Enterprise Edition on 2 dual core CPU server?

Will the enterprise edition of ColdFusion that is licensed
for 2 CPUs work on a server with 2 dual core CPUs (Dell PowerEdge
2950), and use them to full benefit?
Thanks. -bg

Yes.

CF will, but ultimately that depends on your code.

  • For virtualization, what processor can replace Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU T4500 of Compaq 620?

    Dear HP community,
    I bought a Compaq 620 Energy Star notebook 3 years ago, and its processor is Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU T4500, but without virtualization feature. For supporting virtualization etc features, can you recommend a suitable processor to replace it without replacing the other components, and the notebook still perform as well as before? Moreover, what tools are required to replace the processor?
    Thank you very much for your help !

    i did some research, it looks like that the compaq 620 energy star notebook can  be upgraded to have virtualization feature by only replace the CPU (support virtualization), without replaceing any other components, e.g. the motherboard. it is much appreciated if anyone can help to confirm this.
    moreover, it is said that it is not good to replace the component like CPU of a notebook, because some of the notebook components are soldered to the motherboard, but i'm thinking this doesn't mean the notebook components can't be replaced. with the right tools, the right apporaches and with caution, the notebook components, like the CPU, can be replaced. it is much appreciated if any one can help to confirm this as well.
    if only upgrade the CPU (with virtualization feature) which is supported by the current motherboard (compaq 620 energy star), can the whole notebook system support virtualization technology (including motherboard, BIOS, CPU etc)?
    please do help to answer the above questions, and give me the firmed advice on upgrading the whole system to enable virtualization feature. i don't have enough budget to purchase the new computer system, so perfer to upgrade.
    thank you very much for your help in deed !

  • ENVY 15t-1100 CTO (NX346AV) Dual core CPU upgrade?

    Hello Experts,
    I have the Laptop noted above (15t-1100 CTO) and I would like to replace the quad core i7-i820QM CPU (its a Clarksfield variant of Nehalem - Socket G1) with a faster (more power efficient) Dual Core CPU.  I purchased a i7 620M (more power efficient dual core also on Socket G1) and when installed in the laptop, it POSTS, but Windows will always crash 1/2 way through the boot, reguardless if I'm on the original install of the Windows 7 OS, or trying to boot a Windows 7/8 Install CD (via USB).  I feel that the board lacks support for this CPU (any of the dual core CPUs really), but I cannot find confirmation anywhere.  Also note, I had to remove 2 of the 4 ram sticks to even get this far (leaving a single ram stick on each channel.. I'm assuming partly due to the dual core supporting only 2 memory chanels.
    Please advise

    HI kylematinfox:
    I hope you had a super weekend!
    I understand you are having some difficulties after doing an upgrade. I am sending you the link to the user guide for your computer  click here. I am also sending you a link to Replacing the Motherboard click here. If you replaced the motherboard have you tried doing a bios update?If you require further assistance would you please provide the details of any changes you have made.

  • Intel Dual-Core CPU temperature Range?

    I am a bit puzzled by exactly what is the reasonable temperature range for an Intel Dual-Core CPU. I currently own a PPC MacMini which never goes above 43C. I also have a system with Athlon64 and the CPU doesn't go over 50C. The number of 80C just seems unreasonable.
    While I can understand some people think the high temperature is ok as long as the surface is not uncomfortable to touch, I can't help but wondering what effect it has to the CPU itself; or to the other components.
    Anyone knows where to find such information (operating temperature range) from Intel?

    You are familar with desktop processors and their associated temperatures. It is fairly common for notebooks CPUs to run anywhere between 50C - 80C. Intel specs the Core processors to 100C before the CPU starts throttling down to reduce the CPU temp.

