Enterprise CC Acrobat XI won't install. It looks like a good install, but no sign of it!

I have put numerous packages on a suite of various up to date Macs, all of which have installed successfully.
Lastly, I try to put on Acrobat Pro and although it says Successful installation, there is no sign of it anywhere.
When I do a search, the only thing I can find is the uninstaller!
Any ideas?

Thanks Bill, but I didn't find my answer in there either.
Helen, I've got it working using the following method.
Using the Packager, I selected "Custom settings"
I unticked the "Disable Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application" box.
I reinstalled under the "Build" folder,
I then installed over that from the "Exceptions" folder (which was empty under the previous package).
On build, it asked for a serial, which wouldn't accept my enterprise serial so I used the trial version.
On successful build, it opened and I have a trial period of 37 THOUSAND days before it stops working.
That should see me to retirement!

Acrobat XI won't install in English. How do I change that?

    Hi,
I have few questions for you :
    1. Are you on windows or Macinstosh OS.
    2. By default Acrobat installs in OS language. So I would want to know what is your OS language. Is some language pack applied by default?
    3. In case of windows OS, You can choose language of installation by double-clicking "Setup.exe". A pop-up windows comes up which has list of languages. Choose the language to be installed in this drop-down and only that language will be installed.
    4. In case you have already Installed Acrobat, you can change display language by going to Edit -> Preferences - > Language. In the drop-down against application Language : Choose the option "Choose at Application start-up". Close Acrobat. Launch it again. A drop-down will be presented. Choose "English"  here.
    OR,
Press down CTRL + SHIFT and Double-click Acrobat shortcut. A drop-down will be presented to select the display language.

  • Cannot install Acrobat X Pro. AAM says "installed" - but no sign of the "Launch app" option.

The Adobe Application Manager states Acrobat X Pro is installed but there is no "Launch App" option.
I have succesfully installed Ai, Ps and Id, but Acrobat X Pro is giving me a headache!
The app installed with a warning and 2 errors. (I did not save the text about this event - and I cannot repeat the operation that led me there,)
I can recall some detail from the text:
    • The installer could not remove data from an (old?) file from my Acrobat 9 installation.
    • There was a reference to the installer "lacking permission(s)" for some operation.
    • Also, some reference to my computer not supporting several "requirements".
I have since uninstalled my Acrobat 9 installation, but cannot uninstall Acrobat X Pro. (It is not listed under "Programs & Features".)
I also cannot re-install Acrobat X Pro - the AAM won't let me.
Any ideas? Can I download a trial-copy, then try to install that? Would it be recognized by the AAM?

Thank you, Baljeet - that worked well - However, the now installed Acrobat X Pro version 10,1.1.33 apparently needs a update/patch to upgrade Acrobat to vs. 10.1.3, and after much effort and many forum-suggested fixes, I cannot complete the update. (It "rolls-back" and reports an Error 1310. Error writing to file: C:\Config.Msi\2c4f05.rbf. Verify.......access to that directory.")
I have also received the same ("1310") error, but referencing a lack of sufficient "permission to modify....a certain file". (I can't now recall which file.)
To further complicate matters, my Secunia P.S. Inspector app also reported the need for an update - which did not complete either. It is now perpetually "Waiting for update to complete".
I hope you can solve this problem too! Thanks.

  • Adobe acrobat 8 won't install with Indesign and Dreamweaver CS4

I have a client who I had to build a new computer for which is Windows XP Pro. On her original machine I had AA8, InDesign CS4, DreamWeaver CS4, Contribute CS5, Adobe Reader 9.3 and Adobe Photoshop 6. I have tried puting AA8 on the new machine that has all of the above on it and I get a response that I have a newer version of AA and it won't install. I don't have any AA on this machine so I'm not sure what to do. She says she can't edit PDFs or combine them and that she can't create a PDF ind Word and Xcel and edit them. Should I tell her to upgrade to AA9 so that it is compatible to the CS4/5 products?
    Thanks,

    Thank you Bill for replying.
I have been able to install the disc but it tells me that I have to activate it with a time limit of 30 days and counting.  Activation fails each time I've tried.  As I'm nearing the end of the time limit I decided to contact Adobe for advice.  They gave me a download package and new serial number but it's only suitable for OS XP and Windows 2000 so I'm unable to download it.  I was told by the advisor if I still had problems to use the forum as a means of support so that's why I'm talking to people here.
I have uninstalled Adobe Acrobate Pro 7, so I might try reinstalling the disc to see if it gives me another 30 days grace, that, at least, would be a way around it.
I'll now follow the link you've given me.   Though I do suspect I'm in a bit of a cul de sac.

