EOI benefits on ESS

Hi All,
I am able to enroll an employee into a Benefit Plan from ESS but i am not able to see the EOI screen which has been setup for benefits on the R/3 system.
The EOI works perfectly on the back end but when i try to enroll an employee into a benefit plan requiring EOI i just get the error "Critical Error: Contact System Admin".
Can someone please help me with this and also what kind of config i would be looking at to check these settings for EOI for portals.

What you suggest I should do now,  My apprehension was right, and you have confirmed it too.  Now, can I devlop a form and provide its link on ESS page so that user can submit their claims.  But here I will have to link the form with the IT 9201 wwhere in the Benefits plans are maintained.
There is same problem with other also.  Like Travel Management is not maintained, but IT 0017 is maintained.  Now the user have a Travel Manager form, and they want that the access of this form on ESS, so that staff can maintained their expenses.  This form is being called by T-pr05.  Can I link T-code on ESS.

  • Benefits in ESS Portal

    Good Morinng,
    I am consultant of Employee Self-Service and Manager Self-Service I have that configure Benefits in the portal ESS.
    Other consultant is doing the setting in the system backend for this module.

  • Benefits on ESS

    Dear All,
    If the Benefits InfoTypes are not maintained instead a cutomized InfoType is being used, then in this tyoe of Scenario can the features of ESS with respect to Benefits can be done ?. 
    If so then please suggest What I need to do.

  • US employee getting error in ESS when accessing 'view my benefits'

    Hello All,
    We are facing a problem with Benefits on ESS.  An employee was divorced so he removed his spouse from benefits coverage.  Infotype 21, subtype 1 (spouse) record was delimited as of 4/30/2011 and infotype 21, subtype 10 (ex spouse) was created effective 5/1/2011.  New infotype 167 records were created effective 5/1/2011 and the spouse was not covered.
    Now the employee is getting an error when trying to access the 'view my benefits' app.  The first line indicates a problem determining the infotype 21, subtype 1.  If I extended the infotype 21, subtype 1 record to the end of time (instead of being delimited), it resolved the error.  However, we don't want that record to be valid to the end of time because then the system allows the 'spouse' to be convered by the employee's insurance even though they are divorced.
    Further, this issue is being faced only for this employee. I have checked all the settings and have found nothing different.
    The Error on the portal is as:
    "A critical error has occured. Processing of the service has been terminated. Unsaved data has been lost.
    Please contact your system administrator.
    Details cannot be determined for related person 1/ "

  • Image on participation view for benefits

    Dear Experts-
    In the participation view for benefits in ESS. The arrow image next to show benefits general links is not displayed. It is displayed a X mark implyign the image  not accessible or something. has anyone seen such issue before ? Please let know what canbe done to have image show up there. We are not customizing any java code.

    By any chance do you happen to know the name of the resource. I will look and see if they matches participation overview image.
    Also, When I click on participation. I am already in iview. Is that mean this image is in generated via code as opposed too hope page framework?

  • Adding general and specific links on Benefits plans in ESS

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to provide general and specific links to each benefit plan in ESS. SAP provides a IMG customization for this: spro>Personal Management>Benefits>Employee Self-Service>Define URLs.
    I need to enter the URL parameters here. I have a doubt here. what should I give the path of a URL. Can i create a BSP application (a HTML file containing the description about the plan) and provide the path of the link in URL path?
    What should I do if I want to display the description of each plan in a PDF file and provide a link to that PDF on ESS?

    Quite simply....the URL link is exactly that....the link as it would appear in your browser. Typically, for general informtion about plan types, you would have something like "http://intranet.myCompany.com/benefits_us.html" and then for the plans themselves, it might be the link to the actual company's web site like "http://www.DocInABox.com".
    The links can be to whatever...a web site, a PDF file, a Word document, etc.....as long as it can be reached via a URL. Since the "context" of the information will be fairly static, just throwing together a simple web page is usually the easiest method (and it allows for easy maintenance since HR folks will often want changes....not to mention the marketing people too!).
    As far as how/where to store the internal content, that will depend on your own company's policies. It could be some content server or web server out on your network or you could even store the files/pages/content in KM and reference them from there. The sky is the limit.

  • Custom subtype not visible in ESS benefits

    Hi Experts,
    in erp2005, i created a custom subtype 9B for IT0021 (family members). defined a use case to maintain records through ESS personal information workset. so, a new button with name beneficiaries is seen on portal. however, these beneficiaries are not visible when employee wants to add them in the benefits plans as a beneficiary in certain plans. in the backend system, they are visible however. they can be added to a plan.

