Envy 17-j051ei ssd compatibility list?

Hi
Could you please post a list of compatible SSD's including which HP recommends.
Kind regards

Hi
HP has not tested any for your model except 24GB & 32GB mSATA cache SSD , which can only be put in system upto 8GB RAM & I assume yours has 16GB.
Go through this manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03922401.pdf
But that does not mean you cannot replace it, there is no problem in upgrading in HDD to SSD.

I like Samsung EVO SSD , and is planning for upgrade of my system.

  • Hardware Compatibility List for installation of solaris 10 on DELL units

    Hi,
I have a requirement to install solaris 10 on a few Dell servers and desktops.
I was unable to install on Dell PowerEdge SC1435 and noticed it is not on the HCL for Dell servers. This unit has dual core AMD Opteron processors. Is the HCL kept up to date, I noticed items 58 and 59 had the same description (SC1430). Should I abondon further attempts and go to the SC2950 which is on the HCL?
Also on the desktop side, both my choices, Dell OptiPlex 745 dual core, and Dell Precision 690 dual core are not on the HCL. A possible alternative on the HCL is the Precision 670.
    Any info would be apprecitate.

I am also having the same issue on a Dell Poweredge SC1435. I get a "ERROR: The disc you inserted is not a Solaris OS/DVD" right after I select the machine to automatically reboot after it finishes installing. It then kicks me out to a Unix shell prompt and I notice that the CD is no longer mounted when I do a "df -k". I've done some research on the web and none of the proposed solutions worked. I'm assuming this has something to do with hardware conflicts with the machine and the fact that the machine is not on the Hardware Compat List yet.
Plus, I know my cd media is good, since I was able to install Solaris 10 x86 perfectly fine on my Dell Poweredge SC420. I'm using the latest Solaris 10 11/06 CD media.

  • BRM / BRFplus product compatibility list

    Hi all,
Has there been a BRFplus / BRM product compatibility list created?  I'm looking for something that highlights the crossover functionality, and more importantly, the times when one product would be better to use than another.
All I have seen so far is answers like 'When you are using the java stack use BRM' or 'When you are using ABAP stack use BRFplus'.  This is sometimes a little too vague though since so many of SAP's products integrate with each other in some way or another.
If we could have a nice list that highlighted the best combination's of tools, that would be nice.  For example if we could easily find out which rules product would integrate best with a CRM / ERP landscape.  Or which rules product would work best if we were planning to use BPM alongside our CRM / ERP system and required our rules to consumed as web services in an SOA environment.
Right now I'm finding lots of information on both products, but since the products are so similar it's hard to know which one to use for a given scenario.
    Any guidance appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Lee

    Hi Chris,
We are stil working on a paper for comparison and a roadmap to bring both engines more closely together. There are some differences but there is also many similar things in the two products.
Just give us some more time.

  • Macbook Pro 5,1 SSD Compatibility

    Greetings,
I just have a couple questions regarding SSD compatibility with a MBP 5,1.
I was thinking of buying a OCZ 120 GB Vertex 2 Series SATA II 2.5in SSD, and I was wondering if there are any compatibility issues I should be worried about with the MBP 5,1 (late 2008).
Is the instillation of HDs any trickier on the 5,1 than the more recent MBP's? Also if I took it into an apple store to get installed how much would it cost? Any ideas?

    Chris Lo wrote:

    Hi Chris,
I am not aware of any compatibility issues between that SSD and your machine. I've purchased a couple of their SSD drives and the install was quick and easy. Although I haven't installed one of their drives into the MBP 5,1 (Late 2008), I have installed SSDs and normal SATA drives into the same body style and there's been significant reworking between the models that I've come across. Just make sure you have the appropriate tool for the drive screws and you'll be all set.
Regarding the install, the Apple Store will not install 3rd party components into your machine. Nor do they sell HDs that they will install. Apple will only install the RAM you buy there or replace parts as a result of a service.

  • Windows 10 Compatibility listing - Or lack thereof

I see that my system (IdeaCentre K430) is not listed as compatible with Windoes 10.  Probably why the Windows 10 upgrade icon never showed up (yes; I tried all the "fixes" listed or referenced on the web; specifically the Microsoft support site). And I'm very leary of using the Windows Media Creation Tool to try to upgrade.  Especially since Lenovo says my system is NOT compatible with win 10.  And after reading some of the eye popping posts out here on these forums (and others). My questions are when can we expect updates to this listing?  Is Lenovo working with Microsoft to get our systems compatible?  How will we know when our systems "ARE" compatible?  Just for the record, I'm running an I5 3350P 3.1 GHZ with config #57308924.  Windows 8.1.

