Enrolling Multiple Windows Phones in SCCM/Intune.

Hi
Is there a restriction of how many devices (Windows Phone 8.1) can you enrol to SCCM/Intune at the time ?
We were enrolling up to 15 WP at the time and some devices are missing policies set on SCCM.
Any ideas ?
Thanks.

Hi Hernando,
The max number of mobile devices which can be enrolled in a ConfigMgr/Intune hybrid scenario is 50,000 (this article will help you (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682077.aspx#BKMK_SupConfigClientNumbers)
As far as not getting policy, like Steven mentioned below, one user can be associated with up to 5 devices. Other than that, are you seeing any data in the dmpuploader/dmpdownloader logs? These will give you info on whether or not the devices are actually
getting policy from the Intune Connector. Also, ensure that you have enabled the necessary extensions in the Intune console to get the policies for WP 8.1 that you are looking for.

  • Some Intune users cannot enrol from Windows Phone

I have 16 defined users for my Windows Intune account but only about 5 of them can enrol using Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1. I have checked that all the users are enabled. Using the same phone the first 5 users can enrol and all the others cannot.
Is it possible for someone at Microsoft to look into this?

  • Delete Multiple Windows phones from Device Manager

I attach many windows phones to Windows 7 and it is a pain to remove hundreds from the device manager one at a time.
Is there any way to remove all of them at once? Perhaps similar to how you can remove many printers using Cmd (wmic printer where "Local='True'" delete)?
Please tell me there is an easier way!

What about using a 3rd party tool ?

  • Issue during self enrolling the windows 7 laptop using Intune.

    Hi,
When i tried to enroll windows 7 laptop using portal.manage.Microsoft.com I am getting an error as "This device is either not enrolled or the company portal can't identify it".
    Kindly help on this issue

You can't enroll a Windows 7 laptop as a mobile device. If you want you're users to self-enroll their computers have a look at the steps provided here:

  • Windows Phone 8 on SCCM Sp1

    Hi!
I'm working with SCCM 2012 Sp1 and Windows Intune. I'm trying to combine the two for a steady work enviroment. However, I can't seem to find a guide how to enroll the Windows Phone 8 to my SCCM.
I've already connected the windows Intune Connector, so I can't go back to intune.
    Any help?

    Hi,
You enroll it the same way as Intune is used in both cases even if you use Intune standalone or integrated with SCCM 2012 sp1, so this guide is valid.

  • Determine if Intune Windows Phone 8 trial is expired

Can't seem to find any info on how long the "Support Tool for Windows Intune Trial Management of Windows Phone 8" actually is?  Curious if anyone know how to tell if the certficate is expired?  Trying to enroll a Windows Phone 8.1 and
getting the "can;t fin server" message.  I previously enrolled this same device when it was Windows phone 8.0 so would like to know if its simply that the trial has expired or if there is a bigger issue at play here..
    Thanks!

Well the problem is that I cant get to the point where I can even attempt to download and install the Company Portal app (as provisioned by the intune trial installer process).  I can't get my Win Phone 8.1 device to login via "Workplace".
From Workplace, I add my email, click sign in, it takes me to the Intune login page where I enter my password, then it comes back with the screen showing my email address and a blank server name.  I can manualy enter "manage.microsoft.com"
    but just comes back again.
I have verified that WP8 is enabled in the subscription settings in SCCM with a "certificate on file".  Everything appears to be setup correctly, just cant enroll my WP8.  I can/have enrolled my iPad just fine, which is why it seems like
an expired trial issue but for the life of me can;t find any info on how long the trial is or how to tell if its expired.

  • Windows Phone 8 and Windows InTune

I just signed up for a 30-day Windows InTune trial account and I'm in the process of setting up mobile device management for Windows Phone 8 devices.  After looking through the documentation, I just want to verify that
before I can even enroll any Windows Phone 8 devices for management in Windows InTune I need to...
    1. Purchase a $99/yr subscription to establish a Company (not an Individual) account on the Windows Phone Dev Center (to get a Symantec Publishing ID)
    2. Purchase a $299/yr subscription for a Symantec Enterprise Mobile Code Signing Certificate to obtain an enterprise mobile code-signing certificate using the Symantec Publishing ID from step #1
    3. Download, sign the Company Portal App with the XapSignTool tool using the Symantec enterprise mobile code-signing certificate, and upload the app back into Windows InTune
    Is this correct?
    Regards,
    JJ

An important update to this thread - as of November 2014, you can now enroll Windows Phone 8.1 devices for management in Windows Intune without having to purchase a Symantec certificate. For details, see
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/microsoftintune/archive/2014/11/18/improvements-to-the-windows-phone-8-1-enrollment-process-for-intune.aspx
As of 4/2/2015, hybrid configurations still require a Symantec cert to enroll a phone, but you can get the Company Portal app for WinPhone in the Store and you can send deep links and web links to hybrid phones via that portal. The ability to enroll WinPhone
8.1 in hybrid without a cert is in the works. Stay tuned to the Intune blog for the announcement when that comes. Or you can ping me by replying to this thread, and ask me if certless hybrid is available yet.

