Enterprise Portal 6.0 - Iviews not refreshing.

We are using Single Sign On using logon tickets with EP 6.0. This had
been working fine until a couple of weeks ago when Microsoft patch MS06-067 was applied. This is an Internet Explorer patch applying Active X
controls.
Now, when we launch the portal, the welcome iview appears but we cannot
navigate to any of the other ivews - they all show the welcome iview.
If we access the server with the :50000 address, forcing logon to the
portal, the ivews all work fine.
Have anyone encountered any problems with this patch? and can you me any pointers on how to solve this issue.

Portal Runtime Error - iView not found

Hi friends,
I am working in SAP Enterprise Portal (EP6 SP9).
I have made a URL iView pointing to an HTML file (residing on Portal server).I have attached this iView in the "Related Links" section of a page.
Problem:
When I access this iView by clicking it, it opens perfectly well.But if i keep the same page untouched for about 15-20 min, and then try to access the same iView, it shows me the following error.

Standard iView not refreshing

Has anyone come across this problem with the Org Unit Overview iview ?
This i View is not showing updates unless I log off and then log back on to the Portal. The iView is set so there should be no caching (eg the cache level is NONE, Allow Client -side caching is set to NO)
Going out of the transaction in the Portal and then back to the Org Overview is not enough even if the Explorer history and temp internet files are cleared.
I'd appreciate any suggestions

I hope that you are again displaying the data from the same context. When you are updating the data, (update it first) commit your changes to back end then re query the data from back-end to get the updated one. Otherwise if you are going to display then it will show you the old data because you are not refreshing the data from back end.
do check the process and try.

Status overview iView not refreshed for performance documents on MSS

Hi Experts,
We are using the standard portal business package for Manager Self Service. However, recently, we found out that one iView was working before suddenly stopped working. This is the Status Overview iView for Maintain Performance Documents. When searching for the performance appraisal documents for a group of direct report employees, the status overviewtable is not refreshed. Although we do have the appraisal documents in
R/3, the iView shows 0 results.
we use MSS 600 SP 8 BP

Enterprise Portal SAP Resources are not starting on Box2...

Dear SAP World,
We implemented EP HA project using Two server boxes(2 server nodes). we are using first server box for SAP resources and second server box for Oracle DataBase resources. If i try to take SAP resources online on Box2 then SAP is failing to start over there.
I observed on Box2 using SAP MMC that always CI resources are trying to start before SCS starts over there that causes i am getting the following errors on default trace files, like some times CI Resources are not able to attach Message Server Port(3901) and some times CI resources failed to connect Enqueue Server Port(3201).

All the times we observed on Box2 that CI resources are trying to start before SCS resources starts.
There is no problem for SAP resources on Box1. Intitally We installed SAP on Box1 and did the configurations on Veritas Cluster Application for achieving switch over or High Avaliablity environment.
Please kindly suggest the solution.

It appears the port 8888 is already in use by another app or the bus is already running. try to identofy the app that is using the 8888 port or just change it to a different port, ensure that you have followed the installation guide and configure all the ftp settings and have added a local HM

BW Workbook as an iView in the Enterprise Portal

I keeping getting a dialog box asking to select the appropriate program to open the workbook. When I select .xls it opens, and it shows the parameters I entered and not the workbook. The customer is on NW04 Stack 11.
I followed ever step on help.sap.com site as listed below.
BW workbooks are MS Excel workbooks with one or more embedded BW queries. You are able to display these workbooks in the Enterprise Portal as iViews.
Features
Workbooks are displayed in a separate MS Excel window. Opening workbooks within the Web browser window is not possible for technical reasons.
BW workbooks require the BEx Analyzer, which requires a local installation of the SAP GUI for Windows with the BW front end.
SAP recommends that you use BEx Web applications in the Enterprise Portal that run completely in the Web browser.
You can use the function Export as Excel 2000 File from the BW Web application context menu as an alternative to using a local installation of the BW front end if you require Excel functions. See Context Menu Functions and Exporting as a CSV File/Excel 2000 File.
An iView with a workbook can be generated using the Portal Content Studio or Role Upload. For more information, see Generating Content from SAP BW for the Enterprise Portal.
The iViews are of type SAP Transaction iView and have the code link com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Transaction.
The most important properties are System, Transaction (TCODE) and ApplicationParameter.
·The System property contains the alias on the BW system (see Creating BW Systems in the Portal).
·The transaction code for every workbook is RRMXP.
·The value WBID= is in the ApplicationParameter property.
You can determine the workbook ID with the BEx Analyzer:
a. Open the desired workbook.
b. In the BEx toolbar, choose ® OLAP Functions for Active Cells ® Properties. The Information tab page contains the Workbook ID (Server).
Note that with BW workbooks as an iView, the AutoStart property contains the value True (process first screen) and the GuiType property contains the value WinGui.

