Enterprise portal - Invalid areas:Repository Managers

Hi All,
I'm facing the warning as "Invalid areas:Repository Managers" under Knowledge Management, we have done EHP upgrade recenlty. Could you guide how to resolve the issue & here I'm attaching the warning screen-shots please have a look.

Check the config_local.properties file under the KM application folder
...\irj\root\web-inf\portal\portalapps\com.sap.km.application\lib
if it is going to a share like
server\sapprt\j2ee...
then it may not work for you, so in order to resolve just map the network drive on cluster to primary node C drive
in to Z or Y drive.
and place the directory as
Z:\usr\sap\ep6q\global\config\cm
then restart the cluster.
Try and let me know it worked or not.

Our Internal Test Portal is clustered across 2 physical servers. Patch34 was installed on the primary node
successfully. The Seconday Node was then started so that it would sync up with the Primary and get the patch installed. Everything seemed to work ok on the sync. However when you click on KMContent in the seconday node portal you get a message that says "Item not found
The item you are attempting to access is not available. Check that the
name or link is correct. You might also check whether the associated
repository is currently accessible. "
When trying to investigate what was causing this problem we discovered
the following error in the Knowledge Management Configuration.
When you click on System Admin - System Config - Knowledgement Mgmt -
Configuration - Content Managemnet you get an error at the top of the
screen that reads Invalid folders: Repository Managers
When you click on Repository Managers you get the following error at
the top of the screen. Invalid classes: User Management Repository,
Taxonomy Repository, Content Exchange Repository, Virtual Root
Repository, User Management Engine (UME 4.0) Repository Manager,
Calendar Repository, Reporting Repository, File System Repository
Any ideas?

Sending a file from R/3 to Enterprise portal Knowledge Managemen repository

hi all,
I have a requirement to place a PDF file (may be any file need not be only PDF ) generated from an RFC, on to the portal KM. Is there any way to do this?
Please revert back with any queries if you have......
I know a way to do this but this takes a lot of time..
Writing a simple java file which interacts with the KM and make it as a webservice , which can be consumed in ABAP.

That's true.
Enterprise Portal applications are developed from Portal Development Kit (PDK). There are Java and .NET versions of Enterprise Portal applications. Java-based Portal application involves HTMLB, JSP, and DynPage (JspDynPage), which is not purely J2EE.
A J2EE application involves the Web (JSP, Servlets) and Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB).

WebI reports in Enterprise Portal - Are they static??

Hi All,
We currently have Bex reports on our enterprise Portal. Users can actually go to the portal and view the reports and go to edit mode and drag and drop objects and change the view the way they like and save it as a new view.
We are planning to shift from Bex Reporting to business Objects. If I create an iview for WebI report and have the WebI report on the Portal, can we do the same. Can we still edit the Report and save a different report of it or is it more like a static page with just the data.
We need to give atleast 100 users the ability to get to these queries and make changes to them as they like and save their own views.
Also what is Knowledge Management? Does that give us the ability to create webI reports in enterprise Portal. Please calrify..

you can edit a report which is visible over a URL iView and save it in the BOBJ repository under a different name (assuming your user has been assigned the appropriate auhtorizations in the bobj repository). The problem is that the iView will always invoke the original report.
I would recommend using KMC. It provides you with the ability to view and create WebI reports from within the EP. Another option is to add a URL iView, hich starts the InfoView (simplified: BOBJ Portal) from within the portal. But the look and feel over the KMC integration is more EP complient.

Ans: As a EP administrator you have to take care of all all the issues regarding the:
1. Creation of Users, Groups, Roles.
2. Assigning the roles to the user.
3. Creating and managing the groups and assigning the users to grops.
4. Taking care of all the portal Object created. Checking of all the Portal related logs for insuring that all the portal services are working fine.
5. If there are some issues regarding the users data and there objects then you have to take care of that.
I guess you must be knowing that there are few roles that you need to have the full control of portal. You must these roles to manage all the administrative functions of the portal.
Ques 2. Also What are the activities of EP Administrator?
Ans: Well this question is more or less same as above. I cannot figure out what extra you want to know here. But also let me tell you about the KM related issues in Portal. There is one part of EP that is KM (Knowledge Management). This is related with the Knowledge sharing using the management of the documents and other resources which are stored in the server repository. By this functionality you can manage the document and can share your documents and relevant data with other.
One more thing is Collaboration, related to the collaboration of various members of the portal. Here you can configure IM (Instant Messsaging), Desktop Sharing, and various other features.
I think this information will help you. If you want some more clarification then please let me know.

What are the default, given or otherwise features of SAP netweaver/enterprise portal. I do not want to redo a function or feature/template of the feature/basic iview (portlet) already exists. And where I can find/get these features.

yes, there is preconfigured content (templates) in the portal.
Have a look at [SAP Help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/5a/0338f80c0b11d7b84800047582c9f7/frameset.htm].
You'll find two entries in the left hand navigation: "Pre-configured Roles" and "Standard Portal Content".
The information is not that detailed but you might get a first impression.
Besides the standard portal content there are so called Business Packages, which provide pre-configured iViews, pages, worksets and roles for specific business processes / scenarios. You can find them [here in SDN|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/contentportfolio].

