I have an iMac and it came with Microsoft Office: Mac. I am getting an error message every time I try to start Entorage. The message states "Identity cannot be opened with this version of Entorage". That is a far as I get. I have tried to re:install but I run into the same problem. What can I do to fix this?

Not sure what this error is, but new Macs do not come with MS Office - they come with MS Office Test Drive, which is a 30-day free trial version of the software.
If you do/did purchase Office, you will need to completely uninstall the Test Drive or you may run into problems.

If it's '04 it won't run in Lion, Microsoft don't have native Intel code on this version and you'll need Rosetta to run Entourage which Lion doesn't support/offer. You can also click on the word "Entourage" in bold text to the right of the Apple logo and then click About Entourage. This will tell you the version.

Syncing iPod to Entorage

I use Microsoft Office on my iBook, and I was hoping to load a calendar into my iPod, but it only allows me (as far as I can tell) to sync to iCal. Anyone know how I can sync my iPod to Entorage's calendar and contact list?

I should clarify my original post. With the trial version (you can transfer, but not sync)--with the paid version (registration number sent to you), the sync option DOES work.
I didn't want you to think that the sync option didn't exist at all in the program.

Incorrect Year in some of my applications in My Imac OS X 10.6.8. For example I am using Entorage and all my years so far has the same year. How to rectify this? I went to system preferences but the year remains constant.

My years remains constant in some of the application. I tryed to change it by going through Time a nd date in Syatem prefernces but it does not change while Day and month change. How to correct it.

ok, i have done the bit above, what do i need on my ipad? the calendar, contact and email application here is not synced.

But iCloud will do the Mac (iCal/Address Book) to iPad part of the sync. He already has Entourage to iCal/Address Book syncing set up with Sync Services.
That won't work with iCloud.
To sync via SyncServices calendars and contacts need to be stored locally. To sync via iCloud contacts and calendars need to be stored on the iCloud server. They can't be in two different places at the same time.
This is why you cannot sync contacts and calendars in Entourage (kept in sync with Address Book and iCal via SyncServices) through iCloud to iOS devices.

Hello, I have iMac from Oct, 2010 and have OS 10.6.7 and multiple users. Mail icon was accidently removed along with program. Mail 4.4 is on other users but when I reloaded software my user got Mail 4.3. Mail 4.3 did not work with latest OS. Ideas?Matt

Hello, I have iMac Itel i3, from Oct, 2010 and have OS 10.6.7 and multiple users.
About 3-4 days ago the Mail icon in dock had question mark and was accidently removed, along with program on my user. Oops.
1. Mail 4.4 is on other users and works fine, but for me it does not work and tells me V4.3 does not work with latest OS X.
2. I reloaded software from my user with original disks (Oct, 2010) and got Mail 4.3 again. Mail 4.3 did not work with latest OS. I am unable to load Mail. Gives Yellow error message.
" You have Mail version 4.3 (1081/1084). It can’t be used on Mac OS X Version 10.6.7 (Build 10J869). For more information, click the Help button."
3. Tried to update software and look for update for mail 4.3 on Apple site to no success.
Hate to go to MS-Entorage ( I may need to learn something new and alien) mail program since contracts are in Mail/Address Book.
Ideas?

Multiple copies of the same message

I switched back to Mail from Entorage and I'm happy save one issue: I have two mailboxes --- one is my .mac address and the other my comcast account. Every message I get to my comcast account seems to replicate itself and ends up in my .mac mailbox too. I have no rules created, and can't figure out why this happens. Help!

and there are no rules active, right!. then i would suggest you quit mail, then trash the file com.apple.mail.plist in homefolder/library/preferences, launch mail again, and then create your email accounts again. back up any email/mailboxes you may have saved on your mac prior to that.

IT looked like it was via Windows entorage .....   and files erased,I HAD NOT USED THAT DID not know what it was and after the big conflict with a local group.....
and they scrambled.....?or added a new script ,thing aft and before my name, sent me odd messages,I suppose this was a way to remove me from the lists...BUT I SAY THAT I did zero wrong..... they lied,and is moot But I am compeled to divulge this fact.sorry

Mail no longer working after upgrade Tiger to Leopard

I know that there are some reports out there on the Internet but I can not find a solution that I trust. i upgraded from Tiger to Leopard and ever since my Mail program has completely disappeared. it is no longer in the dock, it is no longer in the applications folder and I went into the Mac Harddrive and found i. I dragged the icon on the dock and when I now start Mail the bar on top of the screen shows me that it started, but no windows come up. Under File most options are grey. i can see that all my mailboxsettings are still there. I have Entorage 2004 as my default mailprogram, but that gave never problems in the past and I use Mail for my google account. Under View in the menu almost everything is grey.

In addition the article cited, if you ran 10.3 or earlier prior to upgrading to Tiger, once-upon-a-time, you might also need to remove two files with MessageSorting in their names.

Sync w/entourage x, iCal version 2.0.5 & most current version of iCal

PowerBook G4 (work computer)
-Entourage X (I use calendar & contacts from the applicaiton everyday)
- iCal version 2.0.5
**currently I am importing my Entourage calendar into my iCal and exporting my contacts from Entorage and importing them into Address book)
MacBook (brand new home computer...haven't even opened the box yet)

-I don't currently have Entourage installed on this computer

Can I use the .Mac sync software to sync my Entorage X information with both the iCal on my PowerBook (version 2.0.5) and my new MacBook (most current version of iCal)? The end result, I'm hoping my iPhone can sync with my MacBook which will include the most up-to-date information from both my work computer (calendar & contacts) and my home computer. I'm not sure if I should keep my new MacBook if this can't be done...so any help is greatly appreciated.

