Enterprise Compensatio Management Business Content

Hi,
In my current project, we are going to implement the Enterprise Compensation Managemet business content. Reviewing the different structures available for the reporting, I saw most of the reports have been created on ODS objects or Infosets. I'm concerned about it, from a performance point of view, so it's not possible to optimize them through the use of aggregates (I know the ODS objects can be optimized using secondary indexes, but this cause problems when loading the data). I would like to know the reason why SAP has configured the model this way: if it's a very new business content, and it hasn't been developed completely by SAP, or if there's a good reason for it that I'm missing. One option for us is to create custom cubes, but in this case, we should replicate all the reporting.
Has somebody experience in implementing this module, or has been in a similar situation?
Thanks in advance for your help

Hi David,
At the moment there is no standard business content for SAP Records Management. There is for case management (via SAP CRM objects) but not for SAP RM.
It maybe difficult to build such content because every documentclass (of a record or document) creates it's own tables for storing the metadata and other data (about 16 tables).
Also as mentioned the structure of the record is an XML document so not easy extractable from a table.

Tjalling-Jan

  • BI 7 Service Management Business Content

Hi Fellows: I've never worked with Service Management. I was asked to put together all the names of Standard Business content Infocubes and Queries. I was told by one of the R/3 consultant that I would find those cubes and Queries under QM since the data was to come from Plant Maintenance. Is that right? He listed the following cubes for me to look into
    Notifications: 0QM_C10
    Notifications - Activities: 0QM_C07
    Notification - Tasks: 0QM_C08
    Notifications - Items: 0QM__C09
    Notifications - Causes: 0QM_C06
    Service Orders - OCS_C02
    Service Orders - Operations: OCS_C03
Service Orders: Costs and Allocation: 0CS_C01
    Simulated Maintenance Costs: 0PM_C05
Budget Data for Plant Maintenance (Transactional): 0PM_C06
Plant Maintenance Budget Data (MultiProvider): 0PM_MC01
Any help would be greatly appreciated and points rendered for sure. Thanks
    B

Ravi (or anyone else who can answer this in case Ravi is busy): thanks again for answering the questions. I right clicked the infocube 0QM_C10 in the 'BI Content' section and selected 'Display Description'. I then get the detailed metadata of the infocube. Perfect so far. I then click on the link that says 'Network display of the data flow', where I get the detailed data flow and its wonderful. The only issue is that the DataSources listed in the diagram are not listed as the datasources for the Customer Service DataSources in help.sap.com. Any reason for that?
Does that mean I need to activate all the datasources and infoobject for QM and Customer Service under Production Planning?
Hope I didn't confuse you. Thanks again.
P.S. for Sayed: if you get a little white blank screen then just maximize it and wait for a short while. Also see if you can scroll up or down. The diagram might be hidden.

  • Finance SCM - Dispute Management Business content activation

    Hi,
Got a work on a new requirement to activate all the standard reports available in FISCM-DM
all the reports names are given
Can you please tell me the way how to identify what are all the multi providers , cubes , DSO's data sources need to be activated from the business content considering the list of queries
I mean how to start the analysis.
    Please reply asap
    Thanks Sruthi

    HI Sruthi,
Please follow the below step to activate the standard object :
i)Go to RSA1 (Admistrator Workbench) for installing the Business Content. Navigate to object you want to install. Now you want to install the info object then select Info Object.
ii)Select your Info Object say Query.Click on Transfer selections.
iii)Now when the object is selected. It will always be in default selection (Only Necessary object), Now if you want to install the various other things like data source, transformation rule etc as you specify in query
iv) For that go to grouping select IN DATAFLOW BEFORE AND AFTERWARDS. One more thing If you want to specify the Source system then u can do it by clicking on that Yellow Box (symbol specify the source system) adjacent to BEx (Truck Symbol). This mainly used for the things like transformation, update rule etc as you want.
v)Now you want to see if there can be some predictive error then go Install --> Simulate Installation.
vi)Now important point to note is MATCH(X) or COPY. Now suppose you already have the query install in your system in Active version. Now here if you didnu2019t select the MATCH check box then your A-version Query will be overwritten by the D-version query provided by SAP.
vii)For ur more understanding lets take the example say you have added two CKF to Query now twist is SAP has also just release the enhance Query with two more selctions. Now you are very curious of getting this two selections in your already active query. For this you will be required to install the queryfrom Business content. If you forget to check the Match option then your already added CKF will be lost. So to retain them we have to check the MATCH(X)
    Hope it will help.