  • Acrobat XI won't install if My Documents is redirected

We've seen this issue with Adobe Acrobat as well as HP print drivers and a few other installers. To say it is frustrating is an understatement. Hoping someone can shed some light on this.
As a standard part of our workstation setups, we edit the properties on the My Documents library and change it's location from C:\users\username\documents to H:\Documents  (H: is mapped to a network "home" drive for each user). This ensures that the user's files are saved on the network, where they get backed up daily.
However, several installers seem to take issue with this and won't install, saying they can't find the H: drive. Adobe's installer is among the guilty parties.
We have a work-around for the issue... we change the My Documents library back to it's default c: drive location. Run the install, then re-direct it back to the network volume after the install completes.  We have observed that the installer writes nothing to this path (even checking hidden/system files), so it obviously doesn't really need this path to function.
What is the issue here, and why hasn't Adobe and other vendors addressed it? We know we aren't the only company who redirects libraries in this manner. It's good practice to safeguard your users data. Why do the installers barf on this?
    Inquiring minds want to know!

  • Acrobat Pro CS5.5 installed but won't work with my serialnumber

    hi,
in 2012 I bought and downloaded CS5.5 and installed it completely. Never used Acrobat Pro though. Today I would like to but. Adobe Application Manager opens and asks to type the serialnumber. As I copied it from my LWS account and  pasted it, the manager says it is not valid for this product? How can this be? What can I do? Anybody an idea? Thanks, Axel

  • Adobe Acrobat XI won't install on the specified drive

I have Creative Cloud settings set to install all application on drive D: because C: drive is low on space. I have Muse and Photoshop already installed on drive D: but when I try to install Acorbat XI it tries to install it on C: and i get an "insufficient disk space" error.
Why do all the other application install on D: as specified in the settings, but Acrobat keeps trying to install on C:?
    How can i fix this?

Moving this discussion to the Acrobat Installation & Update Issues forum.
Urshah it is likely that Acrobat is not recognizing the custom install location due to the utilization of different installation technology than the majority of Adobe Creative software titles included in a Creative Cloud Membership.
I would recommend uninstalling Acrobat utilizing the process listed in Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.
You can then download a copy of Acrobat 11 Professional from Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X.  You can select a custom install location and install Acrobat in trial mode.  Once installed please choose the option to License this Software and enter the Adobe ID tied to your membership.  You can find additional details at Convert Creative Suite 6 applications to Creative Cloud membership.

  • Acrobat XI Pro successfully installed, but it failed in converting word files into PDF, why?

I just installed Adobe XI Pro through the download assistant, it looks the installation went well, but when I tried to convert word files into PDF (tried many times), it failed. Anyone has the same problems, any solutions?

Please reply with more information - what your operating system is, do you have Office installed, and what exactly is happening. Is there an error message, does the application crash, and from where are you starting the conversion (using Word and PDFMaker, using Acrobat's Create button, or batch processing).

  • No Recovery - Mountain Lion won't install but Lion Recovery worked (until Mountain Lion messed it up).

When I tried to install Mountain Lion it gave me the "this disk does not support some features, like FileVault or Recovery Mode..." message.  However, my Lion install at that point had a working Recovery Partition (I confirmed it after I got this first message - booted with it).  I also have a cloned backup so I clicked continue.  The install failed and gave the "No Recovery" message.  Then I tried to boot in Recovery Mode and a screen came up saying "Installing" and the giant X with what looked like a progress bar with diagonal blue lines moving left to right, but no "time remaining" or other info indicating it was doing anything.  I let this go on for about 10 or 15 minutes then restarted my computer.  In Disk Utility I repaired permissions and disk repair was ok. I'm not using RAID or BootCamp - just one partition (plus the Lion Recovery one.  The Mac is a newest model MacMini with an OWC SSD (I first thought the SSD might be the problem but it worked with Lion, so...)

    Just Follow this procedure...
    1.     Go To BOOT CAMP and create a BLANK PARTITION. Say a minimum of 10 GB. You do not have to install anything on this.
    2. After you create this, go back to ML installer and now you will see 2 HD's. one will be your main HD and the second one will be the one you just created.
    3. Install the ML OS X on the main hard drive. Once installed, reboot the machine go to DISK UTILITY and delete the blank partition you had created.
    4. So, now you have your HD at its full capacity.
    Try this it should work.

  • Acrobat 9 won't install from CS4 dvd

Yesterday, I reported an issue with Acrobat.  A users PC crashed a few weeks ago & I reinstalled CS4 from the original DVD we purchased.  All applications installed except for Acrobat.  I was instructed to download CS4 from the following website:  http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs4-product-downloads.html
then install Acrobat only.  However, when I attempt to install it, the computer hangs at "Preparing to Install..."  The PC isn't frozen, I just can't get the installer to move forward.  Adobe won't help since this is an older version.  All my online searches regarding this issue simply reveal that many other users have the same problem installing Acrobat from DVD - but I can't find anyone who has a solution.  Has anyone in this forum found a work-around to get Acrobat 9 installed?

The Acrobat 9 download won't accept my CS4 license.  What I ended up doing was jumping through several hoops to get this to work:
Edited Acrobat out of the registry - no change, still pauses during installation
    Uninstall CS4 entirely
Run Adobe CS4 Clean Script - see http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs4clean.html
    Run Microsoft Installer Cleanup program
    Reinstall CS4 including Acrobat
Neither the registry edit, Clean Script or Microsoft installer cleanup fix the problem on their own.  Yet, when I did them all in succession, Acrobat installed successfully - finally!  I hope this information spares someone else from investing too many hours to fix their installation problem.

  • Acrobat X won't install on Mac 10.8.2

Got a shiny new MacBook Pro. Copied over my CS6 programs from previous Mac. Got errors on some of my programs, so I re-installed the CS6 suite. Went to use it. All programs up and running, but can't find Acrobat. Anywhere. Tried to install just Acrobat again. No dice. Restarted. Uninstalled and re-installed entire suite. Again no Acrobat. Restarted. Tried again to re-install three times.
I just want to use F*ing Acrobat to update a file. Thank you Adobe for screwing up three days' worth of deadlines. About to pull out my hair. I am starting to lose my faith in Adobe. Do they really want to go the way of Quark (didn't care about customers, put profit first, etc.)?
Any help you all could give would be much appreciated.

So you does the CS6 installer report that Acrobat wasn't installed when you do the attempt?  My guess is that it does report it,  but that's neither here nor there.  Do a little test and report the results back to the Forum.  Open the Terminal app on Mac OS X.  Type "sudo" without the quotes and hit the Return/Enter key. Do your results look something like this:
sudo: can't open /private/etc/sudoers: Permission denied
sudo: no valid sudoers sources found, quitting
If so, then you have a Mac OS X Permissions issue and need to call Apple to help fix it at the command line.

  • Acrobat 9 won't install updates (cant close porgram)

I have installed Adobe creative suite 3 and adobe acrobat 9 standard. Every time acrobat starts it tells me updates are available do you wish to install. I say yes and it tells me that it must shut down acrobat to do this. Do you want to continue or cancel? I hit continue, it shuts down acrobat and then 30 seconds later tells me it was unable to shut down acrobat and that it will not install updates. For some reason the installer thinks Acrobat is running whenever it tries to install updates even if it is not. We have reinstalled my adobe creative suite package and this allowed me to run updates in acrobat one time. 2 weeks later I am not able to install updates again. Any thoughts on what this could be? I am running windows XP.
    thanks for any help,
    -ryan

Thanks for your feedback. I tried doing what you suggested. (It turns out that I actually have acrobat 8.1.0 standard)Acrobat tells me I need to install security update 8.1.2. I download this file from the link you sent me and tried to install it manually. Now I get a warning that tells me the window installer cannot install update because the program is missing or upgrade patch may be for a different version.
    Any thoughts
