EOS 6D-images won't upload to MAC. Error reads file unrecognizable format.

This is my third Canon EOS camera on the same MAC OS x 10.6.8 desktop.  Have not experienced any trouble uploading images into iPhoto before.  My new camera is a 6D.  I formatted the memory card in the camera.  I even thought it was a bad card & bought a new one, only to receive the same error.  The error says the file is in an unrecognizable format.  It is only images taken on the 6D.  I tried importing directly from the camera via a usb cord & by using a card reader.  I was successfully able to upload images from my 5D Mark III.  Any ideas why I can't import the images from the 6D?
Thanks!

  • Photoshop jpeg images won't upload in Constant Contact

I downloaded the free trial of Constant Contact and have been attempting to make a newsletter using jpeg images. The software gives me the following message when I try to upload images to the library:
"Your image contains an unknown image file encoding. The file encoding type is not recognized, please use a different image."
The reason I am posting the question on the Adobe forum is I have noticed that this only happens with jpegs created from my Photoshop CS2. I can take any image off the net, save it, and upload it with no problem. The same goes for images taken with a digital camera. But if it is anything I have created or manipulated in Photoshop and saved as a jpeg, it won't upload. Has anyone experienced any conflicts with Ps and Constant Contact?

As soon as you said that, it clicked. The jpegs I have been saving were originally developed for print, so they were CMYK. I saved them as RGB. They now work perfectly. Thanks for jogging my brain.

  • Converting PDF forms from Acrobat to reader, Images won't upload?

    Hello,
I've created an editable PDF form in Acrobat and saved it so that the document can be populated in Reader and saved. Only problem is that the functionality to upload an image is not working, you click on it in Reader and nothing happens? I understand that LiveCycle Designer is the one to use, but it only works on Windows, I'm a Mac. Is there a way of saving the PDF in Acrobat Pro so that both the editable text fields and image upload functionality work in Reader?
    Thanks

  • FTP problem - won't upload because no old remote file

I've used Dreamweaver for years and never run into this, but
I recently installed Dreamweaver MX on a new laptop and keep having
this problem. Sometimes - not always - when I create a new page or
introduce a new graphic on an existing page, the new item will not
upload. The error message I get is:
----The file "filename" was skipped because the old remote
    file could not be deleted.---
Of course the old file can't be deleted - there isn't one.
Anyone ever run into this? Is there some setting I need to
change? Do I have to reinstall? I should add that Check-In,
Check-Out IS enabled because I have Contribute users using this
    site.

here's an odd possible that may or may not apply-
I use linux/apache hosts, and one of them is set up with the
    standard top
level private directory, and the site files go into the
    "public_html"
folder. there is also a symbolic link (alias) named "www"
    that is linked to
    the public_html folder.
If i put www into the host directory line of the site
    definition, i could
upload files, but not overwrite or delete them. Putting the
    actual folder
name instead of the symbolic link in, public_html , solved
    this.

  • User Uploaded Image won't display on Mac OSX

I am experiencing something very strange with user uploaded
images on Mac OSX, latest Debug Flash Player 9, Safari and Firefox
    2. Everything works fine on Windows (XP and Vista) on all major
    browsers.
A user selects a local image to upload. The file gets
uploaded to server, resampled, saved to a public location, and a
response is sent back to the Flash Player in the form of a JSON
object. The response contains the URL to the uploaded image on the
server. The Flash Player downloads the image and adds the Loader to
a sprite that is already on the stage. All appropriate events are
fired. The progress events show that the image is downloading, and
the complete and init events are both fired. Using the Charles Web
debugging Proxy I can verify that everything is working correctly
(upload and download), and no security violations are occuring.
Charles even shows the actual image that gets downloaded. However,
on Mac, the image doesn't display (stays blank, as if it's an empty
sprite), whereas on PC/Windows the image displays fine.
I have placed a crossdomain file in the appropriate location
    - even though it is never requested as I don't try to do anything
    with the image's bitmap data.
Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to create a new project
to test this out in, but will do as soon as I can, and post a link.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks,
    Shaun.

