Enter password to unlock disk not working
I have an external disk that I used for Time Machine, originally under Mavericks on my MBP. I then upgraded to Yosemite and was having issues with the upgrade route and so did a fresh install of Yosemite on my MBP at the advice of AppleCare reps. That corrected the problems with my MBP, however, now I can no longer use my external drive. Once connected I get the dialog box requesting the password to unlock it. I entered my previous login password, my alternate password, new one and just about every password I would typically use (and a lot of their variations) all to no avail.
It is absolutely imperative that I get the data off this drive as I have files that are irreplaceable on it. I have tried going through terminal and recovery mode and using what I thought was the recovery key but to no avail. It's not in my keychain and if it were, well it's on the external drive locked away.
There was an article detailing allowing users to be able to decrypt the drive. Is it because of the fresh install and my account is not allowed why this no longer works?
Is there something else I can try?
Anyone else have a similar situation and solution?

Just try a Restore with iTunes.

The only way to access the iPhone is by entering the correct passcode. If you cannot remember it or have disabled the iPhone then you will need to restore to factory settings via recovery mode as shown in the article below:

i am an IT manager for a bank. we have several company owned iphones. WE have also implemented a mobile device management system to manage our iphones.
We setup acompany based itunes account, trying to share itunes on bank owned devices. This way i can add bank approved apps to the devices through our itunes account and push out to the iphones, and no one can download any other non bank approved apps.
it has been working ok. but recently i had one user who came in. He went to enter in his itunes account on the phone and didn't work. So then came back and my staff and myself have (as much as we can see) removed his email account itunes login from all sections in settings. and entered in our itunes account information, but when you go to the app store, and hit upgrade, it still shows his email account for itunes. I feel like i can't get all devices to keep our shared password on them without requesting user to enter password (which i am not giving them)
How can i troubleshoot his device. i tried changing password 5 times today, rebooted device, and no change.
Jenn McGlynni have an MDM application, and i push out the apps i want them to have with our IT apple id account. for some reason when two approved apps needed updating last week, they prompted him for our password. (which i told him to bring phone in and i would enter password).
but somehow he went to try to enter his personal to make it work (don't know why)
somewhere it's keeping his personal email. i went into itunes/apps and our apple id is in there.
there is nothing in icloud b/c we do not allow icloud, so that's clear. -
I have tried to log into my apple account so I can download my songs onto my iPhone. It keeps telling me my apple id is disabled. I've tried resetting my password but that did not work. How can I fix this?
After resetting your password you might then need to log out of your account on your device by phone on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores if it's on iOS 6) and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it

I got new Apple TV 10 days back,its not asking for the WIFI password.Home sharing is not working,i am getting Error while streaming videos from Youtube.

You need to get some software that allows your Mac to read and write to the NTFS disk. There's a whole bunch of stuff out there, but this program has a good review, and you can try it for free. I would move everything off of your external drive, reformat it into Mac OSX extended, and use it for your Mac. You don't need NTFS anymore, unless you still have a Windows computer that needs it.

I never set up a passcode for my iPad 2 but it is locked and I can't unlock it. The "slide to unlock" does not work. Any suggestions on how to unlock it?
You have to slide to unlock to bring up the keyboard if a passcode is set. If you can't slide then try the following:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order -

The previous owner has not given you the correct ID and password for you to use.

Careless? Possible, but unlikely. Most likely the phone was stolen from the first owner. It would be a VERY careless iPhone owner who did not erase their personal information from a phone before selling it, and to do that it is necessary to disable Activation Lock. In most places in the world knowingly using stolen property is a crime, so the fact that the phone doesn't work may be the least of one's risks. -
iPhone 4s: Slide to unlock doea not work. Phone receives calls and messages but we cannot answer. We have tried numberous times to turn on/off to no avail.
It sounds like your phone is broken.

atleast once in a week the slide to unlock will not work in my iphone 4 and this is happening from the day i have upgraded to ios7. to access my iphone i have to a switch off and then switch on. really frustrating never expected this from Apple.

Reset the device by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds until te white Apple logo appears

I have two yahoo mail accounts. I went to bed and both were accessible on my iphone. I woke up and one was not able to receive any mail. I have deleted the account and added it back and changed the password. Still does not work. Any help?
Download the yahoo email app, if you already deleted and reinstalled the email account and still have issue.
