Enterprise Manager listening ports?
Hi all,
Which are the TCP/IP ports an intelligent
agent uses to communicate with an OEM
console?
From the docs, it seems that the only port
it uses is 7770/tcp, but I saw 7771, 7772,
7773, 7778 also.
I need this info to setup a (um, rather
complicated) forwarding SSH tunnel between
OEM console and the agent node -- OEM
console will be in a private network

to connections from agents -- ie, the TCP
/IP connections initiated from agent
to the OEM console.
In my case, the OEM->agent comms work
well, but not agent->OEM since the OEM
server is in a private IP network.
As said, I'll forward via SSH the ports
back to the OEM server, but I need to know
which are these OEM ports...
Any help would be much appreciated.

If I installed or configured enterprise manager and I forgot the port, where can I find it?You must read the part in the Installation Documentation for certified repository databases to ensure that your database is OK.
My advice is always, never start any installation (not only Oracle) without reading the Documentation, Release Note and any README.
You will spend less time in the installation as Configuration if you use the required documentations for your platform.

Hot to know Enterprise Manager PORT

We have Oracle 10g DB on Unix machine.
I need to user EM ,but don't know the port !
Will anybody just advise the file where I can get the port for Enterprise Manager?

The default ports are maintained in 2 files , readme.txt and portlist.ini under $OH/install. These files contain the port number which are assigned when the default or first time installation is done. Here are the file's output from my windows box,

I have created 2 listeners and connected my database with both the listeners. If I stop one listener then it automatically uses second listener vice versa. But facing problem in case of enterprise manager. If i stop first listener which is on 1521 port it is not connecting to another listener which is on 1522 port.
any help ?Your potential problem is Enterprise Manager simply doesn't KNOW about that second listener. You can easily verify that when you look at the monitored targets.
Enterprise Manager also reconstructs automagically it's own tnsnames.ora! So, it doesn't connect to second -completely redundant and useless - listener, because the tnsnames.ora entry on the Management Sever is incorrect.
Simply because you didn't made sure OEM could discover the second -completely redundant and useless- listener.
I notice you apparently don't want to read documentation. Yet the only way to work successfully with Oracle, and to become independent, is to read that documention.
Apart from that you should be able to find agentca.bat on your OS with one command, so, yes, I pointed you to the documentation, yes, you can find agentca.bat.

Unable to see the SSL port in the Oracle Enterprise Manager

I followed the step for SSL setup in the given link Re: Tech Note : SSL Setup for Oracle AS B2B
When I open the Oracle Enterprise Manager console, I am not able to see the SSL port. I found that Accessibility Mode is Disabled. Please help me to enable the accessibility mode and also to find SSL port.I tried giving the ssl ports 1810 - 1829. it did not work out. I am trying to access the URL https://localhost:1829/b2b/transportServlet. Any one has idea about how to enable the SSL port in the Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Enterprise Manager 10g DBControl - Listener doesn't appear on home page
I have a testing system, running on Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition, Service Pack 2 with an Oracle DB 10g v10.2.0.3.0 installed. A few days before today I found out that I don't have the link with the listener on the Enterprise Manager DBControl home page. I'm attaching a print screen with the image I have on the home page.

I didn't observe if this problem got from the initial installation, but I think it didn't, as this was a clean system and everything should have worked fine. Yet, since the initial installation the system got into some changes regarding the Operating System and I refer to the name of the server by joining a domain and got added the suffix of the domain. The listener works fine, I can connect from any workstation and do whatever I want, but the link with the listener doesn't appear from anyplace I try to connect and do something.
Please help me if you know any solution regarding this.

I solved the problem so now I can't try the last solution to see if it helps. The solution I chosed was to deconfigure the DBControl with EM and then reconfigure it back.
On one hand this helped solving the problem, but on the other hand all the settings made in EM got lost. There was no problem losing these settings as this was a test system. If it would have been a productive system having more settings in EM I don't think I'd choose the same solution I mentioned above.
I'll mark the question as answered but mentioning once again that I don't recommend this for a productive system.

