Enserver not starting up during installation of CE 7.1
Hi,
I am trying to install Netweaver CE version 7.1 SP5 on windows XP. In the installing phase configure UME it stops saying "Instance CE1/SCS01 [PARTIAL] did not start after 5:00 minutes. Giving up.)". and when i checked the log i can see the server status as
name, description, dispstatus, textstatus, starttime, elapsedtime, pid
msg_server.EXE, MessageServer, GREEN, Running, 2008 07 14 12:40:16, 0:05:01, 6120
enserver.EXE, EnqueueServer, GRAY, Stopped, 2008 07 14 12:40:32, 0:00:03, -1
gwrd.EXE, Gateway, GREEN, Running, 2008 07 14 12:40:18, 0:04:59, 5080
from the log i could find that enserver.exe is not able to start up. what could be the reason for that.? i recently changed the virtual memory size. whether it could cause this error?
Hi,
some how I managed to solve this problem.
But now when i am starting the server, the enserver starts and crashes.
I tried to run the enserver stand alone by C:\usr\sap\CE1\SYS\exe\uc\NTI386>enserver.EXE pf=C:\usr\sap\CE1\SYS\profile\ command
Server initialisation failed!
Reason: "generic enqueue error detected at enio.cpp:194 Errorinfo: "Cannot resolve service <sapdp01>""
what could be the reason for this error?
Thanks

Message bean does not start automatically during application server startup
I have a message bean that does not start up during application server startup. I am able to successfully start the application manually using the visual admin tool.I searched the logs and found the following error. The error references the "QueueConnectionFactory" is not deployed or is not started. I have check and the "QueueConnectiopnFactory" is deployed. Is this a problem with the application trying to start before the "QueueConnectionFactory"? Is thier a way to define a dependency on my application not to start until the "QueueConnectionFactory" has been started, if so can how would I define this dependency. Please provide and example.
Thanks,
Bill

Network Adapter could not establish connection during installation
Hi,
I'm trying to install html db v10.2.0.1 and http server on the Fedora Core 4 platform and am getting a "Network Adapter could not establish connection during installation" error. This occurs after pressing Next at on the Specify HTML DB Database Details dialog box. Note that I'm not new to oracle databases or html db. I can't seem to find a similar thread on this forum related to the html db v2 install and I've read the FAQ related to the installation, making sure that I unset the TNS_ADMIN and ORACLE_HOME environment variables before launching the installer. I also checked that I can connect to the database via the listener, sqlplus sys@database as sysdba. I checked the listener status:

Oracle 11g XE listener does not start automatically during boot
Hi,
This happened to me recently I just wanted to share it with you.
For development I was running Standard Edition, at some point I decided to run also XE on the same server for another reasons. Everything was working fine, except that after restart of the server, the XE listener is not starting automatically. Debugging the startup script I found that this happens because of a bug in the code, which assumes that XE listener is running if it finds the word LISTENER within the processes list. I didn't found any obligation in the docs for running XE without any other databases on the same host.
In file /etc/init.d/oracle-xe, at line 556 the code is failing:
1 + status='oracle 2889 1 0 May13 ? 00:00:05 /oracle/ora112se/bin/tnslsnr LISTENER -inherit'
2 + '[' 'oracle 2889 1 0 May13 ? 00:00:05 /oracle/ora112se/bin/tnslsnr LISTENER -inherit' == '' ']'
As you can see I have another listener(the one for SE) running and because of the XE startup script found the keyword LISTENER it’s supposing that the XE LISTENER is already running.
To fix this simply change line 556 from:
1 status=`ps -ef | grep tns | grep oracle`
To:
1 status=`ps -ef | grep tns | grep oracle | grep xe`
Now XE listener is started automatically during boot.

ITunes does not start after Lion installation
hi,
after upgrading to the latest iTunes version and to Lion, I get "The file “iTunes Library.itl” cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. Would you like to download iTunes now?".
Precise:
I upgraded iTunes to the latest version (from the previous one, I am a regular upgrader) yesterday afternoon around 15:00, then I worked several hours on my iTunes library (including some new buys). At night I then installed Lions. After starting Lions, iTunes does not start anymore.
I have read the threads about copying old library files from the "previous iTunes Libraries" folder. But if I do that, I will loose the entire afternoon work. Anyway it I cannot understand why iTunes now believes to be older after Lion installation than before...
Can somebody please help?
br
aHi,
after backing up, I downloaded the latest version again and it really worked.
Strange that evidently the Lion installation did revert yesterdays upgrade from iTunes. Now it works, including all my latest changes from yesterday.
Case solved:)

