Entering a foreign credit card to an American Apple ID
Hi,
i have an american apple ID but i don't live in the US.
i'm trying to enter my local credit card and i'm getting the next message:
Your credit card information does not match your banks records.
Please enter a U.S credit card and a matching billing address
how do i solve this problem?

I am having issues with my Apple ID and iTunes. I can log into the Apple ID with no issues on the Apple website and on my iPhone and computer but as soon as I try and do an update to my 51 Apps that need to be updated it says "Apple ID as been disabled" and I have contacted iTunes and they said that my credit card was hacked so they shut it off. So I tried to enter a different credit card in iTunes and it says invalid. But it is not its a brand new card and I have used it multiple times and there is more then enough room on that card. I am upset because this has been going on for over 6 months now and if i make a new iTunes account all my stuff will be lost.

Thanx very much Amishcake , your link was very helpful. i followed the steps and when i got to the part where you enter card details on my iphone , i discovered that the last two options after amex that is 4. discover 5. None , are not part on the options i get on my iphone so i dont get to choose the none option. Am really worried.

For a credit card to be accepted (debit cards and prepaid cards won't be) it needs to be registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are. -
I try to update or download apps but my credit card expired can I download a free app with out taking me to the payment method? Or I have to enter a new credit card ?

You must have your iTunes and App Stores set to the same country that your billing information is based in (i.e.: must use a US credit card in US iTunes and App Stores).
If you move to another country, you need to change the country of your iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, and Mac App Store account. Otherwise, your credit card might not work as payment. For example, only German credit cards can be used to buy content from the German iTunes and App stores.

Thanks a lot for your help ,What country are you in ? If you are in the US then you can only use the US iTune store, and you can't use a Canadian credit card with the US store - a credit card needs to have been issued by a bank in the country where you are.
If you are in Canada then remove your old credit card from your account and then update your country/region and billing address on your account e.g. by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone and 'view Apple id' on the popup, or via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes -

That simply isn't possible, I'm afraid. US iTunes accounts, will require a US credit card with a US address.