  • Getting the most out of my dual core cpu

    hi all, i have written an app which loops through a for loop within a for loop to send out tasks
    i.e.
    for( int i = 0; i < train.length; i++)
    //load training file
    for( int j = 0; j < test.length; j++ )
    //load testing file
    //train vs test
    now that i have purchased aintel dual core e6600, what should i do to make the most out of it, system monitor currently tells me that one cpu is maxed out nad say 10% of the second cpu is in use so basically one cpu is idle, i would much rather be doing two of these tests at once, one by each cpu...i was thinking of making the tarin vs test part a thread and just keep calling start, but i am worried that as once the start has been made, another will be started and so on...and i dont want hundreds waiting to go as i ahve millions of these tests to do and i wont be able to hold it all in memory so i only want two running at a time, can anyone please help by offering some suggestions
    thanks
    Danny =)

    i dont think you can control this from java.
    Chances are that there is either a java version for that CPU + OS, in which case the JVM knowns what it is running on and how to make the system calls to manage the CPUs it uses. I really have 'doubt' that this is the case.
    Most likely the JVM knows nothing about the dual core and the OS takes care of it, and even more likely the OS doesnt know anything about dual core and the hardware takes care of it.
    i would think that its done mostly in hardware and a little bit on the OS level. I dont think applications should care about schedueling and let the OS/HW take care of that.

    I have the same problem with this following error trying to install the Dual Core Center 2.0.0.6 : "runtime error. Could not call proc".
    How can I fix the problem ? I use Windows Vista Ultimate Edition 64.
    In other words, MSI Dual Core Center does not support Windows Vista 64.  You can try CoreTemp, but again since you have x64 you need to read this:  http://www.alcpu.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=211

  • Will a dual core cpu fit im my Satellite 2410-504

    HI Im thinking of upgrading my cpu to dual core I have a Satellite S2410-504 socket 478 mPGA , im want to put a Intel core duo sl9bn inside. Will this work?
    any help please

    A Core Duo would be a bit faster but wont make a huge difference.
    I had a look at the online brochures, it looks like you can install a 2.2GHz Pentium 4 in that model, which should make a noticeable difference in speed.
    There is no way a Core Duo will work with the Chipset in the 2410. There is too much of a generation gap. The Pentium M came out after the P4, which I doubt would work either.
    When a new CPU comes out, it is released alongside a new Chipset chip. The new Chipset supports new features of the CPU, along with power management changes, and the update to DDR2.
    Basically, if you want to use a Core Duo CPU, you need a mainboard with something like an i965 chipset (Northbridge) that has support for the Core Duo architecture. You cannot upgrade the chipset on a mainboard.

  • BI enterprise edition installation;all on just one server

    Hi everybody,
    I am going to install Oracle business intelligence 11 on linux x86-64 platform.As it needs a database to be installed I have to install Oracle 11gR2 on the same server.
    I was reading Oracle BI documentation that I came across this sentence:
    The database must be up and running, and does not have to be on the same computer where you are installing the components
    I know base on distribution it is better to separate BI repository(Oracle database) and its application.
    What if I want to use same server for both?Any special error or prevention by Installer?
    All the best,

    Hi Arash,
    The recommendation to have different hosts for each component of your BI environment is mostly to optimize performance in production systems, for development and demo environments you can have the whole stack installed in a single system.
    RCU is a separate download, you can find it at the bottom of this page:

  • Audition 2.0 CPU load with dual core CPU in multitrack

    When I use AA2.0 Multitrack in real time, both CPU Cores are used for rendering the efects and I can reach  an overall CPU load of amount 80-90%.
    When I use the export meue for the Audio mixdown, the CPU load reaches only 50%, because only one core makes the whole work an the secon core makes nothing.
    Is there a fault in my configuration or is this normal?
    Thanks a lot
    long john

    Unfortunately normal - certainly for AA2.0, which was never really optimised properly. Really, 2.0 can only be regarded as a 'late beta' - an upgrade to 3.0.1 would be a good (and relatively cheap) move.

  • Licensing and quad core CPU`s

    Hi I hope someone can help me here.
    We have CF8 enterprise edition installed on a 32 bit OS with 2 dual core CPU`s.
    What I want to know is, can I use the same license to migrate CF8 to a new server that has a 64 bit OS with 2 quad core CPU`s.
    Also are there any other issues to take into account?.
    Any thoughts from anyone who has experience with this kind of thing would be appreciated. Thank you :-)
    P.S I tried asking Adobe customer support but it was a waste of time, they couldnt understand the question. My question does make sense right?

    Seconded. Once of the nice things about their licensing is that it actually specified "physical" cpus rather than just cores, as Microsoft stuff often does.
    Twin octo-core CPUs for the win!