Application is not working in Enterprise Portal (Access Denied)

I have created one application..........This application contains one DropDownByKey element whenever i run this application all the material numbers are automatically populated from R/3....... once i selected material number all the fields related to that material number are displyed in my view..... It is working fine in my NWDS(WebDynpro).....
I have integrated this application into Enterprise Portal their i am not getting any data into DropDownList box from R/3.... when i run the application i am getting "ACESS DENIED" error ............
But i have another applicaton(FlightList) which is already integrated into Enterprise Portal..... its working fine......This is also accessing data from R/3.... but its working......
The material application is not working........

Hi,
How have you defined the property "WAS host" for the portal system that you have created for the back-end?
You might get this error if the way you have defined this WAS host property and the way you are calling the portal are different. For example, if your WAS host property is "<hostname>:<portnumber>" and you are calling your portal as "localhost:<portnumber>", then you will get this error.
Also are you connecting to your portal using the fully qualified domain name? Don't call the portal simply as
http://<host>:<port>/irj but call it as http://<host>.<domain>:<port>/irj.

I have done with static dropdownlist.....means i have created one string simple type in dictonary...i have enterd values in enumaration and i am getting these values in dropdownlist when i am runnig this application in NWDS.... but in EP its not working
i am not taking any values from R/3 there is no back end connection for this.......

Enterprise portal version file not found

During sapinst the following error message popped up:
CJS-00328 Enterprise portal version file not found. DIAGNOSIS: The enterprise portal version file was not found at the expected location (6.0.9.0.0). SAPinst cannot check for the required version <#1>. Your enterprise portal software might be too old. Solution: Update the enterprise portal version to <#1> or higher.
Where should I find this version file?
I'm running NW04 SPS16 (Installed from SR1, and successfully updated to SPS16).

SAP Note 847491 is the solution for the problem:
From the note:
Copy the portal version file from its current location to the place where the system copy tool looks for it.
To do so:
Copy the directory:
\usr\sap\<XXX>\SYS\global\portal_versions\*.*
to
\usr\sap\<XXX>\JC<XX>\j2ee\portal_misc\versions
if you are running on a Unix platform make sure that all the files are owned by the j2eeadm:sapsys owner.

Publish A Query in Enterprise Portal.

I am a BW Consultant and I want to publish a Query in the Enterprise Portal but I am not able to view any portal Roles while i publish .
There are already some web templates already assigned in the portal roles.
Please help.

The publishing of a query as u said, requires the role properties to be edited for the visibility.Once u created an iview with the required query and assigned tht to workset inturn assigned tht to a role.
Change the "navigation" properties of the role "set entry point" as yes by clicking the radio button.
Then u need to assign the role to an User in the "User Administration"-> Identity manager>give the ID> click modify>available roles>choose the role u want to assign->add,..and when that user logs into the portal he will be able to c tht Query as a new tab .
This will solve ur problem.Please reply for further issues.

What are the default, given or otherwise features of SAP netweaver/enterprise portal. I do not want to redo a function or feature/template of the feature/basic iview (portlet) already exists. And where I can find/get these features.

yes, there is preconfigured content (templates) in the portal.
Have a look at [SAP Help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/5a/0338f80c0b11d7b84800047582c9f7/frameset.htm].
You'll find two entries in the left hand navigation: "Pre-configured Roles" and "Standard Portal Content".
The information is not that detailed but you might get a first impression.
Besides the standard portal content there are so called Business Packages, which provide pre-configured iViews, pages, worksets and roles for specific business processes / scenarios. You can find them [here in SDN|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/contentportfolio].

Planning without enterprise portal

dear experts,
Our client is willing to do budget planning, they dont have enterprise portal and they are not willing to buy it. I want to know whether we can do IP without enterprise portal. As we have to define planning functions and sequences and aggregation on planning modeler, that runs on portal. Is there any other way we can define them and then use them with bex analyzer. Your suggestions would be highly appriciated.

Unambiguous you CAN NOT use modeler if you have no portal !!!
On other hand, if your customer want any planning aplication, you still may use BPS (ALV or EXCEL GUI).