  • Business Content for Record Management System

    Hi all,
Does anybody know if there is any available Business Content in the last release of BW, (SAP NW 2004s Add on 3)?
As far as I know, in prior releases , there isn´t any available BC to extract information from a RMS.
I know there are some BAPIs to reach the content in RMS and I wonder if we can use these to extract the information from RMS to BW.
Has anybody ever faced this kind of BW project?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I'm just facing the same problem, and I got the same conclusion that you: RMS Business Content is not available, and no news about its availability on future releases.
It would be nice to post something here if someone gets a way of extracting data (that BAPIs don't sound like an easy job).
    Have a look:

    Hi SRX,
If you use only the ABAP components of an SAP NetWeaver stack, you should use the standard process to implement, configure and activate BI content. 1. You download and update SAP Solution Manager content.
    2. In SAP Solution Manager, you select your business scenario.
    3. In SAP Solution Manager, you adapt your business scenario.
    4. In the software lifecycle manager (part of usage type AS Java), you check your IT landscape for required products.
    5. In the software lifecycle manager, you check your IT landscape for required content software components.
    6. In the Administrator Workbench (part of usage type BI) or Portal Content Studio (part of usage type EP), you install any missing business content shipment units.
    7. In SAP Solution Manager, you generate a configuration task list.
    8. In the Administrator Workbench or Portal Content Studio, you configure content objects.
    9. In the Administrator Workbench or Portal Content Studio, you activate selected content objects.
    10. You test and transport your changes.

  • Enterprise Compensation Management (ECM) Info Request

I apologize for this elementary question, but can someone point me to a link on how to setup ECM - both on the portal side and the abap side if applicable? I have scoured the web and can find lots of information on what ECM is and how to use it, but I can't find any technical information. Is it an sca file that I need to download or is it a switch I need to turn on? Any information at this point would be helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
For any technical details or configurational details of ECM you should go through following documentations
    1) K86: Enterprise Compensation Management
    Business Process Procedure
    and
    Enterprise Compensation Management (K11)
    Building Block Configuration Guide
Both these documents will help you alot in understanding ECM

Visual Business seems a convenient way to display enterprise asset management data in a geospatial form within Web Dynpro. I can see that some work has already been done in the ERP system to support Visual Business in the enterprise asset management area - see Package EAMS_VB.
I've not been able to find is any collateral materials that outline the capabilities or intended capabilities of Visual Business in EAM. Is anyone able to point me to such materials?

    Hi Andrew,

  • Problem in installation of Business Content for Solution Manager

    Hi all,
I have a problem while trying to install the Business Content for Solution Manager. In detail, I cannot install/ see the Process chains. I am not much familiar with Business content installation, so maybe I missed and /or some step.
Following the instructions from SAP IMG (SPRO/ SAP IMG / Solution Manager / Configuration / Scenario-specific settings / Solution monitoring / BI Reporting / BI Client) , I activated the Datasource 0SM_SMG_ROOT , performed all the steps and installed all the relevant Business Objects  (Infoobjects, Datasources, Infocubes, Infopackages, etc.). All the objects seen from transaction RSA1 seem correctly installed and activated.
The last step is the installation/activation of the Process chains. This step is executed, but the installation job terminates with messages like  “Infopackage 0SM_XXXX does not exist in D version; activation not possible”. It seems like Process chains are looking for some Infopackage, and these are not present. They are not present indeed, and I don’t know why. The result is that no Process chain is visible from transaction RSPC.
Am I missing some step, or doing a wrong/ incomplete procedure ?
    Thanks a lot

    HI Saravanan,
For Solman Service Desk, the following objects are used :
    Cube : 0CSRV_C01
    DSO  : 0CRM_PROH
    DataSource  :  0CRM_SRV_PROCESS_H
And apart from this there are some MD datasources, for BPARTNER, USER STATUS, CATEGORY etc.
