Entire web page

With certain web pages, I do not have access to the entire web page. The left side of the page is unavailable as I cannot scroll any further to the left. (For example, on the NPR site, half of the left hand side column is inaccessible thus making it impossible to read the options.) I assume this is an adjustment I should be able to correct in some way, I just don't know how.

Hi Judy,
A couple of things you might try:
Try a different browser. I've come across a few websites that exhibit strange behavior with one browser but work fine with another.
If you've enlarged the text in your browser (e.g. Command + in Firefox) the enlarged type sometimes covers up other areas of the page.
Try a greater screen resolution. If your screen res is 832x764 for example, try it at 1024x78.
If none of these help, it may well be the fault of the webpage. Send a heads-up email to the webmaster.

Acrobat X has changed the way it interprets web pages. With acrobat 7 and 8, it would translate the entire web page as a single pdf page. With Acrobat X the calculation is gone. Is there a fix or work around this?

Old Fox....thanks so much. I do not have the HP smart web printing in my add ons or plug ins. I used SWP in my problem posting and should have spelled out HP smart web printing..sorry.
The NAME of the printer showed 'document converter'. WELL DUH! That was the problem all along. I have no idea how it got changed but I won't dwell on it. I have never had to look at those 'choices' because I don't need to change anything when I print but its never too late to learn.

Taking a snap shot of an entire web page

anyone know how to take a screen grab of an entire web page - i cant scroll down to take it?

You can't take of screenshot of the whole page, but it's easy to turn the entire web page into a PDF file. Perhaps that would be a viable alternative?
Just select File->Print and then in the Print dialog box, select PDF->Save as PDF.

Create an entire web page using cffile

I would like to create an entire web page using cffile..
it seems that the output attribute is where you put the
content like:
output="this is a test."
Q: so how do you add the full .htm content inside ....
output=""
... where there will be lots of other double quotes?
(if it involves 'escaping' characters - then I'll need some
help with that.)
Also : is it possible that the content could be some data
combined with an cfinclude - i get errors when i try this...

Well, I dont think I fully understand your intentions or
goals are. However, from what I gather so far, you could output the
data into pdf files. But like I said I dont understand what your
trying to achieve. As far as the errors with <..etc, if they are
included and you are trying to produce results those characters
very well could cause problems when you are trying to do something
that they were not intended to do.

How can I get just the text to resize, rather than the entire web page?

I used to be able to re-size just text on a webpage by typing Ctrl + +. Today, the entire webpage re-sizes, and when I move to another page it reverts. (I see this mostly in Facebook.). Why did this change, and can I go back to having just the text re-size?

Safari 5.1.2 cannot zoom in on entire web page

I upgraded to Safari 5.1.2 the other day and ever since, when I zoom in on a web page, only some text enlarges while the overall page sizing remains the same. This is quite annoying since zooming in at certain levels will cause some text to overlap other, fixed text. Is there any way I can go back to a previous version of Safari or fix this defect?

Are you using Command + to enlarge the entire page, not just text?
And check your setting in System Preferences > Universal Access - Seeing
You can Zoom Text Only from the Safari > View menu.

How do I get Firefox to print the entire web page instead of truncating when it gets to end of first print page?

Firefox 3.6.8, Windows XP Pro
Frequently when I try to do a print of a web page, I end up printing only whatever fits on the first printed page. Instead of continuing to later pages as needed, the rest of the displayed web page is simply ignored.

Mail will open up with the page selected.
In the header, on the rightside under the address, there is a box for "Send web content as:".
Click in that box and select "Link only". Link should appear in the mail.

Pro's and con's of creating an entire web page with Edge?

I was just curious if anyone else had thought about this?
along this line of thinking, I noticed that in hte preview versions of Edge, you added the "text" of the animation directly into the web page your animation was in. Now, it is all kept outside of hte page. Great for ease of uese but what about SEO?
Again, just curious - I could see some VERY DIFFERENT web pages being created this way! :-)

I should add that using the Accesibility element property (Title/Tab Index) will also assist in your SEO quest when used with the Publish as Static Html.

