Envy X2 keyboard dock battery draining problem?

The problem I'm having is the keyboard docks battery will drain down to 2% even when the envy x2 is turned off. The problem is the keyboard docks battery is constantly charging the tablet when docked together even when the tablet is already 100% charged, so the keyboard dock battery will drain down to 2% after who knows how long.
This problem hopefully can be fixed with a bios update, i already have the latest F08 bios installed.
Thanks

Hey TheNeck,
I'm sorry you're having this charging issue with the dock. I'm showing that the latest BIOS for at least one model is F.12. Which Envy x2 model do you have? You can find this information by pressing FN + ESC or by searching for and opening msinfo32.exe. The product number (abbreviated p/n) or full model number (Envy x2 - g###XX) would be helpful. I'll keep an eye out for your reply
BIOS version F.12

Neither. 4.1 does not have a battery drain problem, your iPhone has a battery drain problem. You need to fix the problem at its root. Every version has caused problems for some people, and it isn't a problem in the release, it is a problem with something getting corrupted during the update process. Here's the evidence:

How to fix iPhone 5's crapy battery drain problem

It's not that bad bro. Just turn LTE off when not needed. Turn notifications, push, spotlight search, wifi, etc off if you don't feel the need of them. The big drain is from LTE so I guess if you turn it off the battery wont drain that fast.

  • Battery drain problem - question if auto lock is problem

Just upgraded from iPad2 to Retina iPad. Went smoothly with cloud backup and download but experiencing sever battery drain. Went to use it 2 days ago after limited use prior evening (taking minutes in Evernote for 2 hr meeting) and had shut off. Restarted and had 2% battery and totally useless. Recharged overnight to 100% but had no demands yesterday. That evening opened up and found I had 21% remaining.
Did battery problem search at this site, made some adjustments, and recharged to 100% for this AM. Two primary adjustments were stopping Bluetooth and Autolock changed from never (iPad2 setting) to 10 minutes and wondering if the autolock feature is the problem as discussed in the next paragraph. Others I didn't change, gmail set to fetch/manual and Cloud is push. WiFi on and disabling like suggested in some threads would be a royal PITA having to turn it back on every time and counter to the Apple vision of useability. App Store is set to advise of updates. Each of those were like on the iPad2 where had no battery problem, except I didn't activate cloud until just prior to the upgrade. IOS on both machines fully upgraded to IOS 6.01.
Interesting discovery this AM. While I set the Auto-Lock to 10 minutes last evening, the the iPad Cover lock/unlock is set "ON". It appears that the 10 minute Auto Lock is working, however, the automatic lock/unlock is not which would explain the battery drain when set autolock was set to never. This AM as I opened it, had to manually unlock it as opposed to having the cover unlock it for me. As I close the cover and peek under the edge can still see the iPad  illuminated until the 10 minutes kicks in...then manually unlock it again. The cover I am using is the heavy duty RooCase with magnetic clip and had no problem when using it with the iPad2. (Great case by the way!) Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • Iphone 3GS 3.1.2 Battery drain problem

    Hi,
Recently i have purchased Iphone 3gs with software 3.1.2. I'm facing a serious problem of battery drain. Without doing anything, the battery drains so fast. Is there is any way to over come this problem?

Here's what I do that usually keeps battery life accurate. Drain the battery till it's dead, charge up full and do a hard reset while it's still plugged in and it usually works. If this fixes it just keep killing the battery and charging it full. If it acts up repeat steps above. Mine works almost everytime when it starts acting up. I was just trying things and this worked. Hope this helps

  • Duplicated battery drain problems...need help testing.

I purchased an 80g classic about two weeks ago. The last 3 mornings I woke to find the battery completely dead. Last night I listened to a song or 2 and then pressed the stop button to turn it off. After reading other post I decided to put my ear to the back of the iPod and sure enough the hard drive was throttling at what sounded like full speed. This got the best of me so I spent about an hour messing around and this is what was noticed.
When launching music from Cover Flow, the hard drive throttles fast the whole time while music is playing causing the battery to drain in a short time. If you launch your music from albums or by artist you will hear the hard drive throttle for about 6 to 8 seconds then go silent. This is the way it should operate.
Next problem was the battery draining overnight while turned off. This was found simply by launching again from Cover Flow. Launch an album then turn off after song starts. You will notice that the hard drive continues to run very fast until the battery is completely drained. If you go back into menus before shutting down it will turn off properly. Again this does not occur when launching by albums or artists.
Cover flow = battery drain and this should have been found buy Apple before releasing to the public. It would be nice if someone from Apple would comment.
I have version 1.0.2 loaded and can’t go back to test version 1.0.1. What I am trying to figure out is this hardware or software. My guess is software but if I can’t get a good feeling about this soon the iPod is getting returned.
Can anyone help in testing this out, launch from Cover Flow and put your ear to the back of your iPod…listen for about 15 seconds, does the hard drive continue to turn fast? When turning off in Cover Flow, does the hard drive stay on?
Please post results and software version, thanks.

