Enterprise HANA- SLT/ODP

Hello
we are planning to get Enterprise HANA. we are already on BWOH ( BW 7.3).
I have couple of questions:
1. For Real time data -  is SLT the best option ( considering SAP's future roadmap)?
2. In order to use ODP's -  can some one please point me to the configuration and steps? ( Intention is use ODP enabled DS into BW as well to the replicate SAP/Non SAP data in real time to HANA studio)
3. when we create a new Source System in BW for the ODP/ECC extractors and enable the DS for ODP what happens to the "existing extractors."
Do we get a "separate" delta Que in ECC- one for ODP data source and one for the existing BW system.? In otyher words, do we control on the delta's?
4. can we use ODP for BW 7.31 or do we need BW 7.4?
Thanks
Kalyan

  • Enterprise HANA on Cloud vs on-premise

    Hi,
As I understand Enterprise HANA on cloud is a monthly subscription model where a client bound by stiff budget constraints can start off with HANA implementation. Ofcourse, it does offer more advantages as well.
With all of this, I wonder why I haven't seen many HANA on Cloud customers as opposed to on-premise.
Can someone please help me look at the disadvantages of Having a Cloud based solution?
    Thanks,
    Shyam

  • HANA SLT Schema selections

    Hi ,
We have  SLT server with 2 configurations setup (schema) , DEV and QA. on one of these configurations we are using transformation with an include where it is calling a source system via RFC. Normally we would point SLT Dev to ECC dev , SLT QA to ECC QA etc but in this case we wanted to point SLT Dev to another system based on the current configuration ID.
I was trying to get that info from SY table in runtime but couldn't find a way to debug the include.
    1. Is there a way to debug include in transformation in runtime ( I tried a hard code break point with no luck).
    2. Can I find out using a case statment which configuration is being used ? this will drive the RFC to the correct source system.
    Thank you,
    Nick

    Hey Nick
you may want to move this and the other SLT related question to the SAP LT Replication Server forum.

  • How to replicate cluster table into BW on HANA using SLT?

    Hi Members,
We have a requirement to replicate cluster table from SAP ECC (Ex:BSEG) into BW 7.4 on HANA using SLT. We know that HANA SLT is capable of replicating cluster table but it looks like BW-SLT is not capable of doing the same.
Please clarify on this and any documentation in this regard will be very helpful.
Also wondering if the current release of BW-SLT can be used to replicate Cluster tables from SAP?
    Thanks & Regards
    Shankar Chintada

    Hi Shankar,
I dont understand , why you have doubt on BW-SLT???
Using SLT you can replicate the tables pool or cluster .
If you have more specific requirment please share the details
As per above information in your enviorment it is possible.
You can check below thread for more infor.

  • Benefits/ Limitations when we use  SAP HANA Extended and Standard products.

    Hi All,
We are going to purchase SAP HANA media. Please let me know what are the benefits/ limitations when we use  SAP HANA Extended and Standard products.
    Thanks in Advance,

    Hello,
please check Master Guide (page 9 - chapter 1.6 Software Components)
    https://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700000604552011
There you can find edition comparison and detailed description.
    To extract the short summary:
Platform edition = SAP HANA Database + Studio + Client + Host Agent + Information Composer
Enterprise edition = (Platform edition) + LT Replication Add-on (SLT) + LT Replication Server (SLT) + SAP BO Data Services
Enterprise extended edition = (Enterprise edition) + Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise + Sybase Replication Server + Sybase Replication Server Agent + SAP HANA load controller
It depends on what licenses you already have and how do you intends to use HANA.
Platform edition = ETL via BO Data Services (you already have license for BO Data Services)
Enterprise edition = SLT and/or BO Data Services (including licenses)
Enterprise extended edition = all replication technologies

  • Anyone tried this - Extract data from HANA Live reuse views into BW?

    Hello Experts,
I've read from this blog http://scn.sap.com/community/bw-hana/blog/2014/05/26/go-hybrid--sap-hana-live-sap-bw-data-integration that this scenario
    > "Loading of data into BW using Reuse Layer of SAP HANA Live as data source (Extract data from HANA Live reuse views into BW)" is possible.
Does anyone has a step by step guide on how to do this? Can you please share?

    Hi Nicky,
As per my knowledge, there is no separate licensing required for HANA studio. License for HANA d/b or Enterprise HANA license is sufficient.
Installation of HANA studio will not ask for any licenses.

  • Predictive Analytics using BW on HANA

    Hi,
Can Predictive Analytics be run on BW on HANA or does it only run on HANA Enterprise/ HANA Standalone?
    Regards,
    James

    Hi,
No, you can’t directly access the PAL from PA or HANA Studio in the HANA DB Edition for BW due to licensing restrictions. You need the HANA EE edition to use PAL from PA.
    Thanks,
    Vishwa

  • How can I delete error job of SLT ?

