Entered incorrect email address in apps store

I accidentally entered a mis-spelled (omitted a letter) email account into the apps store site so registration details could not be sent to email. Now I am locked out. Help in words on one syable as I am a bit of a technophobe.

You can only remove it by restoring as new.

Entered incorrect email address when setting up Apple ID, also 'redeemed' $50 iTunes card before mistake was realised. Naturally, the email address cannot be validated, so cannot proceed further. Please help.

You can't merge IDs, but if you want to change the ID:
For iMessage, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID sign out, sign back in using the new ID.
For FaceTime, do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.
For Purchasing, do this in Settings>iTunes & App Store.
For iCloud, start by saving your photo stream photos to your camera roll by opening your My Photo Stream album, tap Select, tap all the photos you want to save, tap the share icon (box with upward pointing arrow), then tap Save to Camera Roll. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and provide the password and choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted, then sign back in with your new ID and choose Merge to upload your data.

I can't remove previous owners email address from App Store so can't use - advice please!!

Settings/iTunes & App Stores. Tap the Apple ID. Tap Sign out. Then sign in with your Apple ID. However, if the phone still has Find my iPhone enabled with the previous owner's Apple ID then the phone will be useless to you until you get the previous owner to release Activation Lock on the phone.

  • Wrong email address on app store when asking for password

    Hi.
I have the Iphone4 and today I was offered 4 updates for my apps. 3 downloaded but the Paypal update didn't. I then tried to update the Paypal app and the Iphone asked me to put my password in. I entered it but it said the password was wrong. I then noticed that the email address that was displayed wasn't mine, it was my house mate's.
When I go into settings and look at the app store settings I am logged in as me. I tried logging out and back in again but it still does it. If I download another app it just does it without asking for a password so I can't see if it's just Paypal.
Can anyone help me please? I'm really confused.
    Thanks

    Hi.
I just worked it out then came on here to update to say I no longer need help and you're right.
Basically he had the paypal app on his phone and backed them up on the pc. Then he synced my phone for me and accidentally put paypal on which was obviously his app.
    Thanks for your help anyway.

  • I changed my email address but App Store is not updated

I changed my email address and it has been verified and I get emails from Apple to this new address, but when I go to App Store and try to update on my iPad the little box gives my old email address, so when I put in the correct password it says 'your Apple ID or password is incorrect'. Any help would be welcome.

I take it that the old email address was your Apple ID. It sounds like you created a new Apple ID with your new email address. Unfortunately that was not the best way to go about the issue. Instead of making a new Apple ID, your should have just changed the email address for the old Apple ID.
Changing the email address you use for your Apple ID -
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621
Now the issue is that content bought with your old Apple ID will be forever associated with that Apple ID. There is no way to change that. Apple does not transfer content from one ID to another ID. So the only way that you will be able to update the content bought with the old ID is to use the old ID. There is no way around that fact.

That means that you did not buy the apps using your Apple account. Niel has the correct answer.

  • Photosmart 7520 entered incorrect email address on HP scan to email.

Can't delete incorrect email because it wants my pin.  Keeps sending my pin to the incorrect email that I entered.  How can I delete this?

    Hello lkclark,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see that you can not find a way to remove an Email from the Scan to Email App. Have you tried to delete the App and re-install it?
To do this, log into HPConnected.com. Click Services and then make sure the printer is selected. Click Settings and then Remove this Printable. Using the Search box, type Scan to Email and install the App again.
Let me know if this helped.

  • HT201269 Mystery email address in app store

My new iPhone 5s has someone else's email address listed when I try to update my apps. I cannot sync to my computer All the settings in iTunes & App Store are correct. Help!

That is a little more involved than just being prompted with another Apple ID when trying to install an app update.
Try logging out of your Apple ID with iTunes on your computer followed by logging back in. At the iTunes menu bar go to Store and select Sign Out. Follow this by signing back in.
If no change after this, try deauthorizing your computer with iTunes followed by reauthorizing your computer with your Apple ID. iTunes menu bar > Store > Deauthorize this computer followed by reauthorizing the computer with your Apple ID at the same location.
All apps, all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account or Apple ID that was used to download the apps. Apps downloaded with one Apple ID cannot be merged with or transferred to another Apple ID.
Does this occur when trying to update any of the apps on your iPhone with an app update available, or just with a select app?
How did this Sprint store transfer the data from your old 4S to the new 5S? With a computer at the store, or direct with the iPhone selecting your iCloud account back for the iPhone 4S?

  • I have entered a incorrect email address, so cannot update an app I purchased. The email does not exist. How do I delete and use my primary Apple ID

I have used an incorrect email address for my Apple ID  when I punched an App. Cannot get updates. How do I delete and use my primary account email address?

Delete and redownload that application when signed into the correct Apple ID. This may require repurchasing it.

  • Want To Delete Incorrect Email Address In Mail.

I typed an incorrect email address in a new email.
I immediately corrected it, but every time I start typing the address, the incorrect one as well as the correct one appears.
I would like to delete the wrong one as I am worried that on some future occasion I might accidentally choose it.
Can it be deleted? (Note - it is NOT in my Address Book).
    Ian.

Check the list of Previous Recipients in Mail.
At the Mail.app menu bar, go to Window and select Previous Recipients.
A previous recipient already entered in the Address Book will have a vCard icon to the left of the name or email address.
You can remove a previous recipient from the list or add a previous recipient to the Address Book that is not already entered.

  • I have received a weird email from the App Store about the iCloud...

I got a weird email from the App Store saying this...
    Dear iCloud Member,
Your annual subscription was set to renew on Oct 20th, 2012 PDT.Attempt to do so has failed.
This may occour as a result of change of credit card or billing address. Please take a minute.

The thing was, when I clicked on the login thing, it took me to another site and I instantly shut the server down before anything happened. Is this a real email or is it a fake? Has anyone else had this? I have already updated from one to the other so I don't know why I am receiving this.

As long as you didn't enter your iCloud username and password on the site the link took you too, you will be ok.
If you did, change your password immediately, and be vigilant for any suspicious activity in your account.

  • Changed email address now apps won't update

I changed my email address with iTunes store and in the Store settings on my Touch (1st Gen, software 3.1.3). Everything syncs OK, but I can't update my apps because the pop-up account verification box on my Touch still contains my old email address and it can't be changed. In the iTunes store in shows that I have updates available, but when I click to view them is says that I have none.
I've tried the suggestion at this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2543640&tstart=45
without any success. I have reset my iPod without success.
    Any help appreciated

iTunes Store Customer Support eventually came up with the solution. Apparently you can't update your iTunes Store account using MobileMe ID. I tried that but the process created a new account instead, without my knowledge, using my advised change of email address as the account name. I signed in to the iTunes Store with this newly created account and the updates proceeded without a problem. I also changed the Store settings in my iPod to the new account, and I can now update my apps that way as well. My only problem now is that I have at least 5 iTunes Store accounts, perhaps more, and they cannot be merged. Hmmmm ...

  • How do I delete a incorrect email address I typed in a sent email from the suggested email list when I start typing again?

How do I delete a incorrect email address I typed in a sent email from the suggested email address list when I start typing again?

You can't. There is no way to eliminate those remembered addresses in the mail app. Eventually if you keep ignoring that address it will go away, but it can take some time before it disappears. The only way that you can eliminate now, is by restoring the iPad to factory settings and that's pretty radical just to get rid of a mistyped email address - IMO anyway.