  • Windows Phone 8 Enrollment fails (SCCM + ADFS)

I'm using an ADFS and SCCM 2012 SP1 integrated Intune combination.
Login to Intune Mangement via Internet Explorer on normal Desktop and the Portal Website works fine with Domain Credentials. But the Company app on Windows Phone 8 will not connect. Doesn't matter what I type in the username, Password and the boxes below
with serveradress, no error message appears.
Even the Login via the Webbrowser of the Windows Phone 8 device works (m.manage.microsoft.com), but then the error message appears that the Company app Portal is not accessible from this mobile device.
I'm not sure, if I have to look for the signed app which is uploaded with SCCM 2012. Or to the ADFS Proxy Server, because this is run with a certificate from my private CA (the app is signed with an correct public code signing certificate). If found here
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj151794#bk_requirements :
Required: Because this certificate must be trusted by clients of AD FS and Microsoft cloud services, use an SSL certificate that is issued by a public (third-party) CA or by a CA that is subordinate to a publicly trusted root; for example,
    VeriSign or Thawte.
Does this occur, even when the device already trust the private CA (also used for OWA), But the Microsoft cloud Services does of course not?
    Any suggestions are appreciated.

I have a similar problem. I'm using SCCM 2012 R2 with ADFS/SSO. I'm unable to enroll a WP8 device, on entering the upn and password the phone goes off and tries to enroll but comes back asking for the additional info such as "Domain", etc. even entering
the additional info it still does nothing? No error messages, nothing. If I open a web browser and type "enterpriseenrollment.domain.com" I'm redirected to the "manage.microsoft.com"/Intune login page. If I then enter my user upn and tab to enter the password,
it redirects me to my ADFS sts but comes up saying "page cannot be displayed"? So, I cannot access adfs from a web browser or enroll a WP8 device, what am I doing wrong? Port 443 has been opened from my Edge FW through to my adfs proxies/Fed servers with *.manage.microsoft.com
as the only inbound connection allowed, as per the documentation. The MS Remote Connectivity Analyser reports that it cannot access the environment on port 443 but I'm guessing that's due to it not coming from *.manage.microsoft.com? Any advice would be majorly
    appreciated!!!

  • How would i setup certificate authenticated activesync on a windows phone 8 device? Without intune or sccm?

I've searched all over for this and can find no clues in the interface.
We have certificate authentication to activesync, via tmg working well for IOS devices and android, we issue the user a certificate, they use it to authenticate, boom no problems.
We're considering a move to issuing windows phone 8 devices as well, yet i see no way, or instructions on how to actually set these things up to authenticate with a certificate? I see some rumblings about airwatch and sccm with intune, but i don't want to
pay for a subscription just to use this when it works fine without on other platforms.
    Can anyone shed any light?
    Many thanks,
    Jim

Hi - we're authenticating with internally issued certificates against a TMG listener, not sure if that is or isn't mutual certification - I have installed the root on the devices so they are trusted, works great with ios, android etc.
The main issue is there is no place in the setup where you can specify the certificate to use, i have a feeling they (like blackberry) are railroading you into using a paid for mdm solution for cert auth. Be delighted if that isn't the case tho. It is easy
enough to do this for WP8 with SCCM and InTune but i'm not keen on taking out a subscription just for WP8 devices when we can do it gratis with ios and android.
    Thanks for the reply.

  • Windows Intune support deployment for windows phone (8.1) *.appx files

    Hi
We are trying to deploy a windows phone 8.1 appx file with intune (over sccm console). the appx file is signed with a valid symantec certificate.
the installation of the app fails, either when we upload the file as "Required" (so pushing it automatically to the devices) or when we make the app on the company portal app available.
in the sccm console the deployment status says failed -> unkonwn error.
when we use .xap file of an windows 8.0 app, it works like a charm and the xap file is signed with the same certificate.
My question is, is there no support for publishing windows phone 8.1 appx files on Intune? Or what can it be?
    Thanks for any hints

    UPDATE
According to these links and the comments from Mitch Denny, can somebody confirm that .appx files (company apps) cannot be deployed/installed on windows phone 8.1 yet?

  • Windows Intune, Windows 8.1, SCCM 2012 R2

    Hello,
I am planning to setup a new infrastructure to manage devices using Intune and SCCM 2012 R2 for one of my customer.
We plan to have one single site, where in the devices will be imaged with Windows 8.1 and then will be provided to users who roam around the world.
We like to manage these devices and do:
    1. Inventory
    2. Software Distribution
    3. Software Updates
    4. EndPoint Protection
    5. Reporting
I have come to learn that:
    1. Add and verify company domain at account.manage.microsoft.com
    2. Add UPN in AD
    3. Run DIR Sync for Users
    4. Configure Intune Subscription
    5. Install Connector
    6. Whats the next step for configuring Windows 8.1?
    My questions:
    1. Is Cloud based Distribution Point required for hosting content. If not, how will the devices download the content and install the app?
    2. Do we need PKI for Windows 8.1 devices(enrollment and management)?
    3. Where should I install Company App Portal?
    4. What are the different ways of enrolling Windows 8.1 device (Workplace & Store)?
    5. Any other info if you can share, really appreciate
    Please advice
    Rajiv

    Hello Nico,
    Thanks for the guidance.
    1. Distribution Point: manage.microsoft.com - whats the disk size/storage available by default. Is it unlimited. As the Intune license is user based. I can have 5 devices enrolled per user. I may have loads of packages/apps.
    5. Your apps need to be signed with certificate that's is trusted by your device : I guess when we import
an Application in SCCM, it never checks if it has a signed certificate. One would need to ensure that the cert is present.
Can I install software updates to devices managed using SCCM Intune?
We are planning to have a single site with a remote DP for building devices with Windows 8.1. Once the device is ready, it will be given to the user. The user will enroll the device and is good to go. I am sure we will be able to embed Company Portal App
    into the build image?
    Thanks
    Raijv

  • Does a multiple language supported Windows Phone 8 Application support Bengali Language (Bangladeshi language)?

    Hello,
I am developing  a Windows Phone 8 application (for Nokia/ Microsoft Lumia) where multiple languages will be supported. Now, it is needed to support Bengali (Bangladeshi language) in my Windows phone 8 application.
But, I didn't find Bengali language in the Setting -> Language -> phone Language. So could anyone tell me that a multiple language supported windows phone 8 application support Bengali language or not. If it is possible, then how user will change
the app language from phone setting?
FYI .. From Microsoft OEM documentation, I have known that Windows Phone 8.1 GDR2 includes support for Bangla (Bangladesh language).
    Thanks

    Hi NONAME-2007,
As far as I known the Bangla language is supported as a on-screen keyboard language on the Windows Phone 8. But it is not supported as a display language in Windows Phone 8, so you can not choose this language from the phone setting. For more information,
please try to refer to the following article:

  • AIR right solution for us? (multiple Plattform, iOS, Android, Win 8, Win RT, Windows Phone 8

We have to implement a APP for this plattforms.
    Windows 8
    Windows 8 RT
    Windows Phone,
    Android
    iOS.
First it seems that PhoneGap could the right  framework for us. But PhoneGap has a limitation about the size of the local database, 5 MB, (if i unserstand right).
But our database can be more than 10 mb.
    Required basic features are?
Sync data with an online database.
Create photos with camera and upload (is camera available on an Windows 8 Netbook in AIR?)
Potential speech recognition, this means the APP displays an textarea and user can create some text in it with speech recognition (possible with native device features?).
I know this are many questions.
I hope somebody is reading this thread.
I'm reading the roadmap of adobe AIR, but there are no comments about the new Windows 8 Phone.
I am looking forward for answers.
    Kind Regards

If adobe starts with Air i was an big fan of it, because since AS3 the language is very powerfull. We implement a lot of Business-Applications for the flashplayer with flashbuilder (aka. Flex).  On browsers we have sometimes discussions about the flash player,  especially since Apple vs. Adobe.
But i thought at this time,  air is the "killer environment" for mobile apps. Until now i have only create some apps for android with air and windows desktop, so i have no experience with ios and air. But if i unserstand right, the compiler creates native ios code (what a great feature!). Fast  and i don't need any Xcode steps  (like in Phonegap), yes i know the phonegap-build-service.
So i will be happy, if someone can help me with my decision with two options.
don't use air ,  and only phonegap, mosync or some other platforms like this are the future for cross-plattform development for mobile apps.
We  have a lot of experience in HTML and Javascript development in our company too, so the reason why we are interested on Adobe Air is not "missing knowledge" in web technology, but the HTML, Javascript implementations are slower, hard for debugging,  JS is not typed etc...(this list is subjective).
Air has an future (not only for games, videos and sound)
Pherhaps if anyone from Adobe reads this thread,  a hint   will be welcome.
    Kind Regards
