Entourage Data Base Back up

I have been backing up all of my data to a firewire hard drive. I had an entourage identity crash last night. I tried rebuilds but nothing worked. I went into the back up hard drive to install the back up data base and found that the original data base along with the rebuilds were on the back up. I had done nothing to cause this on the back up. Any ideas how this happened and how to prevent from happening in the future? Also, any ideas on how to recover the original Entourage database? Thanks much!

They must have been on your hard drive when you created the backup. The Database Utility will automatically create a backup before it performs any of its tasks. Check the date(s) on the other folders, they're probably older than you think.
Also, any ideas on how to recover the original Entourage database?
Do you mean the one on the backup drive? If so, close Entourage if it's running. Go to your user account and navigate to the ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 Identities/ folder. Put the folder named "Main Identity" currently there somewhere else. Dragging it to the desktop is a good place for the moment. Copy the "Main Identity" folder on your backup drive to the same location the one you moved to the desktop was in. Launch Entourage. If everything is working okay, then you can dump the one on the desktop. Unless there's mail you still need to try and salvage out of that one.

If you have exported complete data ( in unformatted manner), then you can directly load the exported data file into the cube without any business rule( free form loading).
If you export it in columnar format , you might need to have rule file.

Entourage error message 4362 - damaged data base - cannot back up , compact

I've been using 10.5.8 on my G5 for 2 yrs NO problems - THEN - error message 4362 starts to appear as Entourage (2004 Office) gets close to 1.5G bytes. Disk utility can run and verify YES there is a damage in data base.
BUT the rebuild option will NOT last more than 30secs before I/O error.
I have tried to open Entourage with option key down and I have thrown out any email older than 1yr.
Next move is to re-install Entourage - and import folders - unless some one has a better idea/solution. Please -- Ray

Can any one help me to configure the mysql table to enable user expiration to function, I have tryed most things, but not dates are being passed back to the data base from the form

Im trying to build user expiration into my registration form, but I cant get the form to send back the date registering.
in my data base i have tried every thing from timestamp to datetime. I can get a timestamp but it is not functioning with the expiration?

just have a look at my tutorial Login tables: installation & configuration where the required column attributes are explained and where you can obtain a fully functional SQL dump for a typical ADDT "login" and (optionally) "login_stats" table.
BTW, "expiration" will have to be an "int" column.

Data base in microsoft office is damaged andI can't rebuild it. suggestions?

The data base for Microsoft Office 2008 has been damaged. I've tried twice to rebuild the data base, but it stalls after 2 hours and I'm forced to cancel. Very frustrating. The Office tools is a nice tool, but it's not working. I can use Word, Excel and PP but Entourage will not open at all. I've removed office and reinstalled and downloaded all of the updates. I still get the same message. If I have to start over, so be it, but I'm not sure how to completely remove Office. I removed it using Microsoft tools. (Positive reinforcement that I will always use Macs!) Any suggestions will be most appreciated.

use time machine (if you have it on before all the errors in office) to restore the working files. if not you can use cleanmymac to remove all microsoft office program files and then reinstall office. Back up all your data before useing cleanmymac. it is a good app but it can clean too much some times if you do use clean my mac, open clean my mac click applications tab drag office apps from finder>applications not the dock and microsoft update as well. then click remove. it will remove all files that go with office (It wont remove Your document files) her is a link to a free trial of clean my mac http://macpaw.com/cleanmymac

Importing music, artwork and data base from external hard drive

I purchased a MacBook to use primarily as a music server. I have an external hard drive with over 300GB of music files ripped from CDs in Apple Lossless with a computer using Windows XP. I also have another external hard drive formatted for the Mac. My goal is to attach both drives to the MacBook via USB and transfer the music files, album art, and iTunes data base from the Windows system hard drive to the new Mac formatted hard drive. Then I am going to reformat the Windows system hard drive to the Mac format and use it as a back up for the other hard drive. Has anyone ever done something similar? If so, I would appreciate some guidance. If possible, I want to do the above so that the file names and artwork from the Windows itunes system do not get changed or left out when making the transfer to the Mac system. All music files will still be in ALAC. Thanks to all for your help.

My apple TV ID is not recognised in Apples Data Base

I recently changed my Itunes account ID to a generic Gmail account in case I changed my internet provider in the future, after a few days I changed my apple TV ID to match it. Now it says "does not recognise this ID in its Data base". I have checked back and my apple ID is still the new one and apple have responded to that ID via Itunes downloads. The internet is working so is this a gmail address problem or an apple tv problem.

we have problem in Production when sale order created
P O date is update with dots and these dots we are unable to see at screen and data base table
we go t change mode of the order and delete the P O field with back space (button) and saving the order
when we see the change log of the order
there it is sowing

Can any one give the suggetions to come out of this problem

Two things could have happened:
1) Since this is happening with only two customers - I am sure it has got to do with some custom code on your system which is causing this problem. I 'd suggest you to create a new order with all the fields
2) It could be a bug with SAP- might want to check relevant SAP Notes. ( But this could not be a reason, if yes should have had the same prob with all cusotmers)

Data base fields in browse mode

Appleworks v 6.2.9
Have data base with 54 fields. List mode fine, but in browse mode
only first 34 are viewable and therefore available for data entry.
When tab key is punched after data entered in 34th field cursor goes
back to 1st field rather than 35th field. Command and down arrow keys
brings up next record. Is there a keyboard shortcut or any other way
to enter data in fields 34-54 in browse mode? Using list mode for
that is too confusing because 1st field identifies record name and
once past 34th field it is no longer viewable.

I'm assuming the Layout you are referring to is the default "Layout 1" that AppleWorks creates as you define the fields. This layout, or a "Standard" layout created through the New layout menu item in the Layout menu is a simple list of fields (with labels containing the field name) one above the other in a single column.
AppleWorks Database Layouts are restricted to a single page in the page size defined in Page Setup (File menu). With the default US Letter size page, at around 34 fields, the list runs into the bottom of the page, and no fields created after that are automatically inserted into the layout.
You can place more than 34 fields on a page, but you must contribute to the process.
With Layout 1 (or any other layout you wish to modify) showing, go Layout > Layout to put the document into Layout mode. (You can also do this by pressing shift-command-L.)
In Layout mode, select one or more of the fields (and labels) at the bottom of the page and drag them up and to the right into some empty space on the layout. New fields inserted onto the layout will be inserted in the space between the bottom-most field and the bottom of the layout/page, so the object of this exercise is to open up enough space at the bottom of your layout to insert the remaining 20 fields. It may take more tthan a single step to do this.
When you have all 54 fields on the page, rearrange them in the order and in the locations you want.
Note that the default tab order for a latout is from left to right then top to bottom, starting at the top left. If this order is not suitable, you can override it using the Tab Order... menu item in the Layout menu.

I am not sure what your question is. The code you pasted looks like the MatrixAndDataSources example that comes with the SDK. What are you trying to do?

User Preset Data Base for Logic Pro's instruments - Synths, etc

I realize Logic Pro 9 comes with more instrument presets than any one person can audition in a single day, or a week or month for that matter. But I am looking for the data base where other users have shared their own settings. Line 6 has one for Pod Farm and despite their 1000 presets, I found what other users did to be super amazing. Back to Logic Pro, I searched last year for a Theremin sample and someone created it in one of Logic's synths and posted it.
I can't imagine I'm the first person to ask this questions. I must not be searching correctly. Please help.

Problem in Data Base View

I have created a data base View .which is based on two table. my Problem is the Selection Condition Tab I have to define two condition like below.

My problem is that first condition running properly but when I am adding secound condition logic is not working . I have try with other option like

Report generation from BI with HUGE data base.

Can anyone gimme solution for problem given below ?
I am trying to generate Customer / Vendor related report from BI. Data base is too too big. Whenever i try to generate report, system gets hanged and report does not get generated.

Not enough info...
What verison of Crystal Reports are you using?
Are you sure it's hanging and you simply have to wait for the report to generate? If there are millions of records being returned and client side or second pass filtering/formatting it can take time to render that report.
Are there any errors being reported? CR will apeear to be hung, it's simply waiting for the database to start streaming the data back and appears to be not responding.
If you add record selection filtering does that retunr data?
WHY are you returning that much data? It can't possibly be of any use to anyone. Do not use CR as a database archiving tool.

Restrict User to access/fetch data in back date

Hi All,
As financial year is about to close, one of my clients has requirement that for all t-codes, user must be having restriction to access or fetch the data in back date or till 31st March, he won't be able to access it. So my ques is can we do it at authorization level or from basis end.?
If no, then how it would be possible?
But they want only 3 users out of all should have access.

Hi ,
As per standard behaviour of the system you wount be able to achieve what you are looking for .
As the system does not allow user to be restricted based on period for reports .
You can check for either BADI or exits / Enhancement points for restricting but that too based on which t codes you want to restrict . It would be T code based like you identify the T codes and accordingly make the enhancements .