Config Listener and access to Enterprise Manager
Hello,
I just installed Oracle 11g R2 on Windonws 7 64bit and I created a database. When I try to create a listener I get the following message on the console:
ServiceAliasException: Could not initialize Service Alias: TNS - 044
12: Problem reading or entering an address.
Caused by: oracle.net.config.SOExceptionConfig: TNS-04413: found a shared object in the secundary tree.
Can I access to Oracle Enterprise Manager without having configured a listener?

In the C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\network\ADMIN directory, rename the listener.ora, sqlnet.ora and tnsnames.ora to listener.ora.bak, sqlnet.ora.bak and tnsnames.ora.bak.
Then rerun netca (Net Configuration Assistant) to recreate the sqlnet.ora (second option on the menu), listener.ora (first option) and tnsnames.ora (third option).
After exiting netca, start the listener by issuing the command ‘lsnrctl start’.

At the end of the database installation, the enterprise manager URL is displayed. Does anyone know how to find out what this port number is if you have forgotten it ?
I'm sure I've seen a port listing somewhere that shows all the ports being used but I can't find it.
I need to look at the email configuration part - my emails are reportedly being sent but I'm not getting them

I've tried :5500/em within the ie explorer address field but I'm still getting the 'Page Cannot be Displayed' error.
I've located the emclt.bat file and typed 'emctl status agent' - it reports the 'Agent is Running and Ready'.
I've checked the services window but I don't seem to have a 'OracleDBConsole<dbname>....is this the root cause ?
....can this be installed seperately ? or do I have to use the 10g install disks and try and install again ?. This has its own worries (over-writing files etc - the original working install may become corrupt)

How to change the port in enterprises manager

I am using the oracle 11g in windows server.
I have changed the oracle port from 1521 to 1535 successfully. After change the post my em is not starting up. Now em is looking into the old port 1521.
Could you please guide me how to start the em?

Did a fresh install of 11.2.0.1.0 under Windows 2003 - latest updates - IE 8.
I can access Enterprise Manager from other computers - but not from the local server.
I've tried both: https://oracle.xxxx.xxx:1158/em and https://localhost:1158/em
Both give me the generic "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" - but if I access from another computer it comes up - so I know everything is working... -
Installation problem with Enterprise Manager Console
When i am installing 10G database installation was failed at configuring DBConsole. later from OUI(Oracle Universal Installer) i uninstalled Enterprise Manager Console. my Question was how to reinstall the Enterprise Manager Console alone?
When i am trying to install from OUI. it is not allowing me to install Enterprise Mager Alone (stating Database is mandatory) .

Check the contents of this file.
Out from the log you posted I can see it is a windows platform. One common issue with windows and EM is the lack of a fixed IP Address. If this is the case configure a loopback adapter.
In the mean time, you don't need to have checked the configure EM DB Control from install time, you can skip this configuration and perform it later, so at least you have a working database just to start.

Hi all,
Currently i'm facing a big issue here.
I have install the Oracle 10g on Window 2003 SE.
And currently the Enterprise manager is not be able to conenct to the database and my database is still running.With my listener is up.
But from the Enterprise manager's it show that everythg is down.
and when i try to restart it,i ask for os id and password and dbuser and dbpassword.
frm the SQL plus,i can easily startup and shutdown the database.
So i would like to know i can rectify this problem.

And i would like to know how to set up the environment variable for Oracle_HOME and ORACLE_SID.
Please kindly assist me on this.Looking at the error message "The Network Adapter could not establish the connection" , It appears hostname and port may be incorrect. Review the targets.xml under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\emd and
emoms.properties under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\config folder to make sure host ( sap_solman) and port (1527) are correct.
As far as setting the environment variables goes, you can go to control panel -> system -> advanced -> environment variables and set the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID

Problem with EM (Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database)
Hi all,
I've Oracle DB 11g Rel.1 installed on Windows XP SP3. The database is up and running i.e. everyone can connect to the DB by using any App tool e.g. SQL*Plus, Forms, or Reports. It means that the listener and the service is running. But the problem is that when I try to start the EM I see some error messages on the webpage.
It says:
Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database instance. The state of the components are listed below.Database Instance (Green arrow)

Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g is running.I have checked some documents around config files in sysman and test_orcl\sysman directories. Moreover, I have checked dbsnmp and sysman account for unlockness and password accuracy. But they did not help me to solve the problem.
My question is if every thing is working fine then what is the problem with the EM? Why it is not connecting to the DB?
