Enterprise Compensation Management (ECM) Info Request

I apologize for this elementary question, but can someone point me to a link on how to setup ECM - both on the portal side and the abap side if applicable? I have scoured the web and can find lots of information on what ECM is and how to use it, but I can't find any technical information. Is it an sca file that I need to download or is it a switch I need to turn on? Any information at this point would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
For any technical details or configurational details of ECM you should go through following documentations
1) K86: Enterprise Compensation Management
Business Process Procedure
and
Enterprise Compensation Management (K11)
Building Block Configuration Guide
Both these documents will help you alot in understanding ECM

  • Enterprise Compensation Management (ECM 5.0)

    Hi,
Question, in ECC 5.0 and/or ECC 6.0 when doing compensation planning via MSS, I wanted to see if anyone know if there is a flag or switch to resolve this issue.
When you have multiple compensation plans attached to a compensation review period, in MSS planning you have multiple tabs. For example Merit, Equity, and Special Adjustment. Let say when a person receives only MERIT, but nothing on the other two, infotype 0759 gets created with a blank record for equity and special adjustment because it was part of the compensation review package.
Is there a flag or switch to disable that and only create infotype 0759 if there is an amount, in this case for MERIT only?

    Hi Kevin,
As you noted the IT0759 is created, but this is actually good history!  How could you refute an employee who says "My boss said I was getting a Special Adjustment and it is not on my paycheck!".  You want that "$0.00" record in the IT0759.  You do not want any change to IT0008 or IT0015 if there is no adjustment entered and none is created upon activation.  But you do want the IT0759 for proof as to what the manager did enter - no increase.
We have used ECM for the past two years.  We maintain the IT0759 as history and also have three types of increases - Merit, Market and Lump Sum.  Most people will get a merit, some a market adjustment and a few a lump sum amount or they may receive more than one.  But even if no entry is made, we want to make sure the manager has "Submitted" the $0.00 record.  This way we can verify the manager has consider each employee - $0.00 can be a valid amount if no increase is given!  Also, this is referenced when you do a history view of the employee's salary in ECM.  Thus, the $0.00 amount record is a valid record and should be maintained.

  • Enterprise Compensation Management - Mass date change of IT 0759

We run ECC 5.0 SP45 (for HR)
We currently use the Enterprise Compensation Management (ECM) process for our Merit Increases and Bonus assignments.
This year, at the end of the process (meaning that everyone is in Approved status on IT 0759), Management decided to change the effective date of the Merit Increases.
Does anyone have a suggestion (other than create a bdc session) that would allow me to mass change the effective date of this particular comp. review item on IT 0759, without impacting the bonus review item?

    Hi Laural,
Instead of BDC, you can use the ECM function modules.
Get the infotype data through HR_ECM_READ_INFOTYPE
and change the data through HR_ECM_MODIFY_INFOTYPE.
And the BEGDA and ENDDA in 759 would be the same as of the payment date. So you would be changing both dates here to the new payment date.
I cannot think of any other alternative solution.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,

  • Budget functionality in MSS ECM, Enterprise Compensation Management

    Hi,
Is there anyone who was able to use and setup the budget functionality from Enterprise Compensation Management in MSS.
We followed all the configuration guides on ECM and were not able to view (and or use) any Budget iviews in MSS related to ECM.
(PS. There are no ECM budget iViews at all.)
Here we use ECM in the SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 with MSS business package 60.1 and backend SAP HR 4.7 on SAP WAS 6.20.
Please let me know how you did this.
    Many thanks.
    Ramon Spaan

    Hello Ramon
Could u  tell me what are the settings you had ready in place before you started the config for CM.
I know we need the PA,PSA,EG,ESG for determining the eligibility. Apart from that , what about any other settings or info we need from the users in particular ? IS there a standard list ?
Would we need any infotypes to be populated prior ?
Since MSS would use ECM and we are config on 4.7 vrsion2, do I take into account infotypes such as 0759 and 0758 in addition to 0381 for the settings ?

  • Enterprise Compensation Management Info Cube

SAP BI contains a special enterprise compensation management InfoCube and queries that can be used to analyze all compensation data in detail. Now, if one has to use R/3 4.6C for the backend compensation management, can this InfoCube (using BW 3.5 on NW '04) be leveraged?...or, does the back-end have to be upgraded to the '04 Business Suite level?
Quick response from someone who has done it or from SAP will be highly appreciated!!!

    Bryan,
Great response. One last question: The comment you have made about what we get with "BI Content 3.5.1 (same as BI Content 3.3 Add-on)" in terms of the "1 InfoCube, enabling the evaluation of LTI awards" is of particular interest to us. To leverage this BI content, what should be in the back end? In other words, can I leverage this BI business content using R/3 4.6C in the backend or will I need to upgrade to mySAP ERP (NW '04) and mySAP HCM?
    Thanks and regards,

  • Compensation management & Enterprise Compensation Management

    Hi Experts,
My client is planning to go for Compensation Management module.
Now with Talent Management EHP-6/7 Compensation is falling under Talent Management which is a built in functionality.
Client does not have any Compensation Management in Play.
They have only 2 components of:
Incentive given to emplopyee per year,Bonus per year & salary survey, in this situation which would be a better solution to follwo.
My question here is whether we should go for conventional Compensation managent or Enterprise Compensation Management.
    Plz guide.

