Entry in RSS Feed won't delete

I have an entry that has been deleted from my blog page in iWeb, but the summary continues to display on the RSS Feed. I've accessed the feed from various computers and still see the same results. Of course, because the entry on the blog is deleted, when a user clicks on Read More from the RSS feed they receive a page not found error.
Does anyone know how or why the entry I deleted from my blog continues to show on the RSS feed?

I assume you have deleted the page or entry, and saved the changes in iWeb, but have you also republished?
That should rewrite the rrs feed in your iWeb RSS folder.
If not, you may have to go to the rrs file, and modify it manually.

  • RSS Feeds won't delete in Mail

I have several RSS feeds coming into my INBOX. Once I read them, I delete them which places them in my TRASH. So far so good. But after I empty my TRASH and go to check new messages in my INBOX, they all show back up as new. Anyone got an answer?

I fear that they are key stroke readers and I want to know how
    to get rid of them.
Having key stroke readers or spyware requires installing spyware. Do these messages include attachments that you opened? Even so, installing a program that is spyware requires entering your admin password.
The account's Junk mailbox may have some corruption. If this email account is a POP type account, do the following:
Quit Mail first and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > Junk.mbox. The Junk.mbox within the account named folder represents the account named Junk mailbox under Junk in the mailboxes drawer.
Delete the Junk.mbox and empty the Trash.
Launch Mail and a new Junk.mbox will be created automatically by Mail within the account named folder when the next spam message received is automatically or manually marked as Junk.

  • Firefox 34.0.5: Live bookmarks (RSS feeds) won't stay open! :(

Firefox 34.0.5: Live bookmarks (RSS feeds) won't stay open! If I close Firefox and reopen it, all my live bookmark folders are closed and I have to manually reopen them (such as BBC World News, etc.). Please restore the old functionality: If I have it open when I quit, let it be open when I come back! If I had it closed, then keep it closed. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply and for taking an interest. I've attached the screenshot in PNG format--hope that's okay. I use bookmarks only in the Sidebar, never in the toolbar (I just have way too many!)
The BBC News live bookmark that is shown opened in that screenshot always comes back closed after I close Firefox and reopen it. (This is true for ALL other live bookmarks as well. Formerly, in earlier versions of Firefox, the open ones always remained open, and the closed ones closed, which is the correct behavior, imho.)

  • Rss feed won't validate when I use the itunes:order element?

    Hi
I'm trying to use the <itunes:order> element -
    http://deimos.apple.com/rsrc/doc/iTunesUAdministrationGuide/AddingContent/chapte r12_section3.html
When I run my feed through the W3C rss validator it won't validate. It says - Undefined item element: itunes:order
I also get a recommendation which says - Use of unknown namespace: http://www.itunesu.com/feed
As far as I can tell I'm doing everything correctly. The iTunes and iTunesU namespaces are declared correctly in the root rss element and the itunes:order are where they should be within the <item></item> element.
What am I doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.

I have been in touch with someone at Apple and I was advised that I shouldn't worry about this.
It would seem that the feed validator doesn't recognise the iTunes U namespace and some of the iTunes and iTunes U specific feed elements. The use of an unknown namespace gives an adviosry note and <itunes:order> and <itunesu:category> elements will not validate at all. I suspect there may be other elements that I haven't used in our feeds.

  • Rss feed won't publish all my blog posts, help please!

I posted my blog in iWeb using the rss feed widget. I have about 10 blog posts on my blog, but only about 5 show up in the feed. I have changed the size of the page, and the amount of articles in the feed inspector to 20. Is this a problem with the cache? If it is I will delete it. Please help!

    Ok...
You are running 10.6.2 according to your profile. Download and install the v10.6.3 Combo Update
    Then repair disk permissions.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

  • Firefox 13.0+ bookmarked RSS feeds won't auto refresh

Hello. Since Firefox 13.0 and above (up to the latest 17 pre alpha nightly) the feature that allows your bookmarked RSS feeds to be automatically updated is GONE. Previously popular browser.bookmarks.livemark_refresh_seconds (I had to enter this value) either broken or does not exist in the latest FF versions, it is simply does not work.
I've tried everything, starting from disabling add-ons to safe mode but nothing helps in solving this problem. Could you please tell if this is a bug or this feature is no longer supported in Firefox so I can stop bothering and switch to another browser
    Best Regards

Yes, you now need to refresh the live feed items manually because live feeds now work as regular bookmarks.<br />
Only the initial loading is automatic the first time you open a live feed bookmark.

  • Blog RSS Feed won't work

In my application if the blog appears on the restricted page where login is required "Subscribe to RSS" link gives the error as below.
Safari can't open the page "feed:xxx.xxxx.xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/-/blogs/rss". The error is: "The feed could not be loaded because the content is not in a known feed format." (PubSub:2) Please choose Safari > Report Bugs to Apple, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.
RSS Feed loads correctly in on MAC Firefox.
If the blog appears on the page where login is not required, RSS Feed loads correctly in MAC Safari also.
Is the feed processed differently in both scenarios described above? Is there a way to make it work?

  • RSS feeds won't post numbers anymore

When I up graded Safari won't post the number of articles that are new anymore. It won't do on my bookmark bar or bookmark menu. I have tried resetting and nothing seems to work.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
RSS is a new feature, whose inner workings are still somewhat mysterious. In short, you may have a corrupted data base file, which is not working as designed.
This thread will give you guidance about removing and resetting the data base file from your User Library>Syndication folder.

  • Unable to remove RSS feed

I can get rid of all RSS feeds except one.
This one RSS feed won't remove. Selecting Delete feed doesn't do the trick.
When I select all messages in the RSS feed and delete them, nothing happens. When I select the RSS feed and select Delete feed, then all messages disappear, but the feed is still there, empty but still there.
No matter what I do, it won't delete.
When I move it to the Inbox and delete from there, it simply jumps back to the RSS feed section.
    Anybody seen this before?

    Sue,
Thanks, but that is the same as right clicking on the feed itself.
The answer I found, is to go to your user's library/mail folder. There is a RSS folder. I deleted the specific RSS feed from that folder.
After restarting Mail there will be a ! exclamation mark next to the feed that doesn't delete. Updating will make the feed remove.
    Voila. Solved my problem meself!
Must be a bug of some sort. I don't expect people to fumble around in the library section

  • ?How do I Remove RSS Feeds from my Email account?

I set up some RSS feeds in my mac email account?
Please don't tell me to "right-click" my mouse because I am using a macbook and I have no mouse, just the track-pad and right-clicking it does nothing different than left-clicking it. Or for that matter, than standing on my head and singing Celine Dion. Other than annoying my girlfriend.
I have tried setting my preferences to manual update, even to making Safari the default RSS reader but I can't remove the feeds themselves from the email account.
I have a Macbook, use Safari, Leopard, OS X 10.5 if that helps.
    Thanks in advance,
    Keith

Dude, first the right-click thing... You can achieve the equivalent by holding down the control key and clicking -- you'll see a contextual menu pop up. Cool, huh?
Now, control-click on that unwanted RSS feed and choose delete feed. Happy day!

  • I just wanted to know how to stop loading of rss feeds automatically ? In prior to FF 11 the rss feeds would display if there was no internet connection

I just wanted to know how to stop loading of rss feeds automatically ? In prior to FF 11 the rss feeds would display if there was no internet connection but now in newer version it would say live bookmark failed to load and doesn't display any feeds, in previous version it would atleast display feeds but in newer version it won't display anything:(

hello Nitin1234, the handling of live bookmarks was changed quite fundamentally starting in firefox 13 & upwards in order to improve the overall performance of the browser - now rss feeds won't get updated in the background anymore but will only be fetched when you're actively accessing them. this is probably leading to the unwanted side-effect that you're experiencing, unfortunately i don't know any way around that.
nevertheless please [[Update Firefox to the latest version|update firefox to the latest version]] (16.0.1 at the moment) to stay secure on the web, since there have been many [https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html highly critical vulnerabilities fixed] since firefox 11/13!

  • An RSS feed without all the RE:'s???

I must be the only one that reads cretin boards on here via RSS.
The problem is, I get hundreds of posts a day because the RSS feed includes EVERY SINGLE MESSAGE that is posted! Why not only when a new topic is posted? I could then go from 200 messages a day, to like 20 if only new threads where put in the RSS and not every single reply to them.
I tried to filter the RSS feed by automatically deleting anything that starts with "RE:" in the title, but that just messes everything up and I loose a lot of the real new messages.
I am using Google reader by the way.
So is there anyway that this can be fixed, or, is there anyone else here that reads these forums via RSS and can share what they have done to fix this problem?
    Thanks!
    Scott

    sdschramm,
If you click the RSS icon at the bottom of Apple Discussions, it will take you to a list of all the available RSS feeds. There are 4 different feeds for each category, unfortunately the legend/links are confused.
I assume you attempted to subscribe to an RSS feed for "Threads" which is actually feeding all the messages in that forum/category. Instead, subscribe to the one that according to the legend is for "Messages" . This will actually give you only the topics that are being posted.
This problem will be sorted in a planned update.
    Eric W.

  • RSS Feeds on Podcast(not working)

I use Go daddy as my host not .mac which I am starting to believe is the cause of the problem.

is my page that I am having problems with so you can see for yourself....does anyone know why the RSS feeds won't work?

ok we're getting closer this helped but still not correct.
I entered the site in the box however it doesn't give the right link in the box.
I tried renaming my file a few times however nothing seems to work
Instead of giving the correct RSS feed it includes the file name
    so instead of being feed://www.johnnyjungle.com/Jungle_Radio/rss.xml
    it comes up at feed://www.johnnyjungle.com/JohnnyJungle/JungleRadio/rss.xml
as my file name is Johnny Jungle. I tried making it http://www.johnnyjungle.com for the file name but it does the same thing.

  • Display an rss feed from a third party site?

    Hi there
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience or ideas on how one would display a feed (rss or similar) - in this case for publications - from a clients other site into a BC site. I know this can be done on a php based site in several ways (magpie being one).
Is this something that could be accomplished using js in a relaible way?
Many thanks for any thoughts or suggestions!
    Gar

I've used jFeed before to some great effect: https://github.com/jfhovinne/jFeed/archives/master
It's a jQuery plugin.  The bad news is those RSS feeds won't have any SEO value since javascript happens on the client side and search engine robots won't see the outputted feed from the javascript.
