Entering ITunes password every time it want to rent movie

I Have Apple TV 2nd generation. Every time I want to rent a movie or show I have to enter my password , even for purchases on the same day.
this started happening with the last software upgrade. What can I do to save my password for ITunes in Apple TV?

Hello rsaugust,
The option to save your Apple ID is selectable when signing into your Apple ID in Settings, as detailed below.
Sign in to the iTunes Store
From the main Apple TV menu, choose Settings > iTunes Store.
If your location and iTunes account already appear here, skip to the next section.
Select Location.
Scroll to highlight your location and select it.
Press the Menu button on the remote once to return to the previous screen.
Select Sign in.
Enter your Apple ID and password. If you don't have an Apple ID, create one using iTunes on your computer. (The password is case-sensitive.) Note: If your Apple ID is an AOL account, you'll need to convert it to work with Apple TV. If you need help converting your AOL account, please contact iTunes Store Customer Service.
Apple TV will give you the option to remember your password. Select Yes if you want to save the password.
Press and hold the Menu button to return to the main Apple TV menu.

  • Is there a way to access my voicemail without having to enter my password every time?

Is there a way to access my voicemail without having to enter my password every time?  Or is the only way to check emails is to click on the voicemail icon and enter password?

For that, you would probably have to create a contact and place it on your homescreen. I don't know if there are any settings where you can have the voicemail icon automatically call, although there may be. You can name the contact you place on your homescreen "call voicemail" or "voicemail", though.
Edit: keep in mind by setting up your voicemail number like I had previously described, anyone with access to your phone will now have access to your voicemails. If you are like me, though, that won't bother you.

Back up all data before proceeding.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select
              Change Settings for Keychain "login"
In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
    From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
    If the box marked
              Keep login keychain unlocked
    is not checked, check it.
    Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

  • Sign in with username and password every time I want to check emails on my PC using iCloud?

Signing in with username and password every time I want to check emails on my PC using iCloud
Having convinced my parents to get rid of their old AOL account and sign up for iCloud to sync their new iPhone with their old PC running Windows 7, I thought I was on to a winner. All working OK but is there any other way to get into emails besides going on iCloud website and signing in with name and password everytime? Can it be set up as a Mail account directly like on a Mac? Or using Outlook or Entourage? Help! I'm not a PC person!!
    ELF

If they have Win 7 or 8, and Outlook 2007 or newer then you can.
Just download the iCloud Control Panel for Windows. Install and select the services you want (Mail Contacts and Calendars will appear in Outlook)

  • I have to renew my password every time I want to sign in.

Please can you help - every time I want to log in to the discussion forums, I get a red message telling me my password has been incorrectly entered. I use the same password and I have to go through resetting it every time. Why could this be happening? Do I have a bug?

    Hi Lindart,
Apologies if I was being presumptious in dismissing your issue as being a server-side problem without first going through the proper troubleshooting procedures. Just to let you know, your thread in the Safari forum is still active should you choose to post more information in the future.
    All the best!

  • How can I change the settings on entering a password every time something is bought

The problem is I put the password in once and get an app for my son and it is unlocked for a number of minutes I wants it to b locked rite away! Cause he is purchasing things while it is unlocked. Is there any way to have this changed to promp with password every time something is downloaded in the future?

You can't change the time, which is 15 minutes, after which you don't have to re-enter your password, but I think that signing out of your account when you've downloaded what you want will work : Settings > Store > Sign Out . Or just wait 15 minutes before handing the phone over.

  • How do I change the settings for when a password must be entered? I currently have to submit every time itunes opens, every time I want to access the store etc!??

Every time I open itunes I have to put in my password, I also have to enter my password to access the store, my account etc even though I have already entered it on openening the programme - it is extremely annoying!! I'm sure there must be a way to change the password settings but I can't seem to find how! Any help would be much appreciated!

Check the settings in Gmail for whether each email opens in a new tab or the same tab.

  • I want to keep my iteunes apple password stored on my apple tv device, so i do not have to enter it in front of people, every time I want to rent or purchse, or even watch a movie on my apple tv

I would like to keep my apple itunes store password stored on my apple tv device, so I do not need to re-enter it everytime I want to watch or rent a movie.  it is uncomfortable to have to enter it in front of NON family members

I'm having a little trouble understanding the part about your password having to be reset. Why is that happening??
    Let's start with Firefox's settings:
    (1) You can configure the password manager feature on this tab:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Security
There is a checkbox to enable/disable the feature.
There also is a "Saved Passwords" button to review and remove any passwords you do not want Firefox to keep.
That tab also has a feature to set a Master Password so that no one can use your saved passwords without knowing the Master Password. You may need to exit Firefox in order for Firefox to ask for that again.
    Related articles:
    * [[Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox]]

    (2) Site-specific permissions
If you want to use the password manager for other sites but NOT a particular site, you can configure that in the Permissions Manager.
In a new tab, type or paste '''about:permissions''' in the address bar and press Enter.
After the page loads, use the search box in the upper left corner to narrow down the list to the site you want to configure. Highlight the site on the left side, and on the right side, choose Block under Store Passwords.
    (3) Form autocomplete suggestions
Separate from passwords, Firefox remembers entries you've made into forms (in most cases) and lists the matching ones below the form field in a drop-down.
To clear a suggestion, press the down arrow key to highlight it and press the Delete key.
To turn off this feature, see this article: [[Control whether Firefox automatically fills in forms with your information]].
To review and selectively edit or delete form history entries, you need an add-on. For example, you could try this one: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/form-history-control/

  • Is there a way to bypass entering your account password every time you want to download something from the store.?

The app store interface is maddening. if i enter my password wrong once i have to reset it?! much fail.
all im trying to do is download a free program, why do i have to enter payment information? i dont mind. but why cant i just skip it. so when i actually want to make a monetary purchase i can enter my information then?!

Security. Anything less would be easy for folks to hack your account.

  • How can I use T-bird without entering a password every time?

I just downloaded T-bird. It asks for a password each time I open the program. I tried to set up a master password so it would automatically enter the account password, but now it just prompts for the master password. How can I get the program to remember my password so I don't have to enter it? This is a home PC that no one else uses.

The master password is to protect access to any stored email account passwords. As you found out this has nothing to do with what you are trying to accomplish.
When the email password dialog box appears fill in your email password and check the box for Thunderbird to remember the password.

  • Why does my Apple TV 3 launch itunes songs every time I start watching a movie on netflix?

I just set it up and have gone through all the available trouble shooting but every time I launch a movie in netflix, my laptop starts to play songs. how can I make it stop.   also, iTunes does not see AppleTV as a device and it doesn't show up on FInder either.  Is this normal?

    Diesel Vdub,
thanks for the info - I will try the power the Router and ATV boxes, I can see why that may help since I did upgarde the ATV on the 2nd May (which is when these problems started) so I can say I beleive that the ATV is running the latest software. I'll let you know if rebooting both boxes helps.

  • Why is it that I need to put in my id password every time I want to erase a file on my laptop?

Why am I requested to put my Id password everytime I want to delete a file on my Macbook pro.I think I must have done a change in the setting somewhere. But it was not like that before. Thanks in advance.

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags -h nouchg,nouappnd,noschg,nosappnd {} + -exec chown -h $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -h -N {} + -type d -exec chmod -h +x {} + 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
    resetp
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.
