need some clarification concern the below point from -> 1503653.1
Ensure that all database components/objects provided by Oracle are VALID in the source database prior to starting the upgrade.
Ensure that you do not have duplicate objects in the SYS and SYSTEM schema.
Question 1:
what do you really mean by all the database components/ objects provided by oracle are Valid?
does the below object consider an Oracle object? I got to know this objects is invalid after after running -> dbupgdiag.sql

Question 2:
if my user application objects is invalid? Can i still be able to forward with the upgrade?

Ensuring that all Lightroom files are backed up

I'm currently dealing with a few issues with my PC, and it may be that I'll need to have it repaired, which might mean that I'll need to re-install applications such as LR once it's been fixed. I therefore want to ensure that all of my files are protected.
I currently have a solid system for backing up my photo files, so there are no problems there, and I also make regular backups of the catalogue to a seperate drive, so again I have no concerns with losing the catalogue itself. I also keep a backup of the preferences file, just in case I need to trash the one in use so I can then easily recover by replacing it with my copy. The one missing link is that I don't really make any backups of the various presets (having said this, Windows does back them up on a monthly basis).
I figure that, if I need to do a clean re-install, I can drop my prefs file into the relevant folder, overwriting the current one, and that I would just need to have a copy of the presets folder and do the same thing with that... Is my thinking correct here?
When I say presets, I don't just means ones in Develop, I mean things like settings for print templates, export presets, etc. I really don't want to risk losing these and having to set them all up again from scratch.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Yes, the LR user presets of all kinds are stored under the same single location, which can be bodily backed up and later restored. This may include some items belonging to other Adobe applications. The standard factory set of Develop and Export profiles etc, should as far as I know be taken care of by the LR software installation.
I'd also mention any camera calibration profiles you may have downloaded / tweaked / generated yourself; also any lens profiles you have downloaded / tweaked / generated, which live in a different place (similarly shared across LR and ACR if that is present). Also the associated graphic files of any watermarks, layout overlays etc; and any printer etc output profiles you have collected and loaded into your operating system.
Printer drivers often provide a way to save named settings internally, which may represent a lot of invested time and experiment; it is probably worth grabbing those too.

How do I ensure that all IMAP mail is downloaded locally?

I have a Fastmail IMAP account which is apparently unavailable at the moment. To keep the Mail app from endlessly trying to connect to Fastmail, I went into Preferences and unchecked "enable this account". When I did that, all of my Sent mail from this account disappeared from my Sent folder.
I had thought that all of my e-mail was saved and stored locally, but apparently that's not happening. How can I set up my accounts to keep copies of all of my e-mail locally, on my hard drive, so that I can access them even if, for example, my internet connection goes down. A copy on the server is OK, too, but I want local copies of all e-mail.

The account is disabled, so mail is hiding it, but typically the email is still cached on your computer. If you re-enable the account it will show back up.
There used to be a setting to tell Mail what to cache in Accounts->Advanced. I actually don't see the setting any more; perhaps this changed in Mavericks.

I had the exact same issue!! Seriously p*ssed me off when I checked out my ITunes purchased items (via my computer) and noticed that most of the additional tracks listed on my IPhone playlist was listed there too. However, I never authorized any purchases!! (I have actually written Apple Support asking for a full refund of all tracks listed on my purchased list)
Be careful when you swipe your finger to the left/right on those "additional" tracks on your IPhone playlist... I'm pretty sure that the cloud symbol is an option to download or automatically buy those tracks.
Solution for the problem:
1 - go to your IPhone settings
2 - choose "iTunes & App Store"
3 - go to "Show All" & "Music"
4 - turn off "Music" by moving the bar to the left (it should be a white color once you turn it off)

After we upgraded to family sharing, and I now have a new apple id, I find that all the documents on my iPad in pages, are only accessible if i sign in with the original apple id- now my husband's ( he is the primary account holder). Is there an easy way to migrate these documents to my iCloud account, or do i need to email them to myself . There are a couple of hundred documents.

No. I have tried twice. When I turn off pages in the iCloud settings while logged into his account, then my documents in pages just are gone. They return when I turn it back on.

When printing a PDF file I would like to ensure that all 'chapters' print on the odd numbered pages.

I need a way to set up a PDF file so that when I print it all new chapters (and single sided forms) print on the odd pages. These PDFs are available for viewing on the network but occasionally there is a demand to print one of them. Is there a 'chapter start' (or similar command) which will allow the PDF to more properly format when printing.

There's no automated process because I don't think Acrobat could determine what was the beginning of a chapter. However, you can insert blank pages that start the first page of chapters to an odd-numbered page.
In Acrobat XI, that is Tools > Pages > More Insert Options > Insert Blank Page

Hmm its a little bit strange for me.
But I assume there is a tool starting always when the notebook boots up.
Go to RUN and access use the command msconfig.
There you could check what applications start at the beginning.
Then unmark (disable) the process which could cause this message and reboot the notebook.

This setting takes advantage of the Guided Access accessiblity feature in iOS. In order to do it remotely, you will need to rely on an MDM (mobile device management) solution to make that happen. We use JAMF's Casper Suite in our school district. They have a product called Casper Focus that allows our teachers to lock/unlock and "foucs" students into a specific app on their iPads. I like it

When I mail a photo using the sharing facility it goes from my secondary, not my default, email address. The dropdown "from" box does not offer my default (Gmail) address only my secondary and icloud addresses. All emails sent through mail go from my default (Gmail) address. Why does this not show in iphoto?

well this tells you why you are having issues.. since you have a filevault and unless you are logged on as that user TM has no way to backup the vault.
so that is why the backup is so small.
And you cannot remove the file vault because the disk is too small.. you are in catch 22..
You cannot backup and you cannot remove the vault..
Login as the user who has the file vault and copy the files off the computer to a directory on the TC.. Then just delete the files on the computer.. that will then allow you to remove the file vault.
But never will I ever use file vaults so I am being theoretical .. please read it up yourself.

Avoid like the plague file vaults..
When disks go belly up, as they always do.. your files will be lost. Somewhere they need to be stored in the clear.. so why bother .. put better security on the computer and forget vaults.

Zoom JPanel and all its components

Folkses,
I have a JPanel which contains a lot of different components, containers with components, etc.
The components are either images or drawn 'by hand' (overwritten paintComponent).
Is there a simple way of zooming in/out to get the whole picture larger/smaller? I know Graphics2D.scale() but I'm hestitant to implement this in each and every component of my JPanel.

I am also very much interested in this.
Well, you can create an image of a panel and then zoom the image.But I think this will not increase the components' bounds and components would not respond mouse events etc. correctly. Am I right? Then, what is the way of zooming such that all the components respond to events correctly.
