Enterprise Portal Implementation & Configuration

Hi All,
I am having Licence of SAP - Enterprise Portal. please guide me onto the following issue.
1. How can I implement it & configure it on my sever( Installation & configuration ).
2. How can I make it available for all users so that they can access the SAP-GUI (current version ECC6.0) from the Internet
Explorer  i.e., they can view all the reports & transactions with IE only.
Please guide me in detail.
Thanks.

Hi Rajiv,
Configuration of Licence the Basis team will help you .
Regarding you want to make sap GUI transaction & Report accessable to all users.
You have to follow the step
1. Define the system in Portal which will connect backend ECC.
2. You have to create iview ,Page, worksets and roles
3. Roles need to assign into User.
I am just breafing the things .. Please specify your requirement and at which stage you are in.

  • Enterprise Portal Implementation - Cost wise.

    Hi Experts,
Had a few questions/doubts in my mind regarding the costing side of implementation of Enterprise portal.
If i take an example that an Enterprise has SAP ECC 6.0 implemented, and would need to implement ESS/MSS packages !!!
Can someone please help in explaining :-
    - What amount would an enterprise need to spend to get the EP packages?
    - Availability of different packages provided by SAP?
    - The licensing cost and what all different packages are available provided by SAP.
    Thanks,
    Puneet

    Hello,

  • Reg:implementation Enterprise portal in solution manager

    hi all
i am new to the concept of solution manager .In this how can we implement Enterprise portal .Actually what an EP consultant work need to be done in this  solution manager.can any  one provide some real time scenarios info related to it .
    regards
    Deepika

    Hi,
Regarding the implementation phase, Solution Manager helps you via several functionalities:
    - Solution Documentation: Central documentation of processes, system landscape, custom code,...
    - Test Management:Change impact analysis, End-to-end test management
    - Change Control Management: Integrated quality management, Synchronized transports of various components, Controlled and documented adjustment of business processes incl. approval process
    - Application Incident Management: Integrated service desk, Involvement of partners in problem resolution, Provide root-cause analysis for complex landscapes with diverse technology stacks
The most important part in from my perspective for a implementation consultant is the Project Documentation functionality, where you can get Implementation Content for Enterprise Portal. This includes business scenarios documentation and business process included in the Business Process Repository, how to configure different scenarios and business processes, test cases, etc.
I think you can find some information in the marketplace about this functionality. For example you may find something under service.sap.com/alm -> SAP Solution Manager and Tools.
    Best regards,
    Fernando

  • Configure SSO Connection from SAP Enterprise Portal to BOE Server

    Hi Guys,
We recently installed a BOE Server and want to connect it to our SAP Enterprise Portal. What we need is just to display the Crystal Reports via Enterprise Portal. We have set up the following:
    SAP EP with AD Authentication
SAP EP configured with SNC to SAP BI7 system
SAP BOE XI 3.1 - SAP Integration Kit
BOE Server configured with SAP Authentication via SAP BI7 System
We've also set up BOE IK iviews and URL iviews pointing to existing reports in BOE. However, when we access it from EP, it prompts for a username and login to BOE. Is there a way to configure these so that there is no prompt for login to BOE server and SSO is used? Is it also possible to have a service account (e.g. domain/crystal) that will run the reports in BOE everytime a user accesses a report from SAP EP?
Let me know if this is at all possible

    Hi,
You should configure InfoView for SSO first, which required infoview.xml file modification, using windows AD default authentication. If you want to utilize the OpenDocument URL for iView then you also need to configure OpenDocument.xml file for SSO also. The SAP portal must have trust relation with the SAP BW server so the Windows AD token can be authenticate with SAP BW server.
If you want crystal user to run all the report then you will lose data security. It can be done by hard coding user name and password in the report properties and database logon but the SSO capability can be accomplished only by windows AD, SAP or LDAP.
For more details check BOXI Admin guide and SAP Integration Guide.
    Thanks,
    Muhammad

  • Steps to configure R/3 system to Portal implementation

    Hi
Please provide steps to configure R/3 system to Portal implementation
when i m opening standard iview in ESS in portal i m getting following runtime error.
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to resolve JCO destination name 'SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData' in the SLD. No such JCO destination is defined in the SLD.
    Please help
    Thanks

    Hello Bhupinder Singh,
To use ESS/MSS services in Portal follow the following Steps
    Maintaining jCo Connections
    Use
jCo connections are used in iViews to connect directly to a backend. They are delivered with the portal content and must be activated (configured to access a specific system).
jCo connections have two parts: one with <jCo name>, and the other with suffix <jCo Name>_MetaData. The first one transfers user-specific data within the scenario; the other transfers only the needed metadata. For the jCo with name <jCo name>, SAP Logon Ticket is recommended as an authentication method. For the metadata connection, a user ID and password is needed. A system user created before is sufficient.
    Procedure
Within this guide we generically describe the step-by-step procedure for an example connection set. Perform all steps for the following jCos:
    u2022     SAP_R3_Financials / SAP_R3_Financials_Metadata
    u2022     SAP_R3_HumanResources / SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData
    u2022     SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics / SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData
    u2022     SAP_R3_Travel / SAP_R3_Travel_MetaData
    u2022     SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaDataFIN

  • Do I need Enterprise Portal if we are implementing NWBC

I have a questions in regards to Enterprise Portal and NWBC.  We are implementing SAP BW and the BOBJ ( Enterprise, Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence, Xcelsius and Explorer), do i need both Enterprise Portal and NWBC?
Can I just use NWBC to access all the BOBJ reports?  or do i need portal and run NWBC ontop of it?
    Any help would be great
    Thanks
Edited by: Puneet Chopra on Apr 22, 2010 4:50 PM

    Thanks for the reply
But your statement of "You can directly access BW objects from BO", i dont quite understand
I am asking when we implement BW and all the BOBJ reports are created can we access and publish everything through NWBC?  Or do i need portal as well as NWBC?
Also, if we decide to use BEx Analyzer, will this be able to published through NWBC?
    Thanks again

  • Implementation of Enterprise Portal on Solution Manager 7.0 /ECC 6.0

    Hello  EP Experts
    Need your help to implement Enterprise Portal on Sulution Manager.   As we know Solution Manager/ECC has Java Stack, and since it has JAVA Stack Currently BI is working and its been using.  Since, BI is there my undrestanding is part of Netweaver is installed on the Box.  So, my Question is;
    1. Is it possible to activiate or implement Enterprise Portal on Solution Manager/ECC with the available resources?
    2. If yes, how to do this? What are the additional contents to be installed
Please provide me the detailed information regarding this.
    Thank You
    Aftab

    Hi,
the enterprise portal is deployed /installed on the Web AS Java - not on solution manager. BI installation comes together with a portal installation. It's also possible to have a WebAS Java without enterprise portal but not in case of BI.
