Entourage - relay not permitted?

im at a friends house with my macbook - ive hooked into their wireless connection, got online fine and also checked my email with no problem... its only when ive tried to reply to one of the emails that there has been a problem.. it wont send!
i just the following error message:
"error - relay not permitted
explanation - cannot send mail. the smtp sever does not recognize any of the authentication methods supported by entourage. try changing the smtp authentication options in account settings or contact your network administrator.
error - 17092"
anyone know why its not letting me send?
thanks.

As Dave noted, your ISP only lets you send email through its network when you are connected to its network. Your problem was caused by the fact that you were connected through a different ISP therefore you were unknowingly attempting to relay your email through your friend's ISP to your own. This used to be a favorite tactic of SPAMmers so most mail servers now prohibit it.
If it turns out that you frequently need to send email when you aren't connected to the internet via your own ISP, getting a Google email account would solve your problem. You can pretty much use GMail's mailserver anywhere.

  • Post 03- 10 Migration multiple Relay not Permitted errors from recipient

Hello all - I recently just started a new job in an organization that just recently upgraded from an Exchange 2003 environment, to Exchange 2010.  Just within the past week, we finally took down our last 2003 system.  Since then, we have received
a good number of bounce back messages from recipient servers with various specific error messages, but with a common theme "smtp relay not permitted".  What's strange is at my last employer, we migrated from 2003 to 2007 and I recall having a similar
situation, but I can't for the life of me recall what the solution was.
So far, through a few hours of Google searching, all I have found are sources suggesting that this issue is a recipient server config problem, but I have a very hard time believing that it isn't a problem on my end, with this many of essentially the same
errors popping up.  Also - I have noticed that if a user attempts to re-send an email to the recipient that previously bounced back, it will work.
I'm not sure what sort of config info from my server / local network I should share here, but i'll gladly share whatever may be necessary.
Here are a few of the bounce message that we have received (names/email addresses removed)

I get this error whenever I try to respond to an email from an employee using our company email.  I don't get the message when responding using other email programs, just when responding using email addresses with same url.
    How do I fix this?

    Hi Sidney

Incoming mail is fine, but outgoing mail has suddenly stopped working always getting the same error: "adobe bc email, the server response was: <END OF MESSAGE>: End-of-data rejected: user not permitted to relay"
Can you advise or correct for me please?

    Hi,
We have setup the Java Messaging Server to send/recieve mails from a gateway. The inbound mail flow works perfectly but, the outbound mail flow has issues.

=========================================================================Do we have to make any changes on other config files except the imta.cnf and mappings file for inbound and outbound..
    thanks for any help
    Edited by: prasad0_0 on Jul 8, 2008 4:58 AM

i have already setup the messaging server 6 months back.. followed the same procedure to route mails to a gateway..
made changes to the imta.cnf for outbound mail flow to the tcp_local and mappings file to accept inbound mail flow from the gateway. Its working perfectly on the older setup, but this now, have issues with new setup.
    here is the imta.cnf file..

  • Treo Pro Error Message 530 5.7.1 Relaying not allowed cannot send Email from pop acct

I just purchased the treo pro thru Sprint. I love the phone I just cant seem to figure out the proper settings for my outgoing POP Email acct. Every time I set up the settings properly and attempt to send an email I get an error message "530 5.7.1 Relaying not allowed". I get this message with the outgoing server set to smtp.sprintpcs.com and i receive this error message through an "undeliverable" Email in the same account I am attempting to send from. When I have the account set to my ISP's outgoing server mail.optonline.net it will only send email if I have my device set to WIFI mode..... Any ideas? Thanks.

P.s. I read in another posting where it advises to change the outgoing port # from 25 to 587. This sounds very familiar to me because when I recently set up my blackberry I believe cablevision advised me to do that exact modification. Now here is the million dollar question. How do you change the port #'s on the treo pro?
Try adding it to the server name, e.g.: smtp.provider.com:587

  • [webgl] sluggish performance ( /dev/nvidia0 Operation not permitted )

We (folks on #archlinux already tried helping) have been at this for hours now... no solution found yet.
summary: webgl works but performance is sluggish(20 to 30fps) which makes me assume it's falling back to software rendering for some unknown reason
already tried many things: vmalloc kernel parameters, irq control left to bios/archlinux, being in the video group, not being in the video group, having an xorg.conf, not having an xorg.conf, different AGP aperture sizes in BIOS, regular gl performance is normal (60 fps (capped to display refresh) in glxgears), only webgl slugs, card (GT 7600 256MB VRAM) should support the required shader language version for webgl (and webgl performance is only sluggish in linux... so I think it must be a configuration issue on some driver/kernel/browser setting?)
Different browsers show different messages when started from the console but I don't know what to make of those and googling them did not reveal any solutions so far either.
browsers tested: firefox, google-chrome(from AUR), chromium
    window managers tested: enlightenment, fluxbox
    kernel: linux-lts
driver: nvidia-304xx-lts (can not use Nouveau as Nouveau keeps locking up the GPU)
It's a fresh archlinux installation (Ubuntu had the same performance problem btw in case that might be useful to know for looking for the cause).
Everything I tried so far, did not change anything about the sluggish webgl performance problem.
One thing I noticed is that /dev/nvidia0 and /dev/nvidiactl both do not exist until after "startx". Could that be a problem?
Here are some logs, hoping someone sees something which looks suspicious and knows what else I could try to make it work.

