Ensuring Manual journal cannot be posted to the AR sub ledgers

How do i ensure that manual journal entries cannot be posted to the AR and AP sub ledgers? Thanks!

This will depend on roles to which a user(s) has been assigned. you take out GL specific roles from user. Then you have to make sure that AP-AR roles assigned to a user(s) doesn't have journal entry transactions like FB01, FB50 etc.
Please take help of the authorization person. or you can start by analyzing specific AP-AR users using transaction SU01 to find out what type of roles are assigned to them.

Invoice cannot be posted to the accounting

I have not cancelled the fina invoice 920208349, however, it has cancellation number in the document flow.
Neither the invoice nor the cancellation were passed to accounting. And even if we tried to post them to accounting we get an error message saying that document is complete.
Kindly help us what all needs to be checked.

Can you please elaborate the scenario which you are working on ?
I guess, its a STO scenario (intra - company) & you might have created a proforma invoice. Hence there wont be any accounting doc.
Also in case of Proforma invoices we cant cancel it hence we will complete the same so that the status of the invoice will be changed to cancelled.

Manual Journal entry limitations in sap b1

Hi friends,
We are creating Manual JE in sap b1. We give the access only two users for creating Manual JE. Now we will plan one more thing . Limitation of JE . it is means, per user we will go to allow only 1000 manual journal entries only creating by the user. if they reached their limitation we block that . How i will block ? Is it possible in sap b1 ? or any store procedure is there?

Number of Journal Entries could be limited by giving user specific document numbering series for a particular user.

Exchange rate differences posting failed due to manual journal entries

when i run exchange rate differences and try to post the result, system shows "No matching recording found 'journal entry' (OJDT) (ODBC-2028) [message 131-183]" at the bottom panel ane the posting was failed. then i found the problem is actually from manual journal entries made to a business partner. as long as i deselect the manual journal entries, the posting was successfully done.
i am using B1 2007B with pl09. is this standard in B1 2007B that exchange rate differences posting does not work with manual journal entries of BP?

you are right! it is a bug in 2007B.
The posting has no problem if the base reference number is same as the transaction number in the manual JE document. however, if we define a numbering series which is different from the transaction serial number, then we have problem with the posting. System searchs for the JE records by using base reference number as transaction number. That is why it could not find the JE document and then report the error message.
so, where should i post the bug to SAP and let them fix the bug as soon as possible?

While creating the std po I am getting the message you cannot make direct posting to the g/l account 165000
I am working on chart of accounts INT
I have not checked the check box for automatic posting
error mesage that I am getting
No direct postings can be made to G/L acct. 165000 in CoCode BP01

Diagnosis
The G/L account you entered is a control account. Transactions cannot be posted direct to a control account.
Procedure
Check your input.
Inform the individual or section responsible for G/L accounts in the relevant company code.

Goto Transaction code FS00, enter the G/L account 160000.
enter the company code BP01.
Click on display, if the system says account does not exist, click on create with refernce or template
In the popu enter the G/L account 160000 & compnay code 0001.
Please ensure this account is flagged as Balance sheet account, Recon. account for acct type - K Vendors.
now do the postings.

Error within Manual Journal Posting

Presently I am using Oracle R12.1.1. While making Manual Journal Posting I am getting the below error.
Error6 - Showing an unbalanced journal entry but suspense not allowed

Hi Hitesh,
In R12 the functionality for suspense accounting is slightly changed: having an account code entered at ledger level means suspense accounting is enabled.There is no longer a checkbox to enable/disable suspense accounting.
To define a suspense account:
1. Navigate to the Suspense Accounts window.
2. Specify the Ledger.
3. Specify the Source and Category that applies to the suspense account you are defining.
The default suspense account you specified when you defined your ledger appears with the source and category Other. You can define additional suspense accounts using Other for either the source or the category, but not both.
Note that if you update the suspense account in the Ledger Options page in Accounting Setup Manager, the default suspense account is updated in the Suspense Accounts window. Likewise, if you update the default account in the Suspense Accounts window, the account in the Ledger Options page is updated.
4. Enter the Account against which the balancing amount should be posted. You can assign multiple unique combinations of source and category to a single account.

Park and Post management review step for manual journal entries

We are implementing SAP and want to discuss the best way to automate in SAP a high dollar/value (maybe $100K and above) "park and post" management review step for posting manual journal entries. I believe SAP does not offer dollar/value limits as standard functionality for defining a park & post process. If this correct, what have you seen from your other clients using SAP park & post? Is there a different way to get where we want without customizing a workflow or generating a new transaction set?

