EOS 6D problems

After completion of the file transfer by both the cable as WiFi
LCD turns off after disconnecting the USB cable / disconnect WiFi in the new EOS 6D.Fault takes several hours and the screen is working correctly during setup of the camera. Although you can change settings
the camera when you press the Q button but when you press all the other (the trigger
shutter, AF, ISO, choice sensor, the measurement of light) and use the dial setting turns off the LCD screen.
Immediately after disconnecting the USB cable, I managed to do two almost black pictures though
the normal lighting outside. An error Er 01  also appears .
Connection with the lens contacts are definitely clean-care. In accordance with
suggestion of Canon updated the firmware support to version 1.14-without improvement.
Is there something I should still pay attention to the settings of the camera, PC? What
may be the cause of this phenomenon-a problem with the LCD screen. The body is new
and never fell down. EF 24-85, EF 70-200 f4.

Sorry, it is difficult to understand your post, so I'm not sure exactly what you're asking.  I assume that you're using an online translator.  You may have to ask your questions again.
Er 01, as I think you know, means that the camera is not communicating with the lens.  Does it do this for both your lenses?
You said the the LCD was black.  Is the camera on (does the top LCD work, or can you see the display in the viewfinder)?  If so, did you push the "Info" button?  If none of the camera turns on it might be something as simple as the battery case is partly open (the camera will not turn on if the battery case isn't closed).

  • Eos Utility problem

Hi to all,I have a problem with the Eos Utility Software.I have the OS Windows 8, and I installed the last version of EOS Uility 2.12 compatibility with the new OS.When I connect my EOS 5D MKIII or the 7D the EOS Utility not recognized the camera. The drivers are installed , all the others programs works fine with the cameras.Someone have a suggestion ?

I've had no success with two Win8 systems.  The drivers appear to be installed correctly, the camera shows up in the device manager under "portable devices" and via Windows explorer I can transfer files as if it was a flash drive.  Is this where it should appear in the device manager tree?   I have uninstalled / reinstalled all Canon applications and still EOS utility does not recognize the camera.  I'm a software developer, have written drivers etc for Windows, but I have no way to know why EOSuitility cannot see the driver.  As I mentioned above, the original developers in your company need to investigate since they do have the tools to figure out what's going on.  if you're successful in getting any of these people going, I do hope you'll post the method here. Here are several other threads you should read, which illustrates how widespread the problem is. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3292003#forum-post-50161819 http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php?topic=10820.0 http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1227392 http://maxbarrass.blogspot.com/2012/08/windows-8-and-canon-eos.html http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1156582

  • DPP and EOS Capture problems

Hi. Im new here and I have a problem. The problem doesn´t involve Aperture but I thought that this might be the area to find a guru to help me. If anyone know a better forum to post this question in I´d be happy to know where.
    I use DPP 2.0.3 and EOS capture 1.5.0.8 on a Powerbook 17" G4 1,67 1GB. The camera are 1Ds Mark II.
The problem are that after som pictures taken with EOS Capture everything gets very slow. Everything works, all the pictures end up in the powerbook but it takes a long while.
I had a 12" before and did not have this problem. But that one didn´t run in tiger.
Are Tiger and EOS Capture a bad combo?
    Regards/Johan

    Hi all, just got in.
The card in my camera is a Lexar 1000x and a Sandisk card, both 32g.
The files (raw images) are fine when I veiw them in ACDsee Pro
And when I bring them into Photoshop, they are fine as well.
The only problem I have, is with the EOS utility, and DPP.
I normally process all my image in Photoshop CS6 and don't use DPP.
I was interested in the new interface for DPP so downloaded it and when I opened it up.... well the image posted is what all jpg, raw, tiff and everything else looks like in DPP.
Not sure what the problem is.
    Any other suggestions?
Oh and I did recently reformat the Lexar card as I got a err while doing some night photography. I reformated it in the Lexar USB 3 card reader, then in the camera. Still the same problem with EOS utiility quick viewer.
Some of the recent photos on my Flickr stream are images all taken recently with the Lexar 1000x card.

