Entire Project Out of Synch

Hi Everybody,
I was working happily on a wedding and one day, for some unknown reason, everything in my sequence timeline is off synch by 5 frames. Should I just scoot everything down five frames and move on?
Thanks,
Vicky

I have a thought...
Go to the VIEW menu... somewhere down low is AUDIO FOLLOWS VIDEO.
I get this changed everynow and again. If your audio isn't going directly where your video is then you can get 5-as much as 15 frames off.
Usually happens to me when I've got video going to external monitor via FW and my audio is sitting there playing off the internal mac -- which I have going to the same set of speakers that it would go to if I had been monitoring off the deck. For me -- simple switch of that and a push of a button on my mixer and I'm fixed... I mean, my audio sync issue is fixed.
(Jim's cat story of old got me thinking on that last comment!!!)

In Aperture 3, how can I easily move entire projects out of my main Ap Library into other libraries?  My Ap library is running super slow because it's overloaded, so I have created two new libraries, but can't seem to move the projects into them?

    Hello Annabel,
To move entire projects export them as Aperture Libraries, and then import those Libraries into the other Aperture Library:
Select the Project in the Inspector, then
File -> Export -> Project as Library
    In the other Library do:
    File -> Import  -> Library/ Project
But I am not quite convinced, that the size of your current Aperture Library is responsible for the slowness of Aperture - Aperture is designed to cope with huge libraries.
You may want to post your hardware setup and details of your library, and some of the hardware experts here may help you to find the reason for the slowness.
A huge library should only be a problem, if the projects are too big, and if you have many, many smart albums at the root level of your library.
So keep the projects small, and try to move some of your smart albums to lower levels in your folder structure (then Aperture does not need to scan all of your images to build the smart album).
Other reasons for Aperture's slowness may be, e.g.
An overfull system drive and/or external drive (keep at least 20% of your drives empty)
    lack of RAM
a corrupted Aperture Library, that needs repairing
Have you checked those options, before you split your library? It would be a pity to split it, for you would loose the ability to browse all parts at the same time, to use all your images in the Media Browser, etc.

  • Multiclip project out of synch

    Newbie...
I've done a 4 camera multiclip music project and 1 of my clips has gone out of sych with the audio (the other 3 are good)....how do I fix this?

    Hi
As to the problem - This occured for me and a 1 hour / two Camera project
In this case - I had a true problem as one Camera didn't match the other.
My small hand held Camera was - Sencitive to movement of Camera - The big one was not
Switching set-up to let small Camera be stationary and big one Hand held made futher propjects
totally OK and in Sync over full 62 minutes. (miniDV tape lenght used)
The troubling project was best off with Audio from both Cameras - nobody commented upon it.

  • Checking out entire project

I'm trying to get RoboHelp 9 set up with Subversion. Thus far I'm using the RH UI to do everything, but I've seen posts from others saying they check the entire project in and out of source control. Can comeone please elaborate on how that works? I know that there are some files that you don't add to source control, such as the .cpd file. So how do you set everything up? Are you checking the folder that contains the project in and out? If so, how do  you omit the files that are supposed to be excluded?

    Hi,
You can check out the project from the RoboHelp GUI. Click Check out all to check out the entire project.
You can also use the client to check out all the project files at once. Typically, you would not integrate the project with version control. You just check in the files after you've closed RoboHelp.

  • How to zoom out to see entire project?

I can't zoom out far enough using the zoom slider to see the entire project.
Anyone know of a way I can do it?

Thanks for your help, it's a shame that there's no Overview view to see the whole project.

  • Projects folder and Events folder out of synch

I recovered a corrupt imovie projects folder by copying a backup and replacing the old imovie project folder. The imovie projects and events folders now seem to be out of synch. I can see my events, but cannot see not are allowed to create any projects. imovie crashes every time I attemp to create a new project. If I delete both folders and allow imovei to create new empty ones, all is well, but I have no events. I have mnay hours of movies and don't ant to have to reimport. Any ideas? thanks.

you can't, you might have to download a custom ROM that allow you to do that

  • Video and audio out of synch on burned DVD.  DVD project appears to be fine.  I'm using 1X speed to burn disc.  Project info indicates plenty of space.  What should I do?

Video and audio are out of synch on some chapters of a burned double layer DVD.  The iDVD (7.1.2) project seems to be fine.  I'm burning the DVD using a 1X speed.  What else can I do to solve this problem.  Based on the project information, I have plenty of space relative to the DVD capacity.

Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • I am trying to figure out how to save/share only a clip out of an entire project.

I am trying to figure out how to save/share only a clip out of an entire project. I do not want to delete the rest of the timeline as I want to cut/copy out several smaller clips and save/share them as their own files.  I am working on a copy of my original video, and I know I can just bring the project timeline down repeatedly to isolate this clip by deleting all else, but feel there must surely be a simple way to do this.

