Length of paper size is 23.5.
How much width & height in MM should I give in spad
so that all the values will fit?

Hello,
The page formats are based on the length and width of the preprinted page format.
So get the required specifications from the functional contacts so that it can be easy in page configuration in SPAD.

               I am using Preprinted format(Left to Right) for Delivery Note , I need to print Delivery note in English and Arabic language . I am able to print Delivery Note in both language . when i print delvery note in English is working fine because preprinted format is Left to Right ,The problem is when use same Preprinter format(Left to Right) for Arabic   is printing Right to Left (format itself changed to Right to left).
I want to Print delivery note in Arabic language in Left to Right Format,

(This answer is based on your having gotten it backwards: you want it to read RTL but you can only see it LTR. Arabic is supposed to be RTL).

How to edit the contents of spools generated by smartforms

Hi All,
I am developing a print form using print work bench & smartforms.
There is a requirement to generate both preprinted forms (contains only datas) and Non-preprinted forms (contains u2026 data + layout + colors + picturesu2026etc) using a single smartform.In which the non-preprinted part should only get converted into pdf & preprinted should only be get printed.
For this I am making a replica of the first two pages of non-preprinted into preprinted format in the same smartform(total 4 pages).
Here I am able to extract & save the non-preprinted part from the spool into PDF.
After the above process, I want to edit the spool content, & then sent to printer.
But clueless about editing the spool content...
( for eg:- delete the first two pages of content in the spool & print the rest)
So my question is u2026.
-Is it possible to edit the contents of spool generated by smartforms u2026 ?
(Is it possible to copy the content of existing spool ,edit, save it into new spool and delete the old one. )
Any solutions / suggestions u2026 ?

Yes, I got your point... I even tried this option also.
First of all the user want both(preprinted-hardcopy & non-preprinted pdf) form in a single process, so that data integrity is maintained both in hardcopy & soft copy.
Even if I negotiate tha above requirement....
The problem is , I am using Print WorkBench , not an user-defined driver program.Inside printworkbench , the smartform is mentioned.
The process is as follows...
ea40/ea60(isu billing transaction) -> Printworkbench ->smartforms -> spool -> printer(preprint part) / pdf(non - preprint).
Hope u understand my limitations....

R12 Cheque Print to Printer

Hi
I need a solution to print the cheque directly to the printer(exclusively used for printing Cheque printer name HPLASER) from R12,
As of know once the conc program Format Payment Instructions is completed normal, I click the view button to view the output and print the same by selecting the printer name, the data are printed in the preprinted format as expected.
New requriment : I have configured the printer style and printer name to the conc program Format Payment Instructions, once the conc program is completed with normal the cheque is printed in the specified printer but the alingment is misplaced.
Can you pls provide your suggestion on this.

You should follow those steps:
- Setup the printer at the OS level
- Add a valid entry in the hosts file (Printer Name and the IP Address)
- Login to System Administrator responsibility
- Navigate to Install > Printer > Register
- Define a new printer by entering the Printer Name you have set in the hosts file
- Save
- Bounce the Concurrent Manager
- Submit any standard concurrent request

Does Java support dos based printing

Hi,
I want to print certain bills in a preprinted format. Can I develop an application in Java which allows me to place fields in any position on a paper and print the same in dos mode printing or fast printing unlike windows which is very slow in printing.
The printing is going to be made in Dot matrix printing

Welcome to this forum. Check out the "search" window in the upper right side of this page. It will allow you to search this forum and answer your own question. A quick search of print DOS gave these results:

On viewing these, your best bet is to probably output your results to a text file, then using Runtime.getRuntime().exec() call DOS's print command on your file just created.

Every page twice time printing needed in smartform

Hi gurus,
My requirement is that I need to print every page twice time like for example if I have 3 pages I need to print page 1 twice first and page 2 twice and page3 twice like wise.....
This is preprinted format they have set up in the papare in the printer.
I dont want print all the pages one time and one more copeis in the secod time.
Every page twice twice.....
Can you help me guys ......The point will rewarded if it is useful..

I have tried that option. I made 2 for that variable TDCOPIES = 2. But when you give 2 this variable which printing 2 copies like printing all pages one time ( 1 to 5) then again aprinting all pages (1 to 5).
I dont want like that. I want print every page double time. page 1 double time , page 2 double time like wise...