Portal does not start after RI installation
Hi,
we installed the EP 6 with the RI. The installation went through all steps without problems.
At the end, when the portal should come up, the server does not start. The only message I receive in the trace log is:
arguments :
arg[00] : C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00/j2ee/os_libs/jlaunch.exe
arg[01] : pf=C:\usr\sap\J2E\SYS\profile\J2E_JC00_svrsapep6

[Thr 2892] *** ERROR => Invalid property value [system.id/0] [jstartxx.c 808]
What may be the reason for this and how can we fix this in a way that the server will startup properly?
Thanks in advanceHi,
the error message didn't mean anything. The only problem was that the JVM had a to high memory setting. We were running the portal in a VMWare with just 1.5 GB RAM. When we changed the amount of the heap memory size in the configtool, the portal came up. -
[Solved]Can't get past "Starting network" during installation from USB
I'm trying to do a fresh install of Archlinux on my laptop, following the Beginners Guide. However, I never get to the shell prompt because the installation gets stuck at "Starting network [Busy]".
These are steps I followed:
- I downloaded the latest Arch ISO.
- I wrote it to a usb stick ("Kingston Data Traveler") with "dd if=archlinux.iso of=/dev/sdb"
- I put the usb stick into my laptop (HP Pavilion dm1-4139sd), and booted it. I chose "x86_64". Everything seems to go fine, the only warning I get is: "microcode: failed to load file amd-ucode/microcode_amd.bin".
- I get the message "INIT: Entering runlevel: 3" and "Starting Syslog-NG [Done]", after that its endlessly (at least 20 minutes) stuck on "Starting network [Busy]".
I tried the following variations on the above:
- Wrote the ISO to a different USB, samen problem.
- Tried it with a different Arch version (from August), same problem.
- Turned kvm on and off, same problem.
- Pressed TAB at the "x86_64" line and added "acpi=off" to the end of it. I then get:
:: Triggering uevents....
[ 19.697932 ] usb 1-1: device not accepting address 2, error -110

ERROR: '/dev/disk/by-label/ARCH_201209' device did not show up after 30 seconds....
Falling back to interactive prompt
You can try to fix the problem manually, log out when you are finished
sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
[rootfs /]#
I'm not sure what to do in this prompt. At least the network isn't working and none of the normal commands.
- I reset the DHCP leases on my modem, same problem.
- I turned off/on the hardware WLAN, same problem.
- I tried it with or without the LAN cable plugged in, same problem.
- I tried it with or without the battery plugged in, and with or without the power cable plugged in. Same problem.
I also performed the Arch memory test, and the bios hard disk test. They both report no errors.
I did an Arch installation a month ago on this laptop, and back then it didn't have this problem. I still have that arch installed from back then and it boots/works without problem (I have Starting NetworkingManager [Done]). I know I technically don't need to install arch again, as I still have the old one, but I wanted to clean the changes I made to some settings files and I if it turns out this is some kind of hardware problem I'd like to return it to the store.
Please help! I'm not really that familiar with Linux in general, so it might have been a very basic mistake from me as well. I have no idea what to do next, except for formatting my harddisk (which I don't think should influence the installer?), or trying to install a different Linux distro.
Edit: The solution that solved this problem for me in the end was resetting the BIOS to its defaults.

Yes, I downloaded it using BitTorrent and the MD5 matches.
DSpider wrote:Try a different stick?
Yes, I tried it with 2 different USB sticks. They are both from the same brand ("Kingston DataTraveler"), so I might try different brands as well, but I don't think it is the problem.
DSpider wrote:Or at least a different method from that wiki page. For example, "dd"-ing it should work just fine.
The methods for writing the ISO that I tried so far:
The base method:
dd if=archlinux.iso of=/dev/sdb
(from an Arch install)
The method without overwriting your USB drive (created a FAT32 drive with an VFAT filesystem, from an arch install)
Using Imagewriter (from Windows)
Each method gives the same result: the laptop gets stuck at "Starting network [Busy]" when booted from one of the USB sticks. My modem indicates that it "sees" the laptop, but that the laptop has no established connection. When the laptop is stuck at the "Starting network [Busy]", all the activity on the USB stick stops (the light stops flashing).
The thing I find most strange is that the OS currently installed on the laptop has no problems booting or accessing the internet (both wired and wireless) at all. -

Edited by: 938626 on Jun 5, 2012 12:15 AMHi Akanksha,
Did more digging abt the issue and finally got the OMS server to actually start even after the certificate issue but after that when the script tries to access login page it gets a 404 error and stops the OMS server.
I guess raising an SR is my only way out.....

