EOS 6D - Worth the toys or save up for 5d MKIII?

There are lots of things I like about the upcoming EOS 6D, but there are also a few things that I don't like so much.
I like:
Full frame
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi smartphone interface
GPS
HDR (maybe?)
I don't like:
Severe lack in AF points
Memory card lacking CF
97% Viewfinder
The price difference is the killer, but maybe it's worth it in the long run.
Is anyone planning to get the 6D, or specifically NOT going to get it for some reason?

I'd say no, save for the 5D3. The AF in 6D is very limited, it is in the continuity of 5D2 ie 5D1 ie 20D ...
Once you try the advanced AF like 1D or 5D3, you'll have real difficulties to go backward to a limited system.
My advice is to try it in real conditions before you buy, so you can feel the difference.

In general, you are correct - but also your server does need to be properly configured (and those errors above lead me to think it may not be) to serve the file types that your uploading - but it could be something else entirely. Can you zip up your composition folder, upload it to your Creative Cloud files, set it to share, and then post a link here so I can download it? If you'd rather not share it publicly, can you PM me with a link to your composition files?

Hi,
File gets created when rpd is in online mode.
When we open rpd in Online mode a dialogue box pops up saying “rpd is available in read-only” mode, Such cases to avoid this error we delete .log and .sav in repository directory and restart services.

Hi Carsten...good luck with your project.. I had just about as many Video8 & Hi8 tapes as
you that I digitized and eventually brought into FCPX..took me many months not weeks
to do so,BTW, as each tape was 60-90 minutes in lenght...and many hundreds of
gigab ytes of storage ( uncompressed AVI files)..it's tedious work unless you plan to farm
it out to a processing house...also regarding eventual storage format...remember
Hi8 is 400 lines or about 540X480 in todays resoultion metrics..you can't make hi-def out
of source that starts out as 400 lines...in my case I rewrapped the avi files into .mov
containers and imported the mov files into FCPX where I got rid of the hundreds of
minutes of Colorado mountain landscapes to get to that one minute shot of the kids
on horseback ( late 80's for most of my archives)..so its a job..scouring thru 30X90 min
of source to not miss those precious memories takes diligence and hard work but its worth
it; eventually I encode the uncompressed video I want to save in H.264 format Staandard

Honestly, from my understanding most international flights have plug in underneath the seats. You may consider asking the airline if this is an available amenity on your flight. It may save you the cost of an additional accessory.

Yes, precisely. The crash of "word of the day" cannot be related to the Lion upgrade. Some other issue must be at fault. And to clarify and be specific "Apple" did not say it was not supported but rather one person working in customer support said "word of the day" was not supported - and since some of us Lion users having the screen saver work and only just now failing, that one person at Apple seems to have made an error in guessing what the problem is. Why keep discussing this? Because "word of the day" is a useful screen saver in an educational setting and it is worth the effort to fix it and restore it as a screen saver option. Hoping there is a fix soon.

Is sacrificing 8 extra gigs worth the risk?

I have wanted an iPhone for a long time, but my family doesn't exactly have the money to be paying $200+ for a phone. So when I saw that the 8 gig iPhone 4 is now free with an upgrade, I got really excited. But a lot of people are saying that8 gigs isn't enough. I'm not a big app person - the most I'll want is a couple of games like fruit ninja and stuff; I have an iPod touch, so I won't be keeping all my music on my iPhone; and as far as media goes, I do love my ringtones and photos, but it's my understanding that 8 gigs isn't exactly a meager amount. So, advice from anyone? Is it worth the risk, or should I just try to save up the money for 16 gigs to be safe?

That's a good question elinder21. There's plenty of customers who get by quite comfortably with the 8 GB iPhone using what you've described. Most iTunes games are around 100 MB, normal length songs (about 4 minutes long) are only about 3 MB each, and most pictures taken on the iPhones are around 2 MB each. One gigabyte (GB) equals 1,024 megabyte (MB) of data, so 8 GB equals 8,192 MB of data. So the 8 GB iPhone can actually fit quite a bit onto it. Just remember, there is no way to increase the amount of memory available on the iPhones, but you can transfer files to your computer when you find yourself using more than expected. And if you frequently back up your information to your computer instead of leaving hundreds of pictures on your device at all times, there's a good chance the 8GB model will work well.

You tried what ? If the app is no longer available in the store (can you find it in the main part of the store ?) for re-downloading then you would need to have a copy of it somewhere e.g. on your computer's iTunes, on a backup of your downloads.

I need to change the user fields of the operation like (SLWID and USR00 )for a production order at the time of save.
So am using the exit PPCO0001 and using the OPERATION_TABLE internal table in the exit to chang the details.
I have done coding in the exit to change SLWID and USR00 in OPERATION_TABLE internal table, but its not updated in the database and the screen also. I dont understand why.
Please let me know, why the update are not happening.

Dave I'm glad to say that it works perfectly but I'm embarrassed to say that my 12 year old nephew hooked it up in about 10 minutes.
If you have the Kanex Mini DisplayPort cable it will work, what confused me was changing the display settings in System Preferences,
and dragging the mac screen from the mac onto the tv. Sorry I cant be more helpful but you have the right cable now you need a 12 year old nephew.

if you're not in a big rush - why not hold off until Adobe and Microsoft releases an update to support the Retina Screen.
Don't get me wrong - the Macbook Retina is a good and videos look great - but when it comes to Photoshop, it's a little blurry and the fonts in Excel and Word is pretty blurry too.....I own one....
In any event, if it's something you can live with - then by all means - go for it.....
Otherwise - get the non Retina Macbook Pro - it's cheaper, and it's user upgradeable in both RAM and Hard Drive.

I deleted my download folder and now I can't download anything. I can't select the folder to "save file to" and when I select "ask me where to save files" I still can't download. it says your file will start downloading, but then it doesn't. Help!!

I deleted the folder that saves everything that is downloaded from Firefox. After that I can't download anymore. I've tried clearing my download history, reset the download folder, reset the download action by renaming the mimetype.rdfs file and it's still not working. I've tried to choose a different download folder but it doesn't let me select any folder at all. If I select "ask me where to save files" and then try and download something, the download doesn't start after I select save to. The only time it does actually download is when I select "open with...windows mediaplayer" when downloading then the download will start. Please help. Thank you.

You broke your phone by getting it wet. Nothing more to say. Bring it in to Apple for an out of warranty exchange or buy a new phone. There's really nothing else we users here can help you with.

How can I get the "Open" and "Save As" dialog boxes to open at larger than their default size? I would like them to open at the size they were previously resized like they used to in previous operating systems. They currently open at a very small size and the first colum is only a few letters wide necessitating a resize practically every time one wants to use it. Any help would be appreciated.
