Enterprise / Premium Support Plan for Firefox

Hello there!
We are from IBM, and we work with Firefox APIs. At times, we need support on some business-critical issues, for which we are looking for a suitable corporate support plan.
Could you please guide me on this: If there is such a enterprise support plan in place? And, if so, how to go about procuring it?
Thanks.

  • What is WebEx Support Manager for Firefox/Netscape/Chrome? I didn't install it!

I found a new program - Cisco WebEx Support Manager for Firefox/Netscape/Chrome v 6.5.4917 installed on June 29, 2009 , which I did NOT install! This program showed up after installing Revo Uninstaller for the first time today (July 3, 2010)! Is this part of Firefox? Or did a hacker install this onto my computer without my consent?
    == This happened ==
    Not sure how often
== I had to Clean Install Windows or my internet security program!

No, it's not a part of Firefox. It may be a plugin type of program for non-ActiveX browsers to provide functionality that ActiveX provides in IE.

You might want to ask them how it may have appeared on your computer.

  • WebElements: Support planned for Crystal Reports for Enterprise?

    Hi Jamie
Currently only Crystal Reports 2011 is supported with WebElements 2.47. Is there a plan to support Crystal Reports for Enterprise in the future? Or are there technical obstacles which prohibit this "by design"?
    Regards
    Raphael

    hi Raphael,
crystal reports for enterprise on bi 4.0 will not support webelements as it does not have support for custom functions. webelements is built with custom functions. there are most likely other limitations with crystal reports for enterprise that will disallow using webelements.
this should not really affect anyone that's using webelements unless they really want to use the new semantic layer / universe.
given that you could probably still build your reports that contain webelements with crystal reports 2011 and call anything built with cr for enterprise. the best practise for webelements is to create a container report with all of the webelements controls and then call the target in an iframe or in a new tab or window.

  • We are in urgent need of the end of support date for Firefox 3.6. I have been unable to find this information anywhere. Can someone please provide the date, or a link to the location on the Mozilla web site for lifecycle dates?

We are currently supporting an older application which will no longer be patched for future browser releases. We need the end of support date, so we can plan accordingly. Any assistance is truly appreciated.

Hi Tony, and thanks for the reply. I was hoping that might be the case.
Does Mozilla not publish lifecycle dates for Firefox? The reason I am inquiring further, is that our intention is to have upgraded the product we are currently running by late August of next year. I was trying to determine if 3.6 would be supported through August of 2012. I probably should have been more specific with my initial post.

  • LSO: Ensuring learner desktop is "LMS ready" & support plan for E-learning

We are entering a time period with a significant rollouts planned for WBT's and on-line tests. Despite the efforts of our IT organization, our end user environment isn't quite as standardized as we would like. This creates the potential that when learners go into the Learning Portal to take a WBT or on-line test, things might not work as planned, leading to learner frustration and an increased volume of support tickets.
Examples of things which could go wrong include: (1) user has a pop-up blocker turned on, (2) user might not have the Java plug-in installed for their browser (or a really old version).
    So.....
    1) What do you do to minimize the risk of learners running into problems?
I'm especially interested in any attempts you've made to give users information to help self-audit their own PC's in anticipation of taking E-learning.
    2) What does your technical support plan look like for E-learning tickets?
What I'm interested in is what directions do you give to your Help Desk so they know under what circumstances they should route a call to a particular resource.
I  would like to hear from other customers who are live with LSO (300 or above) as to how you address these items.

Variability in content and users desktops are two major issues from a support standpoint. Some of our content is internal IP and created by employees with no instructional design background. For this we provide standard templates, standard creation tools and job aids to assist in creating a WBT that allows the user to know what to expect from one to the next. For desktop issues, we often identify known issues (a WBT requires a new version of Flash plug-in for example) prior to deployment and have the specific technology pushed to all user's desktops.
For issues like pop-up blockers, we note the need to disable them completely from the users Learning Plan where they access the content since this is a common problem. As issues are identified and solutions determined, we make sure the helpdesk is notified. This is then added to their ticket management support checklist depending on the issue that was originally reported. If the helpdesk (Level 1) can't resolve the issue over the phone then they refer it to the developers (Level 2) who contact the employee directly. The developers close the loop by communicating the resolution to the helpdesk for future use.
    Hope this helps.

  • WHERE ON MY COMPUTER DO I FIND THE USER SPECIFIC SUPPORT FILES FOR FIREFOX?

I am unable to print anything from the web. When I change user names, I am able to print. I called apple computer and they located the problem to be in the specific support files in firefox, but could not tell me where to find them. I am told that if I can find the specific support files, I can cure my problem. Currently, when I try to print, nothing happens and if I try to make a pdf of anything on line, it is blank when opened. Firefox used to work just fine.

    Hi massurfer,
I am not sure that you need regedit, but this might be helpful,

This explanation of customizing localstore.rdf looks possibly helpful as well:

  • Is 64bit support planned for all toolkits?

    Hello,
some years ago a programmed a large application in LabVIEW 2010 with the help of some toolkits.
Currently I am thinking about switch to LabVIEW 2013 but in the 64bit version and update some stuff.
To my surprise almost no toolkit included in the Developer Suite Core Edition has a 64 bit Version.
Is the support planned or should I avoid doing anything new in LabVIEW since I can never use the large amounts of memory any computer offers today.

