"Entitlement" Download Login Loop

Does anybody else get trapped in an endless loop trying to log into the "entitlements" download page? I have a legit Adobe ID and rightfully own some software. But getting legacy software downloaded and activated on a legacy computer seems to be a lot harder than it should be.
https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2%5Fdownloads is the offending page.
Thoughts? (and prayers).
Thanks

Did a clean install, cloned the HD with SuperDuper and then used Mig. Asst. to restore data back to the original HD. All now OK.
A & I was done in the initial upgrade from Tiger.
Cheers,

  • NBC Olympics Live Extra login loop.

When trying to watch the NBC Olympics streaming I get stuck in a Login loop. You are asked to sign in to your provider which in my case is Dish and I enter my information and it goes away and then comes right back asking my provider again over and over. It works fine in IE and and Chrome and I have gotten it to work in Firefox only once but it quit working. When it did work it was MUCH better in Firefox (faster and smoother). I've tried reinstalling firefox, clearing history, reinstalling flash, clearing flash cache, tried without any addons in firefox all to no avail. I'm currently using the latest verison 14.0.1. Any ideas would be great as I much prefer Firefox to the other options.

Done all that, that is always the first thing I try when a site is acting screwy. :(
I also received the following from NBC support which also did nothing to help.
    Thank you for contacting us.

  • 10.5.3 - Login Loop after update

    Hello,
after upgrading from 10.5.2 to 10.5.3, which ended with an error, which I unfortunately clicked away, I am stuck in a login loop. Login name and password are apparently accepted, but after a blue screen appears for a few seconds, the login window reappears instead of my desktop.
Article: 306965 seems to address the problem, but it is rather old and meant for the iMac.
    Thanks,
    Thomas

Do you have a backup (clone?) from before you did the install? If so, then you should be able to restore from the clone. If not, make sure that you do in the future. Cloned systems make life relatively easy!
Failing that, try booting off your install CD and enable the root (admin) user. Then download the combo update (the 500+ MB one) and rerun the install of 10.5.3
    Cheers,
    Rodney

  • Login Loop

I have a Macbook Pro 5,5 with snowleopard on it. After downloading Mavericks, having a kernal panic that didn't allow my computer to reboot back up and reinstalling Snow Leopard my computer has now gotten stuck in a login loop. My computer originally wouldn't recoginze my password as right, so I changed it through Utilities. When that didn't work I tried reseting it in Single-User mode. After that, that's when it got stuck in a login loop. That's when I gave up and decided to just wipe it clean, again, and start from scratch but now I can't even do that. I can not go into any other screen or even boot up in safe mode. Is there any thing else I can do to just log in to my computer? If you can help that would be great, but please don't suggest pressing any buttons on boot up that I've described above because you'll just be wasting my time, as well as yours.

    Frustrated2012:
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Following up to Richard's suggestion to boot from the install disk, if you are able to do so successfully, try this:
    Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it says anything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior
Please post back with an update or with further questions or comments.
    Cheers

  • GarageBand '11 won't download additional loops

    Hola,
I have GarageBand '11, running on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. The Apple loops have lots of greyed-out loops that need downloading. I click to activate one, it tells me I must download the loop now or later. I click Now, it goes to Software Update which tells me there is nothing left to download because I am completely up to date. I restart GarageBand, and still the loops are missing.
    It's very frustrating!
In my Software Update download history it says the loops have already been downloaded, yet GarageBand still can't see them.
Anybody got any idea what to do?
    Thanks,
    Graham

I just ran into this and managed to solve it, but it was a pain.  Here's my situation:
    New iMac 27 inch
Used Migration Assistant to transfer all user accounts, user files, and applications off of an older (late 2006) iMac that had been upgraded to Snow Leopard and iLife '09
When trying to install the full set of Apple Loops and Software Instruments, I got the infamous "run Software Update but nothing ever downloads" problem.  After doing a lot of looking on these boards and elsewhere, I decided to uninstall GarageBand '11 and reinstall.  Uninstalling GarageBand '11 is a pain too; here's what I did:
Deleted GarageBand from the Applications folder
    Deleted the /Library/Application Support/GarageBand folder
Deleted the /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Apple Loops for GarageBand folder
Deleted anything related to GarageBand in /Library/Receipts
And everything in ~/Library/Application Support/GarageBand (this is optional I think)
I then reinstalled GarageBand from the second install disk that came with my new computer, fired up GarageBand, and downloaded the recommended update.  Finally, I opened up a new Loops project; in the Loops Browser, selected one of the missing loops; got the "run Software Update now or later" dialog, and said "Later"; quit GarageBand.  Finally, I opened Software Update, and lo and behold! the near-mythical GarageBand Loops and SW Instruments update was there, all 1.2 GB of it!
I wish that Apple would come out with a patch for this, but in the meantime, if you're situation is similar to mine (upgraded GarageBand '11), you might try the deinstall / reinstall route and see if it works...