We had a similar problem, maybe it is related to this (it was
done in as2, but the real problem was outside flash)
flash took an enormous time to display thumbs for a gallery
of images.. and directly in ff on osx, the thumb (about 100x100 px)
would load only half way.. and again wait for about half a minute
or more.. and then display. In flash the thumb would remain blank
until the loading was over.. that is for about half a minute or
    more.
What this turned out to be, was that the php script on the
server somehow returned header information that the image had the
dimensions of the full-sized image. So after all the data for the
thumb downloaded, the client (browser or flash) would just wait
    until a predefined timeout..
Since you are resizing uploaded images I thought this could
be one of the possible reasons, maybe the flash player for osx and
for windows handle such "missing data" cases differently.

  • I'm trying to upload pictures from iphoto to stores such as walmart or costco for prints. the images won't upload to these sites. i'm new to mac so i know i'm missing a step somewhere.

i'm not able to upload pictures from iphoto to stores such as walmart or costco to order prints. the images just won't load. does anyone know what i'm doing wrong??

Well, since there is no function to export from iPhoto to these sites directly, here is a simple way how you can try it:
    - create a folder on your desktop
    - name it like "WalMart pics"
    - open iPhoto
    - resize it so you can still see the folder you just created
    - select the pictures you want to send to the store in iPhoto and drag them onto the new folder
The folder now contains the pics you selected. Now go to the stores' websites and upload the pictures from that folder.
You might also use the "Share" option in iPhoto to get the photos into a folder, but I like the direct drag and drop better.

  • New versions of images won't upload properly

I am having trouble uploading new versions of images with the
same file name, and I cannot figure out why.
    http://obviate.us/catalog/index.php
You can see the corners of the blue side bar headers do not
match the color of the rest of the header. I changed the color of
the headers in my CSS file, and the corners are GIFs.
I changed the colors of the corners in Photoshop to match the
headers and saved them with the same file name.
I tried saving the GIFs as both RGB and Indexed Color (what
they started out as) after editing.
I made sure they were in the correct folder.
However, when I upload the edited GIFs, the image doesn't
change to the new one when I reload the page.
I've been able to edit these very images before with no
    problems.
any ideas as to why this may be happening?

Are you sure you saved the new images in this directory:
    http://obviate.us/catalog/images/infobox/?
That is where the images are
located. Try and delete the old images ON the server, and
    then move the new
    images back.

  • Images won't upload and a lot of sites are not coming up correctly or at all

I have been having issues for a couple of weeks uploading images to Facebook as well as other sites that I use for business, like CreateSpace. Two days ago I discovered a website that will not come up at all on FF, tpgoffice.com. I prefer FF as I am a web designer. I have been forced to use the dreaded IE many times over the last month though.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • FTP works in site Mgr but won't upload DW8 Mac

    Hi,
I've just read through several pages of ftp-related posts and
have not found the exact problem I'm having. Nothing has changed
recently on my Mac, but Dreamweaver will not connect to the host to
upload files. The "test" in the Sites dialog box works fine, but I
am getting an error when I try to upload through any method: save
to remote server, preview in browser, "put"--nothing works and I
    get this message:
An FTP error occurred. Cannot make connection the the host.

Since everything works in the test and also in Fetch, I am
stumped. I have updated to 8.2, but only after the problem began.
    I'd appreciate any help.
    Thanks!

First make sure the passive FTP box is checked in your FTP
settings. If it is and this problem exists, continue below to trash
    the preferences file:
What you will need to do is go into your user account, then
into the Library folder and then into the Preferences folder. Do a
quick search (because there are so many files) for dreamweaver and
you should find a .plist file. Delete that.
The next time you start up DW it may take a little longer
than normal because OS X will have to build a new preferences file.
Then try again and see if that solves the problem.

  • Reader won't open docs. mac. error message.

Reader won't open any docs.  Error message "Adobe Reader could not open (file name) because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged . . . ."  Mac system 10.7.5.

