Entourage and iSync with BlackBerry 8800

I've been starting to use Entourage a ton and I've found it to be really useful. However, I use Missing Sync to connect to my Blackberry (8800). When I go to pref's in Entourage I click all the boxes to sync with .mac but I'm not sure it's done so because there is no affirmation when I click ok. Can I sync directly to Entourage, or can I make all the "plugin names" on Missing Sync (like calender, contacts, music, notes, etc) that link directly to Entourage.

Thanks, but I've used marks/space for notes and I sync it with Missing Sync.... but the notes that transfer always get cut off. Sometimes I transfer articles or papers, etc, that are pretty lengthy. And it seems to me that they all get cut off at around 1,500 words.

  • Synchronizing Outlook Calendar and Contacts with Blackberry Q10

I got a new Blackberry Q10 device and wanted to synchronize it with my Outlook calendar and contacts on my notebook. I installed Blackberry Link on the notebook. But in a pop down menu I was only allowed to choose from 2 pst-files which are not the correct ones. The one I want to choose is in another folder. But how can I select this one to synchronize with?
Thanks for your help. And sorry for the silly question, but I am only a very normal user without any specific know how.
    Kind regards

    Hey MalikaBauer,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
Is the Microsoft Outlook profile that you're currently trying to access on an Microsoft Exchange server or is hosted at a different location?  If so, you will not be able to access that PST with BlackBerry Link.
BlackBerry Link currently only supports local PST files.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • Entourage and iSync

I have three computers set up for syncing my calendars and Entourage. It keeps copying old Entourage tasks over and over and over.. Ones that I have already complete.. they don't go away, it just keeps making more. Anyway to stop this? Do I have a setting wrong?

If you're syncing Macs with each other you're not using iSync, you're using *.Mac Sync*.
The forum for *.Mac Sync* is here: http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=957
I'd suggest posting there, although without mentioning what settings you are using, it will be a little difficult to say if they're wrong.

  • Entourage and iSync warning keeps appearing

I have tried to set up my PowerBook to sync contacts between:
    1/ Apple Address Book
    2/ Entourage
    3/ Nokia phone (through iSync)
I have setup .Mac sync in System Preferences, and turned on contacts sync in Entourage. I have also added the phone to iSync.
However I keep receiving a dialogue box saying that Entourage wants to sync contacts. In this window I can choose to erase Entourage contacts (check box) and then click "allow".
But this warning keeps appearing at each sync, no matter how many times I click on the "allow" button. Any idea how I can click "allow" once and then sync normally after.
    Any help would be great.

    PowerBook G4 1.5 ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   Office 11.2.3, iSync 2.2

This is likely triggered by Entourage, but you may be able to correct by resetting the truth database used by the Sync Services framework. Before you do, back up your data in iCal, the Address Book if you are using it, and Entourage. While resetting the truth should not affect your data at all, the presence of Entourage is a wild card.
To reset it, launch iSync and open the Preferences… dialog. Choose Reset Sync History… and follow the instructions which appear, then synchronize once again as you normally would.

  • 10.5.4 and bluetooth with Blackberry 8330

since performing the combo upgrade to 10.5.4 most bluetooth functions are gone with my blackberry 8330. Prior to the upgrade, I was able to transfer files. Does anyone happen to know what was changed or how to fix it?

    Update:
on a couple of occasions, I have been able to get file transfer functionality back for a short time by configuring my phone through the bluetooth preferences. However, this has only worked on occasion and cannot be consistently replicated.

  • ICal and iSync with Treo 650 and bluetoothing

    Hello,
I have a Palm Treo 650 with Sprint provider and I am trying to sync it with my iCal and Address Book on my MacBook Pro. I have synced the Treo with the laptop using the Cradle Cable once. When I did this, all the events from the Treo transfered straight over the Mac Pro but were deleted off the phone.
    1) How do I sync the two to have identical events, etc.?
I have heard that my iCal can also be synced using bluetooth. I've been reading on here trying to figure it out but nothing has been able to help me yet.
    2) How do I sync using the bluetooth capabilities?
I just signed up for a .Mac trial account to see if I had to be a member for the iCal to sync thru bluetooth but I haven't been able to figure it out. I have the Palm OS conduit installed. But I just need help answering these 2 questions if possible.
    Much appreciated!
"locmi01" I have read a few of your posts but nothing that I found could answer my questions.

