EP 6.0 SP 9 Upgrade Installation Error!
Hi!
Here's a detailed explanation of the error that we are facing while doing the EP 6.0 SP 9 upgrade from EP 6.0 SP 3.
We followed all the steps given below before upgrading -
Step 1
Installed SAP Web AS 6.40 J2EE Engine SP3 successfully
Step 2
Upgraded SAP Web AS 6.40 J2EE Engine SP3 to SP4 successfully
Step 3
Installed Portal Platform EP 6.0 SP3 successfully
Step 4
Upgraded SAP Web AS 6.40 J2EE Engine SP4 to SP9 successfully
Now, the problem we are facing at is Step 5.
Step 5
Upgrade Portal Platform EP 6.0 SP3 to SP9.
All releavant SAR files ie, SAPINST, CTRL, TOOLS & PORTAL are all uncarred in the given order and when we execute
the SAPInst there is a pop for the J2EE Adimistrator Id & password. The default is administrator & when the releavant J2EE administartor's password is keyed in it throws a weird error stating " The given user id & password does not match confirmed user id & password".
As a part of troubleshooting we have ensured the following below-
- Checked if the SDM, SAP & J2EE engine are all up and running using SAP MMC.
- Checked if there are no in the EP6.0 SP 3 instal errors using the Analyser & loggining in successfully.
- Checked if the J2EE & relevant services are up & running using the Visual Admin for WAS 6.40 SP9
- Checked if the J2EE is up & so is the portal SP3 by given the releavant url info & logging in successfully.
Is there anything else that we need to do before running the SAPInst like for instance install note 715246?
Kindly let me know your thoughts
Many thanks,
Best regards,
Divya Rao
Hey.
We faced this very same problem during an upgrade. It turned out to be related to the path where the installation files are located. If the path includes spaces then this error occurs!
The stange thing is that upgrading the WAS from a similar path works without problems - so only the Portal upgrade is affected.
Hope this helps.

Get installer error on CS6 upgrade
With CS5.5 when trying to install the upgrade to 6 it tells me there is an installer error and I should uninstall 5.5 then use cleaner. Can I just put on CS6 upgrade instead?
YEs, you do not need to have CS5.5 installed to install CS6. You only need to have the serial number from CS5.5 so that you can confirm the upgrade requirement is met.

Software Update, 10.6.6 installation error!!
Hi all, hope someone can help.
I have a Mac Pro running 10.6.5. I upgraded to 10.6.5 recently and had problems with this. When using Software Update, it would download, log out and install only to get an error at the end saying it couldn't install, with no explanation of why. I did some investigation and it boiled down to Safari (one of the updates in the list to install along with 10.6.5) wasn't being replaced. I had to delete Safari from my applications folder before updating. I tried rebuilding permissions and even installed from the installers from the apple download page. but until I deleted Safari from my apps folder it would fail every time.
Since I assumed that it was a corrupt copy of safari and all other update went ok I assumed I had fixed the problem.
Now I'm trying to install the update of 10.6.6 via Software Update. and I'm getting the same problems. It downloads, reboots, installs then at the end says that it was not installed because of an error and promps me to restart.
I have downloaded the update and run it from the desktop and it goes through the install as follows:-
Installing
optimizing system
Moving files
installation failed.
It seems that it isn't able to replace existing files on my system with new ones therefore fails the install.
Has anyone got any ideas? I have repaired permissions with disk utility and tried repairing them while booting from the 10.6.3 system disc, still no joy
Many thanksWorse problem here. I get the installation error then the computer attempts to reboot and I get locked at the gray background apple screen. Tried safe boot power on +SHIFT a status bar comes up and goes 3/4 away across and locks. Running permissions repair from Mac OEM disk set was no help. Had to do a time machine restore. Seems my install error is catastrophic. On the upside time machine works very well.. A bit disappointed with my Windows-esque crash