Hii all,
i have a requirement like this:
1 st screen:
some number of Insurance Policies with radio button
after selecting any one policy ..it will navigate to 2 nd screen.
2nd Screen:
Raise a new enquiry
Existing enquiry ( drop- down list )
Approve/ Reject Existing
If its New Enquiry... 3rd screen will come.
3rd Screen: Raise a new enquiry
In Tabular format user will be able to enter data ,which has to save in Ztable for future.
Heading    Comapny1   Comapny2   Comapny3
Premium1    100               200               150
Premium2    200               150                200
Total           300               ....                    ......
In above Ztable Heading Col. is fixed with data as Premium1, Premium2. In rest cols user will be able to enter data at run time & save it.
4th Screen: Existing enquiry
User can able to select an existing enquiry number from Drop Down list in screen 2nd.
On basis of enquiry number existing enquiry will be dispalyes in same format like screen 3rd.
Kindly reply how to solve this. With report i think we canot do, since many screens are there so, we can do by Module pool (may be i am wrong).
    Any reply appreciated help me out Gurus.

            i think in your case there is no primary identification, thats why it is overwriting all the values.
           Why dont you add a field with serial no and modfiy.
          orelse select all the data into internal table before loop. add the present data into one more internal table, get the
          whole data into final table and update the data.
         actually this should not be done but worst case follow.
         modify statement some acts strangley, for me also the same problem, but all my required fields or in chain and endchain,
         fot this modify is not working, i removed chan endchain, then it is working.

Blank pages in smart forms

hi am working on smartforms i developed a smart form in which i designed a selection screen it will take run-date and run-id from the user and displays vendors address iten details and description and amount after tht cheque will be printed.
   giving the adress and item details of each vendor in one go.
in my test data , three vendors are comming one is having 16 line items and the other 5 and 3 now i want to put a condition i want to pick only those vendors who r having more than 10 items .
so am using a codition on address window main vindow
i declared
data: V_LINES(3) type c.
describe table it_regup1 lines V_LINES.
and in the conditins options i gave
   v_lines ge or eq to 10.
so only one vendor is displaying but two blank pages are
how to supress them
pls let me know

there is only one page
first one address winow is there here am displaying vendor name1 name2 street postal code and all.
in the main window there is a dynamic table for line items in tht regup-xblnr and sgtxt and regup- dmbtr is comming below tht am printing a cheque . in a preprinted format
and tht is fine.
   i put a condition in it tht if line items more than 10. am displaying a text for tht particula vendor 'please see the enclosed attachment'. n its over
   in the second smartform am picking only those vendors who has line items more than 10 and am not printing the cheque as in the first one it will be printed..
   so here i put a condition in the command line
greater than or equal to 10. so only those vendor who's having more than 10 line items are comming but the problem is          in my test data there r three vendors one with
16 items other with 5 and 3
so for the first vendor everything is fine and it is showing
as the window can hold only 10 its going to the new page thts what i want but after tht its showing blank two blank pages   thts the prob

Excise invoice printing is required in preprinted stationary format.

Dear All,
I developed a new program & script for excise invoice printing. The requirement is as under: Page layout will be such where 10 line items( as maintained in billing document) can be printed in each page i.e. if billing document have 25 line items (including Finished goods & accessories) , so it should be printed in 3 pages. In each pages, page no should be printed first, then consignee address, customer address, Date, SO number, Tin no etc. Those above details should come in header portion of each page. Then first 10 line items can be printed. If there are more line items, then next 10 items get printed in next page & so on. In the very last page only assessable amount, Tax, VAT, Educes amt & Gross amt along with Excise number, removal time, type if invoice, payment mode etc (in footer section) should be printed. If billing document have only 10 line items, it will be printed in a single page.
I have declared First page & next page only. In each page I have declared required page window according to window size of preprinted stationary format. For that I have used DINA4 page format( size 210 / 297 MM). But actual height of stationary format is 12 inch ( 305 MM).
In print preview it is displaying supereb. All required data is being displayed properly. But when I am taking printout from Dot-matrix printer, from second page onwards it start printing two lines prior to actual position (two lines going up).
I did some permutation to adjust it. But I can not find a proper resolution to it. My thinking is that it is only printer setting problem. Also in PC level in printer setting I used custom paper size declaring actual paper width & height.
Please advise whether it is script/ program problem or printer setting problem.