    Yury thanks for the info,
    Can i use the infotypes
LTI grant: LTI Grant Infotype (0761)
    Eligibility Override Infotype (0760)
I think these used be in Comp.Mgmt
& client doesnt have any budgeting, how to
    by pass that.
    plz guide.

  • Enterprise Compensation Management without Budgeting & LTI

    Hi Experts,
Please guide me whether we can go ahed witout configuring or maintaining the Budgeting & LTI sections in Enterprise Compensation Management.
Client does not have any budgeting practices, only Bonus(Yearly),Incentives(Yearly),Salary survey
Salary changes sometims happens in the organization.
We want to maintain only above practices.
Can any one please suggest me on the same & let me know if yes the which all aares  we can cover to go ahead.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Budgeting & LTI are not required for you to implement SAP Enterprise Compensation Management. They are seperate sub-modules within ECM. From what it sounds like your requirements are just to implement annual bonus and merit each year. If this is the case you can implement only the "Compensation Administration" section within ECM. This would be located in the SAP IMG under Personnel Management --> Enterprise Compensation Management --> Compensation Administration.
    Thanks,
    Imran

  • Enterprise Compensation Management ECC6.0

    Hi Gurus,
We are currenlty unsing Compensation Management on 4.6c. We are going to upgrade to ECC6.0 and want to use Enterprise Compensation Management. Can configuration of Compensation Management of 4.6c be reused or do we have to Configure ECM from scratch?
    Thanks

Q: We use PA-CM already for some countries and want to implement
PA-EC for other countries. Do we have to replace PA-CM by PA-EC for
    all countries at once?
A: Most of the functionality of old and new Compensation can be used
in parallel in the same system. The two modules use different
database tables, transactions, and Portal iViews. But there are a
few restrictions concerning integration of the LTI application with
other modules. The following functionality can only be used for
    either PA-EC or PA-CM:
    a) Payroll of LTI exercises (payroll function XLTI)
    b) Display of LTI in the Total Compensation Statement
    c) Stock Option Accounting (accruals for costs caused by LTI
       exercises)
This functionality reads data from PA-EC, if the flag 'Switch for
Activating Enterprise Compensation Mgmt' in the IMG step 'Activate
Enterprise Compensation Management' is set. Otherwise, it reads the
    data of PA-CM.

  • How to activate Enterprise Compensation  Management

    Hi
I am trying to activate ECM . I am on ECC5.0 on support pack
    SAP_HR 500 0028 SAPKE50028 Human Resources HR Support Package
I activated table T77S0 and the entry HRECM ECMO abd put the value X . But i still not see the ECm activated in IMG.
What extra needs to be done.

Did you activate ECM in IMG? ie Activate Enterprise Compensation Management under the section Global Settings of the IMG ( SPRO) .
    ~Suresh
The entry in T77S0 should be 'X' for ECMON, but you mentioned ECMO was that a typo?

  • Enterprise Compensation management Planning iView

    Hello,
We're busy implementing ECM for ECC6 and Portal 7.  On the Compensation Planning iView and page, there is a link to 'Show Statistics' and according to SAP's formal documentation, this could be eliminated from the page/iView, if the user so desired.
The iView has no recognizable property for this functionality to be put on or off.
Does anyone have an idea where this could be disabled?
    Help with be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Charmaine

    Hi,
We actually had a customer message opened for this with SAP.  Please follow below steps (you'll need the Self-Service role):
    1. Select the Define Perspectives for the ECM Planning FPM Application.
           a. Portal Content->Content Provided by SAP->srvconfig->com.sap.pct.erp.srvconfig.mss->Enterprise Compensation Management->FPM Applications-> ECM Planning
    2. Select the CAP View tab.
    3. Select the Additional Information CAP item and Delete.
    4. Select the Plan perspective.  Select the Show Statistics CAP item and Delete.
    5. Save all changes.
    Hope this works.

ECM is one of the fastest growing areas in the industry - Sun has not embraced this but Oracle, IBM, EMC and Microsoft are seeing huge growth and expect it to continue for years to come. Bottom line unstructured data is difficult to manage = opportunity.
ECM specialists are very hard to come by these days, I know of many organizations who just cannot recruit high quality staff (both vendors and end users).
Frankly if you had skills in any of the above today you would have your pick of job's and a good rate to go with it.

  • Query in Enterprise Compensation Management and Budgetting

    Dear All,
I am working on a new project on Enterprise Compensation Management and Manpower Budgetting. I have some doubts in this area as given below:
    1. Can I do a manpower budgetting for the future as to if there is an additional requirement of manpower in some department, can I take the requirement and perform manpower budgetting.
    2. Can the budgetting made in HR be used for budgetting in FI.
    3. Is budgetting in HR intergrated with FI or CO.
These requirements are becasuse in our organisation, the finance department want to create a budget for 2012 in which they want the manpower cost to be included for 2012.
Please let me know if this can be done through SAP PCP and prove me some links where in I can get some document like PPT or configuration document with which I can do the same.
Expecting a reply and thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Vijay.

    Dear All,