  • Eos Utility Problems Canon 6D

I have posted on this subject before, I cannot get the Eos Utility to work on my Windows 8.1 Desktop Computer, in the last two months I have had a new setup, previously I have managed to get it working on 8.1 on the old one, I have downloaded the latest version but it will not work using wi-fi (that's another issue) or USB, I do not get an icon on the task bar so I cannot download any of my new photos, the other thing is that when connected via USB the camera should show in Windows Explorer I think that Canon's utility program is a pigs breakfast, as for Wi-Fi nothing I do will persuade the camera to connect via Wi-Fi although I can get it to connect to my iPad, anybody who can help me reduce my blood pressure, bring it on

Though it wasn't previously installed, I did install the latest downloadable EOS Utility for my Canon 5D Mark II. I am running Windows 8.1 64-bit.
I don't have any difficulty having the utility recognize my camera when teathered by USB.
Generally speaking, when you have confirmed that the USB ports are visible in the Device Manager window, are able to connect other devices but not the camera, and have eliminated obvious problems such as a defective USB cable, then the problem is almost certainly a driver problem.
Canon advises that no drivers are available, or needed beyond what Windows offers, for the computer to recognize your camera. Clearly this isn't working.  I would suggest you attempt to repair your copy of Windows 8.1 either by going to control panel and selecting troubleshooting > configure a device or you attempt to reinstall from your original Windows 8.1 DVD and select repair on startup.
    Good luck.
Note: If your camera goes to sleep while teathered to your computer you may need to cycle the power to have it recognized within the EOS Utility.

  • EOS Utility not working with Windows 10

Hi all,   I just upgraded to Windows 10, and immediatly ran into the problem that is described in this thread about Windows 8: http://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Software/Eos-Utility-problem/td-p/1189 After reading that thread I decided to unplug the other USB devices I had in the computer at the time (Garmin Watch, USB key, smart phone) and turn off the camera.  I then turned on the camera and ran the EOS utility and it found my camera and worked correctly. Clearly this problem is still not resolved, but that simple work-around gets me downloading my pictures again.  There are a lot of other things people tried in the above thread, but I just unplugged the USB devices and was good to go.

Well......your option works... but i found another solution, bit of searching but it works.Through the startup folder of windows the eos utility will auto start when starting windows.but if you edit the shortcut in the startup folder to start "eos utility 2" (leave the rest of the shortcut in place) it will bring up the utility apparently in a different mode (or another version of it ) that will recognize the camera as soon as you conect it (and switch it on ) have not yey found out how to start it in the system tray but will keep looking

    Hi
I have a problem with color prints from photoshop elements 12. The pictures are too light and with strange colors. I have a Canon pixma mg615I0 printer and use mac os X yosemite. The pictures are taken with a coanon eos 550d in the color space sRGB. I have followed adobes recommendations and have tried both letting the printer respektive photoshop manage the colors. But nothing works. I see that there are different opinions about which is best to do so I tried both. I have the latest printer driver installed. Can anyone help me with this?

    Do the following:
Print a test page from the printer. Perhaps the print head needs cleaning via its maintenance facility.
Let the printer manage colors, not PSE
    Calibrate the monitor

  • Has anyone had a problem with memory cards switching the file from EOS to EKS?

My camera memory cards have suddenly switched from an EOS file to an EKS file and are no longer readable.  I don't know if the problem is my computer, my card reader, my memory cards, or my camera.  It doesn't seem probable that two cards would become corrupted or go bad at the same time.  I have two large capacity cards and two new high capacity cards that I haven't tried yet, but I'm afraid to try to use any of my other cards until I know what is going on with these two.   The camera I'm using a 5D Mark II.  Can anyone please help!   This is a serious problem for me!
Thank you to everyone for your help and assistance!
    Best regards,
    Windsails

Lightroom should recognize your camera (assume it's LR3 or later) automatically without pointing it to the DCIM directory. The files you are referring to is system file I think and not the photos; thus OS cannot read the file.
Do you have a card reader? For some reason, if you connect your camera into Lightroom directly, sometimes LR doesn't show the preview of your images. Instead you'll get ? next to a gray box. If you don't have a card reader, just plug your camera in, ignore the ? and the gray box (this is LR problem, not your camera), then import them anyway. You should see your test shot once it's done importing.

  • IPhoto/Cannon EOS problem

iPhoto 9.51 on MacBookPro Maverick interfering with Cannon EOS photography software. Camera is disconnected. Following brief use of iPhoto (not normally used) this morning. Anyone else had this problem?

Did you ever get a solution to this one? I'm having the same problem now, October 3rd. I have no idea what it means or what to do, if anything, about it. If it's a MobileMe server problem, is waiting the only recourse? And any idea on how long one has to wait?
Seems to me if there's no way to tell Apple about the problem, how would they ever think to fix it? I don't want to overwhelm them. But if they don't know people like us are having a problem, how would they know to fix it?
    Help?