I have a Classic 160. With 1.0.1 I had few issues. I was mostly happy, but nervous about all the issues I read in these postings. Only problems I noticed with 1.0.1 were Cover Flow was a bit slow and high rez photos would not show up in manual mode. (But there's no excuse for that is there?) Syncing and battery life were fine. Then I installed 1.0.2. Cover flow works nice and smooth, but I too woke up to a completely drained battery even though I shut the unit down. With 1.0.1 battery seemed to last forever. Now the hard drive stays on after shutting off unit. I found the only way to turn it off is by rebooting the Classic - holding down menu and centre button. For $399 Canadian dollars I am very very disgusted with Apple. Why should a consumer have to constantly check the internet for discussions and updates? And the biggest joke of all is the Apple website offers NO ADVICE, but lets their consumers do all the problem solving for them. Amazing attitude. What's wrong with being upfront and honest that the new iPods have issues? What about the person who can't surf the web all the time for answers? Their Apple iPod purchase becomes a paperweight. My 2 gig keychain MP3 player worked better than this junk. I wish I never bought the thing. For a company like Apple to let the consumer figure out the issues is just not right. Where is firmware 1.0.3????

  • IPhone 4S battery drain problem with iOS 7.0.4

I have a had the iPhone 4 for a year and a half...The battery was working just fine with the iOS 6 but when updating to iOS 7..Things got a bit ridiculous, battery drains 4% in 10 minutes without WiFi. With Wifi it drains about 8% in 10 minutes with only one application used which is Safari. I usually turn off the WiFi and shutting all the applications of before putting on Standby to help in battery time efficiency. I reset all my settings as most of the tutorials say. I don't use GPS and closed most of the notification center applications that I don't use. Battery only lasts like 3 or 4 hours of continuous work with WiFi and low brightness..I'm seeking some help from Apple Technical support WHOM I tried to contact but with no answer.

  • Is the 10.7.2 fixed battery drain problem ?

there is no information anywhere and I wonder if this problem is fixed ?

I wonder what percentage of users has that problem? Maybe I need to retest that one Unibody MacBook battery again with Snow Leopard, we always got poor life with Windows on it.
I will double check also the new 2011 MBP, unfortunately, we have no reference to what is a good battery life on that one. It is a new system. It definitely had no effect on our old white MB.
(Now I am having serious battery life problem with my 2010 Touch could that be an OS?)

  • Has ios 4.3.2 solved the quick battery drain problem?

My 3rd generation ipod touch lasted for days on a battery charge using ios 3.1.3 form A;pril 2010 until July 2010.  After upgrading to ios 4.0 and other "updates" through 4.3.1 the battery does not last overnight when the touch is turned OFF or sleeping.  Apple has not responded to my eleven requests for help and the 'Genius?' offered no solutions except to turn off WI-FI, locations and other functions that I spent $300. to use.  The touch is now out of warranty, so IT IS TIME FOR APPLE TO RELEASE A SOFTWARE FIX FOR THE QUICK BATTERY DRAINS CAUSED BY IOS 4.xx.x.

Not for me.  I upgraded to iOS 4.3.2 on my iPod Touch G3 and everything worked OK, apps and all.  Then the next morning it was completely dead after putting it in standby with a full battery the night before.
I am VERY FRUSTRATED at what 4.2.x has done to the battery life on my iPod Touch.  I use it every day and until I got 4.2.0 I could count on it being there when I needed it.  Now I feel lucky that it even turns on.
I can NO LONGER recommend Apple phones or Touch to my family/friends until this is fixed!
    APPLE, PLEASE FIGURE THIS OUT!

  • HP ENVY dv6t-7300 QUAD: Battery Drains when Shut Down & Doesn't Charge when Battery life is 93%

My HP ENVY dv6t-7300 QUAD had battery discharge when I left it off for a few days on, so far, three occasions:
The battery fully discharged to 0% from 100% when the laptop was left off for a peroid of two weeks
The battery discharged to 95% from 100% when left off for a seperate period of three days
The battery discharged to 94% from 100% when left off for a seperate peroid of four days
These three instances did NOT come consecutively.
When the laptop is left off for one day though, the battery life is at 98% or 99%.
On all occasians, the computer was shut down from the settings tab and NOT put into sleep mode or hibernate mode.
The other issue is that on two different occasions the laptop says that the battery is not charging when the battery life is > 93%.  So far, I have not seen this problem appear when the laptop was below 93% battery.
This problem is intermittent.  The first time it happened, the laptop began to charge at 93% battery life and continuted to sucessfully charge until today (8/11/2013).  Currently, the battery life is at 97% and the battery will not charge.
I have performed a start-up battery test and the result displayed on the start-up screen is:
    Battery Check: Primary-OK (1)
The result from the HP Battery Check from the Desktop Screen says:
    Status: OK (0)
    Charge Capacity: 97%
This screen also says that the battery is:
    Charged (97%)
    Current: 0mA
    Full Charge Capacity: 5458mAh
    Remaining Capacity: 5319mAh
    Failure ID: OK
There is also one other interesting thing about this laptop:
When HP Searches for Drivers for my laptopr, the driver detection program detects that I have an HP ENVY dv6-7398ca, not a dv6t-7300 QUAD like it states under the battery compartment.
I have had this laptop since abour June 20, 2013 and I believe the warrenty is still good on the parts.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix these problems, I would greatly appreciate it.  Thank you.

