    Hi,
I had the SSIS packages (ETL job) working fine for a long time and then we moved the server/machine and ETL job keeps failing.
The ETL job run number of packages. The ETL job fails for the first run then I set the retires and it works in 2nd or 3rd try on the ETL job but it fails daily for the first run where DTexec.exe crash (log pasted below)
    Server: Windows 2008 R2
SQL Server:  SQL Server 2008 R2
    RAM 64 GB
    CPU cores 8
we had the similar specs on previous machine and ETL job worked fine. Only difference is we have 2 SQL server instances now on same machine.
I am suspecting it's an issue with ETL packages  but why it was working fine before for a long time and after machine move it keeps failing.
    Any thoughts?

  • Pm-utils stopped working after recent upgrade. [Solved]

Hi. After a recent upgrade my system, the pm-utils package stopped working. I can run pm-suspend and hibernate but nothing happens at all. Just a blank terminal screen appears. Were there any changes to the kernel that might have changed how it worked? It used to work fine before recently.
Last edited by semperfiguy (2008-10-21 21:56:13)

The update to the kernel made the package I was using for the ath_pci module not work. I had a hook in the suspend that would rmmod and modprobe that module. With the new upgrade I use the ath5k module now. So I just changed the file /etc/pm/sleep.d/12mod-ath_pci to reflect that change and it works great now. Thank You.

Hi all,   I just upgraded to Windows 10, and immediatly ran into the problem that is described in this thread about Windows 8: http://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Software/Eos-Utility-problem/td-p/1189 After reading that thread I decided to unplug the other USB devices I had in the computer at the time (Garmin Watch, USB key, smart phone) and turn off the camera.  I then turned on the camera and ran the EOS utility and it found my camera and worked correctly. Clearly this problem is still not resolved, but that simple work-around gets me downloading my pictures again.  There are a lot of other things people tried in the above thread, but I just unplugged the USB devices and was good to go.

Well......your option works... but i found another solution, bit of searching but it works.Through the startup folder of windows the eos utility will auto start when starting windows.but if you edit the shortcut in the startup folder to start "eos utility 2" (leave the rest of the shortcut in place) it will bring up the utility apparently in a different mode (or another version of it ) that will recognize the camera as soon as you conect it (and switch it on ) have not yey found out how to start it in the system tray but will keep looking

  • Disk utility stopped working

Disk Utilities stopped working. It opens and recognizes all the drives, but all the functions (Verify, Repair Permissions, etc) stay grayed out and can't be selected. I'm using 10.7.5 and all is up to date.

  • Why has my Printer Utility stopped working?

I had a problem with my printer printing out washed out and orange images with blue lines on them and then it stopped printing text altogether. I had only used it a few times, so I called the Epson support people.
As soon as I said it was running on a Mac the guy said it was a Macintosh software problem and told me to change stuff and to then download new drivers and then uninstall the software and reinstall the new drivers. Anyway that didn't work.
So I called them back a number of times always getting another person, with a different solution and still nothing changed.
Then the last guy I spoke to said it was simply that the cartridges were empty!!
But now after mucking around and downloading new drivers and all my Printer Utility isn't working anymore.
When I click on it, it searches for the printer and cannot find it, therefor I cannot run a maintenance for clogged cartridges, low ink, that kinda stuff, etc.
I did trash the download stuff that was on my desktop after installing the new drivers. Could it be something to do with that? I haven't emptied the trash yet if it is. But I wouldn't know what to do if this is the problem anyhow.
Can anyone please tell me how to get it working again???
    Tina

Many vendors just aren't comfortable with Macs. Most times all they do is read through their online 'Troubleshooting' guide (maybe never having actually worked on a Mac) and then they give you the 'textbook' example of what to do. Not much help in most cases (in all fairness, I've experienced the same thing from a FEW Apple Help Desk staff.
Anyway, one thing you might do is try UNInstalling the drivers, and reinstalling them - BUT, it's possible you have something partially installed, etc. Had similiar problem the other night, downloaded the LATEST version of StuffIt Expander, and it screwed up everything I tried to do after that. I went back to StuffIt's site, downloaded the PREVIOUS version and everything worked fine again. I had downloaded and re-downloaded some Epson Drivers and Installed/reInstalled them for an hour without success. As soon as I installed the PREVIOUS version of StuffIt Expander, BAM, it all worked agian... Amazing!! Another thing to try, run Disk Utility to Verify Permissions on your Startup Disk. It's a good idea to do this BEFORE and AFTER updating any version of the OS, and AFTER following the installation of new software, just to keep things running smoothly... Good Luck!!

I have a toshiba satellite pro laptop. it comes with a utility to use your fingerprint to enter password protected sites. when I go to a preregistered site a green bar used to show below the menu bar prompting me to scan my fingrprint to enter the site. this green bar no longer shows up and sanning my fingerprint doesn't work. the fingerprint utiltiy does work when I first sign in to my computer so I think it is a problem with version 4. any ideas?

See if this extension works for you. <br />

Or maybe this version from the author's website. <br />

If neither of those work, check with Toshiba for an update.

  • EOS Utility - not launching?

I found out what was causing the problem on my computer.  It was AVG Antivirus.  EOS Utility stopped working on another computer and no I thought that was very peculiar.  I started looking harder at my configurations and starting turning things off. Sure enough it was AVG antivirus. As soon as I disabled it the EOS utility started working. They must have had a recent update that cause the problems because it was working before. No errors in AVG so I am going to have some choice words with them. It is unacceptable to disable a program and not display any notification that you are doing it. I have spent a considerable amount of time troubleshooting this.