  • Raw file rendering problems with Canon EOS 5D in Aperture 3

Since upgrading to Aperture 3, I have had serious problems with the rendering of Canon EOS 5D (not Mark II/III) RAW files. With Aperture 2, both the preview and full-sized images looked basically the same as the original images as displayed on the camera's display, without any adjustments.
With Aperture 3, each preview images initially look fine after import, but when Aperture re-renders it from the RAW file (e.g. when displaying the full-size image), the colors are drastically intensified, and the hue is shifted generally towards green/blue. I've checked the RAW Fine Tuning, and it is set to the defaults. If I turn the default RAW Fine Tuning settings all the way down, the image is still not at all like the preview from the camera - it becomes much darker and stays too blue/green, with washed-out colors.
A friend with a Canon EOS 5D MkII also recently upgraded her Mac from Aperture 2 to 3, and hasn't experienced any problems. We've tried importing RAW files from my (non-MkII) camera to her Mac (with the default RAW Fine Tuning settings), and get the same results as with my own Mac (i.e. strange colors), so the problem seems to be related to the camera model.
I've also noticed that scanned greyscale tiff images (including images that were originally imported under Aperture 2) are changed when first displayed by Aperture 3 - they become darker and more contrasty, with lots of information lost in the shadow areas.
I've also tried removing Aperture preferences, Aperture itself, and re-installing from download, with no change in the problem. (Aperture is the current latest version, 3.3.2.)
    Has anyone experienced similar problems?

    I'm having the same problem.
iMac running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 and Aperture 3.3.2.  Workflow is importing through Canon's DPP and then using referenced images in Aperture.  The images look great in LR4, or Canon's DPP but are flat and dingy in Aperture.
There's a free preset that goes part way to fixing it at http://theapertureblog.com/2011/02/10/my-aperture-workflow-for-working-with-cano n-5d-mark-ii-files/
but as good as this fix is, it doesn't quite do the trick. [not being a hater, and not saying I can do better]
    I just got back from shoooting 1,500 images with a 5DMii and a T2i using Canon 24-105L IS, 70-200 2.8L, 50 1.8 and a Sigma 120-400 and the T2i images are not just better, they're in a different league.
I've tried shooting in Faithful, Neutral and also toggling these presets in different ways and still can't get Aperture to match what I see on the camera's screen or in other Apps.  I love the interface and DB of Aperture, but what's the point of using it if it doesn't produce and awesome image in the end?

  • Problems loading RAW files from Canon EOS 70D

I've recently changed my camera from an EOS 500D to a 70D and now find that I can't open the RAW files even though my Photoshop says it's up-to-date when queried through Creative Cloud.  However, when I check the Camera RAW version used in PhotoShopCC 2014 it's 8.0.0.137.  I tried to find and download the recommended version 8.2 but all that gave me was provide me with a DNG converter, which didn't help.  I contacted Adobe chat line but part-way through lost the connection and I can't re-establish it again to complete the process their operative was taking me through.
Has anyone got any ideas about how to fix this?  By the way the files open fine in Lightroom 5.5.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, that was kind of you.
I managed to solve the problem by going to Adobe Labs and downloading and installing a beta version of Camera RAW 8.6, it works a treat.

  • EoS/EoL hardware report problem on LMS 3.2 RME 4.3.1

    Hi,
Trying to run EoS/EoL RME reports for the first time and having problems. I have applied latest patch for CSCte717641 and this seems to have made things a little better. Originally the hardware report simply failed, but now it seems to run, but never finish. To avoid any download problems, I have manually downloaded both the EOX_SOFTWARE.ZIP and the PSIRT_EOX_OFFLINE.txt, which I have placed into the "NMSRoot\rme\jobs\inventory\reports\EOX_PSIRT\local_xml" folder. The PSIRT file has been un-compressed and put in as .txt and the EOX file has been left as a .zip. Now the report starts running, I can see it creating a temp folder in the above folder and it seems to place two files in there eos_card and eos_device, but then it appears to delete the temp folder and the job just sits at running?
    Any advice would be appreciated

This is from the time I ran the report.

  • New adobe DNG converter and CS4 quality problems - EOS 7D

    Hi,
A friend of mine uses Adobe Photoshop CS2.
He plans to buy Canon EOS 7D or EOS 5D Mark II in the future but first we did some tests and conversions.
We found many problems and quality issues.
First Problem is that CS2 doesn't support Canon EOS 7D directly so user has to use DNG Converter to convert the EOS 7D file from .cr2 to a .dng.
When i use and test this, CS2 recognizes and opens .dng file correctly then i optimize sharpness, color etc etc in the photoshop and save the file from the file menu (Save AS) as .jpg file.
Adobe Photoshop CS2 fails to save exif data.
It just saves the camera model nothing else.
On the other hand if i use CS4 it saves all exif data (without dng):
    The next problem is quality.
If i use indentical settings in RAW converted between CS2 (dng) and CS4 (cr2) CS2 images look sharper and have more "per pixel sharpness" than CS4 raw images.
Here's a sample (raw file taken from dpreview.com) that i tested it using both raw converters:
So these are two problems that i don't like nor does my friend and i am asking you if you would fix that and why such hudge difference ?
As the CS4 is being the newest the best of all photoshop it should had better picture but in this case the older version has better picture and i don't see any logic in that.
So if user wants to go for better quality he/she will pick CS2 but have a disadvantage - Exif is not saved in the .jpg file.
I also think that if dpreview would have used CS2 instead of CS4 they would get much higher "per pixel sharpness" from Canon EOS 7D as they did now.
    Thanks.