Dear Bapujee/Santosh/Srimanta,
I know this is a very peculiar problem. Actually the SAP paper size definations are over-ruled by spool server's print manager's defination i.e. the setting of the PC's finally works.
Simple solution is create a paper size in the PC and set the printer with the new paper size.
Now, you will encounter another problem. The user may using the printer for other paper size printings also. To avoid the changing of PC's paper size every time the user prints different size, you can adopt this :
In the spool server (i.e. the PC with printer), create different printers with required paper size and name this printer with some meaniful names. Now, in R/3, while printing with LOCL output device the user can select the required printer.
This can be done for network printers also.

Purchase order form printing is required in preprinted stationary format

I need one VERY URGENT HELP from you.
Client wants to do printing Purchase order form in preprinted stationary format i.e. using this format they want to print PO document only for certain variable fields each time in our Laser printer,but some fields (which are already) lying will not be printed. (But in the PDF Download of the form for each document number all the fields must appear).
Could you please guide me what are the sequential steps need to be followed, where & how in order to incorporate "preprinted stationary format" scenario in my
Purchase order form. Also, if possible, please tell me in brief what is the meaning of preprinted stationary format & why we are using it / purpose of it.

FYI. Anyways, I have convinced Client that we will provide PDF attachment of form only to them, not Excel attachment. Thanks very much for encouraging me.

After modication of standard Purchase order form using SAPSCRIPT I / Client want to download it into PDF attachment individually corresponding to each PO number. In this PDF attachment all the fields will appear.
But when I / Client will take Printout of this modified PO form (say for example ZMEDRUCK) only certain important information / certain field values will be getting printed, not all.
User will be able to give ranges of PO document numbers for printing at a time based on their requirement, here all documents as specified by the user will be getting printed at a time, but one document printout followed by another document printout , and so on.
We want to print PO sapscript form in "Print output" only. Also, please guide me how many & which output types, message type etc we need to configure & how for the above requirement ( i.e. download of the ZMEDRUCK form into PDF with its all the fields values + printing this ZMEDRUCK form for printing certain important information using "preprinted stationary format".)
FYI. We are using Laser Printer for printing SAPSCRIPT forms.

This additional info printing on the preprinted stationary on One printer &

Hi,
I am using smartform to print info on the preprinted stationary.
The info to be printed is coming fine, But it is printing additional info like Job Name and User name (Login name) on the top left hand side of the pre-printed stationary when we use "HP Jetdirect print server".
The same does not happen when i choose Epson printer as the Front end printer.
To check if this has got some thing to do with the printer settings, When i print a Word Document to the same printer "HP Jetdirect print server". It does not print the additional info ( job name , user name ).
So please let me know what could be the reason for this additional info printing on the preprinted stationary on One printer & Not on other printer.

Have your Basis look into the Printer initialization code in the transaction SPAD. This code is linked to the output device and paper format type, so it is possible that the same printer works differently with different paper media.
Also have them check if there is a cover page. Although it would print as a separate page, I believe...

Script for Preprinted continues label print

Hi All,
I am developing one script in that the stationary was preprinted one with label dimensions of
10 CM width 7 CM height.
For this dimensions I had created new page format and assign to device type EPESCP.
Problem:
I am printing my label on dot matrix printer. It is giving me a weird problem. Print preview looks perfect. In script page I have given enough space to print the preprinted text after that window to write the label content. First page is getting printed perfectly and on second page it printing the label 3 lines upwards and on third page it printing 6 lines upwards and so on... so this is disturbing my alignment.
While assign the page format in device type there is a tab Formats in that
Printer initialization, Reset after exit, End of page, End of line what is the use of the this options ?

In my case ,i am print label of constant 15 lines per page. So in second page also its going to print 15 lines.
The first page is print correctly but in next page on wards 23 lines moving upwards.
The problem is till there.Pls give me ur suggestion its urgent.