If you disable your Bonjour Service are you able to launch iTunes?
In your Start menu, right-click My Computer and select "Manage".
Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Perhaps maximise the screen to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the Bonjour Service and select "Properties".
In the General tab, set the Startup type to "Disabled":
... and click OK.
Restart the PC and try another iTunes launch. Any better luck then?

Exchange 2003 SP2: 'Cannot get mail' - another one...

Background info:
I am running a budget exchange system, much like other small businesses out there. I have a self signed cert from an internal CA that i have installed on the exchange server and installed on the iphone. I dont get any cert errors when I log into OWA or OMA with SSL from safari on the phone so it would seem the cert is installed properly.
The only thing that likely differs from my environment is that we have a dynamic IP and use a pop3 connector to download pop3 email into the respective recipients mailboxes from a cheap pop provider and hence we dont own our own domain, instead we use dyndns.org to to update dns records (which works flawless/seemlessly)for us when our dynamic IP changes. So our email addresses are [email protected] while our owa/oma address is a totally different domain - comapnyname.domain2.com. I cant image that this would matter but I figured I would put it all out there anyway.
I have run this test numerous times:

and my server passes with flying frigging colors, I just have to enable the ignore trusts option as our cert is signed by an internal CA (like I said, budget).
So, WM devices, entorage, and outlook with rpc over https all work flawlessly. But this FRIGGING iphone wont. I get through the exchange configuration just fine using various settings. I have tried it with and without the domain option, and I have tried entering the username with and without the DOMAIN\username.
Every possible combination goes through fine, in the setup. Then I end up with the same result. After the setup finishes, I go to the inbox for the exchange account and it says up-to-date with no items. no contacts or calendar items download either. After a while, if i go back into the same inbox I get the "Cannot get mail" error.
I have been googling this for days and I have yet to find a solution. Not to mention I, myself, am an MCSE w/ messaging and I have yet to come up with a solution on my own. My server works fine, nothing wrong there - it works with every device but this iphone. The only solution I have seen so far is to pay 175 bucks to one of these iphone messaging specialists to have them fix it, which isnt happening. Any advice you guys may have would be great... thanks.

I have used my iPhone with 2003 SP2 and self signed certs. I am trying to understand more about your domain names - you say you don't own your domain, but then you say you are using Dyndns.
I want to assume that you do own the domain name, just not a static IP to go with it. If the IP changes frequently, push will not work very well.
If you are using a self-signed cert then you MUST import the root cert that did the signing. This a the public part - not the private key. If OWA and Exchange are different domains then they have different root certs.
If you can hit the Exchange server domain via IE, you can view certs, then save the root. Then email the root to the phone (using gmail or some pop3 account) and import it. That will fix any cert issues.
I mention this, as you don't mention anywhere that you have imported the signing certs root.

Restoring from Lacie backup

BACKGROUND: I'm having some issues with my G5 and I'm going to be taking it in for service. Due to the nature of the service it will probably be in the shop for a bit so I want to move all my data to a MAC Mini that I just picked up.
I'm mainly concerned about moving all my Entorage data, Quicken Data, iTunes, and document files.

The MAC Mini has a fresh install of Tiger which is also running on my G5. From some other posts I've read it seemed like I could just copy my /home directory over to the new MAC Mini and that will do the trick.
Is that correct?

Thanks, I wasn't thinking that this would have my apps installed also. I figured I would have to re-install them.
Being a PC Tech, I can take an old HD and copy the whole C:\Documents & Settings directory to the new system and just re-install the apps and it would work. I wanted to see if the same was true to OSX.

Hello all, 2 days ago when downloading an update to the OSX Operating System there was an error in the installation, bundle ended up in trash. Now I get an error message with most of my third party software like MS Word, Entorage, Firefox that there is a "conflict in the shared library". Also, it looks like when I empty trash that update bundle is still there.
I tried repair disk permissions and AppleCare tried a few things but disk could not be repaired so the suggestion was transfer all critical files and erase and re-install OS.
Is this sound advice? Any thoughts?

TechTool Pro 4.5.1 is shipping now from MicroMat which is (I think) up there with Disc Warrior now with a 'few' more features, and regularly updated.
Do you not have a FW backup drive with room on it for an emergency and backup OS on it? That would be first thing I would be doing is backing up and having an emergency boot drive. Needed to find one for family member and it is either FW800 320GB $207 from OWC or slightly smaller.
No matter what, yes, transfer the files. Maybe even boot Tiger DVD, Disk Utility, Restore, and do a volume copy.
Only once have I seen Apple offer a CD with the combo updater ($25) unfortunately it was obsolete the next day due to bugs in USB support in 10.2.4/.5 and, didn't even come with a few other "goodies" like latest QuickTime and other nice or essential software updates.
I tend to run fsck before installs or updates, to run Applejack and clear out swap files and cache folders (which does seem to help, too) and maybe Disc Warrior and/or TTP4. And only then download the combined updates to another drive or partition. Not easy when it weighs in at 140MB, but delta updates seem more like "hit or miss."
I assume you can use FireWire Target Disk Mode or something.

Outlook 2011 for mac iCloud issues

I have been using entorage and outlook for years now that i upgraded to Icloud no email or configuration will work.
I dont care for the mail app i have all my mail in outlook. tried all posted settings still does not work.
I wish i could roll back to me.com anyone able to get settings to work in outlook 2011.

I setup Outlook 2011 for Mac using the following, and had no problems at all sending or receiving email. See below:
