EOS 7D Mark II Raw not open at LR5!
Hi, sorry my english is not so good. I have pay a new Canon Eos 7D Mark ii. But LR5 have a Problem! She can not open the new Raw from my Camera. Please help me.
When you write me in German was better for me.
Thanks
At this time, Adobe software cannot use the RAW photos from this camera.
You'd have to open the photo in Canon software, then save as TIF, then use Lightroom.
It is expected that in the near future, Lightroom will be able to open these RAW files.

Images from Canon 7D mark 2 will not open in Photoshop CS6
Images from Canon 7D mark 2 will not open in Photoshop CS6
Hi Ferdinand12345,
Cannon 7D mark II has been included in the ACR 8.7. I would advise you to wait for the 8.7 camera raw to release.
In the meanwhile you can go to labs.adobe.com and download the 8.7 DNG converter and convert the files to DNG and then try to import.

Had to reinstall lion because of my error, but now a lot of apps. are showing up on my dock as question marks and will not open.
Ive gotten the question mark icon thing, and I just took them off the dock and redragged them onto the dock from the Applications folder again and they worked fine. Mine were a couple of game type programs nothing major yet. Just wanted to throw that out there though since I had that happen with a few dock icons.

•Canon EOS 5D Mark II Raw Files Won't Open?
I use PE 11 and normally shoot with Nikon cameras. I recently used a friend's Canon #EOS 5D Mark II and the Canon Raw files will not open. I found a Camera Raw plug-in (5.2) that addresses this but am concerned this plug-in will override the camera raw plug-in already installed to read my Nikon files. Is this a valid concern?
Thanks for your response. What I think the problem was had to do with a couple of corrupted files. The jpg versions displayed correctly but the raw files did nothing when they were selected. I deleted 4 files that would not display and then randomly selected another which did. All the remainder of 46 files display in PE. I might have a bad CF card on my hands even though it is new. I’ll send it to Lexar for examination.
Good to know the question forum works. Thanks. -
Canon 7d mark II raw files open error
Photoshop elements 12 will not open the canon 7d mark II raw files, from what I read elements are not going to upgrade there camera profiles anymore, so anything new your just out of luck? The support people have no clue.
Faq:
FAQ: Will Photoshop Elements work with my camera, or Why won't my raw files open?
more specifically:
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
in which you find that your camera requires the ACR 8.7 version
Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
in which you see that PSE12 can't, and that PS13 can with an update.
So what solution, since Adobe does not upgrade older versions? It's the free Adobe DNGconverter:
Use the latest version of the free DNG Converter (for Macintosh or Windows)
You can convert your files to the universaly compatible DNG format (the files will work with any version of the Camera Raw plug-in). See In depth : Digital Negative (DNG) for more information.
This standalone utility lets you batch convert whole folders of raw files to the DNG raw format that your PSE12 can read.

Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III RAW support PLEASE!
Seriously, the camera was announced in August 2007. 6 months have passed and Apple has failed to provide a RAW support update for this camera!
Why is this program targeted towards professionals if RAW support takes longer than a half a year?
If this goes on much longer, I might have to make the dreaded switch to Lightroom. And i truly do not want to do that.
Sorry, I am upset.Large Photographic software developers (of which I'd consider Apple, with its iPhoto and Aperture applications, to be part of the group) can get early access to preproduction copies these high end cameras so their RAW definitions can be nearly complete at camera rollout time.
This is a process problem that Apple has (batching RAW definition creation and distribution for all cameras, mostly all those digicams, with OS updates). Apple needs to see this (time delay) is a problem for their Pro application users and set up a new process to to fast-track DSLR RAW definitions (creation/distribution).
The E-3 has been waiting since its release in October as well.
Word is that the new Nikon Defs are in the OS X 10.5.2 update (according to beta testers), so the E-3 and Cannon EOS 1Ds Mark III is probably in there too. Couple of weeks now...would be the expectation...no word on what you'd do if you're running 10.4.

Why Does Photoshop cs5 Camera RAW not open CRW files

What size does the properties dialog show for the 6.7 camera raw plugin?
Adobe keeps changing the support pages around, so you might try one of these two:

Also, maybe someone has some other ideas in the camera raw forum:

RAW not opening in PS when triggered from within LR
When I select a RAW image in Lightroom, right click and select "edit in" –> "Edit in Photoshop CC 2014", Photoshop launches but does not open my image.
I would expect that it takes me to the Camera RAW module or at least throws me a comprehensive error message but – nothing.
Any Ideas?Hallo Skandal1986gr,
Recognize Canon EOS 7D Mark II RAW Files in PS CS5 on Windows
I'm trying to get a RAW files from a Canon EOS 7D Mark II recognized by PS CS5. I'm running a Windows 8.1 desktop.
That camera format is supported by ACR 8.7.1 update. But that appears to be only backwards compatible with PS CS6.
Is there any recourse other than upgrading Photoshop? Thanks.Yes. Download the DNG Converter free from Adobe: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows : Adobe DNG Converter 8.7.1 in order to convert the Canon raws to dng format which can then be read in Adobe Camera Raw.
Here's how to use it: Camera Raw: How to use Adobe DNG Converter - YouTube

have canon 70D photoshop cs5/6 lightroom 5 camera not supported downloaded DNG still won't open raw files even though I have put settings right in DNG 8.2 help please!
Have you updated lightroom to version 5.2?
http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2013/09/lightroom-5-2-now-available.html
Then you shouldn't have to use the dng converter.
And updated photoshop cs6 to camera raw 8.2?

Canon EOS 5D Mark II DNG Not Recognized by Aperture
Hi - I recently received a hard drive with a number of DNG files shot with the 5D Mark II. When I try to import them into Aperture,
I am told that the file format is not supported. All Aperture support (book/web/help) says DNG is supported. Also, Canon 5D RAW
supported.
How can I import these files?
Thanks.
ChrisFrom the Aperture spec:
DNG files must be generated by the Adobe DNG Converter with the “Convert to Linear Image” option turned off.
Might be your problem.
If you can get your hands on the original RAW files that would definitely be your best bet. -

RAW not opening up in ELEMENTS 5.O
I download my pictures on Windows XP and it accepts all my JPEGS but doesnt download all my RAW files. It will sometimes download a few RAW files but most of the time says its not a recognized format? Any help would be great thanks.
Looks like you need to download and install latest version of Adobe Camera Raw plugin for your version of PSE. I believe ACR 4.2 (very latest) just came out and should be compatible. There might also be updates for PSE from 5.0.0 to 5.01/.02

I've just returned from traveling round asia and found a fair few images show 'The file appears to unsupported or damaged' error message, I can see the preview but can not develop, this is in LR5
After shooting on the road I took the SD card and imported the images straight from the SD card to the HD on my macbook air ver1 through LR4. I then moved the files to an external drive through LR4.
Now I've returned I'm now using my Macbook pro 15'' and LR5 and these files aren't opening, they didnt open on the Macbook air either.
There are possibly 30 files and they all come from one import so i'm guessing they all corrupted on import.
Is there any software i can use that will open these files and allow me to rescue them?
Your help would be greatly appreciated as one of the files looks like one of the best i took during the entire 6 week trip.Where are the photos located? Can you physically locate them and see that they are full sized?