Windows 7 installation error using bootcamp
windows7 installation error then i try to restore my MBP mid 2012 on HD Restored but its only continues Loading and Loading nothing happen almost 5 hours i try twice same happen.Someone can help me to restored my MBP any idea?
I think people have detested like me the Metro changes but then I just hit a key and I am back to desktop - it runs better and smoother and 8.1 has made booting to desktop option one of the first things you can set and it walks you through it.
OEM is fine, cannot transfer to another computer is all, and I would follow the "a newer version" link.
Windows 7 even with SP1 is 3 yrs old, and a lot of tweaking and improvements went under the hood.
See if you can google a review of games under 8/8.1 that you use.
Buy now might even want to see if there are or will be any free upgrades to 8.1 or not. -
Adobe Acrobat 9 Installation Error 2?
Support:
I just purchased Adobe Creative Suite 4 for my office and I'm having issues installing Acrobat 9. All other applications install, etc: Photoshop, Dreamweaver. To get ready I uninstalled all my old CS3 software and used the CS3 clean utility from Adobe. Then I searched all my files and registry and deleted all leftover files and registry entries.
I restarted and began to install my wondrous new CS4! Everything went well until the end of the installation. I got an error saying Adobe Acrobat could not be installed. It gave me the below output, basically put: "Error: Error 2". I then went to the support site and installed the Adobe Air, Adobe Support Advisor. After a quick check of the "Creative Suite Product Install" option it returned, "The module found no solutions to report for the selected log file.".
Adobe Installer Error Info:
"Sorry you are experiencing trouble with this installation.
Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional (At install, older versions get upgraded. A l'installation, les versions plus anciennes sont mises à niveau. Bei der Instalation werden ältere Versionen aktualisiert.)
Error:
Error 2."
I don't know what to do now. I desperately need Acrobat installed for my business. I have searched the support site up and down and have found no information on the issue. I did find a support issue which says, "Acrobat 9 is not installed as part of Creative Suite 4 on Windows (XP 64-bit, Vista 64-bit and 2003 Server 64-bit): Adobe Acrobat 9 fails to be installed as part of Adobe Creative Suite 4 on Windows XP 64-bit, Windows Vista 64-bit and Windows 2003 Server 64-bit." However I have an x86 (32bit) system. Hell, I even tried to install the Windows KB update file and it wouldn't let me due to my system being 32bit. Link to the issue below:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb407134&sliceId=1
I then also found a user who reported the infamous Error 2; however sadly he did not have the exact same issue although similar. He too ran the analyzer application and it also found no errors. He is also running a similar setup to mine (see specs below). He gets the same error when trying to install the other applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop, etc... To this day his issue has not been taken care of. Link to his issue is below:
http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b6f48a
My system information: Windows XP Pro SP3 with a P4 3Ghz, 2GB DDR RAM, Radeon X1650, multiple hard drives, and the most recent updates, software, etc...
Please help and thanks in advance,

I know my original post was over a year ago, but unfortunately I wasn't ever able to resolve it. I worked with tech support over the phone wasting hours of both of our time trying to resolve this problem. Now when I need to use Acrobat 9 Pro, I have to access it with my laptop and then transfer my work back to my desktop computer in order to use the rest of the CS4 Suite on my desktop. The crazy thing is I'm running the exact same XP software on my laptop as I run on my desktop and Acrobat on my laptop works great. So I have no doubt that Acrobat works well with 64 bit systems on Vista and 7, but I'm not very confident that by upgrading to a new windows operating system will result with success. This issue seems so strange to me since I am able to run 50 other applications on my desktop from other software manufacturers and can successfully download new applications from any software manufacture with the exception of Acrobat. If anyone has a similar problem and can figure out a solution, please let me know.

Solution**********************************************
Support:
I have figured out the solution to the issue on my own. I usually have the print spooler service disabled on my work PC to combat intellectual property theft. However, I remembered that I once had an issue installing Adobe CS3 Master Collection (Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro). The older generation Adobe software (Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro/CS3) displayed the error that the print spooler service was not started and provided a solution. What is really strange is that the newer software (CS4) simply gives no description of an error and simply outputs "Error 2".
Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro included with Adobe CS4 Master Collection will not properly install if the print spooler service is not enabled and started! After the install you can disable the print spooler service as usual, but it is necessary upon installation to have it running. In addition, Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 (Free Edition) will install and perform as usual with the print spooler service disabled. I suggest putting this information on your site for others who may experience the same issue in the future.
Regards,
MChecking the Event Viewer is good advice.
I had Error 1606.Could not access network location, and a web search led me to this advice to remove old registry entries for MS Office:

Makes no sense but there you have it. -
How can I resolve installation errors DF024 & DF037 for CS5.5 on Mac?
Please help. I've gone through the forum posts, as well as searched the Internet, and find the matter daunting. Have tried to implement a solution and may have caused more problems. Assistance would be greatly appreciated.
PROBLEM:
I am unable to uninstall or reinstall both Dreamweaver 5.5 and CS 5.5.
Continually get extensive number of the following errors:
ERROR DF024 Unable to preserve original file...
ERROR DF024 Unable to move file…
ERROR DF037 Unable to delete directory…
SYSTEM CONFIG:
Adobe CS 5.5
Mac OS 10.7.4
MacBook Pro 2.5 GHz
Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB Ram
BACKGROUND (History appears chronologically in 4 parts.):
CS 5.5 was already installed and functioning fine, then upgraded from OS 10.6 to 10.7. Noticed issues with elements not appearing in DISPLAY VIEW of Dreamweaver, but was correct in CODE VIEW and BROWSER PREVIEW.
Tried to reinstall and uninstall Dreamweaver 5.5 several times using the CS 5.5 installation disk. Consistently got DF024 errors. NOTE: After first attempt. installer marked Dreamweaver as already installed, but not the others. Using the Finder, the Dreamweaver directory appears to be empty unless the files are now hidden. Nothing regarding the application can be seen in the Trash. Also unable to launch any other Adobe CS apps.

SLConfig.xml appeared to be an alias pointing to a file of the same name in the Mac version. Went to original file, made a new alias and replaced the corrupted file.
Then rebooted system and relaunched CSS5.5 Installer with all apps selected. Program started and ran for about 15 min before reporting more errors, now with error DF037 as well. Did this again with the same results except the DF037 error did not reappear. It appears the the problems are mostly in two directories:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/
and
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/ssc/DesignSuitePremium-CS5.5-Win-GM/
but I am not sure how to best resolve this.

ERROR: DW050: - AdobeColorEU CS5.5: Install failedHi Sharad,
Thank you for your reply.
Since my initial posting here, I've attempted a few more installations. Each time a file from /Library/Application Support/Adobe/ssc/ would appear with the same error DF024, and it was always an alias. So each time I would replace the old alias with a new manually created alias pointing to the same original as the old alias. Sure enough, when I relaunched the installer, error DF024 with the old alias no longer appeared, but a new error DF042 with another alias from the same directory did appear. Then I manually replaced all aliases found in the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/ssc/ directory with new ones I created.
Upon rebooting and relaunching the installer program, the program did not stop at around 12% as consistently it did up until now. Instead, it progressed to 80% before it stopped and reported a huge number of new errors. Most of them pertain to the inability to roll back the installation it had attempted. No files from /Library/Application Support/Adobe/ssc/ appeared in the new log report.
To gain a better understanding of the logs, I downloaded AdobeSupportAdvisor and tried using it, but it referred me to online solutions that weren't relevant to my situation (i.e., one mentions Photoshop CS4 and I've never installed CS4).
I also tried following the articles from the Adobe knowledgebase:
cspid_84451: Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6
which is fine if you only have a few errors, and
cspid_83481: Installation, launch log errors | CS5, CS5.5, CS6, CCM
which doesn't list error DF024.
At this point I've decided to not not make anymore attempts without some expert guidance.
The log file seem too large to post here. If you would like review the log, I can perhaps post it on www.pastebin.com unless you can suggest a better way. Please let me know. -
Installation error: Adobe Color JA Extra Settings CS4
I have a multiuser Mac CS4 Design Studio (college department). All but one computer is installing fine. This is a PowerMac G5 with 10.5.8. Clean as a whistle, nothing funny installed, no other problems.
The installer fails when installing Illustrator, specifically when installing the additional-but-required item named "Adobe Color JA Extra Settings CS4". It simply fails with a helpful "Error 2" message. I don't know what this item is, but without it, Illustrator won't install.
All other CS4 applications install fine. I've repaired permissions, tried installing from another Admin user on the same computer, etc. I've tried installing both from the original CDs and from the downloaded license installer. Etc etc.
The Adobe installation log appears useless. I run the "Adobe Support Advisor" which tells me:
Issue no: id18470
Unable to update an installed font when installing the Adobe Creative Suite 4 product
and points me to:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403901.html
Which, if related at all, doesn't provide any info since it doesn't tell me what font is related (although my gut feeling is this isn't a font issue at all, but it's impossible to know). Anyway I try using the Support Advisor to upload the logs to Adobe but keep getting "The storage server is unavailable! Please try again later." That's helpful. Anyway, to rule out any font permission issues I force-propagated proper permissions in /Library/Fonts and ~/Library/Fonts. No change.
I've been on hold with Adobe Support for 45 minutes and can't stay on much longer, so I figure I'll post here to see if anyone has any suggestions. I wish they'd at least have better music.
Any idea what this file/item is, and if there's either another way to install it (ie copy from another Mac) or manually deselect it from the installer?
The last chunk of lines from the installation log follows; no idea where the proper cutoff is.
Thanks!

Please make sure that your computer is up to date in Windows update.
Also try following commands to repair Windows first:
Please make sure to run CMD as Administrator:
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Then clear store temp file and make sure your network connection is stable (the wired connection should be better):
Run -> WSRESET.EXE
Please also disable your security applications and try to run the upgrade again.

ITunes Producer installation error
iTunes Producer gives me this installation error:
"The installation failed.
An unknown installation error occurred.
The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
I'm using a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.6.8, 2.53 GHz Intel processor, 4 GB RAM, with 30 GB of space available on my hard drive. I've already contacted iBookstore Publisher Support. They sent me here. Any ideas?
Thanks for your help,
JoshI just installed Snow Leopard from install DVD 10.6 and then used software update to insure I have the latest system everything on this MacBook Pro with Intel Core Duo 2.4 GHz processor, 2GB ram, 133 GB available space on the hard drive.
I get the same error as above.
"The installation failed.
An unknown installation error occurred.
The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
Not only that, I also tried the installation on a recently purchased Mac Mini. Same problem.
Any hints, folks? It's annoying that the only install of iTunes Producer I can use is on my old, out of date Mac that I am now afraid to upgrade the system on because if this keps happening, I won't be able to upload to iBooks at all.

AIR installation error Windows 7
I tried to upgrade to the latest version of AIR today. At first it said it was successful, but then after clicking "Finish" it said there was an installation error. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. I tried uninstalling and then running the installation program as admin. I tried creating a separate admin user, switching to that user, uninstalling AIR, and reinstalling it. I tried using the Windows Install Clean Up program. I tried deleting stuff from the registry. Now things are even worse.
Now when I try to install AIR I get this error message:
An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator.
And when I try to uninstall it through the control panel I get this message:
This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found. Pleae download teh latest version o fthe runtime from http://www.adobe.com/go/getair or contact the application author for an updated version.
How do I fix this?
Thanks,
PaulChris, thanks for your reply. In my original post, I mentioned that I tried using Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.
I eventually was able to get AIR uninstalled using Advanced SystemCare.
It seems like the installation software is not able to write or overwrite some necessary files, so I tried sharing my AppData folder with Homegroup. Then I reinstalled, but it didn't work. I've tried installing and uninstalling a bunch of times, and now I'm stuck again where I can't install (I get "An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator.") but it doesn't show up in the list of programs to uninstall in the control panel, Windows Installer Cleanup Utility or Advanced SystemCare.
I don't know if it will help or not, but here are the logs from the last couple of hours of attempts to install.

Installation error during update to Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 Bundle.
8 days ago, I purchased the upgrade to Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12, Bundle.
Premiere Elements 12 works fine, but yesterday, I found that PSE12 does not open.
This morning, the update to V 12.1 for both came in, which I downloaded tried to install.
There were two messages:
1) during installation: something like "turn off AdobeActivityScanner" (which was not running according to the Task Manager)
2) after installation:
Photoshop Elements 12.1 update
There was an error installing this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U44M1P2003
How can I correct this problem? I need to work with Photoshop this week.
Do I need to uninstall this part of the bundle, and re-install? Will the Serial No.still work?
Please help. Thanks.Update 12.1 installation errors | Photoshop Elements, Premiere Elements
