Enterprise manager grid control not working

We are using EBS 12.0.6 and database 10.2.0.2
enterprise manager doesnt work
What can be the reason..does it need seperate licensing?
Is there anything like admin console in 10g ?

this note applies to 12 to 12.0.3
i am on 12.0.6It should work with 12.0.6
Does it need a seperate license? somebody told me this

  • ASM without Enterprise Manager Grid Control

    Dear Gurus,
Can ASM be configured on Oracle 11g R2 without Enterprise Manager Grid Control ?
    If so, how?
    /Regards

    Thanks Jose,
But it seems asmca is not on my server were I installed Oracle 11g R2. With your input I have been able to search in the right direction though. The following page seems to say that the Oracle grid infrastructure must be installed, as asmca is part of it:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e10840/oraclerestart.htm#BABGDFIC
    It states this:
If you do not have Automatic Storage Management installed and you want to use Automatic Storage Management as your storage option, then you must complete an Oracle grid infrastructure installation before you start your Oracle Database installation.
To me this seems like overkill (having to install 3GB extra software to test if ASM is what we need, where in Oracle 10g no grid infrastructure was needed).
    /Best regards

  • 11.1.0.1.0  Enterprise Manager Grid Control - Single Sign-on certification

    Greetings all,
What are the single sign-on solutions that work with 11.1.0.1.0 enterprise manager grid control?
    thanks
    Seetharaman

That shouldn't happen normally. Check again the installation guide that you meet all requirements for the repository database. Make sure there's no 'old' SYSMAN user (from standalone database control etc.).

  • Can Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10g R4 manages Oracle DB 11g?

Are there some articles or documents for that?

I assume you are asking whether it is possible to run Enterprise Manager Grid Control without using the embedded database. The answer is yes. There is a step in the install wizard that ask you whether you want to create an embedded database, or use an existing database environment. Just follow the instructions on the wizard to point your EM server to the database of your choice. You can even run EM on RAC provided that you already have the license for it.

  • Enterprise Manager Grid Control - SSH not working on Windows

    Hi,
We tried the below steps to install EM Grid control on our Windows servers.
    • Oracle Application Grid Control with Oracle Management Agent has been installed successfully on Server1.
    • As part of prerequisites for Agent installation using Agent Deployment Wizard, we have installed Cygwin in both the boxes – SOA box (Server2) and Grid control box (Server1) for SSH communication. However, the agent installation failed and the service in SOA box failed to start. We tried re-installation of Cygwin but unable to bring up Cygwin service.
    • We have installed SOA suite in another box (Server3) and then installed Cygwin. Cygwin installation was successful and all previous issues were resolved.
However, SSH communication is getting failed because of the error "User Authentication failed on remote nodes:Server3. Either the provided username and password is incorrect or Password Authentication is disabled for the sshd daemon on the remote nodes. To enable Password Authentication set the property PasswordAuthentication to "yes" in the SSHD Configuration File (sshd_config) on the remote nodes".
We are able to achieve SSH communication when we manually try it through Cygwin Bash Shell.
Any pointers in resolving this would be highly appreciated.
    regards,
    Satyajith

I couldn't get to work either so I left the ssh configuration out and went on with 'silent' installation which worked like a charm and oem discovered it right away. Be sure change the parameters according to your environment in 'additional_agent.rsp' file and use that to run the silent installation. You may have to add one additional parameter manually about agent home location, look in the documentation for the exact parameter name. Hope this helps, Viral.

  • Grid control not working after clone

    Hi:
After ebs 12.1.3 on linux clone, I found grid control doesn't work. Database is 11.1.0.7. Don't know if it worked before or not. I managered to start up the agent, secured the agent, upload agent. From the grid control, I can see the host is up, but the database on that server is down. on the database page, Host name is there, but the Port, SID Oracle Home are all blank. I tried agent resync and got errors like below:
    ====
Agent Operation completed with errors. For those targets that could not be saved, please go to the target's monitoring configuration page to save them. All other targets have been saved successfully. Agent has not been unblocked.

  • Installing Enterprise manager grid control 10.2.0.3 on RHEL 5 64Bit

I'm not able to install OEM Grid control 10.2.0.3 on RHEL5 64BIT and cannot find a document for the installation.
Could anyone give me here all the steps for this installation : all the package requirements or a link to achieve successfully the installation.
    Thanks in advance

Be careful, if you have an older environment or a large variety of database versions in your install base the 11g version of OEM may not support them.
Follow these instructions (from My Oracle Support) to install the 10.2.0.3 base and patch up to 10.2.0.5 on RedHat 5:
If the link doesn't work, it's article 784963.1. Do not follow the installation guide or release notes from technet - they are incorrect and will only work for RHEL 4 and lower.

  • Error messages from Enterprise Manager Grid control

    Hi,
    Hi,
I get several messages in my email daily from Enterprise Manager that Services from Application server control are down when all ther services are up and running. Messages like
EM Alert: Critical: testdev - The OC4J instance is down.
Any idea why this is happening.
    Thank You

Here is the error in the "installActions<date>.log" file:
SEVERE: OUI-25031:Some of the configuration assistants failed. It is strongly recommended that you retry the configuration assistants at this time. Not successfully running any "Recommended" assistants means your system will not be correctly configured.
    1. Check the Details panel on the Configuration Assistant Screen to see the errors resulting in the failures.
    2. Fix the errors causing these failures.
    3. Select the failed assistants and click the 'Retry' button to retry them.
I checked in the details section and it listed this as the issue:
    Configuration assistant "OMS Configuration" failed
The "D:\oracle\product\10.1.0\agent10g\cfgtoollogs\configToolFailedCommands" script contains all commands that failed, were skipped or were cancelled. This file may be used to run these configuration assistants outside of OUI. Note that you may have to update this script with passwords (if any) before executing the same.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do I fix this?? When I open up the configToolFailedCommands file, all it lists is "oracle.sysman.emcp.agent.AgentPlugIn".

    Hello,
this appears to be related to optimpeek_user_binds parameter in 11.1.0.7.
There is a note in My Oracle Support (1296792.1) that shows the same symptoms.
It looks to me that the solution is to install patch: 9703463
If this is not possible in your system then you can try the workaround from the Note:
    alter system set "_optim_peek_user_binds"=false
