EP 6.0 and BW in one system
Hello everyone,
We currently run EP 6.0 SP2 and BW 3.1 on separate systems and are looking at upgrading to EP 6.0 SP11 and BW 3.5. We have a Netweaver sandbox system setup with both running in one system and I was thinking we could consolidate these into one productive system and possibly save some hardware along the way. It seems with proper sizing it would be possible to do this. Does anyone have any experience with running these together productively or is anyoneelse thinking of going that route?

Your biggest consideration is regarding the UME. When you run combined ABAP/JAVA stacks then the UME for Java must be in the ABAP stack - so all your EP users will be managed with SU01. Certain user management functions are not fully available in the EP user mgmnt iViews (meaning you will need to use ABAP transactions for some UM activities), this is discussed in both Web AS and EP release restrictions note.
From a performance perspective you won't find much difference between running them seperately (i.e. not in a combined stack) but on the same host vs. running them together in the same instance.

The link information between sap item and archived document is stored in tables toa01, toa02, toa03 or toahr. Maybe you can do a mapping/export/import from the entries between erp and crm....
additionally you need to customize connection to the same archives.
Did not try that, but i think it's worth testing :o)

PS and FICO in one system, payroll in other - payroll posting run fails

We are a system solution is which one server contains FICO, PS, MM, SD Travel, CATS and mini-HR.
The other has mini-FICO, HR and payroll. System is 604 SP36.
We don't want to have the PS conifguration in HR server but we need to have travel costs via one ALE to HR server and then process them and return travel accounting information back to FI.
Finally payroll run to send results back to FI. This is when we have problems to have G/L account assignments.
Question is what is the minimunm way to have WBS element information for payroll to run. Enhance BaPI to transfer travel expense data (tables PTRV_HEAD and PTRV_PERIO or PTRV_SCOS)? Any suggestions?

PiaFor that, you need to synchronize the FI system with HR system with IDOC and then assign the new GL in HR system.
This process should be reverse from FI to HR. The same IDOC will run however you need take the help of ABAP person to make it reverse from FI to HR.

I would recommend you to use 0FI_AP_4 rather using both, particularly for many reasons -
1. DS: 0FI_AP_4 replaces DataSource 0FI_AP_3 and still uses the same extraction structure. For more details refer to the OSS note 410797.
2. You can run the 0FI_AP_4 independent of any other FI datasources like 0FI_AR_4 and 0FI_GL_4 or even 0FI_GL_14. For more details refer to the OSS note: 551044.
3. Map the 0FI_AP_4 to DSO: 0FIAP_O03 (or create a Z one as per your requirement).
4. Load the same to a InfoCube (0FIAP_C03).

Hi. My iMac hard drive is running Mavericks. I have an old version of Quark Xpress (3.32) which won't run in Mavericks. Can I partition my hard drive and run an older system on one partition, so I can access my Quark? Is that possible?

QuarkXPress 3 is a Classic Mac OS application, so you need a version of OS X that still supports Classic. I believe 10.4 was the last one.
So if you have an iMac that boots with 10.4, then yes that is possible. I doubt though that newer Macs boot with OS X 10.4.
So why don't you upgrade QuarkXPress 3 to a newer version? I am not just asking that because I want you to spend money with us.
Typically using software that was released almost 20 years ago is just feasible when you keep an environment that was current at the time of release or a few years after, so an older Mac with a operating system present at that time. 20 years in IT is a lot.
So my opinion is that on a new Mac with a brand new operating system you need to use something a bit more current.
How about QuarkXPress 9 (released 3 years ago) or QuarkXPress 10? You are better off with v9, as QuarkXPress 10 only opens v7 and higher (whereas QuarkXPress 9 opens v3.1 and higher).
Or - I am even happy to make an exception - upgrade to 9 and we give you 10 for free? Let me know please.

Send PO from one system and create a SO in another system

ii am learning ALE IDOC and would like to do a complete hands on practice. I have been doing some basic scenarios and so far i am progressing well.
What i am planning to do:
Now i would like to do an end to end scenairo of sending a PO idoc from one system and this should create a SO in the other system.
Steps i am planning to do:
1). Configure the sending system for a outbound PO idoc
2). Configure the receiving system for a Inbound SO idoc
3). Maintain VOE2(EDPAR) and VOE4(EDSDC) tables for partner information and organization information respectively.
Questions:
1). Am i missing any steps?
2). I am confused on what to maintain in VOE2 and VOE4. Which information of PO should i maintin in VOE2 and VOE4 in the receiving system?

