I am going to be taking the Development Consultant SAP Net Weaver '04 - Enterprise Portal certification soon and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on possible study guides or material to help in preperation? I want to do well. Thank-you!

Hi,
please guide me how should I go ahead to prepare for enterprise portal certification.
1.Is there any eligibility for work experienec, if I dont attend SAP proprietary training courses, and prepere self?
2. Is it really worth to prepare and give examination? Is it really makiing any impact in market to be certified?
how much time duration looks OK, to get certified

1. Usually you would need 3-6 months of EP development experience. This blog may help.

2. With experience and certification and the market need for EP developers, your chances of getting placed/hired are much better.
With not attending courses, it may take you 4-6 months on Self-Learning.

That's true.
Enterprise Portal applications are developed from Portal Development Kit (PDK). There are Java and .NET versions of Enterprise Portal applications. Java-based Portal application involves HTMLB, JSP, and DynPage (JspDynPage), which is not purely J2EE.
A J2EE application involves the Web (JSP, Servlets) and Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB).

For material either you have to purchase it from sap site or study through sdn and help site.
Regarding training either u can do certification if u get sponsership from ur company, in teched if u have some hands on exp in portal or else u can undergo training from sap partnered training institutes like simens etc.

SDN Subscription NW & License - Enterprise Portal

Hello,
we have installed an enterprise portal development system from the sdn subscription (Media: D51032258 = developer_workplace; not D51033208 = installation_master), which installed J2EE-Engine_ADA and NetWeaver_ADA (from Licensing Adapter). Now we have a license file which only seems to be valid for the NetWeaver_ADA. We also have no option to make a license request for J2EE-Engine in the Support Portal.
Is it possible to license the J2EE-Engine for our SDN subscription or do we have to use another installation option (which one?) from the media-pack? Which one is the standalone NetWeaver_ADA / EnterprisePortal system we have to install?

I do not have an answer to your question, but: I'thinking about to buy the sdn subscription license. How much money do you roughly have to spend for a server to run SAP BI and both components, ABAP AND Java stack?