Portlet repository-- Seeded providers does not show Portal Content area

When I login to portal as admin user go to administration --> Display portlet repository--> Seeded providers does not show Portal Content area.I tried to search but no results shown.
Any idea as to how to get it back ?

1. From the Portal Object Navigator, click on the Applications
tab.
2. In the "Find" box, type %search% and click "Go"
3. There are 2 reports you need to modify, depending on which
portlet provider you want to use: RPT_SEARCH (owned by
people_app) and SEARCH_RESULT (owned by wwv_system)
4. For each report, click the "Edit" link
5. Click the "Display Options" tab
6. Under the "Full Page Options" heading, change the "Size"
for "Row Text" to 12. (If you are running the reports as
portlets, then you must also change the "Size" for "Row Text"
under "Portlet Options".)
7. Click OK
Search results are now visble using either portlet, the Oracle
Portal provider or the PEOPLE_APP provider.
You may also need to change the field settings on the hierarchy
if now when you run the people search you receive SQL errors.
Here is what worked for me (assuming you want to change both
users components):
1. On the Application Tab search for %search% and %detail%
components. You don't need to change the WWMON components.
Change the font size on the full page and portlet options
(Display Options Tab)for the heading and text (I use 12 and
11pt). Otherwise the default can only be read with a magnifying
glass.
2. The org chart components are slightly different. Search for %
org% and you will find 2 components org_chart and orgchart. Both
of these need to have the column fields changed (Table or View
Column tab) as well as the font size for the Parent, Child,
Grandchild (Display Options Tab). Here are the Table Column
settings (for some reason they are initially blank - yet will
fail if recompiled without values):

Do I need Enterprise Portal if we are implementing NWBC

I have a questions in regards to Enterprise Portal and NWBC. We are implementing SAP BW and the BOBJ ( Enterprise, Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence, Xcelsius and Explorer), do i need both Enterprise Portal and NWBC?
Can I just use NWBC to access all the BOBJ reports? or do i need portal and run NWBC ontop of it?

I am asking when we implement BW and all the BOBJ reports are created can we access and publish everything through NWBC? Or do i need portal as well as NWBC?
Also, if we decide to use BEx Analyzer, will this be able to published through NWBC?

Unable to SSO to Campus Solution Application from Enterprise Portal

i am using Peoplesoft HRMS & Campus Solution 9.0 on machine (cms1) and Peoplesoft Enterprise Portal 9.0 on machine (cms2). the peopletools version on both is 8.49.
The database name for campus solution is HRCS9 and for portal is EPORTAL.
after configuring nodes on both the databases when i try to SSO to my CS application from portal error screen appears "invalid User ID or Pasword"

please suggest me what to do to resolve it.

Check your trusted nodes in both applications.
To do this go to PeopleTools->Security->Security Objects->Single Signon
Make sure PSFT_HR is in the list under "Trust Authentication Tokens issued by these Nodes" in Enterprise Portal and PSFT_PA is in the list in HR/Campus Solutions.
You could also check your authentication domain for both to make sure it is the same.
This is set in PeopleTools->Web Profile->Web Profile Configuration under the General tab.

We are facing an error in system copy export of our JAVA only system in 6th phase "Archive Enterprise Portal data" .

1. We tried running the export with SIDADM user as well and followed the note 970518, but to end up with the same error.
2. We are already using the lated Installtion master.

Hello gurus!!
I'm configuring SRM 7.0 with EP.
I'm configuring the organizational structure, and steps guide (pdf and Solution Manager ) are:
1. Go to transaction SU01 and create an ABAP User. (SRMADMIN)
2. Assign this user the administrator role /SAPSRM/ADMINISTRATOR
3. As the administrator, creater the organizational plan
4. Create the remaining organizational unit
5. Using the Enterprise Portal application, Business Parter:Employee, create the user master records for the departmental managers.
How I must create the user in Enterprise Portal? What user I have to use to log on in the Enterprise Portal application? Has the user to be integrated in the organzational structure??

You can create users in WebDynpro application. You can also create users in USERS_GEN transaction.

Error when Integrating Ms Exchange server into Enterprise Portal

We are trying to integrate them MS Exchange server into Enterprise Portal and is facing the problem with WebDAV Repository manager.
i've already created a HTTP System given the right url for the system and i used the system in the WebDAV Repository, when i try to monitor the component called repository manager it is in yellow color and is showing the server status as start up failed and error msg is,

With a Live Office connection, you would typically use the URL iView and the opendocument URL to integrate the dashboard into the Enterprise Portal. There are existing posts on this forum about opendocument and Xcelsius dashboards.
Obviously you need to make sure the dashboard refreshes fine outside of the portal, for instance from Infoview.
Then, you need to look at the cross domain constraints : have both Infoview and Enterprise Portal in the same domain or use crossdomain.xml. They are lots of posts on this forum about that too.