I cannot explain why the events transfered from your Treo through the Sync Services framework where thereafter deleted if you were using iSync and the iSync Palm Conduit. That should not have happened.
In order understand synchronization under Mac OS X 10.4 and later, you should read this document:
    http://developer.apple.com/macosx/syncservices.html
To restore the data to your Treo, you should first make sure it is present in both iCal and the Address Book, back up both datasets using the option to do so under the File menu of each application, then…
    • launch iSync
    • open the Preferences… dialog
    • press the Reset Sync History… button and follow the directions which appear
You should opt to replace the information on your Treo when presented with the option to either merge or replace records.
With regard to Bluetooth synchronization, you must first get USB synchronization working properly. Only then should you pair your device initiating the process from your Treo and confirming it from your MacBook, then electing to initiate a HotSync Bluetooth sync session from your device.
Keep in mind that USB is a faster and wider path, and will result in faster, if not necessarily as convenient, synchronization.

  • Connecting wirelessly at Starbucks and syncing with Blackberry.............

I’m being told that in order to connect wirelessly at Starbucks or other locations she needs a “wireless card” for her Macbook which requires a monthly subscription? Does anybody know what this means? If so, where might we find this “card” and how much?
Also, are Blackberries compatible with Macs, i.e., synching email and contacts, etc.?
    MacBook 10.4.11
Thanking all in advance for your haste in response
    HmL

The "wireless card" that you are speaking of is more commonly called an Air Card and it's a device that you can purchase with a subscription from Sprint, Verizon, etc... They are available in USB format so you could have one that works with your MacBook and it provides internet service in the carriers service area. You can get info at Sprint, Verizon, etc websites.
Starbucks also has wireless T-Mobile (for now*) which requires a T-Mobile subscription.
Either way, Starbucks does not provide free wi-fi.
*Soon, Starbucks is switching to AT&T and will provide limited time (2 hrs/day) free wi-fi to registered Starbucks Card holders.

  • Entourage, gmail, calander and syncing with a blackberry

HI all, i have a few questions here, that maybe someone could answer most of them, the blackberry one maybe not.
I use entourage on my imac to get my email from my pop server. i have recently migrated from a regular pop server to gmail, which has imap capabilities. I have managed to get entourage to sync up with my gmail account, and finally gotten my blackberry to also get gmail emails.
question 1) i have a list of folders in my inbox from my pop server previously, but with the new gmail account, my rules and subfolders are obsolete. How can i upload the emails and folders to the gmail server so that they are the same online now?
question 2) I use entourage quite extensively now for my calander and contacts information, and i have the blackberry desktop manager to sync things up. the problem is that it seems like although it says that the blackberry can sync with entourage, it syncs through the 'address book' and the 'calander' of the mac itself. reason being, i can input data onto the calander on entourage and on ical, and it will sync to the blackberry, but i can't go from blackberry to ical to entourage. is there a way to cut out the middle man and have the blackberry and entourage sync 'directly' rather than indirectly?
    any help would be great

  • Entourage 2008 and iSync

Hey everyone, I was using the new Entourage 2008 and loved it, until I realized it was going to take A LOT of work to get it to sync with my Palm Centro. I ended up switching back to Entourage 2004 which is really starting to tick me off. Here's what I would like to be able to do, and you all may be able to tell me if this is indeed feasible or not.
    1. I would like to be able to sync my Centro (contacts, calendar, to-dos, notes, etc.) with Entourage, consequently I would like to be able to go both ways. So say I create an event in Entourage and then change the time of the event on the Centro, I would like that to be reflected on both the computer and Centro.
    2. I would like to be able to sync my contacts and calendar on MobileMe (I'm not sure how that system works, but for now I would just like to be able to view my calendar online).
    3. Eventually I'd like to sync the whole deal with like Google Calendars and stuff.
Entourage 2004 was SO easy to sync my Centro. I tried to sync with 2008 and it just made a bunch of duplicates and caused me a headache. After realizing that Microsoft wasn't going to be able to help me, I switched back to 2004. What a bummer, because the new 2008 is AWESOME!
Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. I've been looking online and on forums for weeks now and haven't really found a solid answer.

Wow, really? Why would Apple do that?
Because iSync's Palm support was severely out of date, didn't work very well, and, I guess it wouldn't be worth Apple's time and money to devote development resources to it further.
What exactly does the Missing Sync program do for me?
It'll basically sync everything between your Mac and Palm - contacts, calendars, notes, tasks, memos, install Palm OS applications and conduits, sync music, photos and videos. Far more than iSync ever did.
    Read more here: http://www.markspace.com/products/palm/palm-sync-software.html
Is there a better PDA to use with Mac OS X then?
iPhone is the best since Apple makes everything from the phone to the OS. It just works.
Are any of those going to work better than the Palm OS?
I don't know whether any of them will work better, but they all need third-party software from MarkSpace to sync with a Mac. None sync out-of-the-box.

  • USB and Blackberry 8800

I am trying to connect my Blackberry 8800 to my Dual 2 GHz G5 and the computer is not acknowledging the device. I can attach the Blackberry to a G4 laopto and things work great. Seems to be a USB issue. Any Suggestions.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
In your post I did not see if you had checked in the hardware device manager to see if you
had any driver conflicts. Should be listed with a yellow caution flag. (example below.)
You have run through the USB troubleshooting procedure, I would look the first procedure listed below.
It address's conflicts in com ports etc. The procedure is for the smartphone not being detected, but
it will give you additional information on potential device and driver conflicts.
The second link listed addresses the proper registration of the com serial and USB drivers. Again
The procedure is for a different error, but you are having a driver conflict and it is pertinent.
    Thanks,

  • Sync BlackBerry 8800 with MacBook

I'm using MacBook running 10.4.9. Also, I'm using BlackBerry 8800.
Now, I have tried both PocketMac & Missing Sync for BlackBerry, but both didn't work. I managed to sync with iCal, but not Address Book. Can anyone help me?
I want to know if the USB cable matters? 'Cos I left the original BlackBerry USB cable at office for synchronizing with my desktop PC. So I use the USB cable for my Motorola mobile phone, which is also USB to mini-USB. Could this be the cause for not being able to sync? But if that is the case, why I can sync iCal? So, I suppose this was not the cause.
Now, if that's not the cause, can anyone please help? Greatly appreciate.
    Thanks and regards,
    Gary

I believe that it's actually more accurate to say that the 'decision' was one by RIM rather than Mark/Space. Here's what the developer of the Missing Sync for Blackberry has to say about using BES wireless synchronization:
"…you can sync the BlackBerry to the BES, but in order to sync the BlackBerry to the Mac using Missing Sync you will need to turn off the BES sync and then sync, when you are done syncing with your Mac you can turn the BES sync back on on the device.
Steps for turning off BES wireless sync:
    1. Launch Address Book on the BlackBerry.
    2. Access the Menu (press wheel or menu button depending on device).
    3. Choose Options.
    4. If BES is enabled, there will be a Wireless Synchronization menu item.
    5. Make sure the Wireless Synchronization option is set to NO.
    6. Repeat for each of the following that have Wireless Sync enabled: Calendar, Tasks, and MemoPad.
For the sync with Missing Sync to work the wireless sync must be turned off at the application level.
Please note, if you are trying to sync to both the Mac and the BES then you need to click on the 'Preference' option in Missing Sync and check the option: 'Allow syncing to multiple computers'. If you do not check that option then you will not be able to keep everything in sync when changes are made on the device and then synced to the BES before syncing to the Mac."

  • Blackberry 8800 with telering provider

Hi, I live in Austria, Europe. I have a Blackberry 8800 and recently had to change the provider (previously A1 Vodafone).
I now have a SIM card from "telering" (part of the T-Mobile group, Austria) with a contract called "Grosser Basta", which includes 2GB data volume.
However, I have no idea how to activate GPRS or EDGE to get data transfer. The phone shows GSM only, I can phone and send (and receive) text messages, but I have NO e-mail or Internet access. Telering is not very helpful, I'm afraid.
If anyone can help I'd be very grateful, thanks in advance.
    Greetings from Austria, Peter Pischler.

Hello Peter_987 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
It sounds like your PIN has not been provisioned for data with the new mobile network carrier.
If you go to Options>Advanced Options>Host Routing Table, do you have any entries listed? If not, if you do Menu>Register now, do you get the registration message?
If you answer No to either of these questions then you will need to contact the current mobile carrier and ensure your data services are provisioned.
    Hope this helps!

  • N73 or Blackberry 8800 and Ford Bluetooth & Voice ...

    I have an N73 and a Blackberry 8800.
I can pair the Blackberry up ok with my Ford Mondeo intergrated bluetooth and voice activation system and it works fine other than not being able to transfer my phone book to allow voice dialling by name. Can this be done?
I also have the Nokia N73.
Again, this pairs OK but not properly as I am told it sounds like I am in a wind tunnell when using it. Also none of the contacts show when I scan through the phone options using the car controls.
I have downloaded the sis file on the Nokia site but it is not compatible with the N73. Can you please suggest a way round this to make it work.
    Many thanks.
    John

    Hello ajalro,
yes I solved my problem...the phonebook is not visible how manual ford says but (for N73 of course) you have to enter in phone mode (press phone button on the radio console) and scroll the phone menu by pressing right position on the circular button fitted on radio console until you will see "phonebook" tag, so you have only scroll phonebook list by up,down positions on the same circular button.
SO FOR N73 IT'S NOT NECESSARY ANY .SIS FILE!
    I hope helping you.
    bye