Ok, it's probably how you save the files.
DON'T use Save from the File menu in Safari
DON'T use any save icon in a safari toolbar
    Use only
    1. Right/ctrl click on a link to a PDF BEFORE showing it, save from the pop-up menu (no good if the PDF comes from a button, and in some other cases)
    2. Hover to get the ADOBE toolbar and save from that.

  • Video cameras not uploading to Mac, can I change recording format?

    Hi all,
I'm a film teacher at a secondary school where I started a few months ago. I have a classroom of desktop Macs (I don't know the specifics right now as I'm not in work) and a range of panasonic, sony and flipcams.
Recently I cannot read the files from the cameras on the desktop Macs or either of my Macbooks. All the cameras are saving to the .MTS format which I'm aware is not readable on Macs.
While I know I can convert these files myself, bring the cameras home and converting each one, then bringing them back to school and transferring them to the Macs would be a nightmare when I have 30 students making films.
I know from previous classes that these cameras used to upload to the Macs as I have seen the evidence. Is there a way to format the cameras so they will record in a different file extension? I can't believe the previous teacher used to convert every file, especially considering the Macs were bought for the sole purpose of editing.
Any help would be amazing as I'm starting to lose my mind!
    Thanks,
    Clare

I used to use the free "Media Converter" to convert .mts to .mov  when I was using iMovie 9.0.4 with Snow Leopard.  You can convert multiple clips at a time.  You can download it from:
    http://media-converter.sourceforge.net
You also need to instal the Re-wrap AVCHD for Quicktime - uncompressed Audio preset from:
    http://media-converter.sourceforge.net/presets.html
iMovie 10 (which requires Mavericks), can read .mts files directly.
    Geoff.

  • I get this error when PS6 update finishes on my Mac: Error log file location: /Library/Logs/Adobe/In

So it goes with the update download and set up then the error. This is through the Adobe App Manager. I purchased a Cloud Sub 2 days ago. I've tried 10 times now and still the same error. This is frustrating for sure.
    Ara

Did you ever find a solution? I am in sort of the same boat. I even had an Adobe rep try to help me. For some reason my Adobe App Manager does not work on my Macbook. It orginally did but one day it just would not launch. After numerous attempts of uninstalling and re-installing without success, the only workaround solution was to create another user on my Macbook and install the Application Manager on that user's account. I can then download the apps / programs and updates from there. When I log out of that user and back into my main account the Adobe programs work....well most of them. I have noticed that certain programs, like Muse will launch and work correctly under my second user account but it will not luanch without error on the main account.
The fact that no one at Adobe seems to be able to provide a solution is frustraing. Everything worked fine one day, then its all messed up. Switching users is not an ideal solution at all.

  • GoDaddy won't work in Mac Mail

    Hi guys,
mac Mail is doing my head in!!! I launched a website for my business using GoDaddy as my hosting and I'm trying to add my account to mail but nothing works. I've been on the phone to godly and they went through all possible solutions and came to the conclusion its an apple problem. They said apple mail might have a specific port that I need to use for an external client or something like that? Anyone got any help? I can;t get a hold of anyone from apple, their support is useless unless you pay for it!!

I posted this problem a couple of days ago. I have 50 or more groups, some with several hundreds of names & these groups no longer import. I have gone to apple genius bar & they are clueless. Apparently apple opted to make maverick work for gmail but now it won't work for mac mail.

  • Has anyone had the error "The file could not be read due to an error" when selecting ignore or replace image links. The linked images are in Dropbox if that helps.

I am working on a Mac 10.9.5 with Adobe CS6. My files are locally in Dropbox but once we moved files to network and tried opening the AI - the file would not recognize the original folder location. I tried ignoring the missing images but then I receive the error - The file could not be read due to an error." The same error happens when I try replacing the first missing image. I know the problem lies in the images are linked back to my Dropbox but the AI file doesn't care since it won't let me replace or ignore the image links.

    Jasion,
Maybe a bit beside the question, but it is always recommended here to open/save from/to own hard disk, and to copy from/to networks and removable media. You may be lucky, at least for a while, but it is better to be safe than sorry.
In addition to the (far greater) risk of file corruption, some issues are mentioned here:
