EntityManager no longer being injected after upgrade

I upgraded the version of JSF being used by the Sun Java Application Server 9 to 1.2_02 by using the upgrade jar on the download site. After doing this, it appears that the JPA EntityManager is no longer being injected (I keep getting a NullPointer exception in the Controller's getEntityManager method).
Is there something I have to do differently with 1.2 to get the EntityManager injected?

After upgrading to Cisco Prime NCS 1.1.0.58 some of the client data is not being populated or gathered. The graphs labeled "Client Count By Association/Authentication" and "Client Count By Wireless/Wired" are no longer being updated? Not sure what was changed during the upgrade or where to look to get it to start collecting the data again?

Can no longer dual boot after upgrade

Hi I used to run mac osx 10.7 dual booting with ubuntu 13.04. I used to press alt at startup to view the different partitions and select the appropriate OS. After upgrading to 10.9 I can no longer see the ubuntu partition when pressing alt. The disk is still there intact, but there is no way I can directly boot to it from startup. I tried creating another partition using disk utility and installing a fresh copy of linux and using the old linux partition as backup but whenever I select the ex-fat (or any other type for that matter) (for linux) I get:
File system resize support required, such as HFS+ with Journaling enabled.
I erased osx 10.9 and reset to factory settings back to 10.8 but the same problem continues.
I am not sure what to do to get dual booting working again. I do have an ubuntu backup on an external drive, but I would prefer not reformatting that partition.

I don't know why you couldn't repartition the disk using Disk Utility. You would have to provide more information about why you can't.
As for OPTION booting Ubuntu I'm not sure how that worked. Typically Ubuntu installs the GRUB bootloader/manager that provides a text menu from which you select which OS to start. GRUB replaces the OS X boot manager.

Can no longer use pages after upgrade, even after three restorations! Huge inconvenience!!

Can anyone help me with why I can no longer use pages after the latest upgrade to iOS 7.04. I have restored my ipad three times and it still won't work. It s ahuge inconvenience when all my documents are on pages. If you can get back to me as soon as possible that would be great!!

Turn off iCloud for Pages on your mobile device at Settings > Pages > Use iCloud > Off.
Open Pages on your computer and move any documents in iCloud to your desktop for safe keeping.
Navigate to system preferences > iCloud > Manage and check that Pages documents are not taking any space in the cloud, delete them if they are.
Enable iCloud syncing for Pages on your mobile device and launch the App.
If Pages now opens properly, start to add back documents from your desktop one at a time (or in small groups if you have many).

Can no longer find printer after upgrade to 10.6.7

I recently upgraded to 10.6.7 and now I can no longer find our network printer.
I am connecting by ethernet to a Konica Minolta IP-432 PS. I have updated the printer driver.
When I go to system pref to add this printer it is no longer being "found" .
Any help would be appreciated.

Wi-fi No Longer Turning On after Upgrading to Mavericks

After upgrading my MacBook (13-in Aluminum Late 2008), which is supposed to be compatible for said upgrade, my wi-fi is turned off and could no longer be turned on. I restored my system back to Mountain Lion and my wi-fi is up and running again. Is there someone out there who can help me fix this? Thanks.

There is a temporary fix, but it is only good for one power cycle. You go to System Preferences -> Network and delete the wifi entry by selecting it and then using the at the bottom of the selection box. Apply changes and reboot the Mac. On reboot go back into the network preferences and re-add the Wifi entry with the button.
This fix will work until you power off, restart, or exhaust the battery of the laptop. You can sleep without losing the capability. This actually has been a problem as of the last Mountain Lion update that hasn't been fixed with Mavericks.

Links in Word no longer opening Adobe after upgrade

Word unable to open abobe files from links after upgrade.
This issue has occurred before because I have seen it several times
in the corporate environments. Something to do with version 5
upgrading to version 7 that breaks the ability to open adobe links
in word and I believe other MS applications. Actually I think it
has an issue opening just a saved adobe file form the desktop.
Was wondering if there is a fix for these issues.

Spotlight no longer works properly after upgrade

After upgrading to 10.9, spotlight will nolonger access certain directories including applications file, utilities, mail, etc. I tried re-indexing my main drive, but nothing changed. Anyone know of a workaround?

Heating, Longer Startup issues after upgrading to Windows 8.1

It has just been about 1.5 years I have purchased this laptop and the way it is behaving now is killing me.
There was absolutely no problem while I was running Windows 8(which was my preloaded OS).
But after I upgraded to Windows 8.1 I am facing numerous problems which I am stating below.
Startup time has increased to double the time it took perviously( even after I disabled unnecessary startup entries ).
Laptop is getting heated from the moment it is started, no matter what I do or I do nothing and keep it idle(which earlier happened only when I played any high graphics game)
HP Support Assistant no longer works in Windows 8.1(I uninstalled and reinstalled it several times still no solution), so I am no longer able to get any technical support.
Right click on Desktop takes ~10 seconds to open up the menu(Once again checked and found no unwanted third party context meny handler entry blocking the right click)
Please help me out as soon as possible.

No audio on Timeline Premiere Elements 13 and no longer on 12 after upgrading to 13.

On my Mac with OS X Yosemite I've worked with Premiere Elements 12 for a while and it just worked fine. Now I;ve upgraded to Elements 13 and the clips that were fine the other day have now lost there audio when I put them on the Timeline. However if I double click the clip in project assets and play it on the clip monitor everything is fine, but as soon as I send it to the timeline or storyboard the audio disappears. I'm in a spot now as I can't use 13 and neither return to Elements 12. Any ideas will be very much apprexiated.

Just a week ago I created a movie with Elements 12 on this same Mac with OS X Yosemite and ij
just worked fine. On second thoughts the movie was a bit too long, so I
imported the saved project to re-edit it, only to find out that the audio
had gone for the greater part of the clips on the timeline. I closed
elements 13 and reopened 12 and the saved project with the same result.
When you got to second thoughts, what did you do....
a. rebuild the project anew in Premiere Elements 13?
b. import the Premiere Elements 12 export in Premiere Elements 13?
c. open the Premiere Elements 12 project in Premiere Elements 13?
I ask since you cannot import one project file into another and you wrote "imported the saved project".
You wrote after the file was drag from Premiere Elements 13 Project Assets to Timeline
only to find out that the audio had gone for the greater part of the clips on the timeline.
What was gone - the representation of the whole audio clip on the audio track or just the sound
for the whole? Was the duration of the clip listed in Project Assets, the same as observed at
its Timeline level?
If you took this Premiere Elements 13 Timeline (problem audio there) to export, was there sound in the export?
If you create a project in an earlier version, it is often possible to open it in a later version to work with the project in the later version.
But, you cannot open the later version edited project in the earlier project again. So, I was not sure what you were describing when
you wrote

Please consider deleting the Media Cache Files Folder where the program saves the automatically generated conformed audio.
To locate that Folder, on Windows I could go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks/Media Cache to find location for the Media Cache Files Folder. Is that the
same for Mac?
Also, please let us know if the flawed Premiere Elements 13 Timeline audio content exports OK or contains the flaws encountered before export.
Again, please excuse if I have included things that you were already aware of. Because of the nature of your issue, I did not want to take anything for grant.

ITunes No Longer Plays Music after upgrade to 10.7.3

Since upgrading to Lion 10.7.3, music has stopped playing in iTunes. I double click on a tune, and it looks like it is playing but there is no sound and the little progress bar doesn't advance across the screen. I can play the tunes in the latest version of QT Player. Any idea what might be going on? I am running M-Audio studio monitors through a FocusRite Scarlett DA/AD USB converter box.

Well, after a complete re-start, the problem has gone away. Now I just need to sort out audio and video problems with Skype and FaceTime. But that's for another section of this board. Sorry for the false alarm.

Apps no longer in Library after upgrading to 10.5.1.42 - help!

After I upgraded iTunes to 10.5.1.42, all my apps disappeared from my iTunes library. The one sone that was there has disappeared as well. It's as if iTunes lost the entire library. Any suggestions on how to recover?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. First, you should not be editing any files inside the iPhoto Library folder without going thru iPhoto. That's committing the cardinal sin of iPhoto - Don't tamper with files in the iPhoto Library folder from the Finder.
To try to get your library back on its feet download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, substituting your account name for mine. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field. See if that won't bring the thumbnails back and let you edit the full sized images in iPhoto.
To use PS with iPhoto you should go into iPhoto's General preferences and select PS and the editor to use when you double click on a thumbnail. Then when you do, that file will open in PS and you can edit. There is one caveat to that system: if you make a layered file or do any edit that makes PS want to save it as a psd file you must either flatten the image and save it as a jpg with the same file name and in the same location OR do a Save As and save it to the desktop. There you can import it into the library as a new file. Those workflows are required for iPhoto to know you've edited a file, create a modified version in the Modified folder and update the thumbnail.
The reason you couldn't import those files into iPhoto is that they are located in iPhoto's Library folder and it won't import any files from there because they are already in the library.
The BatChmod should clear up the thumbnail issue. If it doesn't I suggest you use iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild the library. It creates a new library and copies the files and any needed data from the old library, leaving it intact.