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
For now I will generalize the principles involved. If more details needed then, please supply the details of your situation and Timeline track placement.
You would place the gray tabs of the WorkArea Bar to span just the area to be exported.
    The tabs are set...
Move the Timeline Indicator to the start of the segment, hold down the Alt key of the computer main keyboard as you hit the left bracket key [
    then
Move the Timeline Indicator to the end of the segment, hold down the Alt key of the computer main keyboard as you hit the right bracket key ]
The critical step is to make sure that you have a check mark next to the "Share Work Area Bar Only" option in the export dialog (if the dialog has that option).
Please review and remember that the answers are in the details.
    Thanks.

  • I have a movie track and in that track I have a video loop of 10 seconds.  I want that video loop to repeat (loop) throughout the entire project.  How can I do this?  Right now there is a fades out white space after the video clip

I am working on a Garage Band Podcast.  I have a 10 second video clip in the Movie track and want to loop it for the entire project.  How can I co this?

Sounds like maybe you're using the same channel strip on multiple tracks? Make sure you're creating a new software instrument channel strip for each independent instance of Ultrabeat you want to have. If you use the same CS, then all tracks that use it will have to have the same kit.

  • Imovie 5.0.2, Stuttering playback and out of synch audio with visual.

I have edited a movie on Imovie HD 5.0.2, it is about 50 mins long. When I came to record back onto my Sony DCR-HC42E camcorder (I don't have a combo drive on my Imac) the playback is not acceptable. It stutters, freezes and after a while the audio becomes out of synch with the visual. The playback is generally not smooth enough either. I have updated to the latest operating system. I have chosen standard quality playback from the preferences option and am very frustrated at the poor results.
I have 20 GB of space left on the computer.
If anyone can suggest a solution I would be most grateful.

Mark, if your Mac has just 256MB RAM it's possible adding more RAM will improve playback and your export to the camera. I wouldn't bet on it, but it's certainly worth a try. (You need more RAM anyway, so it's a good idea nevertheless.)
There may be another way to successfully export your project to your camera. Even projects that "stutter" when played in iMovie often export correctly to QuickTime. (The export to QT is not time sensitive, unlike the export to the camera.) You should be able to export your project to a Full Quality DV movie, one of iMovie's built-in export options. Exporting to QuickTime "flattens" the movie, making it easier to play.
You would then import THAT movie to a new iMovie project. That project will probably export successfully to the camera.
You may want to test this by exporting the first few minutes of the project. (To export a group of clips instead of the entire project, select them and use the checkbox button "Share selected clips only" that you'll see in the export dialog.)
You're running low on disk space, so here's a trick to avoid iMovie having to make yet ANOTHER copy of the Full Quality movie when importing it. The movie will be about 12GB; it won't be small.
Instead of importing the Full Quality movie to a new project, create the new iMovie project, Quit iMovie, open the project package (Control-click on the project icon and choose "Show Package Contents" from the popUp menu) then drop the Full Quality movie into the Media folder. Re-open the project. The Full Quality movie appear in the iMovie trash. Open the Trash window and drag the clip to the Timeline. Save, then export to your camera.

  • Problems with a Published PDF audio/video that runs out of synch

    Hi,
I have a large (30minute) video, with a combination of audio,  flash videos with and without embedded music, and screens.
I published the captivate project to PDF, and then ran it using Abode Reader X and Flashplayer 11.01.
    It played fine.
However, I am getting feedback from various people that when they try and run the video, the initial embedded flv file (with music) starts off and then suddenly the entire PDF file goes wild displaying screens in 1 second intervals in no apparent pattern with the music from the embedded flv file still playing in the background, eventually the voice over starts but obviously out of synch as the slides still appear in these 1 second intervals.
I ran a few tests to see if this strange behaviour had anything to do with the Adobe Reader or Flash Player installed, but there seems to be no pattern.
I even upgraded one system to Adobe Reader X and Flashplayer 11 but still experienced this same problem.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this might be happening for some users and not for all? Or what other settings I might try looking at to solve the problem?
    Thank you,
    Tannis

We will need a lot more information about those Videos. This ARTICLE will give you ideas on the info that will be so very useful for us to help you.

  • Imovie soundtrack goes out of synch

I have had this problem a few times, and I would love any help I can get. I have edited movies that I have stored on tape. When I bounce them back into imovie to incorporate them into other projects or to make a dvd comp the sound track starts to ride out of synch with the video. I am not entirely sure what is doing it but I suspect it had something to do with titles added into clips. Maybe a font over the vid and not over black. I am not sure. Any ideas?

