Enterprise manager console for 10g.
How do I get enterprise manager console for 10g? I installed 10g on my machine awhile ago and just noticed that enterprise manager console was not installed with it. When I installed Oracle 9 a while back, the console was installed automatically.
DB Control Repository is needed to run EM. To create it you can use emca or dbca command.

DNSDHCP Java Console for Linux usage question
Hi All,
This should be one of the simplest things, but it defeats me. I have downloaded and installed the DNSDHCP Java Console for Linux on my SLED11 workstation. I start it up and am presented with a login screen:
Server Address: [ ] Port: [ 636 ]
(e.g. 192.168.xxx.xxx)
Username: [ ]
(e.g. cn=admin,o=companyname)
Password: [ ]
[v] Use SSL
Questions:
Server address: is that supposed to be my OES DNS/DHCP server? Or my eDir server? I've tried each.
Username: is that supposed to be my tree admin? I've tried it.
Password: I think I got this one.
SSL: I *think* my server is set up for SSL, but I'm not sure. I've tried it both ways.
I have tried every combination except the one that works. Can anyone suggest something that I may be missing?
Thanks,
Toney. Most of the time eDir servers default to SSL, and you have to check (or uncheck) the box under the LDAP Group object to require TLS authentication (or something like that)--so if you haven't done that then non-ssl will likely not work. I have had some boxes that wont do SSL though.... In that case, non-ssl usually works for me. You can also configure the same things under iManager.

Enterprise Manager 10g Java Console for Windows
Dear all,
I have download Complete Files of Oracle10.1.0.2 for Microsoft Windows (32-bit). After installation, When I opened Web-based Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g; I see the following tip on the Administration page
TIP Use the Enterprise Manager 10g Java Console to manage Streams, Advanced Replication, Advanced Queues, XML Database, Spatial and Workspace.
But I am still looking from where it can be launched. Have any professional experienced the Enterprise Manager 10g Java Console on MS Windows platform?
Regds,
FaranIt is not installed by default, you have to mark its
checkbox explicitly. In the package selection tree, it is
under Oracle Client 10.1.0.2.0.
It's only a Beta! But it's much more stable and a little
bit faster than 9iR2. They probably didn't check it for
default installation as it's just a beta.
There's one another interesting issue with Enterprise
Managers (Java and web) in 10g: each of them recommends
you in the welcome page to use the other one. What was
first, the chicken, or the egg???

This may be the cause of your issue. Check the system time zone/locale setting. Ireland locale setting can trigger similar error in 11g DB (bug 8225653).

Oracle Enterprise Manager "Performance" tab (Oracle 10g)
Hi,
How to I make a report based on Performance TAB.
View Data -> Historical
Sessions
Runnable Process
Active Sessions
Instance Disk i/o
Instance throughput
Explain : What is (example :*what is session for?* ) , What is X and Y (example :*what is X = Y= Time and date*)
Please reply.. I need it by today.. :(The help file explains it a lot better than I can... therefore:
Interpreting the Host: Average Runnable Processes Chart
If you have opted to show both the CPU cores and CPU threads,
consistent values somewhere between the two line values may
indicate that too many users are waiting in line for CPU time.
Compare the values with those of CPU Used in the Average Active
Sessions chart. If the sessions value is low and the run queue
length value is high, this indicates that something else on the host
other than your database is consuming the CPU.
If you have selected Memory Access mode, the Host chart does
not initially display historical data, except when the screen was
loaded recently and cached historical data is still available. Host data
is cached starting from the time the screen was first accessed,
and gradually fills the history on the Host chart.
Interpreting the Average Active Sessions Chart
The Session Count is computed by categorizing the time
that all active sessions consumed in the last sampling interval
into different wait classes, summing the amount in each wait class,
and dividing it by the sampling interval. For example, If there
are 3 active sessions in the last 15-second sampling interval, and
each session spent half of the time (7.5 seconds each) on CPU
and half of the time idling, then 3 x 7.5 / 15 = 1.5 active sessions
on CPU appear for that sampling interval.
Compare the peaks on the Average Active Sessions chart with those
on the Instance Throughput charts. If the Average Active Sessions
chart displays a large number of sessions waiting, indicating internal
contention, but throughput is high, then the situation may be
acceptable. The database is probably also performing efficiently if
internal contention is low but throughput is high. However, if internal
contention is high but throughput is low, then consider tuning the database. Selecting Memory Access Mode for Slow or Hung Systems
You can click the Monitor In Memory Access Mode link in the Related Links section to enable Memory Access Mode. The Database Performance page reappears with a Disable Memory Access Mode button and a Switch to SQL Access Mode button in the upper right corner.
You can temporarily disable Memory Access Mode by clicking this button, upon which the Database Performance page reappears in SQL Access Mode. To reactivate Memory Access Mode, click the Monitor In Memory Access Mode link again, then click Enable Memory Access Mode when the Database Performance page reappears.
In Memory Access Mode, performance statistics are retrieved directly from the Shared Global Area (SGA) using optimized/lightweight system-level calls as an alternative to SQL. Memory Access mode avoids the computation associated with parsing and executing SQL statements, thereby making it ideal for severe cases of library cache contention that can prevent the instance from being monitored in SQL Mode. You should switch to Memory Access Mode for slow or hung systems.
Pages in Memory Access Mode contain data sampled at a higher frequency than pages in SQL Mode. (Charts may appear to be slightly different from SQL mode for this reason.) Consequently, Enterprise Manager provides better information about where events begin and end, and can also handle short-duration events that might otherwise be missed.

How to avoid timeouts from Enterprise Manager/BPEL console?
Occasionally I want to deploy (from JDev) some BPEL processes to the AppServer.
Surprisingly I got some errors. I found out when I re-login into
Enterprise Manager and tried again to deploy it everything works fine.
So it seems to me all errors occur because of a forced logout from Enterprise Manager.
How can I avoid such situations?
PeterHi peter,
See this forum link:

It contains your post only. See it.

Display java console for yosemite
How do you display Java console in Yosemite (Already Updated to latest update). I am taking a Java programming class. Also, what is the default path for the JDK and JDE folders? Any other advice for writing JAVA code on OSK for a beginner is greatly appreciated! Any forums for folks like me?
I am using the MS version.
I just had this thought, though. If I am using an
older version of the JDK, do I need to use the Java
plug-in??Unfortunately yes. IE needs to know where to find the Java Runtime Environment so that it can run the Applets and such you find on the web. You can direct IE to use the java binary within the JDK, but it is so much of a hassle that you're probably better off letting the plug-in "configure" the browser to use the plug-in's JRE.
Well, I guess you don't really need to, but I wouldn't bother. Some day in the future when you switch to a new machine, you may want to take the JDK off of the old machine and use the old machine to store your MP3 collection - in which case you'll still want the JRE. -

Re: OC4J Configuration issue.
M Configuation issue . c:\oracle\yourdatabaselocation\db/yourcomputername.mshome.net_sidname not found
solution :
rename c:\oracle\yourdatabaselocation\db\oc4j\j2ee\oc4j_DBConsole_localhost_sidname
into
c:\oracle\yourdatabaselocation\db\oc4j\j2ee\oc4j_DBConsole_yourcomputername.mshome.net_sidname
then go to your services from control panel and RESTART your service dbconsole again.

DB link is not active if gives SID through enterprise manager(JAVA)
Dear All,
I have a strange issue in one of our DBLINK.
DBLINK is unsuccessful though we are using the same SID in OEM that we configured at Linux box.
If i give the full path of this entry, then this link will be active.
if i am giving only that SID, then the link will be inactive.
any clue on this..?user4226718 wrote:
