Entourage (read before flaming, please!)
I realize that Entourage is not an Apple product, however, I just upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.6 and Entourage 2004 stopped working. When you send or receive email you get a -3176 error message which should mean that some of your settings are incorrect. The settings have not changed and it worked before I upgraded under 10.3.9. So... is this an Apple problem or a Microsoft problem? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks for sharing the workaround of using the numerical IP in place of the server name. That shouldn't be necessaey, through. I needed no such change on my office Mac with OS X 10.4.6 and Entourage 2004. Do you have the latest version (11.2.3) of Entourage for Office 2004? If not, head over to Mactopia and grab the updates for Office 2004 there.

Unable to open "Read Before Download" iTunes document
I am trying to download the newest version of iTunes, but when I click the "Read before downloading itunes" document, nothing happens. There is no icon in the window, nothing opens, and I am still unable to proceed to the next step. Please help!
Your best bet at getting help with this usage problem is probably going to be realized through posting in whichever prosduct forum this relates to. That would be the password for your FTP server. You can only get this from your web hosting company. You should contact your web hosting company and ask them for your FTP Publishing details.
Then select your web site name at the top of the list of web pages in iWeb. You'll see input fieldd for your FTP details. Enter what you get from your web hosting provider in those fields. -
HT2311 read before you install itunes 11.0.1 will not open, why?
trying to connect apple imac to apple tv...had to updated itunes to 11.0.1 to access itunes library on tv...downloaded new itunes from apple website...asks to open 'read before install itunes' button....but it won't...please help!
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

1. you may have to take it in to Apple and get an out of warranty iphone for $199.
2. you can get your information from a backup of your phone. you do have a backup of your phone right either in iTunes or icloud. If you don't then your answer will be no. -
When I updated the new version IOS5 and used icloud, some of the apps are missing, how can i find those apps (but i was not using my account to download some apps before). Please advise.
They are free to iOS 7 users who have activated their NEW device on Sept 1 2013 or after. They are NOT automatically free with iOS 7.
AirDrop is only compatible with iPad 4th gen and iPad mini. iPad 3rd gen and below do contain the necessary hardware for AirDrop. Also, AirDrop is only compatible between iOS devices. You cannot AirDrop between iOS device and Mac OS. -

Use a different device.
Adobe did not develop Flash for iOS devices and has ended all Flash development for all mobile devices.
You could try a different browser from the App store such as Skyfire or iSwifter. -
When I start the program I instantly see this message: "Adobe Bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache, please try purging the central cache in cache preferences to correct the situation". I have tried this and it only results in a stalled/locked program. I have tried restarting my machine multiple times and tried reconfiguring how the cache is managed. Do you have anyone who could walk me through each step to correct this problem which just started two days ago. I have owned this program for at least a year now...

Anyone besides me get an annoying popup that cannot be deleted/closed reading:
FaceTime Password
Please enter your password for "my e-mail account name"
It happened to me today for the first time since upgrading to Mavericks 10.9.3, no "stop lights" in the title bar of the popup, in fact nothing at all.
I've never established a FaceTime account. So I tried to delete FaceTime from the Applications folder on the "system" disk thinking this may eliminate the popup. Mavericks informed me "Cannot delete FaceTime as it is used by the operating system.
Is this a MAC virus? Or is this an example user community alpha/beta testing that Apple just announced?

It's not clear to me what it is. If it occurs again, please take a screenshot of the popup and post it in a reply.
To take a screenshot hold ⌘ Shift 4 to create a selection crosshair. Click and hold while you drag the crosshair over the area you wish to capture and then release the mouse button. You will hear a "camera shutter" sound. This will deposit a screenshot on your Desktop.
If you can't find it on your Desktop look in your Documents or Downloads folder.
When you post your response, click the "camera" icon above the text field:
This will display a dialog box which enables you to choose the screenshot file (remember it's on your Desktop) and click the Insert Image button.
The screenshot attachment option for this support site appears only on computers - not on iPads.
⌘ Shift 4 and then pressing the space bar captures the frontmost window.
⌘ Shift 3 captures the entire screen.
Drag the screenshot to the Trash after you post your reply. -
It won't let me drag an effect from the browser all of a sudden. I have always been able to do before. I am using effects from favorites bin and when I try to drag it to the timeline, it won't move. I have never had this problem before. Please help.
P.S. I have tried other effects including transitions and it still won't let me drag.Wow that was really quick, thank you so much. Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it. I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names. isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)
either way, ill do what you suggested to the best of my abilities and thank you so much for answering my questions, i can't even open the program as its incompatible and find out the info from that) so I'm in a bit of a pickle and your response was so thorough and it didn't seem to be posted long enough to even write a well researched response, thanks, all the best,

Downloaded "Rush" yesterday on my iPad2 - sat down to watch it today. 1.23 seconds in, I get error message "cannot load video" Most annoying! Not happened before. Please ether fix or give me my money back asap
JodyWe are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
What have you tried to fix it ? Have you tried closing the Videos app via the iPad's multitasking bar and seeing if it plays properly when you re-open then app ? Have you tried a soft-reset of your iPad ? If neither of those fix it then are you in a country where films can be redownloaded (assuming that it's not a rental) ? If you are then delete it from the Videos app and redownload it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app.
If you can't redownload it (e.g. if it's a rental) then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