Hi you could limit the authorisation for the users only to park and then a responsible person could review it and post. You can set a tolerance limit for customers and vendors.

Is it possible to make the attachment icon on my journals form a compulsary step when creating a new manual journal entry?

Our company uses EBS 11.5.10.2. The company has a policy whereby any new manual journal needs to have the supporting documentation attached to it, using the attachment icon in the task bar.
Users sometimes forget to do this, though. This has now prompted management to request that we try and make this process of attaching a document when creating a new manual journal compulsary to the process.
Is this possible on the current version we are running on?

Well, that depends on if you are using client/server or web. Currently there is a bug being investigated, which is preventing the cursor size from being altered. For client/server, do the following on the client machine (assuming Windows):
Control Panel > Accessibility Options > Display > Cursor Width
By increasing the width, the cursor will be more visible. The same is expected to work on the web, but currently is problematic and being investigated.

Manually Manage Music Option get error The iPod cannot be updated error(-50

I am following the instructions on how to move music to a new computer. When I get to the step "Switch the iPod to manual update and enable disk use" and try to apply the 'Manually manage music' option, I get the following error: 'The iPod (my iPod) cannot be updated. An unknown error occurred (-50). I have tried moving my dock between the two USB ports on my Dell but nothing works..can someone help?

I tried some additional things and it seems to have fixed the problem.
First, I forced the iPod Service to close using the Windows task manager (control-alt-delete and then closing it). I then restored my iPod to its original factory settings using that option in iTunes.
I renamed the iPod and then set up what I wanted to sync with it. I have made a couple of changes and they have worked.

Manual Payroll cheques post to the GL

Dear Gurus!
Is there a check box or what the configuration required might be to change the way that Manual Payroll cheques post to the GL?
Currently if more than one manual cheque is posted they are posted in total amount to the bank GL, not individual amounts for each person.
i.e. if on one pay period 2 people got manual cheques, one for $500 and one for $1500, the amount that posts to the GL is $2000. The Finance team has a hard time determining when the cheques clear which amounts to clear in the GL as they do not have access to FCHN to get the Payroll cheque information.
Will be thankful for every opinion/advice!

Hi Tatiana,
Possibly that print check program was never run for the employees using transaction PC00_M10_FFOC.
Please note that you will need a check lot and banking configuration set-up done for this transaction to run successfully.
Table REGUH stores information about your pre-dme for each of employee for run number and run identification.
You will need to check table PAYR and see if the employees have entry in it and if they have then if they have check number or not.
Table PAYR is read by check register to find employees' check numbers.
Hope this helps.
If you see check numbers in table PAYR for employee, please verify if you have entered correct selection on selection screen for check register importantly the check box for Payroll Checks is checked.
Also, if possible please send across screenshot of your selection screen.

I assume that you you tried tapping and holding down on the document and the keyboard would not pop up and the insertion point did not appear.
If you want to start with a clean slate, tap the Documents button in the upper left corner. When in thumbnail view you can tap the edit button in the upper right - find that blank document that you just closed - tap on it and then tap the trash can in the upper left to delete it.
To start with a new document - tap the + button in the upper left corner and tap Create New Document.

I have turned off, removed apps, tried to reinstall them. iTunes can't download them either, the updates for them won't work.
Never had problems with iPhones until now and this has really annoyed me... Apps have cost me money have had to go because they won't function
the error messages say that data cannot be downloaded at this time and it is ot because I do not have free space because I have removed items to make sure there is room!

HT3819 I have synced my ipad and iphone 5 to itunes and all my songs appear in the device library but i cannot ply all of the songs unless via home sharing. How can i ensure that my libraries appear on each device as the syncing process seems to be failin

I don't think I have made myself clear... I have recently upgraded my iPhone 4 to a 5 so everything was set up to sync with no problems at all. I transferred everything across to my new device by iCloud and everything appears as it was on my old device including on the face of it my music library. However, I cannot play all of the songs in fact the majority! When at home I can access the entire library via home sharing but that is no use away from the house. I never had this problem with iPhone 4 and although I am automatically syncing the device to iTunes it is not working. If I try to play songs via the device it skips until it finds a song that cAn be played and if I try and play the device via the laptop/iTunes an ! Type signal appears and I cannot play the song!
Any ideas re solutions would be appreciated???

Never-mind. I found out what's causing this issue. On Twitter's website support page, I found this: https://support.twitter.com/articles/20156423-posting-photos-on-twitter it gives info about posting photos on Twitter; well, it says: "photos must be 5 MB or lower, and GIF's must be 6 MB or lower".
Please share this info to all Mac, or iDevice users who are having this issue. Thank you!