  • Login "Loop" issue after upgrading to Leopard from Tiger-iBook G4

    Hi Guys,
I've the same login "loop" issue as described in *Apple KB article #306965* only on an iBook G4, unfortunately the solution offered in the KB article does not help.
There is one slight variant being that the user desktop appears for a second or two after the blue screen following login before it returns (loops) to the login window. It happens on all (2) user accounts.
The interesting thing is it doesn't occur on either account when booting in 'safe mode'.
Apart from deleting these accounts and saving/transferring the data are there any other ideas, suggestions or solutions?
    Regards,
    BB

  • Lion 10.7.4 upgrade caused login loop

I upgraded my 2008 MacBook Pro [Intel processor, 4 GB RAM, 250GB HDD to the latest security release for Lion two days ago.  I now have a vexing problem.  After typing the login password at the login screen OS X Lion 10.7.4 tries to log me in but then returns to the login screen.  I've checked login loop problems in earlier OS versions with no resolution.  They all indicate that it is something similar but unfixable.  This also happens with the "root" uid.  As an old UNIX hand I would be suprised if there were not some way to fix this problem.  Can anyone help, please?!

Hi, I just came across the same problem. After investigating I kept it simple and did a re-install. That worked for me just fine. Otherwise you need to try what others wrote, look at the right coloumn "More like this". Good luck.

  • In case someone has a login loop with Mac Lion

Yesterday I had a login loop on my Mac Lion. I spent about 10 hours reading forums and interpretating the system logs, but nothing. Tried to log-in, then grey screen for a second, then back to the log-in screen.
So, in this scenario I managed to have it up and running again
The solution was to go to the recovery mode, that is after starting the MAC press CMD+R. There open a terminal and type resetpassword. A program will pop-up. There you have to activate the root account giving it a password.
After it, you have to let the Mac think you are missing the last step of the installation, following this guide http://www.hackmac.org/hacks/how-to-create-a-new-administrator-account/
Now, it's like you are brought to the very last step of a typical installation. Create an account and do whatever you want included to set (via the root user you activated before) the other login as automatic.
The key is to make one login automatic, maybe the old one to which you could not access.
    Hope this will help someone!
p.s. this, obviously, shows how insecure a Mac is, I must sadly admit. Basically everyone can hack every account, even not knowing the password… or maybe I am wrong?

    Good tip!
p.s. this, obviously, shows how insecure a Mac is, I must sadly admit. Basically everyone can hack every account, even not knowing the password… or maybe I am wrong?
This is not only mac - basically full physical access = full access.
You wouldn't be able to open file vaults though.

  • Not the usual 'login loop' problem, help.

The login loop problem I'm facing is not the usual login loop problem when starting up mac; it's when I'm trying to log into websites or applications (most of them, eg. facebook, instagram).
    I have tried:
using other browsers: Safari, Firefox, Maxthon, Chrome
clearing all cookies / caches / keychains / passwords
    repairing disk
    deleting launchservices cache
    using other userid to login
    All to no avail.
How do I solve this without having to reformat/install mac?
    Thank you.

Hi, are you using Parental contrils or a managed account, or an admin account?
    Using any Anit-Vrus software?

  • How to download apple loops for Garageband 10.0.1 ?

How to download apple loops for Garageband 10.0.1 ?

If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailier like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com.  Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides  themes from iDVD 5-7.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:
This shows the iDVD contents in the iLife 09 disc via Pacifist:
You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.
Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar.  Select Size = Medium or Large.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
And yes, iDVD 7.1.2 will work with Mavericks.
    Happy New Year

  • Login loop - Apple fixes don't work - HELP!

My iMac 20" (Core Duo) which had been running fine under 10.5.3 has suddenly died.
When I power it up, I get the login window, with my users. Logon as a user, it goes to blue screen, then goes back to the login window.
I've tried the solutions in Apple's note on recovering from the login loop after upgrading to Leopard (although my computer has been working fine after upgrading to Leopard the day after the new OS was released). Nothing works.
I am unable to force it to boot from the Install DVD - holding down 'C', 'option', or 'cmd-shift-alt-delete' are not effective in getting the iMac to boot from DVD.
I am unable to enter into safe or verbose mode at login using either cmd-S or cmd-V. Either combination simply gets me eventually to the login window, where the loop starts.
Zapping PRAM did not make any difference. In fact, I did not get the usual double-chime at all.
I was finally able to get a terminal prompt by entering ">console" as the 'other' user at login. Once there, I attempted to carry out the steps in Apple's note. However, while I am in the console mode, there is a constant stream of error messages, even as I type. By ignoring the error messages and typing, I was able to login and enter my password. I was also able to execute 'mount -uw' (without a / at the end) per Apple's note, and thereafter keyed in the launchctl and ls commands as listed in Apple's note.
However, when I key in the 'dscl....' command as listed in Apple's note, I get stuck. Error messages continue to scroll on the screen, but I do not get a further console prompt.
Seems like my iMac is hosed. Any suggestions/solutions? It's still under AppleCare so I can bring it back to Apple, but I'd like to try and solve it myself so I can safeguard the data on my harddisk.

Phew, being able to login to the other user account on the Mac was the solution. Once I managed to login to that account (had forgotten my wife's account password), I did an Archive & Install of Leopard, per this Apple support document: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1413?viewlocale=en_US
The funny thing is that the Apple document was to remedy a login loop after installing Leopard on an aluminium iMac, whereas mine is the older iMac 20" Core Duo (bought in March 2007). It had been running fine after installing 10.5.3, and I really have no idea what triggered this sudden failure.
    Anyway, working fine now.

  • Login loop while buying an app

I'm trying to buy an app on my iPad, and I'm getting stuck in an infinite login loop.
    What happens is:
I go to buy the app (in this case it's Air Display), I hit the "buy app" button,
I sign in (as the usual protocol)
It goes to the home screen, and then a popup says "Verification Required: Before you can make purchases, you must tap Continue to sign in, then verify your payment info."
I hit "continue," a small box appears, and prompts me to log in AGAIN, I hit OK, and the login box keeps re-appearing asking me to log in.
So what's up with this? This is obnoxious. I verified my payment info on my mac on the iTunes account info page so I know that's out of the way.

Open iTunes on your PC, navigate to Store Home page - Use quick links to go to your Account.  Log in.  Verify payment info and email is correct.  Then check that youu have updated your Security info page (3 questions required etc)
Then check that your device is registered under Authorised devices.
You say you have no restrictions on - Does this mean that you have Restriction On but nothing set - or that restrictions itself is off.
If it is on, then you will need to set the apprpriate content restriction information for purchasing and playback of content.  When finished reboot and resync your pad to iTunes to confirm settings.
Hope this helps.  If you change a setting that is global and is used by itunes/App Store as well - always resync to confirm changes.
    regards, Ct

  • Downloading standard loops using Software Updates

Hi, I've got GB 08 but every time I try to add a loop to a song they all appear grayed out and, when I click on one, I'm asked to install the loops. I'm given three options, to download using Software Updates now, to schedule a download, or to install from DVD. Being as I don't have access to the DVD (it's at work in someone else's cupboard at present) I tried to download it. However, when I try to do this Software Updates tells me there are no updates needed for my system and that's that.
I've been through this forum looking for an answer and the only one I can see which is of any use tells me to use the DVD. If this is the only option why am I given the option to download? That's really daft and pointless. How do I download the loops?

we get a half dozen posts every day that can't D/L. i dont' know if that means the D/L just doesn't work at all, or if most people just naturally use the DVD. that said, i've never seen any solution for those trying to D/L other then using the DVD.

  • Endless login loop in itunes

I have just changed my password for my itunes account. I am trying to login into Itunes. It tells me that I need to be verified. I enter in all the information and it is an endless loop of login required screens.
I have already "managed my itunes" account through the website and verified my address and area code. Its not that.

I ended up granting another user admin status. After this I moved important files, using the shared folder, and then completely deleted the old user that was having trouble with the login loop. If you have "insufficient privileges," right click on an icon you want to move and select "get info." At the bottom of this thin window should be access, where you can type in the new admin password and change to "read & write." The folder or file should now be movable.
I haven't had the login loop problem since I deleted the old admin account. But, I finally purchased some anti-virus software which cleaned some things up too, so maybe its just a virus.