I know how to change the description of a material using ALE Change Pointers.
I will give the following few steps
1) Tcode BD61---> check the change pointers activated check box

Checklist after the System Setup
SCM Menu
After you have installed the SCM System, you may have to set up the menu that you want to use.
To do this, access transaction SE38 and run the report /SCMB/SM_VERS.
Choose Full Version and then, choose Execute.
Check Planning Version 000
In your SAP SCM system, use the following path:
SAP Menu  Advanced Planning and Optimization  Master Data  Planning Version Management  Model and Version Management
Make sure that the planning version 000 Active Version is available.
If this planning version is not available, this means that the LiveCache has not been initialized. Proceed with the LiveCache initialization before you start with the installation of any SAP Best Practices scenario.
Check that PSE services have been activated
Use transaction strust in your SCM system. All services should have a green light. If it is red, activate all of them. There is no need to reboot the system afterwards.
OPTIMIZER
1. Checking that the Optimizer has been installed
Transaction SM59  RFC Destination  OPTSERVER_CTM01  Test Connection
If the connection cannot be established, this may be due to the following reasons:
the Optimizer has not been installed
an error occurred during the installation of the Optimizer
2. Checking that the Optimizer SPs have been installed
Open transaction /SAPAPO/OPT09. The Optimizer Support Packages should be identical to the Support Packages of the SCM system.
Ensuring that the APO relevant PI Settings are activated in SAP ECC
You have to make sure that the business transaction events are active in the SAP ECC system. Only if these events are active for the SAP APO integration, will changes to the transaction data be transferred from the SAP ECC system to the SAP APO system. This setting should have already been performed; this is just a reminder in order to avoid possible problems later on. Use the following procedure:
In your SAP ECC system, open the transaction BF11.
Confirm the message The table is cross client.
On the Change View: Application Indicator: Overview screen, check that the applications ND-APO, PI-EM and NDI are active, i.e. selected. If they are inactive, select the check box to activate them.
Choose Save and go back.
Web Communication Layer (WCL)
Ensure that the WCL is installed correctly: Usually the WCL should be connected to the client 001 of the SCM system. Use transaction /saptrx/wcl_search in the SCM system to open the WCL. If a logon pop-up appears, then the WCL is set up correctly. If the message WCL is not installed... appears, the respective set up settings should be checked and corrected, if necessary.

i have a 10.6.8 mac os x system in a intel processor computer. how can I addressbook contacts to icloud. I tried exporting my import my addressbook and failed, then exportind a vcard from all contacts and failed and finale only one vcadr and failed. Something might i doing wrong
I just had the same problem, I've updated to 10.6.8 yesterday, and since then the browsing are very slow, no matter what broswer I am using, the upload download speed are still the same. But browsing just take forever, It takes for example google.com 30 seconds to load. I have Extream high speed internet connection, 3 other computers, and the only one is having this problem is the Mac after the update.
Something in this update screwed my browsing capabitilties, I tried downloading Crome browser, same issue.
I hope there is a way beside TimeMachine to revert the latest update. I don't want to reformat as I am sure as soon as I am going to do the update it will cause the same problem.

I connected my iPod Touch to a stereo system phono input using a cable with stereo jacks (red and white) on one end and that plugs into the iPod's headphone jack. The problem is that the sound is extremely muffled and bass-heavy, with little treble. I have to turn the bass control on the stereo receiver to pratically zero in order for the sound coming through the stereo to be acceptable. Is there a setting on either the iPod or the stereo that I need to change in order to fix this?
The phono input is for a phonograph. The iPod does headphne output is not that same as a phongraph output. Does th stero have an AUX input? That should be compatible.

There is a world of difference between handling Standard Definition DV material and RAW 4k media. "cc_merchant" referred you to Harm's data on our web site. Especially look at the "Tweakers Page" and "What kind of PC to use?" page.
There are very few off-the-shelf computers that work well without some small additions. For instance, you rarely find one that has two hard drives as suggested for satisfactory editing, the correct amount of memory and the best GPU for your application. -
I created 2 Gmail addresses. My Mac recognizes and accept only one name in the System Preferences.
When I send a mail with one of the address, the recipient receives it with this address, however, if he replies, the incoming address will be the second one? ? ?I've never had a problem with multiple email addresses. My ISP's email account has multiple accounts and the same SMTP server, no problem.
I can't speak for GMail as I only have one, and that is my spam email account, so I don't really care what it sends.

"Different session." What does that mean?
Gmail is a very bizarre email server. It was designed to be web-based, but due to demand, they made it pseudo-compatible with POP and IMAP.
If you move email out of the Inbox, Mail will reply using the "default" email account, not necessarily the one that was originally associated with the message. Being that Gmail doesn't really have mailboxes or folders, but has tags it calls "Labels," it may have something to do with that issue. -

In the SneakPreview 6.40 help-File is says:
"If you have installed a previous version of SAP Web Application Server, you have to remove it prior to installing this edition."
I just installed miniwas 6.20 and dont want to crash it by installing sneak preview.

elkoI shut down all database services (as I used a win2000 system), renamed the sapdb root directory and started a new sapdb installation with the installer from the WAS 6.40 Sneak Preview DVD. Finally you have to change the configuration settings (database id etc.).
Since I am quite new to SAP I cannot estimate if the change succeeded.
