Enterprise Portal Post Installation

Hi all
I have installed SAP EP 6.0 SP2 and imported ESS and MSS as migrated contents.
I have created a super user in it.
1.Now I want that I should be able to view iviews of ESS and MSS.
2.Connect EP with my SAP 4.7 system.What is required for this becoz I dont have ITS is there any other alternative?
3.I was trying to find the administrative guide but could not find it in pdf format.
Please help as it is urgent....

You will first have to perform the following steps:
1. Activate Integrated ITS in your WAS. Follow the following link for documentation on the same.

Integrated ITS gives you two options to web-enable your SAP system - SAP GUI for HTML or IACs. There is a good presentation on SDN on Integrated ITS by Dr. Klaus Layer. Go through that too.
2. You will have to create iViews in portals for accessing the IACs in your integrated ITS. Follow the link below for documentation for the same.

Hello everyone,
I am a beginner in the area of SAP Enterprise Portal. Please bear with me in case if I ask you stupid questions.
"Our idea is to deploy the BIW 3.5 IVIEW over the portal"
I have installed the SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 SP6 on Windows 2000 server environment. I have followed the install guide and I have done the installation successfully. I am also able to logon to the portal server using the irl url http://sodium:5000/irj/portal as an Administrator.
As a BASIS administrator point of view, what are the next Post Installation activities that I need to perform?
(Our idea is to deploy the BIW 3.5 Iview over the portal)

Hello Nikee,
Simply define the SAP BW system, add an Alias, import portal certificate (for SSO), and start creating functional iview that can render your BW queries and reports.
Create a System pointing to the BW server with the following details:
a) System ID
b) Client
c) Web Access Point with "WAS" as category containing the following
entries: -
· Protocol
· Hostname
Note: Domain name of WAS should be same as portal domain
After that create BW iviews
QueryString is in the form "CMD=LDOC&infocube=myCube&query=myQuery"
You should have WAS on the BW server and also IGS shall also be present.

Oracle Enterprise Repository post installation steps failed.

Hi,
I was able to install Oracle 11g Express and Weblogic 10.3.6.0 and 11.1.1.6.0 and when try to follow post installation steps to extend a domain installation fails with following steps. Could you please assist me

After installing Oracle DB, did you Install RCU setup succesfully??
If not, Install RCU and then procced.

Subject : During the Post Installation task of Enterprise Portal such as Run Configuration Wizard u201CNWA_01u2026..u201D to u201CNWA_07u2026..u201D for portal system. Run u201CInitial setup of functional unit Development Infrastructure (DI all-in-one)u201D in development portal.
Problem : Can anyone guide me how we are doing ( executing ) task i.e.Run u201CInitial setup of functional unit Development Infrastructure (DI all-in-one)u201D in development portal.What this is step is doing as well as what all the prerequisites for this step.
Work Area : Dev portal with Java stack only.( SP Level is 17)
Please guide me on this step as well as all Configuration Wizard steps( NWA_01 to NWA_07) so that I can finish with the post installation of portal.

Enterprise Portal Sneak Preview, quick installation guide

Two or three months ago I have installed the SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Portal Sneak Preview SP9. For this purpose I have used the quick installation guide which formerly could be found under the following web-address:

Post installation for Portal and errors for new system

I've recently installed a NW 7 based ABAPJAVA System with Portal Components (EPEP Core) on Windows + Oracle for demo.
1 ) Since, I am facing a lot of errors after the installation, I think I have missed to carry out some post-install steps. Can someone please suggest on the post-installation steps in some detail ??
2) When I try to open the newly installed portal using http://fqdn_host:50000/irj ; the browser shows some exception has occurred: However, I tried to restart the system (everything including db) as suggested in some of the other links and login went fine.
After I logged in to the portal (/irj) as j2ee_admin; I am trying to open Content Administration --> Portal Content OR System Administration -> Transport OR --> System Configuration etc ; but I am getting the error coded below::
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/defaultDesktop/frameworkPages/frameworkpage/com.sap.portal.innerpage/com.sap.portal.layoutPortal1_WAandNavPanel
Component Name : com.sap.portal.layouts.framework.WAandNavPanel
Error occurs during the rendering of jsp component.
Exception id: 05:05_25/03/10_0032_7012350
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
The log file (that I believe is the trace file in cluster/server0/log/defaultTrace.0.trc) says (This gives several such exceptions listed in the file.) (I'll put the log as a comment to the post because of the limit on max characters)

Please check that server is Running but not able to open some application. I would suggest to check the Enviromental Variable for My Computer :-
- Database Enviromental variable is added or not under "user vairable for <UserID for Server Desktop>
- Check JAVA_HOME Enviromental variable is added or not under "System Variable'
Check at (My computer > Properties >> Advance >> Startup and Recovery >> Enviromental Variable >> System Variables/User varaible
Update your server IP address and host name in host file entry at (RUN > drivers > etc > host file) and check database server services (Run > Services.msc >> Start your database services manually and change prperties as automatic)
Then try to open portal URL http://<Host>:<Port>/irj/portal or http://<Host>:<Port>/index.html

But now we want to install a Enterprise Portal on this stack also.

Hi Artsiom, I am going through the same exercise at the moment, and the way I understand it is that LSM Portal is a standalone apps running on a j2ee WAS application server (LSOFE) that can be integrated within the EP portal. The Learning Portal can be called directly by the SAP WAS or it can be integrated as an iView in SAP Enterprise Portal.
Essentially BSPs, so my guess is either integrate the content running on this LSOFE or incorporate BSPs into the EP.

Then open "Installation & Upgrade Guides - SAP NetWeaver 7.0 - Installation"
In the section "Planning" you will find the Master Guide.
Read the Master Guide to determine the installable units, the SAP systems required for your IT scenario, and the installation sequence. MG will drive you to the relevant Install guide which help you to fulfill all the pre- and post-installation steps as well the installation itself.
P.S.
Usually "Running an Enterprise Portal" scenario requires at least EP, EPC and AS JAVA usage types to be installed

POST INSTALLATION ERROR : JSP ?? HELP OUT

My Pre Installation Steps were perfect
The installation went fine
I Installed on XP, used Cygwin, and VC++, as given in the blog, for installing on XP
Everything went fine.
It took me over 5 hours for staging and installing
But at the last stage
Post Installation Steps checks was stuck some where
I am sending you the last part of log file. It might help you to detect the error.

Do you have a valid entry in the hosts file?
I would suggest you change your hostname "sid-87f00f29add", and check then. You can either change it and start the installation all over again OR follow the steps outlined in the following notes to do that.