  • ESS Benefits Generic Enrollment - Different behavior backend v/s portal

    We are using the ESS Benefits generic enrollment service for enrollment kicking off the adjustment reasons on IT 0378.
    Here is the configuration set up, trying to simplify to explain the matter. We are on ECC 6.0 with EHP2.
    1.  Configured one plan type in savings category.
    2.  Within this plan type,  configured 2 plans.
    3.  Configured all other related configuration to set up the 2 plans.
    4. Configured the adjustment reason and the appropriate plan type created in step 2.
    5.  Created the required adjustment reason on 378.
    In HRBEN0001 transaction via backendwe can  see the 2 plans configured within the plan type.
    But when Trying to enroll from ESS - only one plan can be seen for that plan type, the other plan is not shown at all.
    OK - eventually, debugged and found this piece of code in FM HR_BEN_ESS_FILL_SELECTION_DISP.  The 2 different plans are there until this piece of code takes one of them Off...

    This FM is called only for ESS application and not for backed program.

    Thanks for your reply. Yes ESS has its own FMs.  The UI, user exits, BADIs etc are different for backend v/s front end.
    What we are not clear with, is the different behavior in core functionality --  i.e. When the adjustment reason is processed from the backend using HRBEN0001 - The 2 plans within the Plan Type are available for elections. BUT the same adjustment reason for the same penr when processed from  ESS - there is just one plan available for elections.
    It's clear from the code, that it is deleting one plan and this code is within the FM which is called only from ESS.  But we are still not sure why it should behave differently i.e. 2 plans via backend v/s one plan  via ESS. 
    Wanted to see if anyone can share any information if they have a similar benefits set up .. 2 plans within one plan type FOR savings plan category and then having a adjustment reason set up.

    This is regarding a SAP HR implementation for US.
    Open Enrollment Service is giving a dump with error
    u201CNo Correct Adjustment Reason Specifiedu201D.
    Following has been checked, still unable to view it in ESS.
    u2022     Employees are configured for running Open Enrollment for employees.
    u2022     Employees are assigned to appropriate PA and PSA. Country grouping for both the employees is USA: 10.
    u2022     Maintained appropriate data in Infotype 0171(General Benefits Information). Correct benefit program grouping is done for both employees ie maintained first and second program grouping for both employees.
    u2022     Maintained Benefit Adjustment Reasons for both the employee i.e. Infotype 0378(Adjustment Reason Data).
    u2022     Maintained Open Enrollment Offer for employees between 09.13.2008 and 10.13.2008. (MM/DD/YYYY).
    u2022     Program HRBEN001 is running correctly in backend. Both employees are able to choose different benefit plans during the open enrollment period.
    u2022     User  is having SAP_ALL authorizations.
    u2022     Resources and Services are correctly defined and linked in the backend.
    u2022     HR_BEN_ESS_RFC_ENRO_REASONS is a SAP defined function module to fetch benefit data from Benefit module and post it to ESS internal tables. Testing it in the background using transaction se37 gives correct results in the backend. It is displaying Open Enrollment as one of the Benefit Reasons.
    Kindly help with any pointers at the earliest.

    the issue got fixed, by changing the order of Payment above the Benefits
    1. i made some options to be disabled & enabled in both benefits and payment
    2. Then in the portal i could see the benefits and payment
    3. inside the benefits & payment i was able to see two option 1 is for benefits & other is for payment
    4. we only wanted payment functionality to be displaying
    5. so i tried to hide the benefits then noting was getting displayed in the portal
    6. finally i changed the order of the payment just above the benefits
    then then i was able to see the benefits and payment inside that i was able to see the payment where i was able to see the payslip
    i am not sure what i have done but i is working but please let me know what the problem was actually

    Typically, EEs are not allowed to enter a start date for benefits coverage. The start date usually depends on the type of enrollment.
    If it is a new hire enrollment - the start date for benefits coverage will be the employee start date.
    If it is open enrollment - the start date for benefits coverage will be the beginning of the following year (open enrollment is done usually towards the end of the current year - for benefits coverages of the following year)
    If it is a generic enrollment (for example - birth of a new child) - the start date will be the beginning date of the corresponding adjustment reason (IT0378 record start date).

    This is a generic screen used for all the plans and hence it shows ZERO amount. You may choose to customize the code if you want to.
    3) We need to relabel some of these plans we set up for HSA - how can we do that?
    This can be done by changing the corresponding texts in the benefits configuration. The webdynpro application reads it from there.