    Sense wrote:
Actually the toolkits (VI Analyse, Advanced Signal Processing Toolkit, PID Toolkit) don't need that much memory and my program currently fits inside the limit of around 4 GB .
But still I want to switch to 64bit and I don't want lose the ablity to use the toolkits.
Of course I could find ways to reduce the memory requirements of a new program and always use the 32 bit version of LabVIEW.
But why shouldn't I use the 32 GB RAM I have if I want to.Actually that "32GB limit" is understated by vast orders of magnitude in theory...you'll run out of phyisical RAM far faster than Addresses in x64
    I guess my point is:
The first LabVIEW version which supported 64bit was 2009.
Now nearly 4 years later I can't see any progress in the transition from 32bit to 64bit at least regarding toolkits.
This is just a guess (Fairly well thought out but, just a guess)
There is no difference in licensing LabVIEW x32 and x64.  In fact, I believe you can have them installed side-by-side (Never tried this myself)
Not many applications actually REQUIRE x64 as of today and very few LabVIEW applications developed with the current toolkits would require x64 architecture since (Drumroll please....). The existing x32 Toolkits WORK in a 32 bit architecture.
So, there is no market need to provide the existing toolkits with features that they do not take advantage of.  Are you following so far?
Toolkits that CAN and MUST take advantage of a 64 bit OS cannot be deployed on 32 bit systems.  What advantages do you feel you can provide your user's by moving a 32 bit TK to 64 bit?

  • I'm using a mac, my profile can't be found, firefox won't open, and I don't have an application support file for firefox.

I tried to reset firefox because it was running slowly, in the middle of it "cleaning up" my old files something happened and firefox closed. I tried to reopen it and it kept coming up with an error message about my profile not being able to be found etc. I tried looking for solutions but couldn't find one that I could follow. Please help.

Follow the instructions to create a new profile. Then test it.
After, you can move your files from the old profile to the new one.

  • Are there any plans for Firefox Sync to include the customisation of the toolbar?

It's frustrating that Firefox sync doesn't include toolbar customisation data. It's otherwise a great piece of functionality that means when installing Firefox I don't have to set anything up apart from remembering to rearrange the buttons to my preference. This also goes for whether the menu and bookmarks toolbar are displayed.

hi gsoper, i've asked in the firefox sync channel about this and it's not something that is on the roadmap for sync at the moment, as that would be difficult across versions, platforms, when add-ons differ, and so on...

  • Which support plan do I need? VS2013 web deploy troubleshooting

    Hi
I have an ongoing issue with completing a web deploy from VS 2013 to my Azure website. I have scoured the web and am not really any closer to finding out/nailing down what the problem is. The problem description can be seen here https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/64241ed0-5594-4f15-8bb9-83ea3994d524/web-deploy-failing-from-vs-2013-warning-retrying-the-sync-because-a-socket-error-10054?forum=windowsazuredevelopment
I need help troubleshooting the issue and so I'm now thinking I need to get some more official support as most of my forum posts are not receiving responses.
I have a Windows Azure MSDN - Visual Studio Ultimate subscription....I currently am not eligible for technical support. I have options to upgrade to a support plan of: DEVELOPER, STANDARD, PROFESSIONAL DIRECT or PREMIUM support plan. What is the minimum
support plan required to create a ticket for this technical issue and receive help troubleshooting the problem?
The Developer subscription has the Unlimited Break/Fix 24/7 service...what does that mean exactly?
If someone could advise I'd be greatful,
    JK

    Hi,
Unlimited Break/Fix 24/7 service means it is available during business hours for local languages; 24x7 for English for all severities; 24x7 for
    Japanese for severity A only."
And All these 4 plans(DEVELOPER, STANDARD, PROFESSIONAL DIRECT or PREMIUM ) includes technical support.
    Have a look:

    Hope this information helps.

  • ALBPM vs Oracle SOA : Oracle Support Plan

    Folks,
I have been looking for Oracle's Support Plan for AL BPM 6.5, Oracle BPM 10.3 and Oracle BPM 11G.
Can you please tell me the planned end-dates for Support ( regular & Premium ) for these Products ? Can you please provide a link for any Document / presentation that outlines this information ?
I am able to get similar information for various flavors & version of Oracle Database, but not for the BPM offerings.

  • Distribution Planning for 11.5.10.2

    Hello,
I have a customer that is in the release 11.5.10.2 CU and they would like to have the Distribution Planning functionalities available in the R12.
By looking into the available responsibilities in this 11.5.10.2 CU instance I found a Distribution Planning and it looks like the one for R12.
    The questions are:
    1) Do we have available in 11.5.10.2 CU a Dist. Planning that has the same functionalities of R12?
    2) if yes, does Oracle support Dist. Planning in 11.5.10.2 CU?
    Many thanks for any response,
    Alberto

Hi Alberto. Yes, ASCP supports planning for distribution in 11.5.10, but no this does not mean it has all the same functionalty as Release 12. We added a significant amount of new capabilities for Distribution Planning in Release 12
