Entry in fields to make compulsory /Required Entry for QM tab fields in MMR

Dear Gurus ,
I need to make some fields as Required Entry in Quality Management tab of Material Master record
So that the users compulsorily need to fill data before saving the MMR. The fields which I want to
make compulsory are visible after clicking the "Inspection setup" button in the QM tab , the various
fields are "post to insp. lot", "inspection with task list" etc. like this about 10 fields ,
I went in OMS9 , but could not find the field ref. group for table RMQAM , also could not find these
fields in OMSR.
Please guide how to make these fields compulsory. Thanks in advance.

I don't think this is possible in standard...since all this fields (ticked or un-ticked) flow from the configuration of Inspection types in QM...you have to see there in QM configuration whether anything is possible...

The 'help' manual describes the 'required' function as this: Required Forces the user to fill in the selected form field. If the user attempts to submit the form while a required field is blank, an error message appears and the empty required form field is highlighted.
My users ARE not submitting the form, they open the pdf, fill it out and print it. HOW can I, make a field "required', I don't want them to skip/leave blank specific fields. However, if I choose the box 'required' in the text field properties, and I begin filling out the form, I can just tab past that field that I've choose as 'required', and I do not get
prompt/error message or anything, it allows me to save, or print.
I WANT SOME TYPE OF message (similar to enter a company order form
off the web, where you can't continue without filling out 'required' fields).
Is there a step/option I am not doing?

Then you are going to have to write some JavaScirpt to be executed by the "Will Print" document action to check all the requried fields, either by name or by the 'required' property and handle the issue of the imcomplete fields. You will not be able to stop the print, but you could display and error field so the user knows the form is incomplete and the printed form also conatains this information.

Recipient Type field required entry i vendor master.

Hello,
when I enter withholding tax code in vender master recipient type field should become required entry,
how can I do this?
Some times my users are entering withholding tax code and they forgot to enter " Recipient Type",because of this documents are not comming in J1INCHLN, because in WITH_ITEM table Recipient Type is not updated.
Can some one please advise.

In SPRO in the Vendor Accounts -> Master Records go to Define Screen Layout per Company Code (Vendors) and go to W/holding tax data, w/h tax 2 and then make the required entry to W/holding tax cat., w/h tax 2

"Bill/challan No" field as required entry in MIGO

Hi Experts,
I want to make the Bill / Challan No field in MIGO as required entry and not as Mandatory where in which system has to issue a warning message in case the field has not maintained.
I used the transactions OMJX and OMJN and selected the HiLi field, to issue the warning message for the Bill / Challan No field.
but no warning message is issued at the time of MIGO.
If I select the required entry in the transaction OMJX , against Bill / Challan No, it is working fine...
Can any body tell me do I'm missing any config part for warning message in MIGO, and why it is not working for warning message.

If i am right you want to enter the challan number in migo screen,For this you have to make setting in j1id screen.
You have to mantain j1id for in comming material with subcontract tick mark
In migo screen it will excise tab will come
ther you have to select refer sub contract challan If challan is of same vendor it will attach to the migo document and this excise tab is mandatory.

Choose Basis Components -> Application Personalization -> Tailoring of Application Transactions -> Configure Transaction-Related Display Values for Fields (Transaction SHD0). Transaction variants allow you to preset values for fields in a transaction, set field attributes, or hide entire screens.
To execute a transaction variant, you define a variant transaction using the Transaction Maintenance transaction (SE93).
Once you have entered a transaction code and short description, choose transaction type Transaction with variant (Variant transaction).
To define a variant, enter the name of the transaction and the name of the variant. You can then use the new transaction code to start the special variant of the transaction.

Making Issuing Storage Location" required entry

Hi,
I want to make "Issuing Storage Location" required entry only stock transport order. Our document type is ZUNS. Selection key is UBF.
In SPRO:
Material management --> PO -->Define screen layout at document level
I ve selected "UBF Stock transport order" document type. Selection group is supplying plant. Then I ve marked "Issuing Storage Location" as a required (mandatory) entry indicator.
Then I ve crated a stock transport order but Issuing Storage Location field is not mandatory. Is there another way make it required entry?

I believe you will have to activate the settings for STO between storage location, in the setup stock transport order config, Set Up Stock Transfer Between Storage Locations, do the settings,read the IMG documentation if you need help in setting this up.

Entry doesnot exist in the T005q (check entry)

i configured the country keys and with holding countires also. when ia m entering with holding tax key in does not exist in the too5 q . mean while because of this vendor master data cin details tab is not occured. kindky give how to resolve 2 issues
1) Country Does not exist
2) Cin Details tab not opening

There are 2 things that you are reffering to :
1. Error for country , for that make necessary entries in T code OB99 .
2. For CIN tab in vendor master , execute the T Code , OMT3E and in that go to user screen reference and enter the user to whoome you want to give the authorization for CIN tab . when you enter the relevant user name then that user will be able to view the CIN tab in venfor master .

F4 help for PO number field with SELECT OPTIONS

I have a field (PO no) using SELECT OPTIONS on my selection screen.I need F4 help for this field.How shud i declare it?
I have declared it as follows:
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK b1 WITH FRAME TITLE text-001.
select-options sel_po for ZPO_LOI-zobject_id obligatory .
SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK b1.
ZPO_LOI is a table view with a z data element ZOBJECT_ID to which i have attached a search help which displays the required values for the PO field in the selection screen.But now the problem is i cant see the F4 icon for the field on the sel screen.

Problem with Save functionality for a Screen - Field

Hi Experts,
I have included a custom field with list box option to an infotype. The new filed displays the values based on the values selected in the standard field which has a list box option.
Now if we enter the transaction in change mode and change the standard field value without pressing ENTER and click SAVE button, it gets saved with an improper value in the custom field. The reason being the custom field values with drop down list is retreived only after we press enter (POV is triggered) after selecting a standard field.
Options tried:
I have included an error message (in PAI) to stop the values being saved, but the screen beomes disabled.
I have done my validation only on the custom field as there is no other possibility to validate any other fields on the screen (all are standard). Here the error message pops up and the field is in the enable mode, but it does not retrieve the possible values for the custom field based on my earlier selection for the standard field.( Because as POV does not get triggered in this case)
Ex. Std field value = USA
Custom field = United States of America
I changed the value in Standard field to = UK and click SAVE - It get saved
Now how to stop it from SAVING and let it know that there is an error in the custom field and it needs to select the right value from the list ie - United Kingdom.

Perhaps a solution is to save the code value, not the text for the code, and only display the text. In this way, the database would have UK and when you re-entered the screen, a PBO module could obtain the text for UK for display.
Or, if you must store the text value instead of the code (seems redundant...you can look up the text anytime), an enhancement to the save to database logic to obtain the correct value from the current value of the code and save that to the database....

"Field ID of Standard Location Structure for Development empty" error?

Hi there
I am implementing the land use management enhancement. It allows me to define an object called a "Public Register" which represents a "set" of land objecs (land parcels, rental units, etc) under special circumstances such as hazardous areas.
Unfortunately it returns two errors on validation/save:
Field ID of Standard Location Structure for Development empty
Field ID of Standard Location Structure for Easement Reg empty
It has no description or reference to any documentation.
What could this error mean?
