Environment,Health&Safety(EH&S) management module in SAP

Hi,
Can anybody send me some light on Environment,Health&Safety(EH&S) management module in SAP.
Regards,
Chandra

Hi Chandra,
please find below some more advantages of EHS Module in details,
A) Storing and managing EH&S data: EH&S Module provides a flexible specification database that helps to track substances, exposures, packaging, dangerous goods
classifications, and waste codes.
B) Managing documents:  It helps to produce and maintain a variety of documents, such as material safety data sheets, transport emergency cards (tremcards), standard operating procedures, and labels.
C) Tracking substance volumes: With SAP EH&S , User can track the volumes of hazardous substances  that can purchase, import, produce, sell, or export. Once the volume of a substance reaches a certain limit, the software warns User, prompting User to perform the regulatory compliance tasks required.3
D) Keeping track of dangerous goods: With SAP EH&S automatically supplying that data to other solutions for use in delivery notes and packing lists. The software also checks to determine whether a planned means of transport u2013 such as road, rail, sea, or air u2013 is appropriate, and helps to ensure that only those shipments that comply with regulations are allowed to leave company premises.
E) Managing waste disposal: SAP EH&S helps to dispose of hazardous and nonhazardous waste as efficiently as possible in compliance with all relevant national and  international rules and regulations.
F) Enhancing employee safety: EH&S provides industrial hygiene and safety and occupational health functions with which useru can pinpoint and minimize risks to employeesu2019 health u2013 and comply with safety laws and regulations in doing so.
G)Supporting Preventive Healthcare:  With SAP EH&S, user can track employee healthcare treatments and examinations and monitor the results and diagnoses.
H)Comply With Regulations: User can track EH&S processes and documentation better. That, in turn, helps company to avoid fines and penalties, minimize risk, and enhance employee, customer, and community safety.
I) Control Costs: EHS helps company to optimize and automate all EH&S processes and operate with consistent, accurate information throughout the product life cycle u2013 saving both time and money.
In case of any doubt, please revert.

  • PLM  and Environment Health & safety

My cutsomer is upgrading to SAP ERP 6.0 and they want to know if PLM must also be implemented in order to deploy any environment health and safety capabilities?
    Thanks you

    Hi Lois,
EH&S is part of the PLM Extension.
The software component is EA-APPL (SAP Enterprise Extension PLM, SCM, Financials).
That means that EH&S is not independent from the PLM extension.
In SAP configuration you should activate the PLM extension in order to use EH&S. Some parts of EH&S (ECM objects, SAP Menu entries, ...) will be in place when activating the PLM extension.

  • Problem with Per diem calculation in Travel Management module

    Dear ALL,
We have configured Travel Management module in SAP and we have an issue with per diem calculation, viz.,  whenever we add an additional destination in the trip (T.code TRIP).
Ex: Employee's travel plan from 10/8/2011 (06.00 hrs) to 13/8/2011 (06:00 hrs)... in 24 hrs format.  When the employee goes directly to one destination and coming back, the per diem calc is coming right.  i.e., per diem amount for 3 days.
But when we add additional destination between the trip period-  viz.,  either 10th eve (18.00 hrs) or on 11th Aug-  the per diem calc is being done by system for 4 days instead of 3 days only.
In otherwords, for every additional destination in the itinerary, one extra per diem is being calculated (when we simulate in T.Code: PR05)
    Would appreciate guidance ASAP.

    Santosh

  • Time management module

    Hi,
Could you please provide the steps for end to end implementation on time management module in SAP HR?

You have to create atleast the work schedule which will consist of DWS and PSW and then work scheedule rule. Also I think you will require to configure feature SCHKZ to default work schedule rule in IT0007.
After doing this configuration you can create wagetypes related to ur time and you can pay these wage types through IT2010 ee remuneration info
if the wt will have rate then that rate you can maintain in T510 and may be to meet the complete requirement you need to write little bit code in CATS exit.
otherwise you will be able to pay through 2010 and you can enter the data thru CAT2 tcode. Just you need to create a profile and set the view for entering the data like single entry or mass entry.
    SPRO->IMG->Cross-Application Components->Time Sheet->Specific Settings for CATS Regular->CATS Regular->Record Working Time
    hope this will help

  • Color Management Module In Photoshop

Question:  A color management module is the software that defines the mathematical manipulations by which color conversions are made?

    Thanks for your quick reply.

Subject: Color Management Module In Photoshop
Re: Color Management Module In Photoshop created by ronzie99 in Photoshop Elements - View the full discussion
There are different types of icc\icm profiles used in color management.
First is the color workspace. PSE is by default set to create files in the color space embedded in the image opened and if not then the default color space of your choosing. The type of color space describes the gamut limitations of that color space.
Next are device specific color profiles. These are the display and printer profiles but can also exist for input devices. These profiles serve as tables to fit the measured characteristicsof the device to the color space requireed. For output devices there are Rendering Intents that can be chosen to determine how the limitations of a device can be best interpolated to fit the color space of an image  into the limitations of the device for best appearance.
A practical way to think of a display to output workflow think of the color space situated between the displayed image and the output device with the color space in the middle defining limitations as a standard. The devices profiles are then measured against the standard color profile to create corrections or translation table so they react appropropriately to present the image on the display for the output device target profile in an attempt to get a 'what you see is what you get' envirionment for the specific devices used.
You need to create via calibration either by you (better) or insttall from the manufacturer a profile for the display. This matches your display device to the 'standard' profile. If you go to print then you'll need to install a printer profile (which varies by ink and paper type) either OEM or from paper suppliers or created by a measuring device you can purchase if you go 'rogue' regrding non-OEM inks and papers.
PSE does not have a soft-proof mode built in like Photoshop. It does have a setup, though, where it will let you assign every time you print an output profile that you select if you want PSE to directly manage the printer for tonality and color, in which case in the printer driver itself you disable color management only leaving the driver to descrive the image quality and surface type of the paer chosen and choosing none or leaving icm unchecked in the printer driver. The profile is selected in the PSE printer driver under advanced.
Soft proof mode is where the display translation is further manipulated to approximate the printer output. This can happen because you have calibrated your monitor to a standard and a printer tothat same standard. I have an add-on for PSE 10 called Elements +  that in addition to lots of filters and effects adds some soft-proofing capability and curve color level adjustments to PSE. http://www.simplephotoshop.com/elementsplus/index.htm
In practical terms that is the function of color management.
BTW: The defacto color space for the Internet web browsers is sRGB. Use this when correcting color for web distribution.

  • Is Quality management module required to be used for vendor evaluation?

    Hi,
There is vendor evaluation functionality in MM. Is use of quality management module is mandatory for this? I wish to track the performance of vendor regarding quality (How much he has supplied, out of which how many are accepted and how many are rejected). Can I get this report without using QM?
    Thanks in advance,
    Satish

you can enter Quality results manually in vendor evealuation, so QM is not necessary for this, however with QM you can get the scores semi-automatic and  automatically.

  • Resource Assignment without Project Resource Management Module

    Hi Dina,
We are implementing Oracle projects for one of our customers. The customer does not want to implement Project Resource Management module. Is it possible to assign resources to a project or create a new requirement using the Resources tab in Project screen (HTML page) without implementing the Project Resource Management module. Pls let us know.
    Regards,

    Hi
With Project Management you can assign resources to the work plan. Resources might be named people or generic resource by job.
You can track planned hours by resource versus actual time worked, You can look at roll-up of planned hours across multiple projects for the same resource, or summarization of planned and actual hours using the RBS.
However, you will not get the functionality of demand published to resource managers, and the search functionality for available person to join the requiring project.
