find the latest drivers (fits for X-FI & Audigy 2 & 4 serie) from station-drivers.
These drivers are even WHQL (eg. passed MS quality test).

What happened to the Audigy 4 (non-pro) drivers on the websi

I swore a week or so there were seperate drivers for the new Audigy 4 (non-pro) on Creative's site. Now only the Audigy 4 Pro is shown under the download options. What happened? I was going to just use the online drivers with the audio console for an easy install and to ensure I have the lastest drivers.

Try download them MANUALLY. They're 5.2..6-2.08.00.000.

Audigy 4 (non-Pro) driv

Hi,
Quick question, really. I have tried searching, but I can't seem to find the answer (one way, or another) that I am looking for.
I am running Windows XP, and I have a Creative Audigy 4 (non-pro) sound card. I am using the January 2006 drivers, which Creative have listed on their web site.
But I was really just wondering if there were any other drivers for this card that I am unware of and that I could try?
I am thinking of more recent beta drivers, popular modded drivers, or other Audigy (, 2, etc) drivers that people have used with their Audigy 4.
If not, have Creative publically stated that they plan to release a new driver set for the Audigy 4?

Question about Audigy 4 and bug report regarding the THX-cons

Will there be a non-pro version of the Audigy 4 and when?
The THX-console doesn't remember its settings when I switch from one speaker config to another. This is pretty annoying since I use both a hi-fi system and headphones.
Could you fix this please?

can i get some user opinions on what they think are increasing levels of quality with your idea of some hardware/software/editing configuration like the one offered by Jeron?
For instance...
Level 1 - capture compressed via 1394 firewire card and edit in HDV.
Level 2 - capture compressed via 1394b firewire card / convert via Cineform / edit in HD.
Level 3 - capture uncompressed via sdi Aja Xena card and edit in HD.
Any opinions?

Harm pretty much summed it up really well, Nelson.
I've only ever shot HDV so I can only comment on that. If you are shooting HDV, you can...
1. Edit it as HDV
2. Edit it in an intermediate codec like Cineform's
3. Get the hardware to ingest it as uncompressed HD by getting an HD-SDI converter (or use HDMI if you can).
I usually just do #1. Lately I've been using Avid for HDV because it works better for my workflow, which is multi-cam with the audio recorded separately from the video. I'm hoping Adobe can fix the bugs that will make me productive again with PPro, because I miss dynamic link.
I have a HD Connect LE which will let me convert the firewire to HD-SDI and ingest as uncompressed HD (10 bit or 8 bit) using an Aja Xena. I only do that as 10 bit if I want to tweak the image alot with special effects from Lightwave or particleIllusion and with my green screen work.
I don't use #2 because I don't like Cineform's preset and the way it deals with non-Cineform filters and transitions. That is just a personal preference. I tend to use effects that are cross-NLE like Boris FX, so they work the same everywhere, Vegas, Avid, PPro, AE; etc. (Coming from an Avid background where their intermediate works better than native HDV with ALL filters and effects, Cineform was even more disappointing...)
Most people should be fine with Cineform. Chances are you will be happy with #1 or #2. Number 3 is a huge expense which is really not worth it if you are shooting on a compressed format like HDV in the first place. For me it is a better solution than Cineform, though if I want the extra headroom of 10 bit media.
(My comments in that other thread were a reaction to the OP ranting about Adobe not being "professional enough" for him to edit his "feature film" with a $700 HDV camera using "CINEFORM HD". I was trying to tell him if he is really serious, he wouldn't be shooting a "feature film" with a $700 HDV camera and editing in a compressed file workflow.)

What you're calling "Adobe Forms" is really Adobe FormsCentral. The FormsCentral service is indeed going away soon, but you can always create PDF forms (AcroForms) with Acrobat. Acrobat also comes with a desktop version of the FormsCentral desiger, which can be used to create simple PDF forms that can be used apart from the FormsCentral service. So you'll no longer be able to create and host web forms with the FormsCentral service or use PDF forms with the FormsCentral service. You will be able to create standalone PDF forms with Acrobat and simple PDF forms with the FormsCentral desktop app.

JUnable to enable SPDIF? X-Fi XtremeGamer (non-PRO) w/ Digital I/O Module? I recently purchased the Digital I/O module in order to use SPDIF Out on my X-Fi XtremeGamer in order to send audio to my 5. receiver via digital coax.
However after hooking up my Digital I/O module to the flexijack (the one with the red light) I am unable to enable SPDIF.
I read and followed the directions listed here:

About populating a non-database item in a multi-records block

Hi, all
I have a problem about populating a non-database item in a
multi-records block. This block is set to database block with a
controlled item which needs to be populated after query. so I
create a post-query trigger, but my problem is when the records
listed in this block are less than 10 ( the record number is set
to 10), the trigger fires no problem. but when the retrieved
records are greater than 10, the error message is 'post query
trigger raised unhandled exception ora 01403'. anyone can help me
fix this problem?

When you have an unbound item in a block and want to fetch
some data into it you need to write a post-query trigger.What
you have done is right.But it seems that u are getting a No data
found error.I am sure about how u r populating data into that
field.If u have written a select statement to fetch the data in
post-query trigger, kindly handle an exception and find out the
problem.Having a look at ur code(pos-query) would be much more
helpful for giving a better solution.Try this a let me know.

You won't be able to select the UAE when setting FaceTime up(its not a choice), but if you select another country, it should work just fine.

Probs with k8t neo and radeon 9500 non pro

I´m totaly new with amd and i got a msi k8t neo and a sempron 2800+ with 1gb memory and a saphire radeon 9500 non pro and the computer does not start with that graphiccard.The processor fan just spins up a bit then it dies. But with a gforce 5200 card the computer works fine. I have tryed the saphire card in my server with a P4 1,6ghz and on that motherboard it works just fine.
Im from sweden so my english is not the best ;-)

Well you know that othergfx cards do work oin ur board, so I still say you RMA it, or swap if with another card that will work