I am no expert but have been fighting out of sync problem for months. First, the best advice you've been given is 16 bit. But, if like me, you only have the out of sync Mov on tape this is what I had to do:
Import back into iMov, correct the sync, then share back to tape in 16 bit and make sure at all times cam is in 16 bit mode.
Now correcting sync is a lot easier said than done but this is what worked for me a few days ago. It was obvious that audio narration and lip-sync were lagging the video and by using frame advance from stop I counted an even 3 seconds (90 frames). I then extracted the audio, put it in timeline line under video and could see the first 3 or more seconds were blank. I selected (highlighted) the audio, clipped 3 secs off the front, and dragged the remainder 3 sec to the left. This corrected clips 1 and 2 (9.5 min each) but left the 3 minute clip 3 out of sync in the other direction. So I highlited the audio for clip 3 and dragged it back full right. It was only off about a second+ and the small gap had no audio, but none had existed there anyhow. I then shared back to tape, found sync ok and have since imported back, still in sync. The one move I am unsure of is whether or not I used "lock audio at playhead". Good luck!

  • Audio out of synch in iDVD--I'm screwed!

Okay, I researched this issue, and none of the solutions have helped so far. I've been shooting with a Canon GL2, and Sony digital tape for several years, and for the first time I can't get the audio to synch in iDVD. It plays well on iMovie '09, but not on iDVD.
I tried dumping preferences, reinstalling both iMovie and iDVD from iLife '09 disk and I still get the audio synch problem when it's imported into iDVD. It's not out of synch for the entire movie, but different parts of it.
I really need help here. This is a paid client project. If I can ever get this solved, I will start looking for alternative, more stable solution to video editing and DVD creation. It's apparent from the threads on this board that Apple has not gotten these two programs to work as they should.
I'm so desperate that I'll pay someone to download the project files and complete the project if your iDVD is working for you, because it's certainly not working for me.
I even tried exporting from iMovie '09 to iMovie HD and then dropping that file into iDVD. Same problem.
Please, if anyone has other suggestions, I'm all ears. I need to get this project done and to the client.

    Hi
    Then cheque
*Not knowing the origin to Your problem - General approach when in trouble is as follows.*
    • Free space on internal (start-up) hard disk if it is less than 10Gb should rather have 25Gb
    • Hard disk is untidy. Repair Permissions, Repair Hard disk (Apple Disc Util tool)
    • Delete iDVD pref file - *or rather start a new user/account* - log into this and re-try
iDVD pref file resides. Mac Hard Disk (start-up HD)/Users/"Your account"/Library/Preferences and is named.
    com.apple.iDVD.plist
While iDVD is NOT RUNNING - move this file out to desk-top.
    Now restart iDVD.
    • Program miss-match. iDVD 5.0.2, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.5.5 - is OK - DON’T work under Leopard
    • Program miss-match. iDVD 6.0.4, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.5.5 - is OK (might work under Leopard)
    • Program miss-match. iDVD’08 v. 7.0.1, Mac OS X.4.11 AND QuickTime 7.5.5 - is OK (might work under Leopard)
    • iDVD (08) v7 Locate theme folder. Move out iDVD1, iDVD 2 and eventually iDVD4 folders to desktop - re-try
    • Try a Cleaning CD/DVD that cleans the laser lens on the DVD burner/player
iDVD 6.0.4 and iDVD 7.0.1 are compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
Last resort. from Craig. Solved the problem!! Finally!!
I deleted every iDVD application and folder from my boot drive,
emptied the trash and then installed iDVD 08 using the customize option
and I am up and running.
If You do a re-install be sure to get rid of all iDVD old parts AND then EMPTY the Trash-basket !
    iDVD updated ?
    Apple Codec updated ?

  • Video and audio out of synch after export

    Hello guys,
I have 5 minutes long video on timeline.
1 audio and 3 video layers.
All looks good, but once I export it as QuickTime self contained movie (current settings) to my desktop, video and audio is out of synch.
Any ideas what it might be wrong?
    Thank you for any advise.

  • Just imported clips and edited as new project. closed imovie. came back later and the entire project was gone. i was not done so i did not finalize it. how do i get the program to keep my project in progress

running imovie on a powermac w 10.6.8. went through the tutorials. imported my clips, got the hang of basic editing, and created a project.
was pretty happy with it, but needed to shut down and come back to work on it later. when i did come back, the entire project was gone.
how do i get the program to save my work in progress, without finalizing it?
    thanks

So, everything worked out just fine!
I have all my material in the ProRes Codec on a seperate drive now. The project itself was kept or rather duplicated, the bin structure etc stayed the same but is linking to the newly created files. The playback and workflow is fluent. I am happy!
Time info: For about 120 GB of material the codec change process took 25 hours.
    Thanks for your help!
