I am to ensure that the current server running Exchange 2010, would be working fine with the domain to send out mails. But where to choose Edge Transport below?

You can open the web page in a browser, select all, copy and
paste into Outlook. That works. i don't know about other email
progs.

Help - since 15:00 this afternoon Port 25 timed out and no mail can be sent

Have been sending and receiving mail all day - suddenly with no warning or reason mail cannot be sent from either my account or my wife's (on the same computer using the same ADSL line. The message is that "This message could not be delivered......The connection "smtp.mac.com" on port 25 timed out. All outgoing mail is blocked.

Is there a way to limit the addresses email can be sent to from Mail?
I want to set up Mail on some school computers so students can email photos to a web gallery, but I only want them to be able to send to that address. They will be sending from a .mac account and I don't want the account being used to send other emails.

Start by looking at the logs for an example. There will be some indication in the logs as to what happened to the message.
Depending on how busy your server is, this might be as simple as tail -f /var/log/mail.log while you send such a message from your mail client.

Mail Can be sent but is never delivered

Hi,
I was following the steps below to make it so a message can be received without a subject. After completing those steps I am running into an issue with my messages not getting to the recipient. If I send a message it acts as if it's been sent but the person getting the message doesn't and I get no message saying it could not be delivered. On the other end, if someone send me a message, I never get it and they get no message that tells them the message could not be delivered. This happens will all users of the server (any email address for the server). Any guess at how to fix it or is a reinstall in my future?

Yes, this is a default in Snow Leopard's Postfix configuration (which is the provided MTA).
If you really, truly, don't want that, then see:

For the record, the change needed is:
edit
/etc/postfix/customheaderchecks
by commenting out the line:
/^subject: *$/ REJECT empty subject header
which is done by putting a "#" at the beginning of that line (no actual quotes) like so:
#/^subject: *$/ REJECT empty subject header
After which you should use the Terminal to issue:
sudo postfix reload
And check your logs (mail.log, system.log) for any errors in case you made a typo.
Please, do NOT use a GUI editor or if you must use TextWrangler (shareware) which will at least let you authenticate as admin and not botch the permissions on that file.
However it really is better to learn to use an editor like nano or better yet vi ...

Hi Experts,
System is ECC6.0.
I hv requirement that, the sales orders comes from EDI into SAP. If there is a error in material (like,
non-sellable, not existing etc.), I need to trap this issue/error.....................fine, I did it and working fine.
But, in next step, I need to send out an email to the manager to his/her OUTLOOOK express(NOT work flow account) email account"s inbox, with a standard specified format!!!!
I do NOT think, work flow is necessorily involved here in this scenario!!!
So, let me know that,
1) Is WORK FLOW involvment i there?
2) How to get it done that, sending out email to OUTLOOK express account with a standard format
3) Any FMs, piece of code

I can offer two proposals:
1) Standard report RSEIDOCA is used to actively monitor IDoc processing.
This report can be scheduled in background and reports failed IDocs. Unfortunately SAP did not offer e-mail notification together with this report which is really a shortcoming. However, I have written a modified version of this report which allows to send e-mails (see below).
2) Another scenario we are using is to replace wrong partners/materials with dummy partners or materials ensuring that the IDoc will be processed under all circumstances. In this case we set the Purchase order number supplement (sales order -> header -> tabstrip Order Data: field VBAK-BSTZD) = 'ERR'.
Using a condition (transaction VOFM ) we trigger an ORDRSP IDoc if a new sales order has BSTZD = 'ERR'. This IDoc is forwared to SAP-XI and translated into an e-mail to the customer service.

Mail: can't sent

When I will sent a mail, nothing happens
there is no mail activity and there is no error message
Recieving mail works
But using Eudora it works well

You propably got the SMTP-server wrong. Every wifi-distributor, and every country has a different SMTP-server. Are you on vaccation in a different country? Try to look at your distributors homepage and see if you got the right settings.
You can't send an email from China when you are in the US.

Mail can't send out mail anymore....

hey everyone,
I just downloaded the 5 new apps a few days ago, and everything worked great, until now.
I can receive emails, but i can't send any emails out.
When i touch send, a message pops up saying,
"Cannot send mail. The connection to the outgoing server "(null)" failed.
What does this mean? The messages I've tried to send out, just keep on filling up my outbox. What does this mean? Am i missing something?

Most Internet Service Provider email accounts will only allow you to send email on their server when you are connecting to the Internet over their network connection.

Why do I get the message "Cannot send mail, the user name and or password for my email outgoing server is incorrect"? I use the same account, etc. on my iPhone and haven't any trouble sending mail.

If your email requires a password for the SMTP server you can set it up in the settings in the General mail setup. Some i.e Gmail require a password for SMTP.
Otherwise you will probably get better answers in the iPad forum.

No outgoing mail can be sent

After the iphone 5 update I can no longer send emails from my phone. I receive them but cannot send out. Also all my contacts were erased except for their
mobile numbers. I have an iphone 3gs.

I'm having a similar problem. I can receive from gmail, hotmail, and yahoo. I can send from gmail. I haven't tried to send from yahoo yet. But, I cannot send from hotmail.

OK, Keychain Access has three Keychains, two of which appear identical right down to Date Modified for each password) and a third called X509 Anchors.
Within each of the two apparently identical Keychains is a single POP3 password for my ISP with my email account number in the info box at the top (when I view the other two users's accounts in Mail preferences, their account numbers are the same as this but suffixed by _2 and _3. But, as I say, the only POP password appearing in Keychain Access is mine. Do you mean I should delete it?

Spam emails sent out from my mac/hotmail

Ok. I never had this problem in my 15 years as an email user.
Two weeks ago, spam mails have been sent out from my hotmail account to my contacts. I have changed my password, did the malware scan and removed anything it was flagged.
It has been quiet since then. However, as I logged on today, I noticed 41 mails in my junk folder, labeled as 'Mail System Error - Returned Mail' with the content on some kind of Wal-Mart contest.
Also, I have found one email with the following content:(I have replaced the part where my email was with '(my email was here)'
Any suggestions?? This is driving me crazy!

The way many viruses work on a Windows machine is once it's on there it will mine the address book for e-mail addresses and send out copies of itself using addresses that it finds. So there's nothing you can do on your end. Unless you find all those spam e-mails in your Sent box they weren't sent by you but by somebody with a Windows machine who received an e-mail from you and got a virus.
The address "mta02.xtra.co.nz" shows it was sent from New Zealand. Are you in New Zealand?

E-mails NOT being sent by me!

Two e-mails have been sent out apparently by me (but not actually by me) recently to all in my address book. They are telling people to click on a link contained in the message (both different) links.
Could somebody tell me how I can stop this please? This seems to be spam in reverse!

Hi Kathy. Welcome to the forums.
Please can you go a alter the password for your account - my shortcuts option 3, or via option 12a takes you there.
Whilst you are in webmail, go to Options/Mail (or More) Options and click on POP & Forwarding, to make sure that nothing has been set to forward the BTYahoo! Mail.
It sounds like someone (a hacker) has managed to get the password to your account, hopefully you've not fallen for a phishing scam - where an email pretending to be from BT may have requested you to enter username/password.