EPMA Server not starting for New Installation of EPM 11.1.2.2.0
Hi i am having problem of EPMA Server not getting started .... i installed many times and configured but problem still persists that's first time i am installing the EPM suite so plz bear me for any stupid questions.....
I am using :
Oracle Version: 11.2.0.1.0
EPM Version: 11.1.2.2.0
Note:
1. While installing Oracle Client i used first option to install "Oracle Instant Client " with minimum configuration.
2. While configuring Database in " EPM System Configurator" window...in Server name it was not taking exact server name instead was taking "localhost". So i used localhost...Can this be an issue?
In EPM Configuration I got message that "Oracle data access client not installed" is it related to EPM Server.
I am confused about installation is "ODAC" and "Oracle Data Access Client" are same or different. As i am not getting "Oracle Data Access Client" to download.
I just want " Essbase , Planning and Reporting Applications".
Please do help as i need to solve this problem urgently.
Thanks in Advance.
-SushilIs this a personal install of the EPM? If so you may need to install the MS Loopback adaptor for Oracle db first
For EPMA it may be easier just to install the full Oracle Client as it should work then.
Cheers

For some reason I got an error message trying to update itunes on my Vista PC and for some reason could not run itunes. I uninstalled itunes completely and tried to download a new installation. Near the end of the installation I got this error message. "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." I was given the choices of 'cancel', 'retry', and 'abort'. I tried 'retry' and got the same error again. I tried 'abort' and the installation eventually ended in another error and suggested that I reinstall itunes. I was in the administrator's account when I attempted all these things.Has anyone had a similar problem or knows how to get the installation completed?? Thanks for any help.
Hello smittylin,

Encore does not start after Content installation (MAC version)
Hi, sometime ago I tried to use PP Ccv + Encore CS 6 on my i-Mac (I generally use my PC).
After the download and installation of Encore contents, I was unable to start aby jib with Encore : the launch remained pending at the half starting process.A message from OS-X (Maverick updated) indicated that Encore was waiting a Thunderbolt connection which does not exist on my i-Mac.
If I uninstalled the Encore content, Encore started and worked normally.
I sent a "bug report" but now : it seems like a bottle in the ocean.>I sent a "bug report" but now : it seems like a bottle in the ocean
You do know that CS6 is not, and will not be, supported for Mavericks?

[SOLVED] Imapd does not start (only during boot process)
I'm running a courier-imap server.
A few days ago I noticed I did not receive any mails anymore. Then I found my imapd daemon was not running anymore.
I then stopped the daemon process together with the xinetd daemon (which lets me connect to my imap server via my local network).
I restart from a terminal both daemons (imapd an xinetd) and ... everything is up and running ! Note that I have to stop xinetd too because only stopping imapd and restarting doesn't help.
I reboot my PC ... again no imapd anymore. During the boot process I do not get any error message though ...
I'm completely puzzled
The problem started when I upgraded to the linux 3.0.1 kernel ...
Last edited by Strider (2011-08-14 07:59:41)I managed to get the problem solved by removing and re-installing the courier-imap package. Don't know why that solved it though ...

Can not start with an installation on a USB drive Lion on the latest Macbook Pro
Hello,
I have a Macbook Pro mid-2011 and mid-2011 Macbook Air, with Lion.
I created an external hard drive with an installation of Mac OS X Lion, which works fine on both machines.
On the new Macbook pro 13 "I5, it is now impossible to start the installation of external Lion which is on the external usb hard drive.
Have you any idea why?i know this may be silly but i hope you removed the usb device while restarting.
If you did then hold up the option key as soon as you press the power button. It will bring you to a bootfolder selection choose your main partition and boot up. Alternatively if this does not help then do a PRAM and SMC reset. If these things fail then select recovery partition and go to disk utility and repair permisions for the main partition within the first aid section. If all else fails you would need to re install the osx, hope you have a back up.
Since you have not told us what model and year the mbp is if you have the recovery discs with you use disc 2 and read the insturctions on the disc as to what key you should hold.