  • Posting to G/L accounts with open item management not permitted Fagl_post

    Dear Expert,
When i run the foreign cur rev. through FAGL_FC_VAL then system is not post the currency rev on open item on GL account.  It showing subject message and also show below mesaage:-
    Message no. FAGL_POST_SERVICE012
    Diagnosis
You use GL account 210012 in company code 1000 with open item management. However, posting  are not permitted G/L accounts in individual ledger with open item management.
    Please advice on this issue.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pankaj

    Hello Pankaj,
Is your adjustment account was defiined as OI management. if yes, then t is generally not permitted to use the O/I managed account as an djustment account. The adjustment account is the same as O/I
managed GL account, so the error message FAGL_POST_SERVICE012 is issued. This is justified because open items must be made valid for ALL ledgers in the client but FAGL_FC_TRANS posts ledger specific posting by having ledger group in the document header - Ledger Grp 0L.
The best solution is to assign non-O/I managed account as an adjustment account, and this is the 'standard' solution. Please also check note 884639.
    Best Regards,

  • Error : Reading from Aggregation Level not permitted

    Hello Gurus,
Could somebody please give some help or advice regarding this?
I have a multiprovider on a regular cube and an aggregation level, for some reason the multicube gives me the following error message when I try to display data using listcube.
Reading from Aggregation Level is not permitted
    Message no. RSPLS801
Also the  Query on the multicube does not display data for any of the KF's in the Agg Level but when I create a query on the Agg level itself it is fine.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
transaction LISTCUBE does not support all InfoProviders, e.g. aggregation level are not supported. LISTCUBE is a 'low level' to read data from the BW persistence layer, e.g. InfoCubes. Since aggregation level always read transaction data via the so called planning buffer and the planning buffer technically is a special OLAP query LISTCUBE does not support aggregation level.

    HI All,
Me activiated New GL. and when I am trying to post the
document, I am getting the below error.
The GL used 200100 is Cash A/c (40)
Cr Eq Share Capital A/c (50)
As Cash A/c requires Clearing, I have activated "Open Item Management".
Can you advice me why Its giving me the below mentioned error.
    Thanks
Postings to G/L accounts with open item management are not permitted
    Message no. FAGL_POST_SERVICE012
    Diagnosis
You use G/L account 200100 in company code RLIF with open item
management. However, postings are not permitted to G/L accounts in
individual ledgers with open item management.
    Procedure
If you have not yet made any postings to this account and if the
account is to be used for closing processes in non-leading ledgers,
deactivate the Open Item Management indicator in the company code data
    for the G/L account.
    Thanks,

  • Can't use Calendar: Access to account "iCloud" is not permitted.

I recently have been experiencing this error:
The server responded with an error.
Access to account “iCloud” is not permitted.
    The server responded:
    “403”
    to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.
It occurs repeatedly every two seconds and I can't get the dialog to dismiss or go away. My calendars work on fine on my iPhone 6 and iPad mini but on the mac, it gives this error. I tried creating a new user account on the mac, starting fresh but as soon as I log into iCloud and then open calendar, the dialog is back. I suspect there is something wrong on the server site of things. I had some fradulent charges on my iCloud account that Apple cleared up for me. Then they disabled my account (I guess this is something they do when a dispute occurs) and I've had to contact them twice to get them to clear it up. This error started to appear around the same time. I also tried to update to Yosemite but that didn't fix it either. I've deleted all my calendars and created a new one via iCloud.com. Still there. I've found some others online who have had the same issue without success. Is there any hope to get the calendar working again? Help!?

    Alex,
Quit Calendar, turn off your internet connection, then paste this text ~/Library into the Finder Menu>Go>Go to Folder...window and select "Go." This will open the Users Library Folder.
Open the Calendars Folder which is in that Library Folder, and move any any files with "Cache" listed in the name field to your Desktop.
Next open the Preferences Folder in that same Library Folder and move the com.apple.iCal.plist file to the Desktop.
Log out/in or restart reconnect the internet and open Calendar.

  • Error message in iCal program access to my email is not permitted.

I am having big trouble with iCal lately with multiple events and duplicate calendars proliferating. Someone was nice enough to give me something to put into Applescript to correct the problem. Now a new problem. When I enter an event and use iCal to notify other participants, I get a message that says:
The server responded with an error.
Access to account (my name and address) is not permitted.
    The server responded:
    “HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden”
    to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation

Got to Ical, preferences, accounts. If you have a Mobile Me CalDav account listed, delete it. This is the source of the error message. Deleting this account will not interfere with mobile me syncing. (At least it didn't interfere with mine and the error message is now gone. Good luck.