Unable to open any links. The entire web page appears greyed

Ever since I stayed at a hotel this weekend and tried to use their wifi, I have been unable to do any more than access a single web page at a time. The page appears grey, and the links and scrolling are not operative.
Does anyone have any ideas.

I suggest you go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. After resetting, you will probably need to reenter any WiFi passwords.

Internet explorer not loading entire web pages

I am having an issue with internet explorer only loading certain parts of select web pages, like espn fantasy football etc. Sometimes the information shows up but does not seem to be formated correctly, the information is low on the page and cannot read certain things. Can anyone help

In addition to what Ron JACKLE & Elizabeth already stated, because IE is no longer supported, you should be using the latest version of IE:
Internet Explorer 5.1.7 for Mac OS 8.1 to 9.x
Give it loads of memory. 300% is strongly recommended as it is memory starved.
Because IE is no longer supported & if you wish to continue using it, you will need to babysit it and give it TLC & do a voodoo dance every week to keep it running smoothly. This is the main reason why I got rid of it. I don't have time for this BS.
Once a week in IE Edit>Preferences, delet History, Empty Cache (if you have cable set Cache to 0).
Once a week Go into the system folder>preferences folder & trash the following preferences:
finder
ASLM
PPC Registration Database
Cache.waf-found inside the MS Internet Cache folder
MRJ Cache folder-a new one will be recreated.(If not found go to System folder>Application Support>MRJ Cache folder-trash all you find inside-(DO NOT TRASH THIS FOLDER)
Download Cache-found inside Explorer Folder
Downloads.html-found inside Explorer Folder
History.html-found inside Explorer Folder
Rebuild your desktop w/extensions off. Use Techtool Lite or Trash*Desktop - may delete Finder comments to rebuild your desktop w/extensions off. Does a better job than manually & you avoid all the finger gymnatics. You just have to hold down the shift key to shut off extensions.
Restart to turn the extensions back on again & empty the trash.

If the above does not work, then dump the %#&*X@ & check out other Mac browsers

Firefox 3.6.15 Can not print entire web page

When using the print icon or "print preview" I only get/see the first and last page of a web page, all pages in between are missing. Only time it prints correctly is when web page is 1 or 2 pages.
Copying URL to IE and printing works fine.
This used to work. I think problem started with last Firefox update.
I updated to 3.6.14 and a few days later 3.6.15 was released to fix bugs and not sure which version it started with.
It worked in RC 3.6.13

how to put wallpaper on web page like you can with internet exployer...the white bright pages are killing my eyes. ugh...if this isn't fixed i'm devoricing 'firefox.... and won't miss you at all

You can use the NoSquint extension to set font size (text/page zoom) and text color on web pages.

Is there a way to make the spell check work on the entire web page without making the content editable? Or at least those boxes that appear when you enable spell check on the entire page, can you make them disappear?

I found an addon that allows you to spell check on the webpage but it make the entire page editable and these boxes appear on everything i highlight. Can i get rid of the boxes?

I had thought this situation was solved but it just got worse. In addition to being without service for several days I am now being charged a cancellation fee for a broadband service that BT disconnected in error. BT Vision was also terminated by BT but the set up charges are still in place. Does anyone know who the relevant Ombudsman is? I called BT from America on Friday - for an hour - while someone called Aruj sorted out why there is an order 'in progress' that I didn't initiate; why I have fees relating to a problem created by BT and why there are references to a house move that didn't take place and a BT Vision service I no longer have but didn't cancel myself. He assured me it would be rectified and my bill would be reduced by 139 pounds and we would get confirmation of this later that day. I asked him what chance there was that this would not actually happen - he said no chance at all; my new bill would be 23.50.
There was no text message. An online chat person today told me there had been a fee reduction request which had been declined and there was nothing else he could help me with as he dealt only with broadband. But he would get BT Vision to email me. They always seem so helpful.............
I'm sure I'm listed somewhere as 'a problem', there's no other explanation for why I get the runaround
