Envy 14-3017NR no Audio Driver After Recovery Install

Hello,
I'm looking for a help. I have performed a clean install of Windows 7 trough booting into HP Recovery Manager (F11 thing). It installed the OS and all other drivers seems to be OK except there is no driver for the audio at all (none of the built in speaker or jack-output will actually work).
I've been trying to install the audio driver from HP Support & Drivers page, from the HP recovery manager software. I have also tried to install multiple times the Intel chipset driver and then attempting the audio driver installation.. No success.
Moreover, I cannot seem to find the Beat's audio interface that was installed initially after unboxing the machine. The beats and trackpad-locking lights are also not functional on the laptop body itself... Am I missing something or what? Your response would be much appreciated! Thank you.
I'm attaching an image of the error I'm getting when installing the driver trough HP Recovery Manager software.

Hi,
Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp57001-57500/sp57195.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then perform a hard reset for your Model as detailed in the document Here.
Next, tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

DP-K

  • Problems with dolby advanced audio driver after upgrade on X230

    Hello,
After I downloaded manually realtek audio driver version 6.0.1.6647 and upgraded it on my X230 I get following error:
actual version 7.2.8000.13 of dolby-audiodriver is installed, but the software need driver-version 7.2.7000.7. Please install a correct combination of software and driver.
I found in the net that other users got a similar error on Thinkpad E530 and a conexant driver. There it helped to de-install the driver, no reboot and run the thinkvantage upgrade tool, which repaired the problem automaticly.
I tried it in the same way, but after I de-installed the driver, the upgrade-tool didn't found any upgrade. And I have no conexant driver.
What can I do to fix this error?
    Thanks for Help

  • Unable to start the Dolby audio driver after updating windows 10

I am using a Lenovo Laptop G510 that came with Windows 8 preinstalled. Yesterday I updated it to Windows 10 and after that whenever I boot my pc to desktop I get an error message saying that "Unable to start the Dolby audio driver". I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Audio driver from my computer but still the error comes up. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?  Thanks

    hi Abrahamjoy,
    Can you try these steps:
    1. Follow this guide on how to disable automatic driver installation.
    2. Press the Windows key‌ +X and choose Device Manager. On the Device Manager, navigate to
     -  Sound, video and game controllers > right click on  Conexant SmartAudio or IDT High Definition Audio >  choose uninstall > and ensure the delete the driver software for this device is checked.
    3. Press the Windows key‌ +X and choose Programs and Features. On the list of apps, uninstall anything that relates to the Conexant/IDT & Dolby then reboot.
    4. After the reboot, download and install the driver below (this should install the audio & dolby components)
     - Audio Driver (Conexant) for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Lenovo G410, G510
When finished, you the audio & dolby settings should now work and the errors should not pop-up anymore.

  • Envy 17-3070NR Linux Audio Driver

Hi,  What audio chipset is being used in the Envy 17-3070NR?  Is there a Linux driver for the audio hardware device(s)?  I am able to boot Ubuntu and several other recent linux distro's but none of them seem to have an integral audio driver that works with the audio chipset in this laptop.  So what device is it and/or where might I find a linux driver?

FWIW I just got my envy 17t-3000 audio to work.
It turns out I have 3 audio devices (hdmi, analog-internal, and a usb)  Things get wonky with all 3 loaded and as I'm not using the wirelss audio device I've put snd_usb_audio into my /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf file and Now I can get the internal speakers to work.
Note: I still had to fiddle with the audio manager to get it working.  but its working ok now. (ubuntu 11.04 + linux 3.2.3 vanilla kernel)

  • Missing audio driver after upgrade/Skype install

    Hi,
A few days a ago I fresh installed Arch 64b/KDE 4.5.1 on a new PC and fully updated it.
During the installation, I remember alsa has worked fine
Yesterday I've installed Skype from repositories (inc 32b libraries), and upgraded to x-server 1.90 (as part of a full upgarde).
Ever since, upon login KDE complaints about a missing audio device (which it did NOT before), Skype offers only Pulse audio (and does NOT work), and my on board audio driver is missing.
Although on-board audio IS ENABLED at the BIOS, the on board audio modules are NOT loaded as indicated by the following:

  • H67MA-E45 - Audio driver will not install

    Hello,
I look very much forward to suggestions how to install audio drivers for mainboard H67MA-E45 under Windows XP SP3.
After the hotfix KB888111 was installed, the Device Manager shows "Other Devices/Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" (four of them show up).
I tried to install the latest audio driver 5.10.0.6151 (Windows XP) from MSI's web site, but I always get the same error message: "The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software". I have looked through all available catalogues to find the missing files, without success.
    Regards
    Adlon

Thank you Svet, I tried the following suggestion but it did not work:
    "Do this:
Go to device manager, then expand "System Devices", and locate "MS UAA bus" Right click over it, then click "Disable".
    Reboot and enter in "Safe Mode", {hit "F8" just after bios post screen}
Once done go to device manager then expand "System Devices", and locate "MS UAA bus"  Right click over it, then click "Un-install".
Reboot PC, then run Realtek driver installation again."
Instead of "Other Devices/Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" the Device Manager now shows "Other Devices/Unknow device (four of them)"
Same message after trying to install the audio drivers "The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software".
I also tried to install the audio drivers after I had changed from version SP3 to SP2 in the registry, but no difference.
    Any more suggestions?

The Microsoft UAA driver for Windows XP 64-bit must be installed before you install the audio codec.
Here is a location for the audio codec.

u401 touch windows 8  audio driver unable to 0wau05w8.exe install error could not find device for this driver
    kindly advise

    hi karthi2lenovo,
    Welcome to the Forums.
If the conexant audio drivers from the lenovo website doesn't detect the device, can you try to:
    1. Open Device Manager (press Winkey+R > type devmgmt.msc)
    2. On the device manager, open Sound, video, and game controllers and Other Devices then check the status (if there's a yellow exclamation mark, error codes, etc.)
    3. As an alternative, try this conexant driver from station-drivers:
    Conexant High Definition Smart Audio
    Version 8.64.59.52 (Win8)
    Let me know your findings,

  • Problem Audio Driver couldn't install at all

    Dear friend,
i have recently brand new lenovo laptop series G470, with Windows XP service pack 3,
but i'm having trouble in installing audio driver, which i have tried several times and still not worked,
does anyone here could give me some advices.
    thanks

    Some Lenovo "driver install packages"
    (the file you downloaded)
extract the files to C:\drivers\sound.. folder or similar.
Check if you have such a folder, and if so, run the Setup.exe
    file within that folder.

  • Cant read .mts files with FCP-X on external drive after recovery

I used Data Rescue 3 on my Imac to recover lost files. They came back on the external drive as .mts files but will not import to FCP X. Why?? Do they need to  be in some kind of file for FCP X to recognise them??

    Forum search is your friend.
FCP cannot import .mts files without the folder structure that contains their metadata. You can use ClipWrap to rewrap the files to QuickTime.

  • Mavericks, Safari & audio stutter after clean install

So I've had the audio stuttering problem too since Mavericks.
I just did a clean install on my MBP 15" 2010, specifically to test this theory about Plug-in nonsense.
Fresh install 10.9.1, NO plug-ins added, infact no software added after install. Just stock Apple stuff from installer.
Audio from YouTube & SoundCloud is atrocious in Safari.
Installed FireFox 26, tested, audio was fine.
Then I used the 10.9.2 update which says it addresses the issue, and no improvment either with Safari.
    FireFox still fine.
This is an Apple problem and it is a really bothersome one too.
    Apple, please fix this ASAP.

By "clean install" do you mean you erased the startup partition, reinstalled 10.9.2 (using recovery mode or something else?), & did not migrate anything from a backup after that? If not, it is possible (even likely) that you still have third party additions on your system.
To make sure there is nothing like this going on, please download Etrecheck, run it, & post the results. It is a tiny utility written by forum regular etresoft & displays a lot of diagnostic info that can help troubleshoot issues like this. Before posting, make sure no personal info appears anywhere in the report -- the app is designed to redact things like your account names but there is tiny a chance that some non-standard naming convention won't be detected.