    Willia451,
I appreciate your frustration that you did not receive a timely response, but this is primarily a peer to peer community and Lenovo can't reply in every thread as much as I wish we were able to .
As skoop suggests, this compatibility list basically covers about a 2 year window for systems that were in production during that period that Lenovo tested and supports Windows 10 on.  This does not mean that Win 10 won't work on other models.  It may be that some features won't be fully supported.
The icon may not show up for everyone at once as I believe microsoft is managing traffic to the servers by rolling it out in waves.
There is some good information in this thread that may help you get the upgrade, especially page three.
    Best regards,
    Mark

Just a suggestion, but I don't let windows AUTOMATICALLY install anything. That's a bad idea IMHO. For example, I'm in no rush to install IE7 given I use firefox most of the time.
You might want to switch things so that windows notifies you that there are updates available but then waits for you to review things and decide what you really want -- that is, do a custom install.
Of course I was stupid and immediately upgraded to itunes 7 -- an action that I will forever regret. Oy.

  • Set compatibility list to default to IE9 instead of 7

I need to deploy some sites to run under compatibility mode as IE9 under IE11. The issue I am facing is that when setting is deployed through GPO, it defaults to IE7. Is there anyway that I can tell IE11 to run sites that are in the compatibility list

    Hi  dom,
Besides Enterprise Mode, you can also try the GPO setting listed below:

  • Envy 17 SSD compatibility

I'm trying to install/upgrade a 60gb Corsair SSD.  When I put in the available secondary hdd slot it shows up fine in windows and I'm able format and mirror image the drive. But when I take out the original 1tb HDD and put the SSD in the primary slot the machine won't boot. I even try to run the recovery dvd's to put a fresh install and it doesn't recognize the SSD.  Is there a list of compatible drives and/or more options in the BIOS? I'm very frustrated with how limited the BIOS is.
Also where's the RAM in case I want to upgrade that as well?

  • Envy 15t (I7-4710HQ + Intel HD Graphics 4600) SSD Compatibility?

    Hi All,
I'm looking at purchasing the Envy 15t  i7-4710HQ Quad Core Processor + Intel® HD Graphics 4600.
When I try to select the 256GB SSD for the hard-drive, I get an error telling me that the Graphics chipset is not compatible with SSD and vice versa. Either I need to select a regular hard drive or change the graphics chipset which unfortunately would require me to change to a dual core 4510U processor which I'd prefer not to do.
    http://www.shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/products/Laptops/HP-ENVY/G0T95AV?HP-ENVY-15t
I'm not too phased about buying the SSD from HP directly, I'm happy to add one in after the fact.
So, does anyone know if there is a definite incompatibility between the CPU / GPU and an SSD?
Additionally, is the 15t able to carry both an SSD and a regular hard drive?
I've seen the 15t-j000 being offered with both by default - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EWHJWLU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2TC87EJKQMY9O
Assuming the 15t above is able to run an SSD, does this mean I can buy the 15t above with a regular hard drive and add an SSD for my primary drive after I get it?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
The Envy 15t with Intel HD graphics card probably doesn't have a mSATA slot. That means if the 256GB SSD is a mSATA one you can't have it in your laptop. I think it's the setup for the laptop from amazon. There is a 240GB SSD plus a 1TB HDD which is most likely a 240GB mSATA SSD and a 2.5" 1TB hard drive because the laptop has nVidia vga and also it's a 15.6" model with only one hard drive bay. Laptops with nVidia graphics chips definitely have a mSATA slot.
Yes, you can get the laptop with a hard drive and then upgrade it to a proper 2.5" solid drive.

Thank you for your reply. I suspected as much but it would be good if there was something somewhere that listed compatible or non-compatable devices for SSD's.
I know it could be a lonk list, but I'd prefer if someone "in the know" sayts so, especially when the cost of an SSD is so much.
The drive is for my wifes machine so I wanted to get the biggest drive I could, within a price range, ao she doesn't worry about running out of space.
I'm in England and got a 480GB Crucial drive from Scan for £220. More than I wanted to pay but it's done now. I closed my eyes when I clicked the buy button.
    Thanks again for your reply.