Same problem for me too. Camera: 5D III, OS Win7 x64 I tried to "manually" launch "EOS utility 3 .exe" and "EOS utility 2 .exe" from the folders where files are installed but I got the same problem. If I launch EOS utility in folder EOS Utility (which is in folder EU2) I can launch the program but I cannot download images. Only link active is " monitor folder". I have already tried to reinstall everything multiple times (and always re-strarting my PC between uninstalling and re-installing). Any help? Thanks!Uninstall both versions of EOSU and start over, installing only EOSU 3. One of the options displayed will be to include EOSU 2 as part of the installation, so check that option. Then when you start EOSU with its GUI, it will automatically select the correct version - in your case EOSU 3, because that's what works correctly with the 5D3. If you use it on, say, a Rebel, EOSU 2 will be used. One other thing you might do is make sure you've installed DPP 4. (DPP 3 and DPP 4 can co-exist on the same computer.) The latest versions of EOSU and DPP are more closely integrated than in the past, so it's conceivable that EOSU 3 needs DPP 4 in order for all its functionality to work correctly.

  • Installing EOS Utility (Mavericks)

I have a MacBook Pro and using Mavericks.
When I upgraded to Mavericks, I noticed EOS Utility stopped working for remote shooting. I tried downloading the Mavericks update but it still wouldn't work.
I tried deleting & reinstalling EOS Digital Solition Disk. Insert the CD, I can't start the installation process. Clicking the startup icon does nothing.
Anyone else have this problem? Any solution?

    Hi supremeconvoy!
    Thanks for posting.
Depending on what camera you have, full versions of the software package can be downloaded from our website.  Please click HERE to go there.  Enter the model camera you have, then select the EOS Digital Solution Disk Software 28.2A from the list.  Once installed, you can update using the other downloads on that same page.

This is a known issue with USB cDAQ devices, USB X Series devices, and myDAQ. National Instruments has seen this issue with Renesas, Fresco Logic and ASMedia USB controllers, but other controllers may also be affected. If you are experiencing this problem or a similar problem, first check your USB cable connection to see if it is faulty. • Disk utility not working when upgraded to Yosemite

I have two MacBook pros (one is a mid 2010 13 inch and new Mid 2014 15 inch Retina), both of which disk utility stopped working when updated to OS X Yosemite from Mavericks. It says "You can't use this copy of Disk Utility with this version of OS X. Open the copy of Disk Utility located in the Utilities folder of the Applications folder of your startup disk." I was able to fix the old 13 inch by clearing the hard drive and pressing CMD+R to reinstall the OS but the new macbook I have not been able to fully clear the SSD. And for some weird reason my bootcamp partition on my 15 inch is being read as a totally separate hard drive instead as a partition.
Any help on totally erasing the hard drives and making them one is greatly appreciated!

If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main Recovery screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.10 ("Yosemite"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

  • Software Update stopped working after download of Pro Application 4.0.1

I'm reposting this since the subject was not clear.
After using Software Update to download "Pro Application support 4.0.1" the Software Update utility stopped working the next time I went to used it. It just sits at the "checking for new software" screen with only a 6th of the blue bar used. It cansels OK. I let it run for more than 30 minutes before canceling. I'm not sure if "Pro Application support 4.0.1" had anything to do with it. But it was the last thing done with the application.

    Hello,
Perhaps your Software Update prefs are corrupted. Do this:
    Locate this file: com.apple.softwareupdate.plist
It's here: /Home/Library/Preferences. Open the Preferences folder, locate that file and drag it to the Trash. Empty the Trash and reboot.
Run Disk Utility located in your Applications folder and Repair Disk Permissions.
Also, make sure your hard drive has no less than 15% free hard drive space. To locate this information, open a Finder window. The information will be displayed at the bottom.

  • Eos Utility Problems Canon 6D

I have posted on this subject before, I cannot get the Eos Utility to work on my Windows 8.1 Desktop Computer, in the last two months I have had a new setup, previously I have managed to get it working on 8.1 on the old one, I have downloaded the latest version but it will not work using wi-fi (that's another issue) or USB, I do not get an icon on the task bar so I cannot download any of my new photos, the other thing is that when connected via USB the camera should show in Windows Explorer I think that Canon's utility program is a pigs breakfast, as for Wi-Fi nothing I do will persuade the camera to connect via Wi-Fi although I can get it to connect to my iPad, anybody who can help me reduce my blood pressure, bring it on

Though it wasn't previously installed, I did install the latest downloadable EOS Utility for my Canon 5D Mark II. I am running Windows 8.1 64-bit.
I don't have any difficulty having the utility recognize my camera when teathered by USB.
Generally speaking, when you have confirmed that the USB ports are visible in the Device Manager window, are able to connect other devices but not the camera, and have eliminated obvious problems such as a defective USB cable, then the problem is almost certainly a driver problem.
Canon advises that no drivers are available, or needed beyond what Windows offers, for the computer to recognize your camera. Clearly this isn't working.  I would suggest you attempt to repair your copy of Windows 8.1 either by going to control panel and selecting troubleshooting > configure a device or you attempt to reinstall from your original Windows 8.1 DVD and select repair on startup.
    Good luck.
Note: If your camera goes to sleep while teathered to your computer you may need to cycle the power to have it recognized within the EOS Utility.