  • G60-audio drives won't install

have tried to install drivers for audio on  G60-519wm they won't install any help. running win 7 home premium 32 bit
    3 gb ram

    Hi Stu
The original recovery media can be ordered by authorized Toshiba service partner in your country. If you want to find out more contact them. Addresses you can find under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_gaspLocator.jsp?pf=true
By usage of Microsoft full version installations CD you can download all necessary drivers, tools and utilities from Toshiba download site. There are no download limits and all stuff on download page is for everyone.
Toshiba policy is that you buy unit and OS with valid license. Toshiba dont force nobody to use just delivered OS. You can do what you want and install your favorite OS (if delivered with Home you can install Pro version). Because of that all drivers are on download page.

  • [SOLVED] BIOS not detecting USB Drives after i installed Arch

SOLVED: In BIOS under 'Advanced' disable 'Fast BIOS Mode'.
    Original post:
    Hi there!
I'm fairly new to the arch (and linux) scene and just setup my Samsung 530U3B with a brand new installation of arch. Everything went fine and the system is running flawlessly. Almost.
I just happend to notice that BIOS is not checking for USB drives anymore, it just somehow skips that part. If enter the boot selection, the bootable USB drive won't show up. Neither does it show up in BIOS setup. I tried to boot with the same USB drive that i used to install arch just yesterday, the live media does not boot - the drive doesn't even blink. The boot priority is set to usb drive first, the boot selection screen (hammering f10 during boot) doesn't give me any other option than to boot from the normal SSD. Also, prior to the arch installation (came with w7 installed) the BIOS screen would stay for about 2seconds and then proceed to boot - this doesn't happen anymore. When i press the power button greeted by the grub bootloader in about 1s.
I tried 2 different usb drives, both with the arch iso (same that i used to install the currently running OS, downloaded yesterday). The drives also show up once my arch is booted (starting to blink just after i hit enter in grub). Also, both drives boot without a problem on my desktop computer.
    Anyone got any ideas?
I don't really now what kinda of information would be helpful so i'm just dumping stuff i know:
BIOS: Phoenix SecureCore Tiano Version 04XK
    Machine: Samsung 530U3B
    SSD: Samsung MZ7PC128HAFU-000
ISO used to install (checksum ok): archlinux-2012.07.15-netinstall-dual.iso

    Welcome to the forum.
If you just set the USB stick to be first in the boot order, the next option (from the list) takes its place the moment you unplug it. You need to set the BIOS to boot from your equivalent of "Removable Devices" first, "Internal Drives" second and "Optical Drives" third.
The USB stick doesn't show up at all. I set the priority as follows:
    1. USB HDD
    2. USB FDD
    3. USB CD
    4. SATA CD
    5. SATA HDD
    6. NETWORK
I used that same configuration to install arch. USB doesn't seem to initialize at all. Also, if i enter "usb" in the grub commandline, no devices are listed.
    Thanks!
    UPDATE:
I just figured it out. In my BIOS under 'Advanced' the 'Fast BIOS Mode' was enabled, once i disabled it, everything went fine. I don't remember changing that option. Silly me.
    Sorry for your time

  • Heavily distorted audio even after fresh install of bootcamp.

    I'm running BootCamp with Windows 7 64-bit on a Macbook Pro (15-inch, early 2011).
I haven't been having any issues with sound until about 4-6 months ago. Since then, over time more and more of my games are having audio issues. An example is http://youtu.be/e-skZ3e5Wm4?t=10s .  All bass is translated to garbled noise, and if there's more than a few channels of sound going on at once it gets pretty ridiculous sounding. Crackling/Popping/Distorted sound. Even the sample rates seem to warp as you can hear in the video, the voice is stretched out and heavily distorted.
This is happening in many of my games which have been working flawlessly over the passed year, now suddenly they are almost all having this problem. I've tried http://brianreiter.org/2010/08/16/fixed-boot-camp-audio-pops-and-crackles-with-w indows-7-x64/  and it doesn't work. I've tried changing the sample rates, doesn't work. I'm stumped.
Should I upgrade to windows 8? Is it because Apple has stopped releasing updates for the windows 7 bootcamps?

    It's not a virus.
The screen you see (that requests you to restart your computer) is referred to as a kernel panic; these are often hardware-related.
What you're describing sounds like a possible hard drive failure.
Have you run the Apple Hardware Test? Is your computer still under warranty?
Get your data backed up, if you haven't already, just in case!
    ~Lyssa