    bump? no help?

  • Battery Draining Problem.. !!

Hey Guyz, i mhaving problem with my xperia z1 battery.....it drains very fast....last night i did a format to my phone nd on 100 % battery remaining time was 2 days nd 8 hours remaining......but after installing some apps now on 100% battery remaining time is 18 hours.....
what is the problem......i checked in the battery usage...here is the picture
Battery is 100% stamina mode is on....still just 19 hours.....u can have a look on battery usage too

I see that you have poor signal.. If you have enable WCDMA or LTE mode you can switch to GSM only because the signal is better and there is a limited coverage for 3G, 4G, H+  networks (depending on your area) and your phone use more power to search that kind of networks, If you don't use mobile data often you can switch  from WCDMA to GSM only. (A little compromise between internet speed and batery life)
I disable WIFI, Bluetooth, Location services, set Keep WIFI on during sleep to "never" , Scanning always available off, stamina always on. I also try to keep off background services like auto sync. I don't like wasting battery power with automatic synchronisations because i consider that  I'm not so lazy to manual sync accounts when i need it.
This estimates my battery to  almost 2 days and 10 in standby mode. It also depends of usage history you have to future battery time predictions.
PS: Also avoid draining the battery to 0 because it affects the overall life of the cells. it is optimal to charge the battery in the interval of 10 -  20 %

  • I bought iphone just 10 days back and I update OS 4.3.3 as apple said, after that I am facing a battery drain problem and also it turn off automatically while I was talking on phone with friends and family. I  noticed 6 times. look like apple phone *****

I just bought apple i phone 4 10 days back from AT &T Retail outlet, then I set up account on itune and i saw to update the software version and i did it to 4.3.3, after that I am facing  two problem 1) Battery is draining like water and 2) while I was talking on phone with family and friends It turn off automatically, Initially I thought I might made some mistake but afterward I noticed that It happen again and again without I touch anything on screen or at phone. I guess Apple suppose to do something and help the customers, anyway but I am still under 30 days warranty period I am going to return it back and I guess may be there are lot of other options available comparing iphone4. but Lets wait what kind of solutions apple bring to me.

Do you have a question or are you just here to rant?
No matter what the product, there will always be some off the line that are defective. It's a fact of life.
The phone has a 1 year Warranty, not 30 days. I'm sure they'll be happy to replace it for you.
Now, that said, have you bothered to sync the phone to make sure you don't have to come back whining because you got your phone replaced and now you can't find your stuff?

  • Is iCloud causing battery draining problems?

I have been using my iPhone4 and my iPad2 flawlessly with my mobileme account for as long as it came out. The other day when I upgraded to Lion and started using iCloud, my batteries on all my devices including my MacbookPro have been draining RAPIDLY. I changed a bunch of settings on both the iPhone4 and iPad2, but nothing seems to be working. Even the battery on my Macbook is showing 96% and I haven't unplugged it in DAYS! It seems as though something is draining the battery life in all of my devices and the only thing I think it can be is the iCloud. I have been reading a bunch of topics on this and many people seem to be having the same problem. OH HOW I WISH I COULD GO BACK TO mobileMe!!!!! Why did I ever upgrade?  Anyone know when apple will be coming out with a fix for this?

Is this problem related ot the 5G ipod?

  • Nokia e72 battery draining problem

Ive been having this problem for over 3 months now. It all started one day when I normally charged my phone and when i took it off, it was extremely hot. After that, whenever i fully charge the phone, it would barely stay on for 15 minutes. I do not use it at all, when I do, the battery goes from fully charged to one bar and then battery empty. I have tried everything, changing the battery, changing the chargers, charging from both of the places (mini usb and the small pin). Any suggestions?

If your phone doesn't have the latest Firmware, update it thru' Nokia Suite . Keep the charger connected if and when you do it so that the phone doesn't switch OFF during the process because of the problem in subject. Also keep in mind that the phone will switch OFF and ON on its own during the update so don't worry and do not use or disconnect the phone till the update is over.
If problem remains, you need to get the device checked by a Nokia Care technician for any Harware issues..