    Hi experts,
I have the SAP ECC 6.0 on MSSQL and  HANA DB.
I replicate some data  from SAP ECC to HANA DB using SLT.
    Now I'm facing a problem.
I failed one load job by preparation error.
In tr-cd:ltr , statistics tab , the target table were appeared as error.
I want to delete this error job.
Because of this error job has been left,  I can't re-load the target table.
Please tell me how can I delete this error job ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Suggestion to Moderators: time to split this forum into subjects

I think this forum went through significant activation and change since first initiated after SAPPHIRE 2010. As HANA went from the idea on the slide to real thing with many different aspects I think it is time to split this forum into few focused topics, e.g.:
    - Business cases for in-memory technology
    - SAP HANA platform and administration
    - SAP HANA development (SQL, SQLScript etc)
    - Data replication into SAP HANA (SLT, SyRS)
    - SAP HANA Dev Center
    - SAP HANA Security
    etc.
BO integration with HANA should be in BO forums. BW-on-HANA should be in corresponding forums on BW and OS/DB migrations.
Thanks everyone for lively discussions (especially technical ones and contributing to this forum!
    -Vitaliy

    Hi Vitaliy,
Your suggestion makes perfect sense to me. However, as we are all waiting for the new SCN to launch, we should get prepared to do some re-org of the content on the new platform and not introduce another level of complexity here. I don't think a definite date has been announce yet, but we're getting closer to the final migration. At least the developer center will have it's own forum on the new platform. Plus, the new SCN will allow tagging of content, so it'll be much easier to keep things organized if we all show some discipline (and if we don't, separate forums won't help because without some discipline, people will post into whatever they find first)
    cheers

  • How to recover from scenario in ECC- SLT- BW (ODP/ODQ scenario)

SLT Scenario in question: ECC --> SLT --> BW (ODP/ODQ scenario)
Issue : I need a scenario where we need to recover the data in a table in case of any failure occurs (where point in time recovery is not possible) or there is mismatch in Target database (HANA) when compared to ECC source system.
For e.g. when we are replicating table A having high throughput (1,00,000 records/hr) from ECC to SLT. We find during reconciliation that records are not matching. We want to recover the data from ODQ for last 2 days (data retention set to 10 days).
    The following are key constraints:
    ·       1. Re-Replicate the table by stopping the replication and starting  again is not an option.
    ·        2. Data from BW is being replicated on real time and customer has mission critical reporting which does not allow downtime.
(in case of re-conciliation issue 1 hr downtime may be allowed as exception)
I have reviewed the documentation available on SLT (operation manual) but did not find any clear solution / recommendations (steps) for recovery from ODP/ODQ scenario.
How can we recover in the case of above scenario where replicating the tables again  (stop and start replication) is not an option?
Please provide your viewpoint as this will be helpful.

  • How can I re-load a table into HANA using SLT

    Hi,
I am using HANA Version: 1.0.24 and SLT SAPK-91705INDMIS.
I have replicated several tables without any problems in this environment. However, when I tried to replicate T009, T009B and T009C; two tables T009B and T009C show status of replication as "Error" in both LTR and Hana Studio. Table T009 is replicated correctly.
I noticed that the table structure for T009B and T009C is created in HANA but there is no Data. Not sure what happened during replication. It seems to have stopped in between due to some error and now I have Table structures but with no data. I have tried suspend / stop and replicate but it keeps shown status as 'Error'.
Tcode LTR on SLT system shows following warnings
"Trigger exists in Source System although it is internally set as initial" for both tables.
I just want to start again and redo the load/replication of these two tables. What is the process of doing so?
    Thanks
    Sandeep

    Hi Sandeep,
I cannot comment on the officially supported way of deleting these triggers. Maybe the following will work,
Run the below command from SQLEditor:
    insert into <schema>."RS_ORDER" values(<your_table>, null, 'C');
    delete from <schema>."RS_STATUS" where TABLENAME=<your_table>
Although I think it should delete source triggers(but not sure). You do the cleanup from SLT (transaction IUUC_SYNC_MON)-->Expert Functions --> 'Delete DB triggers' , 'Delete Logging tables entries' and 'Delete Logging tables' for your table.
Also after doing this, you can check in source system (transaction IUUC_REMOTE) if triggers for your table are deleted.
Caution Again :-): I don't know if the above method is a documented and officially supported one.

  • Fiori Wave 8 Apps in the HANA Enterprise Cloud (HEC)

    Hi everyone,
I am currently in a project, where we have to install the Fiori Wave 8 Apps in a HEC landscape. Unfortuneatly I have only experience with installing Fiori on an On-Premise System. Are there any guys out there, who have allready installed Fiori Apps in the HANA Enterprise Cloud and could provide some Best Practises or could help me answer the following question:
Does an installation works in the same way like on an On-Premise System?
In my understanding a private system infrastructure in the HEC is nothing else, than an On-Premise-System hosted in the cloud or am I wrong?
Any knowledge would help me a lot.
    Thx in advance
    Dominik

I personally haven't installed Fiori, but I would agree with your own conclusion in the question.
Installation on HEC should be the same process as on-premise (which is the experience you already have), it just happens to be in an SAP data center, and not a customer data center.