If i use indentical settings in RAW converted between CS2 (dng) and CS4 (cr2) CS2 images look sharper and have more "per pixel sharpness" than CS4 raw images.
You can't use the exact same settings since the settings in ACR 3.x (Photoshop CS2) don't match up to ACR 5.x (Photoshop CS4).
Seriously, there was a major change in ACR 4 and then 5 that make comparing ACR 3.x and 5.x pretty pointless...
Fact is if you aren't getting optimal results from Camera Raw 5.x then you don't know how to use it...simple as that.
ACR 3.x had a very crude image sharpening process compared to either ACR 4.1 and above of any 5.x version.
Seriously, Photoshop CS2 and Camera Raw 3.x is way old tech...if you can't get better IQ from 5.x you are doing something wrong.

  • CANNON EOS 7D get message as "cannot connect with battery" What can i do to fix this problem?

when i turn on the camera  and its trying to read the battery the message i get is " cannot connect with battery"  i thought it was a defective battery and went out and bought a new one and still kept getting the same message.  what can i do ? Does anybody been through this situation from what i hear this is common on the CANNON EOS 7D models only why is that?

Yes! It is a factory defect and Canon should recall 7D and 60D for this problem in stead to charge $230 for their own quality issue. I have 7D and not using it that often, it shows the same error message. Cleaning can not fix it at all! It was the soldering bad point at the battery and the little circuit board next to it, based on an engineer who repaired it by himself. Canon pro's: If you guys are cate about the Name of Canon then take these cameras back and fix them for free! Otherwise, the customers will switch to Nikon soon.

  • EOS 70D - Mode Dial problem...

Hi ... I'm Patricio from Argentina.
One week ago I received from the U.S. a Canon EOS 70D.
    It worked ok until yesterday.
Since today, when I want to choose different modes with the dial mode, the camera just sets: P or A+ (auto).
    - If I select A+ mode (Auto mode) or "Disabling Flash mode" or "Manual mode" .... the camera sets as A+ (Auto mode).
    - If I select modes: CA, SCN, C, B, AV, TV, or P ... the camera sets as "P mode".
I have read some similar cases in other models of EOS cameras ... they recommen do a "hard reset" by removing the main battery and clock battery.
I tried to do that, but this model (EOS 70D) seems to have a battery for the date and clock ... but it is internal, It`s a rechargeable battery.
I guess as a new model, there is no more than the actual firmware, that comes from factory ... so I can`t try to update, since there is no other firmware available.
Anyone have any suggestions before taking it for service?
    Thanks!
you can see what's wrong with my 70D here: (the mode selected by the dial, it's not the same on the screen)

Have you tried powering off the camera, removing the battery, waiting a minute, re-inserting the battery, and powering it back on?
The on/off switch is really puts the camera into an extended power-saving sleep mode.  The camera still technically has power.  When you turn on the camera again, the camera really just wakes up -- it does NOT actually re-start or reload the firmware.
If, however, you remove the batteries from the camera, you (mostly) deprive it of power.  When you insert the battery and power it up it actually forces the camera to load the stored firmware again... you are in effect "rebooting" the camera when you do this -- the camera does not "reboot" simply by turning the power swtich off and on again.
I did say "mostly" deprive power when you remove the battery because there is a technicality.  Depending on the camera body, most cameras have a 2nd battery used to store settings and also maintiain the date/time clock.  That battery is either a removable coin size battery OR it's a built-in rechrageable battery which recharges off the regular battery.  If you store the camera without a battery for too long, it will prompt you for the date & time when it powers up -- but this means the internal battery was depleted of power.
I *think* your 70D has an internal rechargeable battery.  Simply leaving the batteries out over-night will not be enough.  Hopefully just re-started the firmware by ejecting and re-inserting the main battery will be enough to fix the problem.

in case with 60D RAWs ther was portrait, landscape, etc...
    2. The step wit installing the DNG converter I download the DNG converter 7.4, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3. - the reason is to add in the system camera profile that I want
every one of them do not install - just nothing happen after doubleclick (!?)
only one that  install and run it's 7.1 which dont support 70D RAW files....
